My breakfast was delicious and satisfying. The cheese eggs were terrific. Service was prompt and even though they were busy. Bathrooms were clean and smelled like bleach which I like to see at a restaurant. Tried Social on Main this morning for the first time. It's one of the few, if not the only, place in BR for breakfast, and it's a very welcome addition, particularly since the closing of Sunny Rock some months ago. First, let me say that if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Portions are generous and well -prepared and presented. One of us ordered the "Carl Freeman," which was country ham with eggs, hash browns and a biscuit, along with an additional side of sausage gravy. The ham was slightly overcooked (easy to do with country ham), but it's a full center cut ($12). The side of gravy was good at an additional cost of $4. Hot chocolate was terrific, served in a large mug, topped with whipped cream ($3--same prive as a cup of decaf but without an available refill). I got the "Uncle Billy Barker," which at $13 is a huge serving. Three eggs, 3 very tasty bacon strips, 2 large sausage patties, hash browns and a biscuit. I thoughtlessly also ordered a side of gravy, which, although good, was overkill. Both had a garnish of a fresh orange slice, a grape and a blackberry. Friendly, quick service, reasonable prices good food , an imaginative menu, and from what we saw and heard, lots of happy repeat locals, some of whom may have been getting happier with the help of a well stocked bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. As others have mentioned, parking is extremely limited, about six or so spots. Four or five other spaces are clearly marked as reserved for occupants of the condo or apartments in the building with towaway warnings. Quite a few of the customers we saw were walking from nearby hotels or residences. They also serve lunch and are only open until 2:00 pm. Check out the menus posted elsewhere. It was too cold and drizzly for outdoor.sewtomf, but they have about as may tables outside as they do inside, so I'm sure as the weather warms up, the outside tables will be in high demand. The food was very good! My friend and I ate there about 3 mornings during our 5 days in Blowing Rock. The place was very clean and in a modern flair. They were busy with outdoor tables and inside tables. It did not take long for our food to come to our table. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend you go at least one time. We stayed 2 doors from the place and just walked there. I wish I had taken pictures of our food, but I forgot about doing that. read more

Great breakfast place. Same owners as Town Tavern (which could take pointers from this place). Food came out hot. Drinks stayed full without having to flag down the staff. We sat outside on their almost always sunny patio. Service was both friendly and prompt. The food was warm and delicious. We had scrambled eggs with cheese (cheddar), bacon, grits, toast and a side of beignets. Everything was delicious, fresh and pleasing to the eye. The beignets were our favorite, served warm with the usual powdered sugar and a side of maple syrup to dip. The pricing was very reasonable for Blowing Rock. We will most certainly be back. Come the summer months and the word getting out, I would imagine there will be crowds. I must add that the patio was very nice, including real gas lights. read more

We visited for the first time today and were really impressed by the taste and quality of the food. We had Eggs Benedict and a breakfast platter for brunch and cleaned out plates! There was a wait, but it wasn't bad and the staff were courteous and helpful. Our only complaint is the level of noise in the dining room, we couldn't hear each other talk, and the cramped space. Still, we'll definitely go back. We're excited to try lunch next time! read more

I've never seen a more pompous and froufrou bunch of idiots in my life. Now, I know the restaurant has nothing to do with their patrons. That being said, the moment we walked up to the hostess we felt as if we already weren't good enough to be there. When the hostess finally stopped ignoring us all she had to say was "one second" then abruptly left the stand. Once we were finally on the list and waiting they came out and legitimately asked my wife (Rachel), "is IT rEegAL?...." Again, not a big deal but certainly a little odd. I don't know about you, but I've never in my life met someone named "Regal." Anyways, we finally were seated and given what seemed like two Dixie cups worth of water. We noticed every other table had a bottle or vase full of water. Once we downed the 4 fluid ounces each we waiting to see just how long it would take to get more. We gave up and finally had to say "Excuse me" to our waitress who, despite being very active and attentive to the country club boys and their plastic wives, finally retrieved us some water. The remainder of our experience pretty much followed suit. All of the waitresses seemed they were in some little clique making sure to side eye us and only take care of the highest paying customers. We were not checked on a single time without having to specifically ask for something. We were not given refills of coffee. We were not given the customary "how's everything tasting?" Andddd....We will not be back...I truly wish there was a 0/5 star option. P.S. - Food was pretty good. Nothing to say there and this rating does not represent the kitchen staff or service on that side of the house. It came out quickly and had pretty good flavor. read more
