My husband and I found this spot on Yelp while in the area and stopped by for lunch today. I was impressed with the ordering system which made it easy and efficient for the customer to be able to customize their sandwich and order. The gentleman up front was extremely helpful and made some great recommendations for us. I wish I got his name, he was great and friendly! We ordered three different sandwiches of which were recommended by him and every single one hit the spot! We got them to go to have with family at home, we had a bit of a drive home so they weren't as hot but man they were still delicious regardless! I can't imagine had we had them there right away. The Italian supreme was full of flavor and meats. I'm from New York and a good Italian sub is rare in California but SoCal subs nailed it. Whoever's bright idea was it to completely forgo actual ppl taking orders and not being able to fully customize sandwiches anymore isn't very bright. I really LIKED (past tense) this place and since they moved to app only I haven't had a chance to try it yet... until tonight. Not only was the app confusing they don't even let you customize. (Confusing because you have to GO BACK and make it a combo instead, unlike EVERY other ff app it gives you the option right then and there). I know it's been less than year since I been there. I know I was there last year a couple of times and the guy working there said they haven't put provolone on the SoCal in 3 years. Mmm no? I've always been able to get provolone. Just the fact they spewing out bs and took away customizing is enough for me to not be loyal anymore. Not every one likes mozzarella on their sandwiches and some of us like hollowed bread, THANK YOU JIMMY JOHN'S. I'm going to assume since they made all these changes, albeit to "modern" and "keep up with the times" that they are no longer bang for your buck and the quality MIGHT have gone down. One of the owners reached out after seeing the initial review and clarified that they have been having an issue with their bread vendor - their sourdough loafs have been coming undersized and the vendor didn't change it until they got the photo. Owner was very upfront and also sent a credit for me to order again. Went twice today. The new cheesy bears are really good - cheesy, garlicky bread. Went back to check if the previous bread issue had gotten fixed. It did! Sandwiches came out tasting pretty good as usual. The service here is top notch and the owner really cares about his customers' experiences. ~Original review~ Been here a few times. Usually Subs are good, and the service is friendly and quick. We visited this place for the first time today. The owner greeted us and showed us how to operate the electronic menu screen. Sandwiches are really good! The negative is you can't give your order to a worker, you must do it on the kiosk they have or order on the website. If you are not good at that kind of thing they seem to get annoyed. Also, no cash accepted, must pay with debit through the kiosk. You can tell they don't really want to deal with the public. They want to fulfill on line orders and get you out of there. But like I said they do make good sandwiches. read more

So Cal Subs is located right off the 215 / Barton in Grand Terrace. It is a family owned shop serving up sub sandwiches . I come here for their amazing lunch special . You get a sandwich, a drink, soft serve ice cream cone and two sides (they have an assortment of chips and cookies). It's an amazing deal ! Service is always good and the people here are polite . Great subs and garlic bread! I ordered the So Cal which is turkey, avocado and bacon. It also comes with cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, oil & vinegar. They said they are a toasted sub place but you do have the option to order cold, which I did. The garlic bread was larger than I expected and comes with marinara sauce. My son had half of everything and loved it as well. They don't accept cash or phone orders. You'll have to order online or through the app. If you go in person you'll order on a screen but they will help if needed. It's pretty self explanatory. I didn't download the app until after I tried the food. I'll be back but will probably just take it to go. They do have seating and is very clean. read more
