Great food, service - Mike was awesome!, and cool vibes. Music was definitely loud but we had a great time. Food portions were good. Lots of hot sauce and signature hot sauce options to choose from. Margaritas were good. Would eat here again! There is always a long wait so a reservation is recommended (even with a reservation we had to wait another 10-15 minutes to get seated). First would like to say the food is very fresh and tasty. Portions are huge. What I do not care for personally it is very loud. The music is so loud, you have to yell across the table. Im not a fan of Marriacchi, and find it annoying. Again my personal opinion when dining the waitress staff is very sweet. However, the bus people are way too eager to remove your plates while you are still eating. As an asthmatic, the gigantic "candle" they use seems more like a firework, and the smell and thickness of the aftermath, is dangerous. They should consider calming that down. They put sombrero s on the birthday person they take off the wall and cute chicken they hand the borthday person. Great photo op, but please check for lice. The sangria was delicious. I prefer citrus to apples in mine, but still quite tasty. The churro and chocolate desert was dry and not tasty at all. The fajitas, i had the steak and chicken. Huge portion. Very tasty, but only 4 baby tortillos. Had enough steak and chicken for three meals. My friend had the fish tacos with gluten free taco and said her was also delicious. The guacamole is the best around. Really amazing. The jalepeno margaritas very tasty. I feel half and half about this place. read more

Recently hosted my daughter's bridal shower in their private room. It was pricey. $4600 for 27 guests. During the party one of the employees took the cake to slice. I didn't realize that they also took the cake stand. A vintage Waterford crystal cake stand that belonged to my grandmother that my daughter was going to use for her wedding cake. I asked them to pack up the leftover cake and I assumed they had also packed the cake stand. Once I arrived home I noticed I did not have it so I emailed the banquet coordinator Sarai letting her know that it was at the restaurant and asked when I could retrieve it. No response. The next day my daughter and I went to the restaurant and were told it was not there. The manager at the time, Jonathan, told us he had security video of his employee handing it to one of the people at my party. He described the cake perfectly but could not describe the person. I asked him to see the video and he said they no longer had it. He said that because I left the cake stand behind they were not responsible "as per the contract". So what was it? He returned the stand to an unknown person or it was left behind???? I explained to him again that his employee took the stand out of the room and did not return it. That's theft. Then he told us to leave the restaurant. I immediately filed a police report and I will be pursuing this in court. read more

Atmosphere was great. Dining experience was less so. Salsa had little flavor and chips were very hard and also tasteless. Had empanadas which I usually love but these were made with a mix of white and dark meat chicken and did not enjoy. Other entree was nachos and beans with cheese requested just those ingredients but platter came out with sour cream spread all over the top which my boyfriend hates. Most of the food was very good...but order a coke comes in a small glass, lots of ice, didn't know every refill was a $1.5 Ordered tacos and quesidillas. These normally come with sour cream. Didn't know that every tiny cup was an uncharged of $2.00. Bill was almost $180 but I don't like to feel taken advantage of. Great food. Good service. Nice ambiance. My only complaint is they brought me over a hot sauce that was over a million scovillevunits. Now I like hot, but I was sweating and tears were falling into my tacos. Apparently, they are supposed to warn you about that sauce, but I foolishly just assumed they would give me something that would prove to nearly ruin my day lol. The server was like you ok? I said I can handle it but I globbed it on. He said yeah whoever brings you the hot sauce basket is directed to warn the customers of that one. Lunch special a good price for the amount of food. From the moment you walk in and the hostesses all great you with a smile and friendly hello you know it's going to be good. The food is amazing but I want to call out the servers. We ate at the bar and our servers were Noe, Dana and Kristen. Very friendly and very attentive, we didn't have to ask for anything, not even leftover containers, they saw we had finished and brought them over. Without a doubt the best service I ever experienced. The runners were fast and friendly, our food was fresh and delicious. And the music and decor is fun! Do not listen to the bad reviews! I am a food snob from North Jersey, it's very hard to find good food down here but this place is amazing, those people have no idea what they are talking about! Not mediocre, no store bought chips? Everything is so fresh and delicious. Service is always on point. And as for the prices, they're listed on the menu so there's no excuse to be surprised about the check. Called for 12:30 Reservation and was told they were too busy at that time, but could reserve for 12:45... so OK Arrived at 12:30 and the place was half empty. Not a good start. Sat at the bar. We were given only Lunch Special menus until we asked if "that was all they had". Then we were given regular menus. Ordered Sophia's Guac, which was delicious but came with only 3 chips! (Edit: In response to owner's reply: to clarify, the 3 chips were IN the Guac and there was no side basket of chips until I asked for one.) Strange, especially considering the price. The soup was ample and delicious. The Fajitas were rubbery and tough. Rather "under-filled". Service was very friendly and energetic. Interior is very colorful. Drinks were unremarkable. read more

