Based on the fantastic Yelp reviews, I knew we had to try this place while visiting Orlando. The inside space is cute and casual, and there is a large outdoor patio. The Churassco is absolutely fantastic! I would recommend this above anything else on the menu. The meat was so incredibly tender, and the chimichurri was some of the best I've had. Truly. Each entree comes with two sides, so you end up with a ton of food...not that I'm complaining! If that was the only thing we ordered, this restaurant would be a 5/5. Unfortunately, my husband had the roast chicken, which was a bit dry. However, the yuca fries he had were so yummy! I think we will be returning here during our next visit to Orlando! read more

Fantastic place for great latin food, quick to order, seat yourself, extensive menu! Would recommend! * Pollo Al Horno: $15.50 comes with house salad and 3 sides (plantains, yellow rice, and columbian potatoes) * Venezuelan Empanada: $4.75 * Guava Juice: $4.00 * Iced Mocha: $4.75 The chicken was a little drier than I would have liked but overall everything was amazing! I really liked how it came with 3 sides for the main plate and every side was really delicious. The Empanada was great with a crispy outside and soft juicy inside. The sauce it came with definitely elevated the flavors as well! Would love to come back and try the other items on the menu! read more

Sofrito is so delicious! It is the go-to spot as soon as I arrive to Orlando. They are open early. Coffee and food are absolute perfection. Cheese empanada is Michelin five star quality. Full bar open from early morning with a variety of Latino American beers sitting at pleasantly chill temperatures. Can't recommend this place enough. Staff is all super nice and attentive. read more

This spot had been on my list to visit FOREVER, so I was so happy to finally make it here. This location is located directly in Lake Buena Vista, not far from Disney, on Palm Parkway. The restaurant is large and super cute with a beautiful bar and a somewhat rustic ambiance. The menu is quite extensive and offers a great variety of options, including several vegetarian choices. I ordered the Vegetarian plate which came with a nice collection of vegetables and three sides. The portions were large and satisfying. The sides were really the standout of the meal for me! I loved the yucca, the sweet plantains and the black beans. I'll definitely return to Sofrito! read more

Yelp came in handy once again. What an amazing place. I came out like the food hero of the day after choosing for my family to eat here on vacation. The service was so professional, like really really professional. And the place was very nice with a cool ambience. But the main thing was just that the food. was. so. dang. good. Every member of my family absolutely loved and devoured their respective meals. My mom wouldn't even share hers lol. The tres leches was amazing, which I had bought like 10 of them. It could use more actual cake tho. Also, the black beans.... Wow! I'm Cuban and grew up eating black beans but theirs are the best I've ever had (don't tell my family lol). We all had Cuban sandwiches, as well as other food but mainly went for the sandwiches. Unfortunately they were dry and needed more to them. More of each ingredient maybe, I don't know. We were pretty disappointed but maybe it was an off day? Per.fec.tion. We had Colombian empanadas, Venez. pastelitos, pollo al horno, churrasco, with yuca, sweet and tostones, yellow rice and red beans, papa criolla. We didnt leave a grain of rice on the plates. I was so impressed that the herb flavor went all through the chicken--anywhere else in life, the seasoning is just in the surface of the meat, but thus was fully permeated. The passionfruit and colombiana were our favorite drinks. We werent as into the blackberry juice (my husband says it is better with milk mixed in?) and the tres leches wasnt my personal fave just cause i like it more fruit style than cinnamon, but my daughter loved it read more

Nowadays I feel like the wait time should be taken into consideration when rating. We now have the responsibility to grade on whether the wait time is worth the food. Due to the LONG wait time and mediocre food sofrito Latin cafe barely makes it to 3 stars. If you're in a hurry or hungry I'd pass on this place. 1-star location 1-star cleanliness 1-star ambiance -1star Service (wait time/host/cashier) -1 star food quality (mediocre) Overall, nothing but a cold iced coffee would bring me back since that's the only item they managed to bring quick and of good quality. read more

