I'm not even much of a yelper but I feel the need to publicly express my disappointment. I visited the Soco Tavern 10 days ago for the first time since it was the Ice Chest. I'm newly back to the area. I ordered a stuffed quahog and the braised short rib and it was AMAZING. I went back again to watch the Superbowl and had the honey hot pepperoni pizza which was SO good. I was excited to return today. Again I ordered the stuffed quahog and the braised short rib. I didn't even look at a menu. I was so excited to enjoy this meal again. However, this time the stuffed quahog was just so-so. Very dry. Fine. It was the short rib I was really looking forward to. First time going and the decor is odd in my opinion. Like it doesn't know what it wants to be. The place wise bright but the all of a sudden before we left they basically turned the lights off. It was very cold felt like we were outside. The chips they bring were hard and tasteless. We were split in the meal. We both got burning tips. My wife loves them but I felt they were drenched in sauce like they were a sauces wing rather than marinated. Service was fair. As most places you get ripped off on getting a soda. Felt the prices high for the type of atmosphere. Did not like the high top tables. They were very uncomfortable. By the time we left the music became loud and we could not hear each other. read more

Relatively new spot that plays on traditional American bar food (nachos, pizza, sandwiches etc) with a short selection of unique entrees and speciality dishes. Two large bars (one inside and one out) with plenty of TVs to watch the game. Smaller quieter more family friendly seating available as well. My only complaint was that it was too much sometimes. Too much queso on the nachos, sandwiches were too big they got messy quickly. But overall absolutely delicious, friendly and attentive staff. You can tell the people who renovated this place really care. We came in and ordered the seafood tower and they were out of something and the chef came out to give us options. It was a small gesture that provided a great experience. The downside is that we've come to the bar and the bartenders (outside area) will walk past us for 15-20 minutes before acknowledging us on multiple occasions. The inside bartenders we have never had a problem. The food is really delicious but we miss the pool tables. read more

Stopped in to check out the new Soco Tavern. It was fairly busy but we were still able to get parking and a table with no issues. The interior looks amazing after the remodel and upgrades the new owners made. The open kitchen is a nice touch, and there is lots of cool art on the walls. Our server was very friendly and brought over some complimentary House Made Chips (which were awesome). We tried the Giant Pretzel for an appetizer and that was really good as well. We ended up sharing a couple of their pizzas. We went with a Classic Cheese and The Necker. Both were good, however could have been cooked a little longer to crisp then underside (had alot of flop), but they had great flavor and re-heated well for leftovers as well. read more

Four hours into our road trip and it was time for late lunch so we stopped here-- and wow am I glad we did! Everything is top notch, creative, delicious and fresh, from the chips served when we were seated to the wonderful s'mores bread pudding (where even the fluff is house made)! There were no misses on the food. The Portuguese spring rolls were a fun tasty spin with a wonderful texture and not greasy as they could be, and the sauce and pickled ginger were a great complement. The drunken burrata pizza was terrific and well balanced, with the perfectly crunchy-chewy crust offering the perfect base for the savory sausage and vodka sauce with bright wedges of tomato and just the right amount of heat from the red pepper. We asked for the burrata on one side for my current dietary restriction (sad!) and they happily obliged, but from my husband's report it was a nice cool creamy finish to the flavors (which were already wonderful on their own.) Last but not least the bread pudding is a big win: decadent and moist with nice crunchy graham pieces and the brûléed fluff finishing it off perfectly. I have to also call out how exceptional our server Tara was. She was so kind and impressively efficient - she checked in with us about our timing while foreseeing and meeting every need we had, which was really above and beyond. She refilled our drinks before we'd even think of asking, and dropped our check before we asked, moving everything along quickly and kindly, making the experience all the more wonderful. If there were server Olympics she'd be a gold medalist for sure. If I lived around here I'd be back no doubt: great ambiance while having space for big parties, and the bar looks massive and inviting too. Don't miss this spot! read more

Wow, not sure where to begin. Love that you can make reservations ahead of time online and I highly recommend that you do. Great place for large parties. We had absolute amazing service for our large party. My granddaughter wanted spinach as a veggie and it actually is not a side dish. However, they accommodated her request without issue. This place is so amazing and delicious! We had anywhere from salad to pizza. The pizza was stone fired and we decided to make our own. It was out of this world and we left craving more as it really hit the taste buds. The oysters were local from Westport and succulent. It was served w a frozen mignonette, which I thought was weird. Taste was good but just not my preference. Chicken and biscuit dish was a large portion and perfect. Seafood platter, perfect. Clam chowder, thick, creamy, and very tasty. Full bar. Great cocktails. Quahog served on a bed of seaweed, which was very aesthetically pleasing. We will definitely come back for more next trip in the area. read more

