Bought a chair here over a year ago. $1000.00. Slipcover ripped with in a few months . When I returned the slipcover, they tried to blame it on me. Finally sewed it. The bottom cushion was made of odd pieces of foam. The slip cover shrinks every time I wash it even tho I paid for pre shrunk fabric. So the chair really looks like a piece of sh*t. So disappointed. I purchased a custom sofa and chaise from Sofa U Love almost 20 years ago and this sofa has lived up to its name. When the sofa was first delivered, my new boyfriend at the time sat on the chaise and said "I hope you like me because I'm never leaving." I did eventually get him to leave but the sofa and chaise have withstood the test of time. The fabric has become even softer and more comfortable over time. My nieces and nephews grew up on these pieces, My friends choose to sleep on the sofa instead of a bed when they visit. When I recently had surgery my nieces and cousins argued over who would get the sofas if I didn't make it. I did make it and now that I need another sofa I am going right back to Sofa U Love. This place had my yelp review removed. I purchased furniture from this place and the sales part of the process was great but once it came to customer support they were unreasonable. I told the person that the material was different from the other cushions I bought and wanted to have that specific Cushion replaced. The lady I spoke to said she'd get back to me but never did. I called again and again with no response. I told them that when I had removed the slip covers I noticed there was a huge tear on the cushions and the so called goose feathers look nothing like goose feathers. They said bring the receipt and we will exchange it for you. I told them I didn't have it...months had gone by before I washed the slip covers and told them I didn't have it. They said "we can't help you." My advice is go to another store like Pottery Barn, Urban Home, or Crate and Barrel. I will never shop at this place again. The worst part about it is that they literally have you thinking that they're great I. Customer service...but as soon as you slide your card and they hear that cha-Ching you're dead to them. Take heed friends. They don't care about anything else other than making a sale. When I refused (yep, that's how horrible my experience was with them -- literally the WORST I've EVER HAD with any company), they asked if they could make me an ottoman or some throw pillows instead. HERE'S WHY I SAID NO: Though they are supposedly under new management, I checked (yep, that's easy to do); they're not. These people are SCAMMERS and I want you, any potential customers to know that. My experience with them was painful, it cost me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for an inferior product and a deeply negative experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone else. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews -- they're fake or they're paid for. Many of the real, negative reviews that were on here will be gone because some people will have accepted the cash and removed them. I'm just hoping to spare you my experience. We placed a $800 dollar deposit on a recover of a couch that we had purchased at another location. In addition, we paid for pick up and delivery. On the agreed upon pickup date, I took the day off from work, but no one showed up to pick up our sofa. To make a long story short, this happened FOUR TIMES. Each time I called Marina, the manager of the store, she had an excuse for us. Finally, after approximately two weeks, I requested our money back. That is when Marina's academy award winning performance really began. Though she provided no product or service, she REFUSED to refund our money. I am not sure how you can take someone's money, make an agreement for service and then not provide the service that you agreed to provide and then not return their money when requested. At the end of the day, we disputed the charge with our credit card provider and they promptly provided a charge back. Marina tried in vain to get us to pay cash and now I understand why. Had we paid cash, we would have been screwed. Be forewarned: Marina is nice until she gets your money. After, you can pretty much consider yourself screwed and extremely lucky if you actually get what you paid for. I am not sure about you, but if I were in business and saw so many negative reviews about how I conducted business, I would be ashamed. Be forewarned: In my opinion and based upon my personal experience, Marina and Sofa U Love are both unethical, irresponsible and cannot be trusted to provide you with the service that you pay for. read more
