Worst service provider our company has ever used. Communication is horrible, the charge for services not provided and their service team causes more problems than they solve resulting in having to hire an outside plumber to resolve the issues. We have several offices, we only use Culligan in one particular location. We purchased our equipment from Quench, before it was bought out by Culligan, to get out of contract with them. Yet they still show up unannounced and unscheduled to provide services not requested. To solve the continuing issues we have removed their equipment from that location and replaced it with Masters Coffee who has been great at our other locations. @CulliganWater. Buyer beware. I have been a customer for 12 months and I am beyond frustrated. For the past 4 months, I have asked for a manager to return my calls to discuss issues. Office staff are very nice, say they will have a manager call me back. Have tried 5 times, no return call. I would advise going elsewhere if you want soft water. 1) Install was bad. Electrical cord running across cement pad in front of garage man door, bent the vent to garage and left it a mess, and more. Those are the main points. After complaining, they did come back to fix it. 2) Set up the system incorrectly. Was purging every 3 days instead of 13. The salt disappeared in a few weeks instead of 3 months. Finally was discovered and fixed after 7 months. Lots of salt paid for and no real benefits. Pictures are attached. You can see what I was bathing in, washing clothes in, drinking. My advice if you want professionalism and a good system for $4200, don't use Culligan. Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading. Got an increase in my monthly rate with no notice whatsoever. I called and got a nice person who expressed surprise that I didn't receive a notice about the increase. I told the operator that I was sorely disappointed about the lack of communication and the marginal service (the salt delivery person doesn't even put the cover on the container properly.) I advised the operator that I would be looking for a different company to install and maintain my water softener. She said someone would call me back and she would see to it that my complaint was addressed. No one ever called back. I'm looking for a different company now. read more

Way too expensive for what you get. Terrible service. Started with buying a water softener system. It never worked right. Still had hard water. Every time I had them come out to check it they said it was working even though it wasn't. Finally after several years we dumped that investment and got the monthly Rayne soft water service. They changed their name to Palm Springs water systems. I recommend them highly. We also purchased an under sink RO drinking water system from Culligan that had a large tank. To make one cup of RO water it discards one cup waste water. The water had a good taste but the unit took up a lot of space under the sink. They want you to pay a monthly service fee even though they only come out once a year to change 2 filters in the unit. If you don't want to do that it's up to you to change the filters which is super easy to do. The problem is getting the filters. They will not send them to you. You have to arrange to drive to Indio or Ontario to get the filters which aren't cheap. The unit we got cost us over $2,000. We had that for one year and the hassle of getting the filters was just too much so we got rid of that system and purchased a Waterdrop X12 under sink RO unit for under $1,000 and it doesn't have a large tank. It takes up so much less room and the water is great tasting alkaline water. Works fantastic. You can purchase the Waterdrop system on Amazon or through the company itself. Also you can order the filter replacements online and they send them to you. Super easy to replace. They are currently having a Black Friday sale and have unbeatable prices. The technical support is excellent too. We did hire a plumber to install the unit but there is a video on YouTube that shows you how to install it yourself if you are handy. So my recommendation is stay far away from Culligan. The service employees aren't even nice. They seem to not be very knowledgeable about the products either. The sales guy is nice until you make the purchase then he doesn't really want to deal with you. Check out Waterdrop for under sink RO drinking water. It's fantastic. read more

We have used Culligan for over 10 years. We have had to replace parts of the soft water system twice. This last time, they came out and left saying they had to order parts and the office would call back to set up a return appointment. A week and a half later, no call back, so I called them. They came out the following week and other techs noticed they ordered the wrong parts. They left, saying the office would call back with a return appointment time. Guess what? No return call. I called and made another appointment. On the day of the appointment, they didn't show up or call. I called the office. They told me the manager was checking on the system and they would call us back. I think you know my next sentence. The manager or office never called back. I am serious when I say do NOT use Culligan water. The women in the office are nice, but the techs lack any customer service skills. There is obviously a lack of the communication with this company and judging by my experience, it starts with the manager. read more

