This is the most unprofessional group I have ever interacted with. New homeowner-had a bad leak in the bathroom job - house flooded - called Sobrieski - confirmed if you provide services on plumbing - they said "YES". I had seen their advertisements all over the place, thought how bad it could be. They are the worst kinds I could imagine. After 6 follow up calls from me and them getting delayed by 3 hours, they said their technician cannot make it. And their excuse they tried to call me sometime in the middle and I missed it(1 call) and technician went away. REALLY??If I have scheduled an appointment and making calls every 30 mins to confirm where the technician how difficult it is to see that I have an EMERGENCY!!!. I just needed somebody to connect the pipe glued back to the main connection. Could have done myself, but needed experts after what happened today morning. I would never call these guys again. I trusted the brand...NEVER AGAIN!!. They left me hanging in such a bad place that I cannot get anybody else now.Is service industry that difficult?? I do not think so, people are either good/bad. We need more good people in the industry and Sobrieski doesn't have them.Period!! People, please take your business somewhere else.This is not a group you trust your house with. read more

I never selected this company. We got stuck with them because Ryan Homes chose them to do the HVHC in our home. It says a lot about Ryan Homes too. If I could I would have bought another home that did not have Sobieski. There is a issue with my unit and I had an appointment that they gave me a 4 hour window. Even that is a wide gap of time. The time was from 8am to noon. So after working a grave shift, I rushed home from DC to be here on time. Hours roll by til shortly before noon, I try to call Sobieski. You get options to push but no body there. No supervisors. I received NO phone calls of where they are. 45 min later, I get a rep who states that the tech is still on their first job and they will be out as soon as they get done. Complete Wash. So I get a Friday appointment and told first thing, at 8 am. So I rush home again thru traffic jams on the beltway to be here by 8. It is now 9 am and nothing. So I am back on the phone trying to get in touch with someone. THIS is not Customer Service. So for anything thinking about Ryan Homes and Sobieski Services....STOP. Go somewhere else. read more

Don't waste your time with this POS company. They are hacks at best. We bought a home a few years back and the a/c was brand new and installed by Sobieski. The system is running fine, but with the constant Hot days upon us, I've noticed the system not cooling as well as it had been. We checked over all the basics and everything seemed fine, but we devised it probably needed some refrigerant. No where on the documentation that was left from the previous owner did it state what type of refrigerant was initially used (there are quite a few types these days). I wrote down the make, model and serial # of the unit and I called Sobieski with the hopes that they could tell me what type of refrigerant was used initially. They did pick up immediately, but the guy on the other end of the phone was an absolute dou**bag and smugly told me that he has no idea and that I would have to call the builder. I then asked why their name was all over my unit saying "call us with any questions" If they had no help to offer. The guy was half laughing when he said "sorry we cant help you" I've been in the Service Industry for many years, and if we gave service like this, we would have closed the doors many years ago. That being said, it makes sense now... This company just wants to take as much money from you upfront and then disappear into the shadows when you need help. So sickenning! read more

