Ecowater is junk! Don't waste your money on this water…read moresystem. The unit is all plastic and looks/feels very cheap and not well designed. I only bought the Ecowater system because they were featured at Costco. I usually trust Costco, but I think Costco made a big mistake allowing Ecowater to advertise to its members. My Ecowater system only last 4 years and the replacement filters are super expensive. They will charge you $150 minimum to just come out to the house. I finally had enough with Ecowater when my system broke down. I called a friend who gave me the number to her water system guy. I called him up and he came over and told me that the system Ecowater installed was way too small for a house with 6 people. So, the new Water system has a larger capacity, it has a metal housing, the installation was more professional (copper pipes and the waste water pipes were installed along the house (not just running along the dirt ground like Ecowater did).... Totally different! AND it was much less expensive! About the amount that Ecowater wanted to just "FIX" my crummy, small, plastic, sloppy installed piece of junk! And... if that not enough... my new guy will come out to the house and change ALL the filters (every other year) for less than Ecowater will charge to just come out to the house and do NOTHING! Live and learn! Not everything at Costco is to be trusted!

What I appreciated most about Chris was that I never felt like I was talking to a salesperson. He was straightforward, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed interested in helping me choose the right setup for my house rather than just trying to sell me something. I came away from our conversation feeling like he was someone I could trust. Then Mario came out to do the installation, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. Mario was incredible. Our installation turned out to be more complicated than expected. The location we originally thought would work would have softened the water going to the outdoor hose bibs as well, which I specifically did not want because I use that water for my trees and landscaping. Mario caught this before doing the installation. Instead of just installing it where we originally planned and moving on, he stopped, explained exactly what he was seeing, and helped me figure out a better solution. He found another possible water line at the back of the house and told me he could test it first. He even reassured me that if we cut into the pipe and discovered that the plumbing wasn't routed the way we hoped, he would put everything back the way it was and wouldn't charge me for an installation that didn't work. That gave me a lot of confidence. We tested the line, and fortunately it turned out to be perfect. Within about 15 minutes, Mario was able to demonstrate exactly how the plumbing was divided: this line supplied the inside of the house, while the other line also supplied the outdoor hose bibs. That meant we could soften the entire house while leaving the outdoor water untreated, exactly how I wanted it. Mario was extremely patient, professional, knowledgeable, and just genuinely pleasant to work with. He could have easily taken the faster route, but instead he took the time to make sure the system was installed correctly for my house and my needs. That kind of attention and integrity is something I really appreciate. Between Chris taking the time to educate me and give me a fair price, and Mario going above and beyond during the installation, I couldn't be happier with my experience. We have several offices, we only use Culligan in one particular location. We purchased our equipment from Quench, before it was bought out by Culligan, to get out of contract with them. Yet they still show up unannounced and unscheduled to provide services not requested. To solve the continuing issues we have removed their equipment from that location and replaced it with Masters Coffee who has been great at our other locations. Stay as far away from this company as possible.

My experience with Valley Plumbing was shocking--and not in a good way…read more Early Thursday as I was leaving for work, I noticed water pooling around my water meter. It appeared I had an underground leak, so I immediately called Valley Plumbing. I've lived in the valley a long time and have seen their trucks everywhere, so they were my first call. The earliest dispatch they had was for that afternoon. While waiting, I decided to prep the area to speed things up. I shut off the main line, tracked down the leak, and excavated the pipe myself. It turned out to be a simple cracked PVC elbow on the 1 1/4" main line. When the technician arrived around 1:30 PM, I showed him the exposed pipe, and he agreed with my diagnosis. He told me he'd generate a quote. Having done plenty of sprinkler repairs over the years, I knew it was a straightforward fix, though I was hesitant to mess with the main line myself. When he came back with a quote for $1,114.00, I was floored. But with the water turned off all day and the late hour making it impossible to get another plumber out, I felt backed into a corner. I didn't want my family without water overnight, so I told him to go ahead. The actual repair took less than 20 minutes. He used one PVC elbow, one coupler, and about 6 inches of pipe--literally about $20 in parts. The rest of the time was spent sitting around waiting 45 minutes for the cement to set before turning the water back on. He arrived at 1:30 PM and was completely wrapped up, paid, and gone by 3:45 PM. I reached out to Valley Plumbing afterward, assuming there must have been a mistake or misunderstanding. I fully expected to pay a few hundred dollars for an emergency service call, but $1,100+ felt predatory. When a manager called back, he explained that $1,114 is just their standard "book rate" for touching a 1 1/4" line. When I asked how $20 in parts and 20 minutes of basic labor justified that cost, he essentially said that's just what they charge, mentioned their techs are professionally trained, and actually thanked me for digging the hole, noting it would have cost even more if they had to excavate. The repair was completed successfully, but charging over $1,100 for 20 minutes of basic PVC work on a pre-excavated hole is completely unreasonable. I will never use this company again.

Marissa was professional, understanding, and resolved the issue immediately by processing a refund for the price difference back to my card. It's rare to find such honest and responsive customer service these days. If you have any issues, I highly recommend calling and asking for Marissa--she truly cares about customer satisfaction.
