My first visit was to stop by the location to see it in person and to make an appointment. Just from this initial visit I knew i wanted an appointment. The gentleman (Mr. Paulino?) in reception was friendly, attentive, asked engaging questions and followed up with an appointment reminder call as he said he would. The appointment was equally smooth as I arrived early, was taken after a short wait and was done with exam, new frame selection and fitting in under 30 minutes!!! Again, Mr. Paulino answered my MANY questions with patience and care. The eye doctor was also friendly and informative and I felt comfortable and informed during the entire process. So no more trekking downtown because my NEW eye care spot is walking distance from my crib, too. UPDATE So today I received a phone call that my glasses were ready. Again, since the location is so close I decided to go pick them up ASAP. Upon entering the door of the location, imagine my surprise when Mr. Paulino greeted me with, "Hello Mr. Miles, welcome back!" This lady took one look at them, adjusted them exactly once, and they were instantly perfect. Then I looked around the shop and saw that, even though the selection was small, there were quite a number of pairs I wanted to try on - whoever picked the selection of frames here has amazing taste. High-end and middle-high-end, some really funky and cute selections. Now I'm wondering if I can afford to buy a second pair of glasses this year even though my insurance won't cover it. Anyhow, this is a nice shop and deserves your support!

Elisheva provided different options of kids glasses and ran through pros and cons. There was no upsell and no pushiness. She was very clear in her communication and friendly. The glasses were reasonably priced - $210 (120 for frames and 90 for kid safe lenses) without insurance. They also provided a one year guarantee - one free replacement if the lenses get scratched and two free replacements if the frames break. I mean, that's pretty darn awesome. Let's see how the little guy likes them, but so far so good. COVID safety - all of the staff were wearing masks and they enforced mask wearing among all customers over the age of 2. Hand sanitizer is available. There is only one spot in the store where you can take your mask off and it's cornered off with clear plastic.

TLDR: Warby Parker really botched my contacts order but eventually made it right. It was difficult…read morespeak to a person with ownership even going into the store. Eventually someone in management called me back, but it took a little over a week. And I had a really horrible experience at this location. I'm a first-time contact lens wearer and got my first pair at another Warby Parker while visiting family, and my family paid for them. A few days later I went to this location for a refit with the optometrist. I was having a hard time getting the lens in, and she was short on time, and asked if she could just insert it for me. Instead of sticking to my eye, the lens fell onto the carpet. She rinsed it off and put it back in my eye. I was a little grossed out but didn't realize until I got home and Googled it that you're absolutely not supposed to do that. They also only had five lens samples to give me, which wasn't enough to hold me over until my order came in. So, I placed an order for correct strength monthly lenses. They told me the exchange would be $39 more, so I paid and left. About thirty minutes later the store called and said they had accidentally ordered the same lenses again, and offered a 20% inconvenience discount if I brought them back for exchange when they arrived. I later found out that all new contact wearers get 20% off automatically, so that discount wasn't actually compensation for their mistake. And they ordered the exact same lenses, so why did they charge me more? I tried calling, but you can't reach anyone at the actual store, only a call center overseas. I followed up by email five times, but no one ever answered any of my questions. Each time I respond or add information to the email, a new person answers, and none of my questions have been answered in over a week. It's clearly another call center, where no one person owns an issue until resolution. When I finally went back in to return the incorrect lenses, there was one person working behind the register and one helping other people, and a long line. They didn't do an exchange like I asked, or verify anything, and just refunded the entire purchase including the overcharge to my mom's credit card, which I don't have access to, then said it was too late and they couldn't do anything about it. So now I have no lenses, and I'll have to either ask my mom to send me the funds, or pay for the whole thing again myself, and I can't afford it for a few weeks. This whole experience was beyond frustrating. But their management ordered a month of lenses for me which I feel like was more than fair compensation for my frustration and I will go back because the locations are clean and I like the selection of glasses.

Empire eye care is a good, efficient place to get eye exams, and glasses…read more A family member recommended Empire eye care, being that I needed to get new glasses. The location is easily accessible from all trains, and highways. The exam was good, the eye exam testing equipment was state of the art. Impressed by the newest technology for testing vision. Picked up a pair of glasses. Grateful to the guy that did my exam that helped me choose my new pair of frames. There is a 7 day wait to pick up new frames. However it seemed that my glasses came back fast. Overall my experience was okay, and hopefully yours will be as well.

They do superb, careful work and stand by it, and I believe their prices are fair and in line with what you would pay elsewhere (except for those online places, if you feel like gambling with your eye health and vision). Also they've had very little turnover of staff in the decade I've been getting my glasses there, so everyone who works there is an experienced professional. And they still have a wonderfully curated selection of frames to pick from, including lots of adventurous, bold styles as well as all the solid basics you would expect. I always find a pair I love.

The front desk lady is very willing to help select a frame that works well with my facial structure. I had to have my glasses readjusted twice and was pleasantly pleased by the willingness to help.
