We just moved and hired SoCal Movers for our move. I was contacted immediately after my inquiry online for a quote. I received great service and support from Tiffanie who is very pleasant and professional. We hired a three person crew and the rates were really reasonable. Moving day the crew showed up and from the moment they arrived they were excellent in getting our stuff loaded onto the truck. These guys were efficient, thorough, great interaction with us. The momentum continued when we arrived to our new home. Again, the crew went into beast mode and got the job done, period. Nothing was broken or damaged, and again, got the job done swiftly; no playing around or dragging out the process. We had the pleasure of having an expert assigned to us for our move. When I initially got the quote from Chris I didn't think he would get what needed out within the 3 hour minimum he was quoting. This was a very traumatic situation and one of the worst moves of my entire life. -Movers showed up 5 hours late. Of course emergencies happen so we tried to be understanding. - Two movers showed up and one had a house arrest bracelet on his ankle. He also seemed to be high on drugs and I think he did a line in my bathroom. - They broke my IKEA bed frame. I had no bed frame to sleep with that night. I walked out to see my bed frame by the dumpster. -Their boss didn't give me a refund at all. And only apologized. -They walked into my new neighbors apartment after we repeatedly told them which apartment we were in. This has caused tension with my new neighbors. -I called their boss several times during the move and she was so not helpful. Her name is Tiffany. It was absolutely terrible. I never leave reviews but I'm still traumatized by this situation and thought this might be helpful for you all. They might have lower prices but I promise you it isn't worth it at ALL. I recently moved from a one-bedroom apartment to another in the same complex and needed some help with some big items I can't move by myself. I searched for the best local price and Movers had the best price and was really responsive to my inquiries, so I booked my move. I was very pleased with the level of helpfulness and how efficient my two movers were. Instead on moving just the handful of big pieces, I ended up "upgrading" for about $60 more for a total price of $350 for moving nearly my whole apartment in 3 hr, 15 min. They had huge, refrigerator-size boxes for me to put all my loose pieces in and it saved me SO much work I didn't have to do on my own. So I hired the movers to move me over the weekend on a Saturday they were supposed to be there between 2 and 4 PM. At 4 PM I reached out to them and asked him where they were or were Their whereabouts. They told me they were running a little bit late and that they would be at my place at 5 PM. At 5:30 PM I called them asking them where they were at they told me they were going to be a little later because the job was taking a little longer but that they would be there to move me no matter what. At 6:30 they Canceled saying that they could do the job u till tomorrow. They offered me a $30 discount. I was so disappointed because I waited all day and people were waiting to move into the apartment I was leaving so we were all waiting. I also hired other movers to help with the move so that it would go fast and we were all just waiting around all day I lost so much money that day. The calls to the movers were so unprofessional I was questioning the whereabouts because they seemed a little out of it and I could hear a lot of music in the background which made me question if What they were telling me was the truth. Also every time I called there was a screaming child in the background very unprofessional I should've known by that that this was going to be the worst moving nightmare of my life. So Cal Movers were stellar. Jesse and Jared came out to move me out of my condo. They actually filled in for another company who had a call out due to illness. They really hustled and managed to get it done within the 3 hour minimum. I had a few heavy furniture pieces, but they managed to get it down and out without incident. They then followed me to the new house about 15 minutes away and unpacked it and set it in the rooms they needed to go. I highly recommend So Cal Movers. They wrapped and unwrapped all the furniture with moving blankets and plastic wrap and it arrived unscratched or damaged in anyway. You can't go wrong using this company. So let's start from day one they were 3 hours late ! Yes 3 hours late ! Next after a million smoke breaks the storage place that I was moving my furniture place closed on me they were tryna charge me a overnight fee to keep my things in they truck after they were 3hrs late after 20 mins back and forth they didn't charge me . So next day goes smooth moving things into storage unit they gave me 5% off for inconvenience. Sooooo 2 weeks later I'm moving into new house as they start to unload first thing they bring out 1000$ Samsung tv BROKE yes BROKE! Next thing 500$ glass coffee table cracked ! Yes cracked ! Next thing bed post broke !!! Drawers in dresser won't go in right anymore ! So they offer to get glass table fixed , said it would take 2 days it took 5. For the tv the best offer they gave us was the bill was 200$ plus they additional 200$ deposit we initially gave them plus 100$ tip we gave the movers was basically calling it even . Overall I would just say for your peace of mind don't use this company they claim the guy that broke all our stuff don't usually work for them but yet I see pictures of him on Yelp and on Instagram so that was a lie! read more