Recently we had a unique experience here. The pitcher of sangria was 2/3 of ice. The food wasn't much better .. quesadilla had hardly any substance to it .. Service though was good... Quite busy but moved along. It was only a few weeks since their opening. Drinks were great. Food presentation top notch. Quac app could have used a bit more seasoning. Salsa too. Chips were good. I got Birria tacos. They'd were good. Could have used a little more cheese as they were meaty if that's a thing. Music playing so ambiance was good. The food was so good. Our waiter was so nice and caring to help with everything especially I really love the fajitas with chicken and steak. The Service was so good and came out quick and all the food was top-notch our server. We visited Sophias for lunch and it's such a well decorated, theme type place. Service was quick and servers were pleasant. Prices were reasonable. Wife has shrimp tacos that she loved. I had Carnitas tacos but there were very bland-pork was cut into chunks rather than the pulled, stringy type. Virtually tasteless. The side of rice and beans was tasteless as well but with the right spices would have been really good. I think they need salt and pepper shakers on table and maybe some hot sauces so you can spice it to your liking. Also, another big downside to me was no draft beer. I can get bottled beer at home and going out I always look forward to draft beer. It definitely tastes better to me due to it's non pasteurization. Overall these things would not be deal breakers for me and we will return to try some of their other items. It kinda feels like your on vacation for an hour or so when you are in the place. read more

Was there last , food was fabulous. The service bartender was just playing with her hair all night, except for the times she was using her phone. One time the 3 bartenders were right in front of us, and we all had empty drinks. One of the guys were super nice. Im glad she didnt make our drinks, because her hair was probably all over. We went last night? 9 of us, food was all good, but our waiter was not good. I asked for a beer. They didn't have the brand I like. But he never told me, 10 minutes went by again. No beer. Asked another waiter, again they didn't have that brand either.. took 3 times before I got a beer, table . Servers were friendly, but food was not only disappointing but flavorless. Fajitas should have a strong flavorful taste but it was dry as hell; the vegetables had more taste than the chicken, shrimp and steak, granted some vegetables tasted acedo but it had a taste. Less said of the kids tacos the better. It's more of a white restaurant than a Mexican restaurant. Non-alcoholic drinks were too concentrated with whatever puree you use, but it's better when watered out. Alcoholic beverages are great, so you have that going for this place. This is more on us, since the aesthetic of the place and the mer for sale should've been a sign on how disappointing it would be. read more

My only complaint to keep this from five stars is that we should have been told about the uncharge for using a credit card. OK, I was at this restaurant about a month ago. It was packed. I mean you had a circle around to find a spot way way past the restaurant anyway the food was good so I went back just this past week. I ordered something called the steak burrito, but you can also get it in a bowl. The steak had some kind of pineapple. pineapple prep it was disgusting. I didn't even know what kind of meat I was tasting. I left the whole thing now mind you I waited an hour and 10 minutes to get into this place for the second time my door. My daughter had regular tacos with taco meat that tasted like dog food again she left ours. The best thing was the free tortilla chips that they put on the table and the fried ice cream I will never ever go back again. I just don't get it. I don't get why people like this place. The inside is beautiful though, and the outside of the building is beautiful. Maybe it's the architecture and the inside of the building. Had dinner there Monday. The place looks fantastic-love the decor. Salsa and chips were fresh and excellent. Had fish tacos-really good. The rice and beans were unique-so freaking good. Had cocktails-they were really good if not a little pricey. I loved the food-the only thing is the tacos do not come with rice and beans and they are $8.00 a little overpriced. When I was a teenager we pretty much had the same types if Tex Mex....Chi Chi's Chevy's....didn't expect more than that except higher prices than a casual tex mex restaurant would have. With so many family owned authentic Mexican restaurants in the area I wouldn't return. Just had to check it out to see what a new spot in the neighborhood was like. It's chain tex mex. at higher than authentic Mexican meals cost. Had an overall pleasant experience but there are many areas in which they can improve. Steak fajita was delicious however it's not served with rice& beans which I find odd at the $28 price. Red Sangria is delicious as well, however $48 for a small pitcher is a bit much. We were only seated for about an hour and a half total, and had just paid the check when a hostess came over and shooed us from the booth because there "was a reservation that needs this booth" so my party "had to leave". I found it very rude and disrespectful given I had just spent near $200 for 3 people at dinner and had given a 20% tip (to a waitress who was very abrupt and curt from the moment we sat down). It's unfortunate because the food was very good, but I left with that being the last impression - hence leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Staff definitely needs training. read more

We ordered a nachos appetizer with meat and refried beans. They brought us nachos with just cheese. We didn't realize it because of all the melted cheese. We ate some of it and then called our waiter over and returned the partially eaten dish. When the bill came we questioned why it was still on the bill (since he said he would remove it) and we were told they removed the charge for the meat! I have never heard anything so ridiculous! Wow talk about an amazing spot down the shore! My family has gone there for almost every brunch, lunch, dinner it all! We bring new family members and they even love it and constantly go! Definitely expect a long wait time with no reservations even for small parties... the bar and dining area is always packed. I love the decor of the place as well! read more