If you are looking for your job to be left incomplete for weeks at a time...Sobieski is for you. Trying to get half bath plumbing complete. Was promised to be done before Christmas and was not done. 1st appointment, worker never showed up, 2nd attempt Sobieski cancelled because our job was not important to them, 3rd attempt worker never showed up again, and yesterday the 4th attempt showed up and left unfinished because got a call to go to another job. I would not recommend SOBIESKI at all. My AC stopped working and there technicians came out and checked my thermostat and told me it was corroded and needed new batteries, then they went and checked my heater and said it needed to be replaced. The sales rep (DAWN) came out the next evening and proceeded to tell me it was going to cost me $6,500 to $8,000 to replace the unit with a Lennox. I asked for a price on another unit and was hold no other companies make oil heaters. After given the price I told her I needed to speak to my son and review with him and she tried to cowardice me into signing the documents stating the if I didn't she would have to come back and do a site check again and that she lived in Harrington and would have to travel back up, also that she worked off commission and needed to get the document signed. After I refused and told her I wanted a price on another brand unit she told me she would email me the information the next day and I have never heard from her or there office again. Just a short follow up - Another company came out the next day and there was a short in my thermostat and my system was fixed within 1/2 hour and only cost me several hundred instead of thousands. This review is regarding sales using Costco as our middleman. As of now, the Montgomeryville Costco contracts with one company (Sobieski). The salesman was professional and respectful. However, when I compared their prices for the exact same Lennox Signature series, they were easily 40% more. Granted, my sample size consisted of 5 local authorized Lennox dealers/installers (equal or larger size companies), these guys were the highest. I would have considered taking an above average price since it was through Costco but not highest. I felt they were not interested in making sales rather focusing on large margins since they have Costco customers to fool. A word to the wise: please get a few quotes before you sign their contract. read more

They never really fix anything but have exorbitant charge structure. Both heating and AC systems installed and serviced by them and are down every season. Would not ever recommend for installation or service. They don't return phone calls when you try to work through an issue the have caused. read more

I am a Costco member so Sobieski has a kiosk inside Costco for Lennox HVAC systems. I sign up to have the comfort advisor give me an estimate for my home. The rep comes out, gives me an overpriced estimate for a lower level series heat pump and air handler. 15K for a 2 ton system! He talked about where he drove from and how i would get the Costco rebate like I was gonna be so impressed with his high estimate. After he gives me the estimate, I asked him to add a air purification system to the package he offered and he said he would give me the air filter system for free. He overestimated me enough, he can give me something free! What a joke!!! I got estimates from 2 other competitors and they both offered superior Lennox systems at half the price of Sobieski. Be careful when hiring Sobieski especially if your a Costco member read more

No hot water to a shower and tub and they sent someone quickly but all he did was quote me a price....$1300!!!! Had another company fix the problem, a new valve, and it costs only $180. Would not recommend this company unless you like being overcharged. read more

I arrived home from work to find that my heater was not working. I called Sobieski and they immediately called me back to tell me I would have somebody in an hour. Matt C. arrived on time when they said he would. Completed his inspection and explained his finding very clearly. Needless to say, fixed what was wrong and now my heating is working.. I called Sobieski to have them come out for a winter tune-up in between the time i called them one of my other properties heater was not working so called to let them know. When the tech came out he went into the crawl space check the heater and blower and let me know that the blower motor was broken and gave me a quote of $1100.00 for a new motor. The heater was older and it didn't make sense to spend that kind of money on new blower motor. Told him to have someone come quote me for a new heater. I explained that the owner of the property would be getting 3 quotes and would make a decision based on those quotes. I got the quotes and Burns & McBride quoted me $3500.00 for a Carrier that was a 95% efficiency heater an upgrade from the Goodman i had. I got a quote from Sobieski that was 5600.00 for a Goodman 80% efficiency so obviously we took the better deal and went with Burns & McBride. When they came out to install the heater they let me know that the gas was not on. Sobieski did a system performance report without ever having the heater actually on. You have to have gas to have heat. In talking to Goodman(heater manufacturer) there has to be gas for the blower motor to come on. So Sobieski lied to me about what was going on with my heater. I may never have had to have the heater replaced. When i called the company they agreed that not checking to make sure the gas was on was a grave mistake but they were not responsible for any of the decisions based on there bogus report. I paid them to give me an expert opinion so i could make decisions on how to move forward with my heater. They never refunded the money for the fake system performance report and basically told me to pack sand. They never took responsibility for their fraudulent report. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They do not stand by their work they are over priced and it cost me $3500.00 when all i might have needed to do was call Delmarva to get the gas turned on. They are flim flam company. read more

