We came here on a double date with friends. The restaurant is really good by Northbrook standards (my hometown, where I am perpetually disappointed with either the quality of the food or the prices or both) and average by Chicago standards. As you can see in the photo, the dining room is new, attractive and wide open- therefore quite noisy. Service was attentive and the menu appealing. We got two pasta dishes that were not quite al dente as promised, but reasonably fresh and tasty. We also shared the Burrata Caprese which frankly sucked (underripe tomatoes, hard burrata, missing basil, and inadequate balsamic reduction) and the Social Spreads which was stingy on the pita and chutney. Our friends were also mostly pleased but under-excited about their pasta and fish. Finally worth mentioning, I got the pomegranate margarita which had salt on the glass (totally wrong for a fruity drink) and was just a bit off in flavor. My wife got a glass of wine which took awhile sorting through a couple of glasses that were not good. I find that people in my area don't demand much from fine dining establishments, so this place will do great. The more discriminating diner will have to decide whether to drive a distance for exciting cuisine and ambiance or settle for a decent place in town. read more

We went here for a friends birthday dinner. They have a cute setup with live music and a fun atmosphere. It took a very long time to have someone come over to our table and take our order. It then took a while to get our drinks. When it was time to order food. We ordered all appetizers and main course at once and asked him to space it out. Nearly 45mins later all the food came out at once and was extremely salty. I enjoyed the beet salad the most out of all the food we ordered. read more

She never came back on her own accord to ask if we wanted another drink, or to clear some plates. In fact, no one ever came by to clear any plates. We had the "social spread" and crispy zucchini for appetizers, dips lacked flavour, the zucchini weren't crispy at all, and a bit more on the greasy side.. My boyfriend and I, shared a chicken kebab, more than enough for the two of us, and again, the chicken + rice that went along with it lacked flavour. Could've used more cheese quantity and variety to balance all the meats served. But overall a beautiful board to go with your drinks Mussels with red sauce - the mussels were fresh, warm, and the red sauce was dip worthy. So good! It's hard to find good mussels these days but this hit the spot. Octopus - cooked perfectly! Such a good sized octopus that it's easily shareable Crispy zucchini - a great shareable appetizer with the best white sauce dip. It's addicting. Drinks FIG OLD FASHIONED. must try. Great interior! It's so clean and pretty to take photos of. I highly recommend the crispy zucchini for starters. It was so crispy yet flavorful along with the top they come with. We also ordered a burger that comes with BLACK buns!! The salad was so freshly made and crunchy too. The workers were nice and it wasn't busy so I don't think reservations are required often. The food was good. Not great. I had the lamb. It did not have much seasoning and came with 4 small wedges of potato. The spinach and goat cheese salad didn't have a lot of flavor either. I had wanted the mussels but when we got there at 6:30 they were already out. 2 people ordered Diet Coke. They brought drinks out but we questioned whether or not it was diet and someone came out and said they didn't have Diet Coke because someone set up something wrong. We tried this recently for lunch and was little disappointed we ordered a Hummus platter the naan that came with the platter the first time were cold and hard. For the main course I ordered a salmon dish and had a piece of soft chicken looking piece on the rice. Friday night, dinner with friends. Ordered a Manhattan straight up, which was served in a martini glass, which is OK, but nowadays most restaurants serve that in a coupe glass. Either way, the glass wasn't filled up as much as it should have been, but it did have a Luxardo cherry. The drink had too much sweet vermouth, so when I ordered the next round, I told the waitress to tell the bartender to go easy on the vermouth. She either didn't deliver the message or the bartender didn't care. Sounds petty, but good drinks are crucial. The mussels were OK, could've used some broth in there to soften up the hard slices of bread that came in the bowl. Caesar salad could've come from the nearby McDonalds. It took a while for the entrees to come out, it seemed like everyone who sat down around us after we had ordered were already eating. Our friends had kebabs (chicken & shrimp) and they said they were good but took most of it home. My wife had some kind of rigatoni, which was good, not so much for the little pieces of sausage in the sauce. I ordered whitefish, which failed to come out with the rest of the dinners. The waitress stopped by a few times to tell me that it would be out in a minute, but that didn't happened. Finally, the hostess came by to ask what I ordered. She went into the back and from where I was sitting, I could see both the waitress and the hostess staring into the kitchen, hoping for a whitefish to appear. Needless to say, by the time I got my fish, everyone else was done. It wasn't bad, but I felt like an outcast, eating alone. I thought they might take the fish off the bill, but they didn't. My wife ordered a Neapolitan cake for dessert which wasn't bad and I fully expected the hostess or waitress to cheerfully comp dessert in an effort to apologize for my MUCH delayed meal. They didn't do that either. They do not seem to have a well organized kitchen and could probably use some better management and/or staff training. read more

We appreciated that they have gluten free options including gf pasta, burger w gf bun (sadly can't have the fries as the fryer is shared with flour products), tasty chicken kebabs w rice (pita not gf so sub veggies), and flavorful burrata and tomato salad. We waited a long time to be served dinner even though the place was almost empty. I was extremely disappointed in my experience here. The ambiance and vibes are very nice, but aside from that, it's lacking so much. I ordered the Cornish hen and it was so beyond dry and had absolutely no flavor. It needed lemon or spices, but it was the blandest piece of chicken I've had for $30.. It also came with roasted potatoes which were so hard and not fully cooked.. My husband got the chicken kabobs and he said that it was so dry and also cold. I would have flagged our waitress, but she was also very MIA. Returned for lunch since we enjoyed dinner so much. Lunch menu same prices as dinner menu. This time I tried the Grilled Octopus. It was expertly cooked, tender and very tasty. This is not a shareable item. The smallest Octopus tenacle served with humus and pita. $30 after tip, no drink is too expensive for lunch. What a great find!! A small group of us had dinner here last night and it was terrific. It's a very pretty and welcoming restaurant and very comfortable. The hostess and waiter made us feel very welcome. There is a wonderful variety of cocktails: all delicious and reasonably priced. I had a Paloma and it was made with fresh juice and not Fresca (which is how it is served at some spots). We tried the spread assortment with pita and it was great. Their pita is so delicious! We all ordered different entrees and we were all very happy with what we ordered. I had the lamb, and it's served as a sort-of deconstructed gyros, with pita, Tzaziki, cucumber salad and perfectly cooked slices of lamb, in a very pretty presentation. The lamb was cooked perfectly. Their wine list is excellent. Throughout our meal, our waiter popped in to check up on us, without being intrusive. The hostess did the same. Everyone in our group ordered something different, but we tried a bit of each other's and they were all delicious! We were all too full for dessert, but their dessert menu looks amazing. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food they are serving. It's in a small strip mall, Plaza del Prado, on the west side of the mall- so there is PLENTY of parking. We went on a weekday. The place was pretty empty. The hostess was not welcoming, she acted as if we were bothering her when we gave her our name for the reservation. It continued with our server. We tried to be social with him with no success. Service was very slow. The waiter recommended the lamb. So I ordered the lamb. It was terrible!! I was unable to eat most of it because it was so tough. By the time he came back it was simply too late to return it. I left hungry for sure.