This is a total scam! Do not hire! First off, they show up 1.5 hours late. That didn't bother me too much but I was getting concerned if they were going to show up at all. I called them and they said they would be there soon, they just needed to 'stop at the store'. Well they showed up with burgers, fries, soda, and milk shakes. No kidding, sodas and milk shakes for each! They didn't even start eating on their way, kept it until they got here. Nothing gets you ready to move boxes better than a huge heavy meal, right? Well not with these guys. I showed them around and they of course needed to finish their food. I was pretty liberal but didn't realize all their eating time was on the clock. They started moving a few things in and in less than 1 hour they needed to take a 20 minute break. I again was not complaining yet because this would of course would not be on the clock, right? Well this was wrong, they were apparently very much in the clock, as would be the way things would go for their remaining time 'working'. They took so many breaks it was crazy! I understand they can't be constantly working but they seriously were on break more than half the time! I was assembling things (which I was told they would do) in the house and wouldn't hear anyone for 20 plus minutes so would go look for them. One would be on break and the other would be on a store run. LITERALLY NOT EVEN THERE!! This went on for a few hours. Then one of them twisted his ankle, so I was told if I wanted my couch moved in, I need to get on one end of the couch and start moving. I of course did. We got it into position and the second guy had to go attend to his hurt coworker. Now I feel sorry for the hurt worker though I have reason to suspect it was BS. Either way, time was apparently still ticking for both workers. Neither was working, one was supposedly hurt, the other was tending to him. It was crazy! I was unloading the truck myself as it was getting dark and these guys had not even unloaded the truck! So after that I was pretty much done with these guys, they had done maybe 2.5 hours of of 2 man work. Mainly just taking boxes off the truck and putting them in my garage 10 feet away which I could have done myself. I told them, 'that's it, you are done'. I was told, 'ok, that will be 6 hours you need to pay for'. I told him that was crazy and he didn't argue too much because he knew that was absurd himself but he got on the phone with Chris. Apparently he was told he needed 6 hours of pay. Now maybe he wasn't inclined to tell his boss how much they were slacking off, I can understand that but the 'hurt worker' was not in dispute. So they want me to pay for his time even though he hasn't worked for 2 hours?! I am the one moving couches, his buddy apparently needs to hold the ice to his ankle for an hour. Absolutely a scam! Do not hire these people! I am seriously lucky that I only hired them to unload a truck! I can't imagine how screwed I would be if they were any more involved in my move! I will also say that I believe all good reviews for them are completely false! I notice some of them name people who aren't involved in the move which is suspect. Also, the fact that some of these BS reviews suggest the tip you should give, that is just crazy! They also mention this on the contract you sign. What they don't say on the contract is that they will only work about 33% of the time you are paying them for. Work hard, and then get your deserved tip!! If you hire them, you need to be ready to stand over them and tell them constantly to get back to work, they will take serious advantage of you don't!! read more

They are the CHEAPEST for a reason. What a nightmare! Incredibly unprofessional, late, stank like BO, broke a ton of my stuff and "no showed" on Day 2! The long version: I was really happy with the booking process and working with the wife (Tiffany) of this family owned business. But everything went sideways the morning of the move. Tiffany had encouraged me to book two days because of the size of our home, sounds good, I booked a Saturday and Sunday 3 weeks in advance of my move. Sunday was Mother's Day... but they knew that when I booked! The morning of, I get a call from Angel (10 minutes before the end of their "arrival window" that the owner/ 4th hired mover "no-showed". This guy was in an absolute panic, threatening that he was just going to go home and couldn't believe this was happening and how he hates to start his day this way because it effects his tip.. I'm thinking to myself.. Your hysterical behavior right now is whats effecting your tip. I talk the guy off the ledge and he decides to grace me