Great spot right next to Palwaukee Airport. Great gigantic Burgers, fries, and calamari had previously. Today bucket of lite and fantastic buffalo wings, plus GameDay buffet for $25. Top quality bar food. Friendly service and well run sports action. Highly recommend.

My work team and I went to Union Ale House to take part in their Wednesday night trivia competition. We had a fun time. There is something on the menu for everyone and lots of drink choices too. The food was tasty. Service was good, which for a group of our size was impressive. The only two criticisms I had were that the bathroom could use improvement and the parking lot needs help. Not enough spaces to park and I parked by a very scary looking ditch. We'd definitely go back again.

Our group enjoys the menu variety and friendly place to hang out after rehearsal

Our late night large group of varying sizes comes in almost every week after a rehearsal to eat, drink, relax, and socialize. Owner Jimmy is great -- he and the kitchen staff provide much tasty food for us, and he's quickly addressed and resolved any service issues we've had over the time we've gone there (there have been a couple). I have yet to settle on one regular thing to order, because there are so many that I like on the menu. We're typically there on Tuesday, which is their Taco Tuesday night, with taco salad, taco specials, and chicken tortilla soup. They've have many other great soups, too, like broccoli cheddar, mushroom, cream of potato, and French onion and chicken noodle (I think both of these are available daily). There's a lot of variety on the menu -- everything from chicken wings (regular or boneless), to burgers, to saganaki, to pasta, to Chinese dumplings, and the pizza is pub style (thin crust, cut in squares) and very tasty. Parking is ample in the lots on both sides of the building, the bathrooms and dining area were fairly recently remodeled and updated, and it's a great late-night place to hang out. In additional to Jimmy, special kudos to our regular server, Bob, who you can also hear sing great karaoke if you're there on Thursday nights, and bartender Lacy, who's always super-friendly and welcoming.

Probe Where they charge the $2

I was amazed in a bad way, that this place charged me $2 for a small glass of Ice when I ordered a $10 double shot of a Johnny Walker Black Label Scotch whisky and had the guts to charge me Tax on this $2 service of Ice to add up, it's not the money buy any means, but the abuse to add up money to the check at any cost, this is a good place that is out off my list to go back again! Abusing on the good will of the people is not how you bring customers.

Our server was amazing and so kind, and the food was fresh and delicious. We actually went back another time but didn't get any pictures since we were so hungry. The "pig skins" (potato skins, really) weren't our favorite but we LOVED the onion rings, ribs, mac n cheese with steak, cheeseburger pizza, and the Fire Burger. The outside and decor may not be fancy, but don't let that stop you from enjoying their yummy food.

Heads up: we didn't make a reservation, and they definitely prioritize people who do. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a table. It's a busy Tuesday spot, and they seemed a little short‑staffed for how packed it was, but everyone was doing their best and staying friendly. And honestly, once the food came out, the wait didn't matter anymore. Because let me tell you -- the Maxed Out Mac 'N' Cheese pizza with the triple‑stuffed asiago cheese crust was the highlight of my entire day. It's like an Alfredo pasta and a pizza had a ridiculous, cheesy baby, and I mean that in the best possible way. The BBQ sauce and jalapeños on top were incredible. If anything, I wish they'd gone even heavier with both. We also tried a bunch of other pizzas as a group: - Margherita - just okay - Tuscan Vegetarian - surprisingly good - Meat Lovers - classic and solid - Moretti's BBQ - smoky and sweet - House Favorite (thin crust) - super crispy and tasty Everything came out hot, fresh, and loaded with toppings. If you're thinking about going on a Tuesday, either make a reservation or be ready to hang out for a bit. But the food absolutely delivers, and that mac 'n' cheese pizza alone is worth the trip.

I actually drove by this place for years and never ventured inside, so it was nice to meet there…read morewith several friends for dinner. It's a lot larger than it seems from the outside. They have a large outdoor seating area with its own counter and bar area. Half of the inside is a dining room, the middle is counter bar service, and the other side is a sports book with a lot of large TVs to watch horse racing and other sporting events. There are TVs all around the restaurant, so we could watch various sports going on that evening. On the night we went, ten wings were nine bucks and you can select two sauces or dry rubs. They were also doing some drink specials and drinks weren't expensive either. We also shared cheese curds and pretzel bites before we all ordered wings. The curds were curds. The problem with cheese curds is that if they're not super hot, they're just meh. I get that businesses make good money from them, but ugh, not a great item to order. The pretzel bites are fine as well. They were okay. Again, not an issue with Player's Pub, it's just the nature of these two different appetizers. Anyway, I got the wings special with a side of tots and ranch and included a side salad. The salad was a nice size and was fresh. I really didn't expect, well, I didn't know what to expect, but it was a good salad. The ranch is good, too. They have a great ranch game. And was a perfect sauce to dip my tots in. The wings were very good too. I got the hot honey and the bourbon-bacon sauces on my wings. The wings were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. They had a bunch of sauces and I would definitely order them again and try of their other sauces. I'm also part of a burger club, and they have several burgers on their menu, so we'll have to come back to try their burgers. Our server was also very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. We'll definitely be back to Player's Pub and catch a game and grab some great food.

