I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined. As you can tell from the photos, I still have work to do (concrete coating, fence repairs, etc.) to match the beauty of my new cover.

During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. That kind of honesty and customer service is rare these days. Thank you Where Shade Is Made for the amazing service. I truly appreciate the professionalism and quick turnaround. In 2023, I purchased a large custom awning for my backyard, paying over $13,000. I was told it came with a warranty, which was one of the main reasons I chose this company. In April 2024, I noticed one of the corners had started tearing. I called the company immediately. The receptionist, Pam, mentioned she was retiring and gave me John's direct number. When I spoke with John, he said he needed to verify my warranty. A few days later, he confirmed it and told me that Brian would be contacting me to take care of the issue. I spoke with Brian on May 6 and even included a screenshot of our conversation. Since then, I've followed up multiple times via phone and text. He promised to schedule a tarp pickup--but never showed up. No updates, no calls back. Completely unreliable. As a repeat customer--having purchased not one but two awnings from this company--I expected better. The quality of their work is good, but that means nothing if they disappear the moment you need warranty support. If you're considering working with this company, be warned: they may deliver a great product, but if something goes wrong, you're on your own. The lack of communication and accountability is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I truly hope this review gets their attention, because I'd still like to see this handled the right way. If the company makes this right, I will gladly remove this review. But as of now, I cannot recommend them.
