I ALWAYS order from Sophia's. Today they lost a loyal customer. I called to place an order for delivery and a rude male answered the phone. I asked for a wrap that was on the menu but instead of meat sauce and American cheese I asked for vodka sauce and mozzarella cheese. He stated, verbatim....." that makes no sense..... tell me what you want and I will make it for you..", very rudely. I don't understand what didn't make sense as I spoke plain English. I then replied telling him that I was told I could not order a custom wrap and I proceeded to say what I wanted on my wrap. He cut me off with the nastiest attitude stating "I can't hear you speak in to the phone!" To which I then hung up. Be mindful of how you speak to people. No smart person would speak to any customer this way, especially if you are dealing with their food. What he should have done was apologize to me for the fact that his staff lied initially and stated they don't do custom wraps. Then proceed with a friendly tone...but instead he did the total opposite. I will tell everyone about my experience here as this was the most disgusting. I will NEVER order from this place again! read more

This is my go to spot for lunch in the area! Super awesome staff and delicious food. I would always go for the whole wheat pasta with either penne or pesto, and it would be so tasty and filling. Portions are very good so you can even take some home! Recently I've been eating their salads and they're also super good. Pictured here is the tuna salad with roasted red peppers and 3 cheeses. They have good lamb chops with vegetables (you get 5 lamb chops with sauteed garlic, carrots, broccoli and some various squashes, and their pizza is good too and so are their cannoli which has Chocolate Chips inside of the cream and all of their dessert are simply delicious and I've tried other dishes to and they were good. You can't go wrong if you are craving good pizza, and their dishes, they are kinda pricey, but they're food is so! worth it, that's my opinion anyway. read more

*This is strictly about my delivery order experience.* Ordering experience: Normal. Ordered online, my preferred way and it was painless. Delivery Man: Normal. No issues with him and he was very polite and professional. Food: Pepperoni bites were honestly the best part of the experience. The shrimp parmigiana hero I ordered was horrible. I have eaten many shrimp parmigiana hero sandwiches and this location's version was just not cutting it. Regarding the shrimp: the texture, the taste, the color and appearance -- all just terrible. I don't know if this is to their usual standard or if it was an off night but I ended up having to discard most of the sandwich and just eat the pepperoni bites. I have not tried the pizza or dine in service, but based on my experience ordering one of my favorite sandwiches that most pizza places can make with no problem, I probably won't be ordering again. Two stars because of the experience with ordering and with delivery and because of the saving grace of the pepperoni bites. read more

Utter disaster from start to finish. 2 hour wait on delivery when quoted 1 hour. We called to check after an hour and a half and were told that the delivery was out. Ok, so we'll be patient. Food finally arrives and is COLD...like really cold, no hint of warmth whatsoever which made the crust taste stale and the cheese rubbery. Bummer. Gave a call to let the restaurant know of the poor product we received and when I told them that it had taken 2 hours and came to us cold the man on the line told me "that's impossible, the delivery went out an hour ago." Really? Well that explains why it's cold then. Terrible customer service. Owning a restaurant myself I understand disasters happen. This review comes solely due to how terribly the situation was handled. Had the dude been genuinely apologetic I wouldn't have wasted my energy on a negative review but he didn't seem to care whatsoever that we were unhappy. The food took about two hours to get here, which of course was stone cold. All of it. The pizza was less than mediocre - some cardboard with tomato and cheese. The knots were dinner rolls dipped in some type of raw garlic and tasteless cheese combo. BUT the fettuccine alfredo was the absolute worst. I do not believe cheese to be an ingredient in this dish whatsoever, but definitely a white substance mixed in with 10 pounds of margarine. I ordered a large Sophia Special pizza for delivery while staying at a local hotel. The hotel provided me their menu which said, "get 10% off your first order" when you order on-line. When I did, the web-site asked for a coupon code. I called Sophia's and was told discount should be automatic and they don't have a coupon code, but I should download their app. I downloaded the app. and it did automatically discount 10%. The app. asked for a "billing address" after inputing my credit card info. In the "state" field it only gave me New York and New Jersey options. I called Sophia's back and was simply told, "I don't know why you're having so many problems". I finally tried entering my delivery address and it worked. Maybe it's a regional difference, but "billing address" usually means the address the credit card is registered to. About an hour later, I received a call from Eddie Rodriguez saying that he would be arriving to my hotel in a few minutes. When he arrived, I asked him where the Parmesan and hot peppers where. Suddenly, he couldn't speak English and left without giving me the requested condiments. In conclusion, ordering is difficult, delivery is inaccurate. The pizza was ok, and the only reason I gave Sophia's 2 stars. BTW, there's a $3.00 delivery charge they don't tell you about until you check-out. I work in JFK frequently. Delivery took over an hour and I am 3 minutes away. The pizza was cold and the salad was warm. The cheese on the salad was melted. I understand it is a Friday night but I did spend money on this and was very disappointed. I couldn't eat the salad because of how warm it was and I had to put the pizza in the oven. Came to New York to go fishing, bought $120 worth of food, Chicago pizza, chicken pollo, chicken fettuccine and seafood platter. Basically all the food tasted like they used ingredients from Walmart. Chicken was dry and thin. Tasteless. Pizza tastes like frozen box pizza. My son said the pasta tasted like macaroni and cheese lol. And the delivery driver was rude.