We were lucky enough to have the same host again -- Denise -- who is super friendly, easy to talk to, and makes you feel like a regular right away. That kind of familiarity really elevates the whole experience. We kicked things off with the Mexican wings and WOW... those were on another level. The seasoning is completely unique -- bold, flavorful, and something you don't come across often. Absolutely unforgettable. It's one of the new menu items that we tried . Then came the garlic Parmesan wings... and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in heaven. Perfectly crispy, loaded with that rich, garlicky flavor -- exactly what you want in a wing. Another new item ! For my main meal I had the chicken BLT, which was seasoned perfectly and topped with this garlic spread that added an amazing contrast. Every bite just worked. My hubs had the Philly steak sandwich. Totally one of the highlights. The steak was incredibly tender, cooked just right, and paired with the perfect amount of mushrooms -- not too much, not too little. Everything was balanced and packed with flavor. And my drink of the night !? The hibiscus margarita completely stole the show for me. Refreshing, slightly sweet, and honestly kind of addicting -- I could've had a couple more. Overall, an incredible experience (again). Great food, great vibes, and great service. Safe to say we'll be back... probably sooner than later! Maybe even next weekend !

This is one of those spots that doesn't try to be something it's not. It leans all the way into being a true neighborhood sports bar, and that's exactly why it works so well. Walk in and you're immediately wrapped in that familiar hum of TVs, cheers, and conversations a sports bar should have! The patio is nice, but it lacks TV's which would be great with some cover, but oh well. It's a good setup, and a huge reason folks keep coming back. Food-wise, burgers, wings, fries... nothing pretending to be fancy, just solid and satisfying. People consistently call it "good pub food" with a fun atmosphere, and that's honestly the perfect description. What really makes it stand out, though, is the atmosphere. It somehow balances being lively without being overwhelming. You can come to actually watch the game, or just hang out and soak in the energy. Regulars, first-timers, families, groups of friends, it all blends together into this easygoing, welcoming crowd. Is it flawless every single visit? No. It can get busy, things might take a little longer during peak times, and like any well-loved local spot, there are moments that aren't perfect. But none of that sticks with you. This was a spur-of-the-moment choice but ended up being very fun for drinks and dinner!…read more I LOVE tiki bars and my husband noticed this one in the area near where we happened to be on Google maps, so off we went! We had about a 15 minute wait for a table but it gave us time to peruse the menu in the car. They offer many classic tiki cocktails, a page full of seasonal drinks, a page of "Designated Driver" mocktails (nice to have an option for something other than just a Shirley Temple!), Polynesian appetizers and entrees, and then Lola's Pizza. For drinks, I got the seasonal Gingerbread Painkiller and my husband got a Green Flash mocktail. (Pro tip on the seasonal drinks: check the regular cocktail menu to see how many skull and crossbones are listed under the regular version of your drink, if applicable, to see if it's a super strong one!) Mine was creamy and spicy but quite powerful. Props to our waitress, Makayla, who checked if anyone at the table was epileptic, because normally the "flash" part of my husband's drink is a strobing LED ice cube; I actually am photosensitive, so it came in the drink in non-strobe mode and just glowed an alien green. She said this was the first time it had actually paid off to ask, but I'm glad she did! The food was tasty: I ordered rumaki, an old-school appetizer of bacon-wrapped water chestnuts that you don't see very often these days, and he got loaded fries. We also got a small Lola's Pizza, which was very good, with a crisp but also chewy crust. The atmosphere here is pure tiki, with a fountain, swag lamps, bamboo, and Hawaiian-influenced Christmas music playing for the season. Lots of big groups here; everyone seemed to be having as good a time as we were! What a laid-back gem in Arlington Heights! We'll be back. Mahalo!
