I couldn't resist trying one of their crazy milkshakes after finishing the escape room! We ordered from the escape room lounge which was nice and quiet. My friend and I split the tuxedo milkshake which was perfect and the staff kindly split it into 2 cups for us. The tuxedo comes with Oreos and an ice cream sandwich bar in the milkshake and was incredible! There was a long line forming when we left. The inside is pretty small with just a line of stools and a few tables outside if you're coming just for the ice cream and not the escape room.

Cute shop with a fun selection! Even better that it was a surprise stop for the kids before our escape room reservation. :) Always weary about trying desserts when there are peanuts on the menu, due to our daughter's allergy. However, they took precautions so that our daughter could safely enjoy her Brownie Points milkshake. Portions are huge and we were able to share and still have some leftover. Thank you for your kindness and care especially with our food allergy!

Soda Jerk is fun!! The killer shakes and floats are over the top and kids go bananas over them! I mean come on, the Big Cheese Cake shake comes with an actual slice of Cheese Cake on it!!! We go to Soda Jerk for special, fun occasions or when the kids have done the Nemesis Club (secret escape room located inside) We've had the Sweet Tooth, It's Your Birthday, All the Cookies, Death by Chocolate, Happy Camper, and a few seasonal ones over the years! Never met a shake we didn't like! They offer regular milkshakes and floats too! When Soda Jerk first opened I had to look up what it meant...the name for a person who prepared and served sodas and ice cream at a drugstore or ice cream parlor. The name "jerk" refers to the jerking motion the person used to pull the handle of the soda foundation draft arm to dispense carbonated water. This was in the 1920's - 1950's. Maybe most people knew this, but I didn't. I know they use premium ice cream and fresh milk from a local dairies, which is great and High Street is the perfect place to take a stroll after and walk off the sugar. Soda Jerk is a fun spot for an old fashion, exciting treat!

Came here for the first time as a family to celebrate a birthday! Service was quick and kind. The shop is very clean and a modern take on an old-fashioned soda shop. Servings are large and can be shared! Everyone walked away happy and full.

Probably not the review you were expecting from a placed filled with treats but I will always come back for this açaí bowl! As a lactose intolerant person I can't always eat ice cream or drink shakes but if you're looking for something sweet, light, and refreshing--this is it! I went for the first time last year and had to come back because the portion is a great size, the service is quick, and it's just what you need on a hot day! Would recommend! I come from out of state and would go back if in the area again!

Another soooooo gooooood! It is up in North Phoenix on High Street- and worth the drive if you are elsewhere in the Phoenix metro area! We have been here before on a Yelp Day, came back and brought friends! We each had something different and none of us were disappointed! They even have an Acai Shake with Oat Milk for the vegans- and wow. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back! Go check out Soda Jerk. It is worth every bite!

If you're gonna be a jerk, be a Soda Jerk! Get the Don't Snicker Sundae. The Don't Snicker Sundae has vanilla ice cream and a Snickers Ice Cream Bar. It's topped with a chocolate-dipped waffle crisp, some drizzles of hot fudge and caramel, and a mountain of whipped cream sits on top with a fudge and peanuts rim. While I'm not the biggest ice cream lover, it was the perfect way to cap off the night. That is, until the rain came pouring down and had us running down High Street to the parking garage. You know the sundae was good when I used my jacket and hands to protect my sundae instead of the make-up quickly being washed off my face. The walk-in freezer door to the left looks awfully suspicious! Our companions spoke highly of the escape room and we would have loved to have booked a spot but they were full. It's a very popular spot!

I've been wanting to check out Soda Jerk for over a year now, especially after hearing all the buzz about their outrageous milkshakes. So, when I found myself in the area for a festival, I jumped at the chance to finally try one. When we got there, Soda Jerk was very busy, with the staff hustling around making drinks. They acknowledged us and took our orders shortly.I wanted to split a milkshake with my husband, but I was craving cotton candy while he was craving an Oreo flavor. In the end, we decided to go for two small classic milkshakes, each getting what we wanted. We took our shakes outside to enjoy at one of the tables, and they were delicious; creamy and dreamy! Even the small size is good for sharing, especially after a meal. We tried our best, but we couldn't finish them! We also thought about booking a game in their cool speakeasy-style escape room, The Nemesis Room, but sadly, they were fully booked for the night. Next time!

We stopped in on a Saturday to try them out with my family as an end of the school year treat. The place only had 1 other customer at the time and the people working were friendly. The decision on what to get was difficult especially for my girls who really needed pictures to visualize the options . I asked the staff if they had any and they told me their might be some on Instagram. That is honestly why I went with just 4 stars and not 5. If you really want to sell something you need to have more than just 1 photo as a example or rely on customers to look things up. I highly recommend management take photos and have them available to show, this would totally help customers decide easier. (Okay end improvement suggestion.) The shakes we opted to get were the It's my Birthday with chocolate shake base, the Sweet Tooth shake, and the Peanut Gallery. All three were yummy but I would have to say the most impressive one was the sweet tooth. We will probably be back for a future fun treat. If you get a chance to go you should just don't eat before as they are pretty big. read more

This is similar to the Yard Milkshake Bar, however, we found it to be much better. The service was friendly, the shakes were delicious and the ambiance was clean and fun. The shakes will definitely satisfy any sweet tooth you may have. read more

