Dan was very nice with 30 years of experience but doesn't know how to do acrylic nails. He did a very poor job. My nails are a mess and extremely thick! I mentioned the thickness, he said they are always thick, he just ignored me. I've had acrylic nails many times, a good nail technician knows how to eliminate the thickness. Wish they allowed pictures, which shows all the flaws. I'm puzzled by the darkness under my nails, as they are clean? The technicians and front desk ladies receive 5 stars from me. This review is for management. I've been going to Social Nail Bar for about 2 years now, and Michelle does my pedicures exactly the way I like it. I can read without feeling rude, and the pedicure (with regular polish) lasts 3-4 weeks with nary a chip. My brother's wedding is this weekend, so on Friday I decided to get gel cat eye nails in addition to my regular pedicure. The pedicure was amazing as always, but the manicure was just awful. She didn't take me back until 30 minutes after my appointment time, so maybe she was running behind, but there was a visible gap between my cuticle and where the polish began. I thought I could just deal with it, but when every person I met over the next couple of days pointed out the gap, I knew I had to get it taken care of. Luckily, Social Nail Bar has a 7-day repair policy posted in the waiting area, right? Nope. Every technician I showed the nails to said that's how it's supposed to look and refused to fix it. I finally just booked a gel color change to get my nails looking presentable. Don ended up fixing my nails today and explained that sometimes the cat eye polish shrinks up, and recommended some polishes that wouldn't shrink. He took extra care to ensure that my nails looked good, and was overall lovely. The front desk lady tried to help me get a discount on my services, but management refused. She was also lovely. I ended up paying $120 for a basic gel manicure and a beautiful regular pedicure. Plus, the $30 in tips because I'm not going to stiff the manicurists just because managment sucks. If they had just admitted it looked bad and offered to fix it, I would've been fine. Everyone has an off day. That's what the policy should be for. Not to mention, I asked for a repair multiple times, was denied, finally agreed to the color change, and then was told upon checkout that since I got a different service, they couldn't comp the service. Anyway, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place any longer. Which is too bad, because again, Michelle gives the best pedicures ever. read more

I just had a $95. Pedicure When the nail technician showed me a menu that said 70. At check out the girl said, "gel is extra" It cost $25. To paint my nails on top of the pedicure? Seems obnoxious. I was a loyal customer for 2 1/2 years and changed my appointments multiple times when my technician(s) had a conflict. I also tipped 25% each time even if the services felt rushed (most always they were good hence why I went back). Visiting from out of town and this salon is conveniently located near the hotel I'm staying at. I did not have an appointment, but they were able to take me in right away. It was my first time here and they asked what I normally get so they suggested a package for me. The sea salt scrub was the best I've had before as it lathered like soap. Scheduled a pedicure. Received a dry feet polish removal before the quick cold water feet in tub less than a soak. Then, an attempted toe nail trim, leaving ingrowns to fend for themselves. Ouch! Toe nails are uneven. Then, an uncomfortable quick smear of lotion on the ankles, front of legs mid calf, and top of feet. Hot towel wipe of legs, no wrap. Polish is clumpy and uneven. Total time for appt maybe 25-30 minutes total. A complete disappointing waste of time and money. Been coming here for years to stay loyal. This was my last appointment. Sad & disappointing. The girls upfront are amazing. But the back of store is not the same. Polish on the shelves is old, smells of added polish remover. I'm just done & over it. Thanks for years. Respectfully. read more

This place has turned into a real dump. I've been going here almost 10 years and will not be back. I scheduled a pedicure and the woman gets up and leaves for 15 minutes to go and eat and didn't say anything. Shouldn't be scheduling clients during a lunch break. When I called to make the appointment, I let them know I needed a gel X nail fixed and I had nail art. Nothing Picasso like or hard to do and the woman told me no problem; just a simple checkered board nail. She tells me she has someone to do it after my pedicure. There was no one. And my "fixed" nail looks like a kindergarten teacher with no nail experience did it. No one cared to help or do anything. Horrible customer service and customer experience. This used to be the place to go. Now it's just like any other whole in the wall nail place. Don't let it being in the district fool you. read more

I went in for full set of gel x nails and within a week, I had several nails lifting. I went in to get them repaired and was told after I made my appointment that I would have to pay $5 per nail (minimum). I have 6 nails that need to be repaired and i paid $90 for the original set. I do not recommend this salon. They clearly do not care about customer retention. read more

Trang is amazing! She takes her time and really loves what she does. I first starting coming back in September of 2021 and my nails were unhealthy. We worked together to get my nails back to being amazing. And now they are something I am very proud of now! She always got me out of my comfort of square nails then into almond and now a little Stelio. She is so creative with designs that I bring in! I won't let anyone else touch my nails!! read more