Horrible company! Customer service is non existent. They don't return calls or texts when you have trouble with their equipment. Their equipment doesn't work well at all. I paid over $7,000 for a water softener, and a reverse osmosis unit. The reverse osmosis water tasted worse than the tap water. I had 3 service calls after the installation.They changed filters, and fiddled around saying the original filters that were installed were used?? I finally asked them to remove the system after about a month. They promised to credit my credit card back for the system. That was a week ago, and they have not. The wifi enabled water softener does not work either. Every time the system regenerates, a brine sensor error occurs. I have heard multiple excuses for this from, the battery they used was dead, it was programmed wrong, I don't know, or we can remove the system and install a cheaper one to see if that works... Really?? All this company does is upsell their most expensive equipment, then they act like they don't want to hear from you. At this point, I am still out $ 7,000 , have a softener that doesn't work properly, and nobody will return my multiple calls and texts. This includes the sales person Frank who sold me the stuff, AND allegedly the service manager for the area named Jeff. I called Culligan with an open wallet, and trust since I had had a system from them in 2015. Let me say that the equipment, the installation, and the customer service is now horrific. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! Look elsewhere .I now face small claims battle, and a lengthy credit card dispute to get my money back. read more

Almost two months have passed since an initial leak in our Culligan equipment, and our Culligan nightmare continues. Instead of doing what's right - Culligan in Indio California has been stonewalling us and refuses to just take care of the issue. Here's a timeline of what they have put us through. Please take a few minutes to read this and see for yourself if this is a company you want to do business with. Count the visits and add up all of the time they have taken out of our lives - let alone the tremendous inconvenience. and unnecessary aggravation. You'd think these guys would feel badly and accept responsibility, but they have not: On Tuesday, July 5th, we noticed that our Culligan regeneration tank was leaking. We closed the bypass valve to mitigate our damages. After placing a call to Culligan, Tech Ruben came out on Wednesday, July 6th to repair a leak in our Culligan regeneration tank.  Shortly after he left, we flushed the master bath toilet and the line blew out causing water to spew out all over the place.  Fortunately I was home, heard the gushing water, and was able to shut it off before it caused any major damage - just a lot of water and a huge mess to clean up.  I called Ruben, whose number I had from when he called to let us know he was on his way and who wasn't far away.  He came back, said the line had blown out - that it was a "coincidence" and had nothing to do with the "repair" he had just completed. Heck of a "coincidence." He told me to go out and buy a replacement line and that he would install it.  I ran over to Home Depot, bought the line, and Ruben returned and installed it.  I provided supervisor Jeff at Culligan a receipt for the line which he said he volunteered to pay for (we didn't ask) - he never did. Late that same evening, we noticed that we no longer had any water pressure in the house: water was not coming out of any of the faucets, showers and was not going into the washer.  I called the Culligan after-hours emergency number - twice.  When I finally heard back from tech Cole - it was already after 10 - I told him what the problem was and he said he was confident he knew what happened and would be able to fix it - that he'd be able to get our water back on - but he said he would not be able to get here for about an hour and a half due to how far away he was.  We agreed because we had no water and did not want to wait until the next day.  Cole arrived about 11:30 PM and was able to see that regen resin had gotten into our water lines and clogged all of them - sinks, showers, toilets, washing machine, everything. It took him the better part of an hour to go around and clear the regen resin out from each of the clogged lines so we had water again.  Because the tank had obviously been compromised somehow, he took it away with him for repair or replacement - again.  So no soft water for us. On Thursday July 7, supervisor Jeff came out with Ruben to drain the water heater.  As he did so, we clearly saw that regen resin had made it's way into the water heater as well. We have videos of the water coming out of the water heater with that gold-colored residue coming out.  I also had them check the water line to the fridge to make sure that resin hadn't clogged that as well.   On Saturday July 9, Ruben returned to flush the water heater a second time to make sure it was clear of any residue resin that might once again clog the water lines. On Friday July 15, tech Miguel brought our tank back: same tank.  Please bear in mind that each of these visits involves us having to wait around several hours for the tech. We were surprised that Miguel had brought the same tank back to us, as Jeff had explained that the only thing that could cause resin residue to get into our water lines was that the manifold had been broken in the initial leak repair.  Miguel was unable to explain what had caused that or what had been done to repair it - he only said that it had been "rebedded." Great, right? On Monday July 18 I went into our garage and noticed a flood - the tank was once again leaking and this time water had accumulated around our file cabinets and storage boxes damaging both and the contents, and the base of a door leading to the outside.  I immediately shut off the bypass to once again mitigate our damages - damages which I sent Jeff at Culligan photos of. I called Culligan, spoke with Jessica and told her this really needed to be escalated at this point because we've had all of these ongoing problems with four techs coming out.  She said Jeff was out of the office, had been gone all the previous week, and was not due back until the following day.  I asked who her supervisor was in Jeff's absence and she said "Erica."  I asked her to please escalate this to Erica and to schedule a tech to come out to address this latest leak. After the technician left for a check up we had no filtered water. The system through the refrigerator with water and ice stopped. Everything was fine before and worked well. Now I need to hire a plumber and pay them to fix the issue. Do not have them do a service call. read more