with his presence at our move. They show up and get to loading boxes only -because, as Angel repeatedly reminds me, (I'm sure the count for the day was around 5-6 times) that he has been doing this for 20 years and he knows what's up and that this is the best way ... ok bud, I hired you HOPING you knew better than me, the non mover. I come into the garage and there is a stink of B.O. that was unreal! Ok, no judgement, maybe you skipped the shower this morning in an effort to only be 2 hours late. I get it! Jesse and Corey O killed it! They were machines! Angel stayed in the truck stacking boxes for the most part but would occasionally remind me how he's allowed a 15 minute break for every hour they work... I'm like, damn, pretty good gig! Things were moving along nicely 2 hours in, so I ran to the new house for about an hour. I come back and it looked like they had hit a wall. The other Corey apparently was having a "heat related episode" on the scorching 75 degree day, so I totally get that he needed to lay down in the cab of the truck for a half hour. I thought maybe they were hungry so I ordered them a bunch of burritos and tacos from Del... they disappeared for another 1/2 hour for lunch break. Recharged and ready to knock this out now right?!? Angel starts panicking again that there is NO WAY this size house would happen in one day.. keep in mind that while yes, it's a 3200 sq ft house, I had sold 2 of the 4 beds, the couch, the kitchen table and washer/dryers. I told him, yes I understand.. it's why we booked two days. He was very concerned that the need to leave at 8 hours because it would really be very expensive after 8 hours (they charge time and a half after 8 hours). Of the 8 hours its actually only 7.5 because they say 1/2 hour is "drive time" to get to our new home 1.5 miles away. Oh, ok. So if your actually counting move/work time, minus heat related episodes (it's called withdrawls dude), smoke breaks, lunch break and drive time- they only actually worked for about 6 hours. So in the end they put half the stuff in the house but put the rest in the garage.. and the other 1/3 of our stuff was at the old house.. but no worries they would be back the next day right? Sunday morning I call and text tiffany (no answer, no response) .. call Angel, straight to VM... again 10 minutes before they are scheduled to arrive, the owner Chris calls. He starts in on telling my about how Angel and his wife are fighting because it's Mother's Day and she's pissed he's going to work so now Angels not coming in... I'm like... I booked this 3 weeks ago, you took the job knowing it was Mother's Day?! Not to mention that it's incredibly unprofessional to tell me all that crap- all I want to know is that movers are on their way to finish the job. Movers did finally show up at noon... but IT WAS A DIFFERENT company... Chris nor Tiffany ever called to tell us what was going on. But it was the best thing that this awful company could have done. Two awesome guys (Manny and Steve) from Clean Cut Movers showed up and HUSSELED! They moved the last 1/3 of the house that took 4 guys 4 hours, in just 1.5 hours. They were polite, not stinky, no drama and were there to do a job. What a disaster!! Save your self the headache and spend the extra couple bucks to get a professional company. They are all wonderful and so professional. I had 2 moves within a week of each other. One move was for my husband and me and the other move was for my elderly dad. To begin, Tiffany made sure she scheduled the right amount of movers and trucks for me and helped me with planning a smooth move. During the first move Nick, Jesse, Jonathan, and Edgar did an outstanding job for a very difficult 2 flights up move. This company does a terrible job and they do not honor their quotes nor do they keep their word. They left some shelves on the truck and assured us they would ship them to us. The unit is worthless without the shelves. We have been waiting for 10+ days and they have blown us off, after telling us multiple times we would have a shipping number to track. They damaged numerous items, again assured us they would send someone to do repairs. We paid them in good faith, via Zelle, after telling us they accept cash or credit card but would charge 5% extra for card use. We had the cash to pay them but the owner Chris did not trust his workers with the cash. And one of them is supposedly his brother. They also ended up charging us about $1000 more than they bid, saying one of the reasons for the up charge is that it took them 11 hours to drive between Huntington Beach and Las Vegas. Who takes 11 hours to make that trip. They are not honest, careless at best with their work. They claim to wrap furniture, they did not, hence the damages to multiple pieces of furniture. I am going to report their unethical business practices to any and all agencies that record this type of service complaint, in addition to telling my experience on every single site they advertise on. While there isn't much we can do to get restitution short of suing them, other people should be aware of their unethical and dishonest business practices. read more