I think I was expecting more from a nail salon at The District, but found it be just okay overall. I found myself here as I've had a love hate relationship with my usual spot, GVR. Social Nail Bar was able to fit me in for a same day pedicure appointment which I appreciated. I was taken back at my appointment time without waiting. The nail shop wasn't the nicest I've been to, but wasn't terrible either. It seemed pretty clean and all of the tools used were unpackaged at the start of my service. The ambiance is noisy nail salon. It did seem that they are very popular for manicures. My pedicure was okay. The technician was meticulous with cuticle clean up and the polish was perfect. He got distracted at one point and rubbed the foot file on the top of my foot for a minute. He stopped when I jerked away, but I still ended up leaving with an area of broken skin. When I was done I also noticed that he cut the corners of the nails on the large toes back really far. So I've had to pay extra attention to making sure those don't turn into ingrown nails. The pedicure I received was $50. So the cost is closer to GVR where the cheapest pedicure is $60. The service itself and the shop reminded me more of salons that charge $30-$35. The quality and the price didn't match up for me. read more

Went in for a pedi with a friend. My tech was very thorough and took their time getting my feet back into shape. I appreciate the effort however I was cut and it was very painful. It's been 1week and the cut is still there so it's pretty deep. Also they left behind old polish in the sides which is noticeable as I got a very neutral color. My friend was also cut and was not happy about it. Pedi's shouldn't be painful but I understand accidents happen. The tech can obviously see they cut me and said nothing. There was a man in there who was very upset and complaining so 3 people, 3 different techs simultaneously getting cut/hurt may not be a coincidence. read more

Well I was excited to go to this place but after the experience and lack of communication from what their services cost. It was ridiculous. And super disappointing. We were told the pedicure/manicure would be $65 pulse additional $25 for two. But the time we were done our bill was $300!! Wth! They added charges that we were unaware of and did not communicate with us when we first came in. I asked for the manager and it blew my mind her tone, how defensive she was and her unwillingness to fix the over charge of $120. She also made a comment about her employees working off that money to try and make me feel bad. Absolutely not professional. She made it sound like the business was hurting and that they won't be able to take but $17 off. It was such a bad experience and if you go in there I'd prepare for the up charges they won't tell you about. I then asked for the owners name and she wouldn't give it to me, and said I can just go through her. Little did she know I was told she was the owner. She lied to us and made us feel undervalued and felt like she was stressing financially with their biz and it's reflecting in the miscommunication of her staff and herself. What they are doing to customers to get more money without full communication is right out WRONG!! The employees who worked on us were great, but the owner and manager aren't professional or care about taking care of their customers when they were in the wrong. I'm a business owner and have hopes that they will get their act together otherwise this business won't last. Be kind. On May 8, I got a great pedicure here. My experience was great so before I left, I set a gel mani appt. for 3 weeks from then in preparation for my daughter's wedding. Then, a week before my appt., I also set an appt. for my daughter to that same time slot, 11am. So, they had sufficient time to plan for us coming in. The morning of the 11am appointments and just one hour prior, I received a confirmation text for our appointments that were now set for 12pm. We'd already made other plans for that afternoon and noon was too late so I called the salon to get clarification. I was told that they wouldn't have time for us at 11am. I expressed that it was unacceptable because this was for wedding prep and they offered that we come in at 11:30am. That was not what we had requested, so I had to rush to find appointments elsewhere (and this was Memorial Day, so many salons were closed). This added a lot of stress to our already busy schedule in preparation for the wedding. They apologized, but offered no real solution and no real reason for pushing our appointments out an hour. They could have at the very least called me to let me know of the time change. I suspect that a regular customer was booked prior to me and they take priority, just my hunch. I thought this was going to be my regular spot, but they've lost out on mine and my family's business. read more

SERVICE! my sister suggested Social Nail, and from her positive experiences, i decided to give it a go. my friend and i made an appointment through Yelp Messaging, and Caryn (the owner) replies very promptly and friendly. we arrived about 5 mins early, and were asked to pick our colors and then wait until they were ready. my friend went to get her pedicure, and i to get a full set gel + coffin styled. Ayden did my nails and it's easily the best work i've had! From the moment they answered the phone until I left they did a fantastic job. Kayla booked my appointment. As someone who does not get manicures I really did not know what service to request and told her what I wanted. She suggested that I get Gel X nails which were perfect for me. Upon arrival they had me pick my gel color and I didn't wait for too long at all. Kristina did my manicure. She explained everything to me and after showing her a picture of what I wanted she helped me choose the gel colors that were right instead of what I had selected. She was able to do exactly what I asked for. The nails do not feel fake, thick, or heavy as I have experienced in the past. She did a fantastic job. Jack did my pedicure. My last tech at a different salon had cut my toenails kind of funny. (My bad for not stopping him) Jack was able to correct the problem for the most part.