Scheduled an appointment to have a rep come and check the existing system that we have, Frank came and although he's a sales rep, and doesn't do service but he checked everything and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He did everything I needed to know, checked the water level, the filter level, reset the system manually and explained how the system works. If you call and get Frank, then you're lucky and will be in good hands. read more

Horrible experience they never show up on time even with a 2 week prior scheduled appointment. They have on a few occasions like today or should I say tonight are expected at 6pm. I was told mid day arrival on all past and present appointments. Service is Horrible 1st time they hooked up my system backwards, meaning it pumped small Silicone resin into my home which had to be flushed out and cleaned from all my appliances. This was a nightmare they gave me 1 yr free rental. Should have taken a different route with them knowing 9 yrs would be grief. They have a huge turnover on employees, everytime I call that person no longer works there from techs to store managers. In 9 yrs it's been 3 changes since. ( Scott, Julio and now Jeff. Then there's service techs can't remember 1st ones name 2nd was Sam then Jose. Now it's Omar I believe.) What a joke wish there was a another provider in my area but there is not. read more

Out of all the services we have at our home Culligan water is the worse. When the representative (Frank?) came to our home he said every 3-4 months he would schedule to have potassium pellets refilled in our tank. After 8 months we never heard once from Frank. When I called and asked about it, he said I should be fine and he'd schedule it. No apology or excuses. The water I was more concerned about was the mineral water at the sink we have been drinking. He said how good it was and that we should be consistent at keeping the filter changed. After several calls to the office an appointment was scheduled to have someone out to refill pellets and that the filter at the sink would be attended to. The guy came, placed two bags in the softener container and was leaving. We asked what about the filter at the sink. He responded by saying it wasn't on his work order and that he'd call us back to schedule at a later date. It's been 3 weeks now and still not a word. Are we paying for plain tap water? The most frustrating thing is being left in the dark. All they have to do is pick up the phone and make a call. Let us feel like they care even a little after they got the check for the full amount. read more

Hector listened well and understood our concerns with the water softner. He performed a thorough problem analysis and got our water softner to work again. The worst customer service in the history of mankind! The installer came to my house today and rudely treated my 78 year old mother, who ask him to put the spout on the designated area as per written on the contract. He unprofessionally and rudely told her to why doesn't she close her eyes! An uncalled for statement, did he want her to play blind so he didn't have to correct his terrible job? Watch out everyone! This is not the only time that this company has been very unprofessional and rude! Beware! They do not deserve a star at all! Very bad service for Coachella Valley residents, Culligan of Indio does not actually exist, all calls are routed through their Ontario office. No one calls back for repairs and it takes weeks to get a repair technician scheduled to come to the home and when they do come out, they don't have parts to fix the system. They charge for a service call but do not do any work. I would be very reluctant to buy a system from Culligan if you live in the Coachella Valley because when it breaks, its very difficult to get it fixed. read more

