Omurice with salad (dressing was delicious)!
    Rebecca T.

Recently opened Japanese restaurant that serves up simple, but quality food and drinks! Got some food and drink to-go; I didn't see that you could order online for pick-up, so I just went in to order; it took about 20 minutes to get everything, as it's made-to-order, so I wonder if Soan will set up a pick-up/delivery option online... Any case, the food and drink were really yummy! The chicken katsu sando was fantastic, with a crispy, juicy fried chicken and flavorful mayo and soft milk bread to complement it. I especially liked the hojicha latte with cream top, which was strong and nutty. The matcha latte with cream top was decent, although I would've wanted it a bit stronger (just personal preference) and the omurice was tasty with a savory and sweet combo (the latter from ketchup). Overall, a promising little restaurant with a calm and minimalist atmosphere that's perfect for chilling and slowing down to enjoy life's pleasures. Worth checking out!

We stopped by after an early morning flight for some brunch. The place is nice and quiet, everyone around us seemed to be working on their laptops and eating lunch. The selection of savory breakfast items is what piqued our interest to pop in, and of course a raving review from our local friends about their food. Can definitely say it met all our expectations! The egg sando was creamy with nice bites of egg whites on nicely toasted bread. The katsu sliders were probably my favorite, the katsu was crunchy but still was saucy without being soggy. The arugula with the katsu was genius, it made a fresh unique flavor profile I enjoyed a lot. The hand rolls were also delish, I don't normally opt for hand rolls but the fish quality was tasty! Lastly the matcha mango latte was everything I needed. Perfect color, strong matcha came through not too milky, and the mango complimented it so well. I had to stop myself from ordering a second! Service was also 10/10. We let her know we were visiting for the week, and we got a ton of local recommendations for food and coffee!

A great addition to the Palms area! The sushi is super fresh and the space is very warm and inviting. Service was fast, and there's free parking in the plaza (there's also an overflow lot of the lot is full) I really enjoyed the salmon skin salad, super refreshing. Perfect if it's hot outside.

Close and convenient. Simple, yet thoughtful menu - great for a quick bite! Had the Kaizen bowl and 3 Hand Rolls and was very satisfied. Want to come back for the omurice which reminded me when my mom used to make omurice for me. 100% coming back.

Came here after yoga at Red Diamond upstairs and what a pleasant surprise! The service and atmosphere are so lovely, and the Kaisen bowl was perfection- very fresh and high quality fist, fresh greens and delicious dressing. Will definitely be back, and as an aside, this is motivation to go to more yoga classes!

If I could give it 3.5 stars I would as it's not a bad spot. I really wanted to love this place as I love the original Sasabune restaurant. I may have come in expecting too much in terms of the grade of sushi from the original Sasabune. While decent and above supermarket sushi, the sushi was not as tender or naturally sweet as other local sushi chains in the fast casual sushi space. The rice was also not as soft and bouncy as I'd expect to complement the fish. It tended to be on the harder side. For a quick sushi fix, it did the job. But it's not somewhere I'll be craving, unfortunately. However, I'd love to try the morning/lunchtime menu that looks like it has potential. Cute space with nice, engaging service rounding the space out. Parking is not great.

    Salmon Onigiri

Came here for their salmon onigiri ~ $9 and to be honest I was surprised by the size of onigiri and generous amount of salmon! I did see on their Yelp menu it comes with miso soup but when I went today it's no longer on the menu :( otherwise I had a pleasant experience and can definitely see this as a chill place to bring your laptop and work while enjoying the food and drinks!

Went in for lunch the other day for the first time, the chirashi bowl was incredible. I will be back.

Great cafe vibes! We enjoyed our matcha and hojicha lattes, and the Kaisen don and egg sando were good. Service was nice and quick.

Chirashi bowl, acai bowl, matchas w/ oat

Just what this area needed!! I love SOAN -- the food is delicious and the matchas are my favorite in the area (so authentic). I also love how much seating they have, which makes it a perfect cafe to work from!

    Chicken Katsu Plate

Great new sushi spot! Made a reservation an hour before coming for a Friday night and there was a table ready for us despite people waiting outside. Interiors are nice and the place was really busy. We ordered the chicken katsu plate, shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and yellowtail at first and then added a salmon cut roll. Chicken katsu with dipping sauce was pretty good, although I would have preferred it to be thicker. All the sushi was great, really good fresh fish where nothing tasted fishy. Portions seemed small so needed to order more to round out the meal for two people. Only downside was the food took awhile to arrive. Would love to try out their lunch menu next time!

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.

We ordered a wide variety of sushi, and every single piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully cut, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, keeping things traditional and letting the natural flavor of the fish shine without overloading anything with heavy sauces.
