Lack of accessibility

We've been coming here for years, it is something my grandma and I do together. My grandma (93) recently fell and broke her hip and currently requiring a wheelchair. I called to make our normal appointment, and I was told they couldn't book us due to her being in a wheelchair. They have no ramp and no accessibility for anyone with physical disabilities, not even a handrail for outside stairs! They stated the owner would get in touch with me, but no one ever called. Complete discrimination against anyone with a physical disability. Please choose to go somewhere who prioritizes inclusiveness of those with physical limitations!!!

Great job trimming, cleaning the cuticles and painting my toes with a gel nail polish.

I'm truly in between three and four stars. I'm leaning towards four because you can purchase a cocktail or two with your service. Pro: I was 20 minutes early and they were able to seat me until my appointment at 4pm. I reserved two gel pedicures for my friend and I. Our service started close to on time which was nice. My technician did a wonderful job cutting my toenails short, cleaning up the cuticles and applying the gel nail paint. Both technicians were also very polite. We both enjoyed two cocktails during our service and were not rushed to leave. The services- $130.00 4 cocktails-$56.00 $25.00 tip per technician-$50.00 Totaled to 236.00 which wasn't bad. Con: We were put in one of the upstairs rooms which was warmer than I would have liked. I know the house is old, but it was warm. The bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are steep. If you have problems with stairs, like I do it can be a discomfort. The technician didn't do anything to my actual foot. I would have like to have a pumice stone for my heel and a few rough areas. I will buy a stone and do it myself. All in all not a bad experience, but I will ask for more during the actual service. I really thought my foot would be scrubbed, but that wasn't the case.

Hands down the worst gel pedicure I ever had. And it was expensive. Went with a friend and we were chatting so I didn't even notice. These pics were taken after I got home and took off my shoes two hours after my appointment. Three nails were partially painted. Nails are wonky and uneven. I don't even think they bothered to apply a topcoat because there is no shine. Very disappointed.

Clay mask still on my skin

My sister took me to soak today for my birthday. My tech Emily did not do a good job at all. I had my service at 4pm and these are photos from 9 pm. She barely did any exfoliation and the 'massage' was a pass of her hands 1/2 way up my shins. I was very disappointed that my sister spent money on this for me. I wish we would have gone somewhere that had consistent service as she received a GREAT service.

2-days post pedicure.

My main issue is with thinking about the overall experience of the pedicure, combined with the cost. It is 75$ plus tip for a pedicure. I requested extra attention to my calluses on heals. She just used a little scrub brush on my heals, and final massage was just a lotion rub. So overall relaxing, but definitely not something I would do again. I think the Walmart dude did a better job on callises and foot massage wise, at half the price! So, I guess Im confused about why this cost so much??? Nothing that special. Also, here is a picture of my heels 2-days later. As you can see, really nothing was done to my heel calluses.

With a half off coupon and in need badly of a pedi I jumped at the chance to try out Soak! I booked online using my debit card (but wasn't charged until after my service). I Found the shop easily and street parking even! Signs are posted to wear a mask and to sanitize hands upon entering. Sanitizer was on a table inside. I was greeted and told to choose a color but don't touch the bottles. I chose a great autumn leaf color. Once I was seated i waited a few minutes then was greeted by Maria. She carried a big metal bowl with water and bubbles. I was delighted to find there were marbles in the bottom to gently massage my feet. I was told by the girl who greeted me a drink was included with my pedicure and would I like something. I asked what my options were and she said alcoholic and non alcoholic. I wasn't given a menu so asked for white wine. It came in a plastic cup with a lid and straw lol not too classy but was ok. Maria added some pop rocks to my water then which made a fun crackling sound. She was very friendly and we chatted while she got to work on my feet. I received a mud mask on my feet and ankles which were then wrapped in hot towels. It smelled of peppermint and felt great! After enjoying that I received an oil massage followed by a warm paraffin rub. She worked quickly but was thorough and didn't hurt me. Plus in my book! Once my polish was done she sprayed my toes with some quick dry spray and indicated I should let them dry about fifteen minutes, I asked how long I should stay and she about five minutes due to COVID we couldn't stay longer. Barely five minutes later the girl who greeted me told me she was ready to check me out when I was and that other guests were waiting to come in. I felt like I was being kicked out and afraid my toes weren't dry! I got up carefully and paid including tip and left. I enjoyed the pedicure thoroughly but felt they should let customers sit somewhere to dry and maybe encourage customers to return!

A Mother's Day treat for my friend and I - and it was an absolute delight. My friend booked 2 seasonal pedicures via the website, kind of last minute, and they were able to get us in for an afternoon spot. I found the salon was in great shape, well kept, and had excellent nail color options. The chairs are cozy and I liked the water bowl with the gems in the bottom, though I feel like the water cooled off really quick. Their drink menu has fun options, I had the Pink Drink which was yummy and cute! The tangerine pedicure was refreshing, and the massage my gal gave melted all my stress away. Thank you for an afternoon of delightful pampering.

It really does not taste anything like an "old fashioned" but it's very good and my usual go-to. Ambiance is cool. Has a very Edgar Alan Poe vibe mixed with an alchemist/speakeasy. They have a small patio as well. Service: top-notch mixologists/alchemists.

Love the quality of the drinks as they absolutely put effort and time making quality drinks with quality ingredients. It's relatively small inside so I can only imagine it could get packed in there. We had several drinks and every single one was perfection! The bathroom is the cutest and they have the coolest speakeasy door that the employees use to get to the back (not for the customers). My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? He said no. I apologized and they left but the vibe and way he said it was definitely off putting. My sister and I decided to stay for a drink while my husband/child went to walk around. Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. They also have cool built-in seating around the perimeter of the bar, though not nearly as comfortable as the vintage furniture. The menu is sorted by glass type. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. The prices are reasonable, too. Definitely worth the visit.

A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