We had a Water Conditioner system (aka saltless water softener) installed at the end of May. The price was right, the installation was quick and flawless, and it functions without issue. Our glasses, etc. are coming out of our dishwasher without spots and residue, and in general look great. In fact, all the dishes appear cleaner and brighter. We have noticed no mineral deposits on plumbing fixtures, and we notice less itchiness from showers/baths. In other words, all the benefits of a water softener, but without the salt! The salesperson, Frank Medina is great. He is super responsive and professional. He provides great customer service and gave us a great price. read more

I purchased a water softener from Culligan because the sales man stated their systems are one of the more reliable. After a year and a few months my water stopped being softened. I called Culligan and was told a service call is $155. I checked online to see obvious issues. No blockages or salt bridges causes issues. I bit the bullet and had a service repair man come out for the $155 fee. The flow meter went out causing the water softener to stop working. I thought great they know what the issue is. Then I found out they wanted $189.00 plus tax for the part, which looks like it should cost maybe $30 max. $358.65 later my water softener is supposed to start working again. Be prepare to pay exorbitant maintenance and repair bills for a Culligan system. read more

Palm Springs water, at least our area, is pretty hard. Faucets slow down from accumulation, and pipes will eventually clog with the salts. We shopped around and decided on Culligan because of their prices, years in the business of water, and a belief that they will be around long-term to service the system. Frank, the salesman was terrific, and (I'm ashamed to say I forgot the installer's name) the installer the absolute best. He was efficient, clean, discussed what and how. Very nice experience all around. And the price was right. One month later and we can already see the clarity of glass on shower doors, and water flow improvement as soft water cleanses out the old. I totally recommend Culligan. Sorry we didn't do it sooner. read more

I had their top of the line water softening system installed a few months back, along with a 2 year service contract and 10 year warranty. I opted to use their 3rd party financing option and will own the system outright once it's paid off. It ended up being a little under 4k for everything including installation. I was wary from the negative reviews here but I had zero issues with scheduling, consultation, and system performance. We had a slight mishap with the installation and lines getting crossed but the technician rushed back to correct it. It's made a huge difference - clothes get washed better with less soap, no mineral deposits around water sources, softer skin and hair. Definitely opt for natural soaps because more commercial ones have extra foaming agents which create that soft water slimy feel. One super important thing to know is that softened water will kill most plants, so if you have an irrigation system, you need to make sure they can install a splitter from the main line with one going to irrigation and the other going to/from the water softening system. You'll need access to that hard water source or use filtered water to manually water houseplants and such. read more

Got my water softener and water filter installed a month ago. Fter a week I noticed the back bathroom's water was not soft. Called them and they agreed to come out a few days later between 8:00 and 12:00. Later called and said something came up and they would be there between 2:00 and 5:00. Guy came out at 5:00 and reschedule due to " wanting more time to do a good job". Reschedule for a week later and it's 4:25 and no one has come out yet. Just had a system put in our house in Palm Desert. The Sales Rep, Fran Medina was wonderful, not pushy or aggressive, just gave us all the info we needed. Since this is a 2nd home, we are not there all of the time, Frank made sure the install was done prior to us leaving Palm Desert. Raymund, the installer, did a wonderful job. Not only did he arrive on time, he did excellent work. He had to dig in the front yard to connect the drain. You can not see where anything was dug out and replaced. It looks just like it did before. Had I not seen the trench with my own eyes, I would not have known anything was done to that portion of the yard. Kudos to a wonderful company with 2 very fine gentlemen that work for them. I am so glad the we selected them and would highly recommend them. Update: Had a leak problem, called the company and Jose was sent out immediately to fix the problem.