Selected Sobieski because their trip fee was low ($79.00 and change). They also indicated that they would contact me 30-45 minutes before a technician would arrive. No Call! I needed to replace a Cad Cell Eye in my oil furnace, a $15.00 part connected to the furnace with two wires. Sobieskie's standard fee for that service was $344.00, plus the trip fee. I felt obligated to pay the trip fee, but refused the repair. When I questioned the technician about the cost, he stated, "The company has to make a profit." I don't mind paying for a necessary service, but $423.00 for a $15.00 part and 2-minutes to install is, in my view, A RIP OFF! read more

Would not recommend! I hardly ever leave reviews, but this company is a complete sham. We contacted them regarding the installation of a new AC & furnace. Once the paperwork was signed and installation was done, dealing with them has been a nightmare. We chose a specific unit based on the unit itself and on the rebates that Darren, the sales person (which is also the in-law to the owner so I guess he can say whatever lie he wants without repercussions) stated that it came with. First I had to reach out to them multiple times just to get a detailed invoice with all of the model and serial numbers of everything installed. Then it took 4 months of going back and forth with them and countless emails (which I've kept as proof to show the constant runaround and lies they gave us) to finally get the rebate that was stated. We finally get the rebate and it was less than what was discussed and agreed. They may seem great before you sign up with them, but expect the bait and switch once they have your money. I was at the local Lowes and was asked by the Sobieski rep, who had a table set up, if I was interested in any services. I said yes, I needed radiant heat hooked up. I was given a May 6th 2017 10am appointment. I received a call a few days before to confirm. When the 6th came up, I called them at 11am to see where the rep was. The woman I spoke with said they must have had the date wrong even though she was able to tell me that they had called and confirmed for the 6th. So I rescheduled for May 13th 2017 at 10am. On May 13th, I receive a call stating that the rep would be unable to hook up to my radiant pipes. I said that's interesting because he doesn't even know what I have. He automatically assumed I didn't know what I was talking about. Then there was another excuse about how they cannot guarantee it, even though I was just looking for the boiler hookup. This is where I ended the call, I told the guy if you cannot even check out the job, then I don't need your service anyway, I will find some other company. What a bunch of Bullsh!t. they don't even look at it, but turn it down.. how does that kind of company stay in business? I'll make sure this review is posted on other sites. read more

Back in June 2012, I bought a brand new central air conditioner (and air handler) from Sobieski. To my surprise, the unit sprung a leak in my basement exactly 2 years later. Hmm. I wondered how a stationary, low stressed part like a drain pan could crack...unless it was defective from the beginning! Sobieski charged me to diagnose the problem as most HVAC companies would, but I expected some consideration because they sold me a defective unit. Then, the other shoe dropped: they quoted me $425 to repair it (that was just for labor; the part was covered under warranty). When I said that price seemed high, they didn't budge; the price is the price. At that point, I assumed it would be a difficult, all day job. Well, their 2 technicians completed the job in less than ONE HOUR. That's right. One hour. Although I have to give an A+ to the actual workers who diagnosed and fixed my unit, this disreputable firm sold me a defective unit and then had the audacity to overcharge me for the repair. I scheduled a service appointment with Sobieski a month in advance and didn't think much of the required lead-time as it was just a routine service call and I wanted to ensure the first appointment slot. I called the day before to confirm the appointment and was acknowledged after a curious amount of time on hold only to be called back later in the night where it was explained to me that they received a surge in "no heat" calls for the next day and that I could either reschedule or wait around to see if they are able to make it over. This was the exact situation that I was trying to plan around so I asked to reschedule on a weekend so I didn't have to reshuffle my work schedule again. They stated that weekends are reserved for emergencies, which is understandable, but I was hoping for a concession due to their inability to honor our appointment. This request was rejected. I understand that "emergencies" can be unpredictable and I can't be certain that they're being dishonest, but their handling of me seems suspicious, especially with tomorrow's forecast being in the 50s. I value service and will be looking for a better experience elsewhere. read more
