I'm staying at an airport hotel, I didn't know what to order, I called the restaurant the young lady was very friendly and helpful at ordering, I ended up ordering the grilled chicken penne with vodka sauce. Also, she was very honest and said it would take approximately one hour to get my order, and it took exactly one hour and five minutes--which was perfectly fine! The delivery driver was also friendly And called me from the lobby where I took delivery. Food tasted great and hit the spot. After a long day of traveling my husband and I ordered delivery from Sofia's to our hotel room (Courtyard Marriott JFK). We got a large pizza with pepperoni ($8 large special on Sunday) and an antipasto salad ($8). The pizza is New York thin crust and it was very good. Nice and greasy ha! Probably the last thing I needed after eating like kings all week. The antipasto salad was huge and the meat and cheeses were placed on top in roll ups. Very unique. There was actually too much meat that we had to take some off. My husband didn't mind though. I recommend the house dressing- a mix between Italian and white balsamic. I have nothing but good things to say about Sofia's. Tonight I was craving something very comforting, so I browsed the menu and didn't really see anything eye catching (although I have their pizza very frequently). I called up and lucky me, they were open! I asked if hey could whip me up a shrimp scampi and linguini with garlic and olive oil, he says sure be there in 45. My food got to my house in under 20 minutes! Perks of living around the corner. The owner is a very genuine straight up kind of guy, always says hello and makes sure you've received the best service whether you're dining in or out. It's very hard to find food that tastes homemade, healthy and fast without it being drive through junk! If you're in the JFK area or work/live nearby and want a healthy meal this is your spot. I reccomend the salmon with steamed veggies (light sauce) plenty lemon! Also the shrimp scampi with linguini in garlic butter and olive oil with their complementary bread for more carb loving, it's a guarantee must try. Sofia's has been nothing short of excellent in my eyes! My family and I order here very often and when my boyfriend and I go to Home Depot I always ask him to run across and grab me a chicken tomato slice. Very refreshing and light. Not edible. The pizza, if that's what you call it, was absolutely disgusting. I've had an occasional bad pizza but this one is by far the worst ever. This place is absolutely terrible. I checked into a hotel by JFK because my flight got delayed, I didn't want to go out because the neighborhood is not so great in that area. I called in to order a recommendation of what he likes or what's the best seller, the person on the phone quickly replied with, "I don't recommend things because what if you don't like it? Then you will blame me." Uhhhh... ok? That was not only awkward, but a little bit rude too. So I decided to order a large combination thinking it should be a little bit of everything they have to offer. The person then replies with "Good Choice." When I was trying to finish my order he tells me he has a special on a large cheese pizza for only $8. Then, it sounded tempting, but I asked my buddy and he said let's just stick with the combination. I relayed that info to the guy, and he says "Are you sure? The cheese pizza is a great choice, and deal. If you want the combination it's gonna be more expensive. Around $18.. The cheese pizza is great." I'm a little tempted now because he sounded so enthusiastic on the phone even though he didn't "recommend" anything from the beginning. So from his now recommended cheese pizza, I decided to go for it. About 40 mins later the pizza came, and indeed it was a large pizza. The delivery guy didn't seem happy, he didn't even bring me napkins, cheese, peppers, or plates. I guess for $8 they don't give you full service. Me and my friend were starving, so we dug right now. This pizza was terrible. It was god awful. I finally know what "cardboard crust" tastes like. I never thought it was a real thing until I ate this crap. I don't know how they can recommend things or even be allowed to sell this. I ate 2, but that's because I had some left over ranch dressing from my salad at the airport. The bad reviews were right. Ever since my sister recommended this place after a drive to the nearby casino, if we're in the area we try to stop in for slices or a pie - and the garlic knots. Not bad at all in terms of pricing, place is clean, prompt service and so far they've been spot on when picking up a delivery call-in. If you want to eat on the same night you order, use another restaurant. Used their online ordering, which gives you the option to place a time you would like to receive delivery. Got a confirmation email that the food would arrive at 8:16.... it's now 9:40 and nothing. Called twice and all I got was a snotty little twit with a serious attitude problem. If you don't enjoy the job, I know McDonalds is hiring! Don't bother with this place if you want dinner. Someone needs to train their staff on proper customer service skills. AVOID!!! Pizza was ICE COLD and DISGUSTING!!! My husband ordered Pizza for the family around 3:30pm, but it didn't get the delivery until after 5pm! I regret eating at Sofia's more than I regret believing America wouldn't vote for Trump. The Alfredo tasted like I was actually biting into mouthfuls of butter.
