This is the place for delicious cookies, and they could not be nicer. When I first moved around the corner I stopped in for a panini and coffee a discovered their real forte is cookies. Don't get me wrong the panini was great and the coffee was great too ... but their cookies and the variety of cookie offerings make this place great. It's helpful when you are a small bakery off the beaten path that you treat customers that could go anywhere with the respect they deserve. If you are standing behind the counter as a barista, yes I want you to make my coffee. And I also want no attitude as you do it. If you are not the owner, then they really should be notified because you represent the reason their business will fail. I only give an extra star out of pity. I just made another trip to this beautifully hidden gem in Brooklyn because the first batch of cookies I bought were devoured by my family in minutes! Upon my return, they were out of my daughter's new favorite cake batter cookies and the owner graciously threw a batch in the oven. While we waited we were offered samples and the employees were so pleasant and patient with my kids. On top of their amazing customer service, the cookies are simply amazing. I commute from Queens just to get these cookies and they never disappoint! I am so happy to have found these wonderful ladies' bakery. The staff is great and the two amazing owners are truly the best. After leaving my doctors office in bay ridge I had a craving for something sweet. So, I went to Yelp and found cookie heaven!! I got on the belt parkway at 3 O'clock on a week day. Yes, I'm crazy. Okay, so it's an apple pie cookie or something like that but the minute she said apple I checked out. I really don't like anything apple other than the actual fruit. No apple juice, apple pie, tart or ANYTHING APPLE . However, the kind lady behind the counter (Krystal) gracefully walked over to the display, took out this golden brown apple something cookie and offered me a sample. Ha!! She was kind enough to offer, so I obliged...... OH MY HEAVEN It was soooooooo delicious. Sold!!! I'll take it, I've been converted. But only at Sofia & Grace. Will I ever eat apple blah blah, yes please and thank you, but only from Sofia & Grace. I stopped into the old neighborhood to see how things look nowadays. I must admit there is a big change in the neighborhood and in the people. I lived there many many years ago when the neighborhood was very far from up and coming so it was nice to see a small quaint bakery like Sophie and Grace selling sweet treats. We ordered a couple of paninis and some lattes. The barista felt it was his duty to let me know that there was a difference between coffee and a latte. Maybe he did this because I'm not the hipster type but I'm pretty sure that I was drinking lattes way before he could even pronounce the word latte. I really didn't appreciate his comments and I let him know this. The sandwiches were good even though he screwed up one of them. The lattes were alright. The cookies had they been warm would have tasted better. It's a nice little spot but lacks good customer service. read more