I visited Soco a couple of times while visiting the area. I sat at the bar both times, which is a nice atmosphere. Love a bar that has Keno too. Drinks are very reasonable and the food I tried was solid. The stuffed quahog was excellent and the fisherman's platter was great deal and also very good. Pizzas were also a great choice. A Mother's Day excursion to Fairhaven Ma. Made reservations online for 4:45-5 and arrived early. The gentleman at the hostess station was not very friendly to us and did not wish my wife a happy Mother's Day but maybe he was in a cranky mood. Great family atmosphere with TVs in every corner which I'm not a big of fan of but whatever. The menu had something for our three young adults. The waitress was personable and had great menu suggestions. The menu items we ordered were the smash burger, the mother clicker, rigatoni pasta with ricotta, sausage and ricotta pizza and fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. Everything was hot and delicious. The only problem we had was once we ordered our drinks and apps she disappeared for quite awhile. After we ordered our entrees she was gone for longer time periods. It didn't seem to be to that busy in our section but maybe she had an another section to cover. All in all the food was flavorful and the price point was reasonable. We would go back. read more

This is the new and hottest spot in the area and I can see why! Beautiful restaurant with multiple dine in and bar areas to it. My friend and I were served by Layla who was so sweet and kind. Brought over some water and the house chips which were fantastic! I would buy by the bag. Each of us had a mocktail and cocktail, my friends cider one was a bit heavier on the tequila than the cider and I enjoyed my mocktail. Had the Portuguese spring rolls, cute little twist to a classic dish, came out hot, big portion just wish it had a bit more Chourico to it. My friend got the chicken and waffles and as a culinary chef she was impressed how juicy the chicken was, great gravy on topped and enjoyed the biscuit. I had the short rib and it was fantastic! Loved the mashed as well and great flavor to the sauce. Finished off with the s'mores bread pudding, easily one of the best I've ever had I just wish it would have a scoop of vanilla ice cream to it, would be perfect! We went two days after opening and it was amazing! First, the hostess and server were so accommodating. When we went in, many servers had been cut so there was not a booth but our server was willing to take another table just to accommodate us since we had our baby in his carseat so we needed a booth. We started with drinks and I really really enjoyed my espresso martini! My husband was happy to see that they had Downeast on draft as many places do not. For food, I ordered the braised beef sandwich. It was amazing! The beef was so tender and flavorful and they had great french fries too. My husband ordered the beef tips and really enjoyed them as well. We didn't really care for the mac and cheese but thought it would be better with some more seasoning. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here, it is such a nice place they did so well with the remodel and the impeccable service was just the icing on the cake. We went here last night and while the food and service were excellent, I have to say the atmosphere was terrible. We had a 6:15PM reservation which is not too early, not too late, but it was straight up club vibes. The house music was sooo loud I had to yell across the table to my kids. We are in our mid 40s and my kids are 10 an 12 so we do not need a super quiet environment, but this was just not enjoyable at all. Burgers were great, our waitress was amazing, but I have no idea why they turn the music up so loud so early in the evening. I would only come back for lunch at this point. read more

We checked out this brand new restaurant & wow, what a great experience from start to finish! It was packed, which we expected, but everything moved so quickly & smoothly. The staff had it down to a science..friendly, efficient, & on top of everything. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the Trash Can Nachos with short rib & honestly, they were some of the best we've had..perfectly layered, crispy, cheesy, tender short rib & full of flavor in every bite. Then came the Holy Hot Honey pizza, & we're still thinking about those crispy little pepperoni cups.. hands down such a great pizza. The fries came out old and hard, the waitress in error gave me the wrong burger, after a few bites we noticed we had each other's burgers . After explaining the error, and noticing I DIDNT EAT my burger she still decided to charge me and NOT replace my burger. I was there with family and didn't want to make a scene by requesting a manager, i honestly thought the waitress Erica would do the right thing. I left un impressed, and extremely dissatisfied. I gave SoCo Tavern three times to get better. Well three strikes and your out. My family and friends have tried many menu items from salads to pizza to burgers. It is really difficult to have a pizza with no taste but they succeeded. I ordered a wedge salad and my wife ordered the watermelon salad. My friends ordered the same items. My wife and my meals came out first. My friends waited and waited. We informed the server who said the kitchen was backed up. Fifteen minutes later their meals arrived. I had added the steak tips to my salad and when I say the tips were small that was an understatement (pardon the pun). My wife's watermelon salad contained very little watermelon. The ambiance was loud and the air conditioning was unstable. Sorry SoCo the food and the prices are not worth another visit. I do commend the manager for taking half off our last bill and gave us free dessert. Still not enough for another return. read more

I called to make a reservation, as we loved Ice House and wanted to try SoCo Tavern, and the hostess told me no because I wouldn't show up. So I thought I had the wrong number and called back again and once again was told I cannot make a reservation because I won't show up. Then she informed me that she thought I was her friend prank calling her (apparently she had been all day) and laughing saying she was sorry but she kept laughing. At this point I asked for a 6pm reservation and they only had 7:30 available but when I went on open table I found the time I wanted for the amount of people I needed without issue. Overall, I found the hostess extremely rude and unprofessional. Needless to say my group of friends will not be going there and I won't be recommending SoCo Tavern to anyone. read more