This throwback soda shop is a nice addition to the High Street atmosphere. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into when we strolled into this cute little ice cream counter. They have a very creative menu of sweet treats, mostly shakes and floats - all that seemed delightful by description. A team of bubbly friendly youth (the Jerks, if you will) went into a flurry of hyper-motion to assemble our order. What we received where plastic cups overflowing with wonderfully assembled sugary decadence. Yikes! I couldn't really tell if it was good quality ice cream because it was so covered in other goodies. Overall, it was very good and a lot of stuff in, and on, a cup. A bit mutch for one, we felt. We'll know better to split it next time. It is one place that you can actually spend more on ice cream than at Coldstone. read more

I'd seen The Soda Jerk pop up on Yelp a few times and since we were over at Desert Ridge today, I decided now was the time to check it out. It's located at High Street, so just east of Desert Ridge. (The High Street area reminds me of Scottsdale Quarter.). The shop itself is tiny and indoor counter seating is currently closed, but there were plenty of tables outside to enjoy your treats. And treats they are. My husband tried the Peanut Gallery shake and I went with Chocolate Turtle. Peanut Gallery is a chocolate peanut butter milkshake in a peanut rimmed cup with a Reese's Peanut Butter cup and a couple Nutter Butter cookies. He drained it. Chocolate turtle is chocolate milkshake in a pecan rimmed cup with a chocolate turtle and a chocolate "straw". (The chocolate straw is one of those pirouette cookies.). Both came with chocolate whipped cream. We both agreed these were the best shakes we've had in a very long time. It was also fun to see some of the other creations that other guests chose. We'll have to visit again to try some of those others. read more

Let me just say, wow. Amazon service and shakes. My friends and I came in a limo for a sweet sixteen and they had all of our 10 mega shakes done right when we got there, and even brought them out to us! The shakes were spectacular. I think my biggest challenge with this place is how much you pay for what you get. But I do want to acknowledge that it's in a nice area and they seem to mostly use high quality ingredients (except rice krispy treats apparently - see below) which of course all means lots of overheard. The staff was also very friendly and delivered great service! The Oreo shake was pretty good, but $6 feels like a lot for a regular shake. The Cereal Killer was also pretty good, but $12 is so much! I understand that it's an experience to get a shake with all of the extras like a rice krispy treat and a pop tart, but the rice krispy treat was dry and kind of hard and the pop tart was just a pop tart. It feels pretty hard to justify a $12 shake for what you get. Maybe it's worth going to have the experience of eating a shake like that one time, but after that it seems unlikely we'll go back. read more

Came here for an afternoon treat with my son. My son got the Tuxedo milkshake and I got the classic strawberry milkshake. He loved every bite and said it was the best milkshake he's ever had. We came here on a Friday night around 7 PM and maybe got lucky but no line and there were available tables outside. I had the Shake it Momma shake, it was so good. The best strawberry cheesecake shake I have ever had. Worth every penny! My only regret is now I am going to crave this all the time. My husband had a pineapple soda float that he really enjoyed also. Neither one were too big or too much to eat/drink. Just the right size. read more

Stopped by last weekend and cannot wait to go back! My husband had the Happy Camper float, he said that the kind of root beer they use is the best root beer brand. I got the Death by Chocolate. The reason for my one star is the way they pay their employees. In the interview they tell them they'll be paid $12.50 however they pay $9.50 and they use the tips that the young staff work so hard to get to supplement the $3 difference. I'm using $9.50 and $12.50 as an example but I do know there was a $3 differential and it is in the $9 and $12 range. So next time you decide to leave a tip for the hard-working staff, know that it's helping the owners supplement their wages and not going to the staff who earned it. Also they don't require a food handlers license for the staff. read more

My girlfriend and I have been scoping out this establishment since it opened and finally found the time to make a trip with her four year old son. We were in good spirits and excited, as this location has been extremely popular and busy when we have thought to stop by previously. There was one table seated outside when we arrived and absolutely no customers in the store, prior to us arriving. The two employees working were young but that is not an excuse for the complete lack of customer service and on the part of the young lady working, plain rudeness. We were not greeted, our questions were either ignored or responded to in the shortest, rudest, tone possible without looking up or even pretending to be in a pleasant mood. The attitude of both of these employees was apparently that they were too busy to provide a pleasant experience to two adults and a child experiencing their establishment for the first time. Outside of the rudeness to myself and my lady, there was no friendly hello, smile, or anything for a bright-eyed four year old child who was simply excited to be there and curious. I have worked in customer service for the better part of thirteen years now. I have had some of the worst days of my life while working and never represented myself or my company is such a poor fashion. It quite honestly ruined the entire experience. I will absolutely be following up to provide this feedback to management because in this industry there is no excuse for the lack of decency toward paying customers. Hopefully they get a little more selective with the people they allow to represent their company. Lastly, the product itself was pretty good but I would eat less fancy ice cream from a kind employee who doesn't make it seem like your presence is an absolute waste of their time ten times out of ten. Update - - - - - - Within an hour of my review I was contacted by ownership who made my concerns a priority and did what they could to reconcile our initial experience. You can't ask for more than that in this kind of situation. Thank you again Dustin. read more

I got the death by chocolate and it had a rim of chocolate chips like it was a margarita with salt. It had a brownie on top and a cookie covered in chocolate that was like a fancy Twix bar.