The family was in mood for some delicious Latin American food for dinner, and Sofrito Latin Cafe hit the spot! We really appreciated the ordering system. You stand in line for a few minutes, make your selections with the help of the staff, get a number, and finally sit and be served. It seemed to be the most efficient and fastest way to be served. Speaking of wait, our food came out in around 30 min which is to be expected, considering the volume of people coming through. The. Food. Was. Amazing! I got the Churrasco skirt steak which was delightfully tender and flavorful. The sides were good, but the steak was certainly the star. Portion sizes were excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant. Service was excellent. Staff brought out the food correctly and courteously. And overall the value was outstanding. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant experience for the area. We're still here while I'm writing this review... the food here is PHENOMENAL!!! Walked here from our hotel and wanted a quick bite, never expected this would be the best Latin food I'd ever had. The drinks are even amazing. Strong and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is cute and chic and very clean. Excellent restaurant! I highly recommend eating here. I love the contemporary vibe. Sofrito Latin Cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, and even a bar. They even have free WiFi and board games so you can hangout for a while. I LOVE that they serve different Latin dishes from different regions - it's like everything Latin goodness under one roof! You order your food at the front, find a seat, then a server will bring your scrumptious food out to you. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. We had dinner with a party of 8, and we had no problem finding a table to accommodate all of us. Everything we ordered was over-the-top delicious! We tried the ham croquettes, mini papa rellena, cachapa, roast pork, churrasco (skirt steak with chimichurri sauce,) and the pargo rojo (snapper fillet) with sides like yellow rice, black beans, tostones and more. All delicious food! We wanted to eat there again before heading back to California, but time didn't allow us. I guess that means we need to go back to Orlando. =) read more

Sofrito is in a convenient location near Walt Disney World for good food. It is a quick service restaurant so upon entering, you can grab a menu and order at the counter. They give you a number that you put on the table so they know where to deliver the food. I like that the food is a mix, especially of meats. My favorite is the pork. That dish is my go to with black beans, rice and boiled yucca. The pork is so soft and juicy and flavorful. One time I tried the sangria and it was excellent. I would recommend it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they check in with you during the meal to clear the table of dishes and to refill water. It gets super busy on Saturday nights so they're less attentive, but when it's not a huge rush, they are very present. I appreciate that this gem of a restaurant is nearby the Walt Disney World theme parks. read more

Whenever I get a chance to visit Florida, I'm always on the lookout for any Cuban or Puerto Rican restaurant where I can get some skirt steak and sweet plantains. It didn't take long for Sofrito's to come up in my Yelp search. I'm not exaggerating when I say we had a feast. We ordered churrasco, rice, red beans and sweet plantains, a tripleta, tostones and croquetas. OMG! Everything was so delicious! Even my kid's chicken fingers were perfectly breaded and so crispy. Their mojito was by far the best one I had in my vacation. I was sad it was the very last day of our vacation because otherwise, I would have been back for more. read more

The food was good, but the service was poor.This place has two systems for ordering and non of them included table service , but they still want you to tip. Even when you have to literally pick up your silverware(no plastic)and they bring you dessert before food .It's a mix of restaurant (price and food presentation) with fast food .They have a lot of staff just standing around,but every time you need something you will have to go and ask several times , even water which is not offered or have a place for you to self serve . Like I said before food was ok , but I rather spend the same amount of money or more with someone that values costumers and have their business vision clear , you can't be charging restaurant prices due to presentation and place ambiance and wanting me to do servers jobs ( no offense). read more

i wanted to order chicken tenders because i wasn't super hungry and the man literally told me i cannot order because im not a kid. he gave me a hard time as my dad tried to tell him to add an order of chicken tenders and the man kept saying he cannot due to me not being under 10. i ended up ordering on the kiosk and got chicken tenders. another man came over and we told him what happened and he apologized. i would not recommend coming here because of the attitudes here. read more

I'd give this place 10 STARS if that was possible. I wanna bring this restaurant home with me!! This food is AMAZING! We just happened to be staying at a nearby hotel, curiosity got the best of me and I'm so glad. We ordered takeout of so many different items & loved every bit of it. I've never seen a restaurant serve 4 different types of empanadas & this place did all 4 perfectly. The Argentinian was my least favorite but still tasty. I recommend getting all 4, they're priced right so don't deprive your tastebuds. I ordered the churrasco dinner, medium rare, and it was cooked beautifully. I've learned that thin cut meats can be hit or miss...this was the most tender, flavorful HIT I've ever tasted. I really could go on and on describing each and every item but I think you should stop reading, stop searching, stop scrolling and go to Sofrito's ahora (right now!)!!!!! I would seriously consider driving all the way from Tampa just to eat here. I will definitely be back! read more

Delicious food, outdoor seating, reasonable prices and great service. What more could you ask for??!!! I had the occasion to stop in for a bite on a Tuesday evening. Upon walking in I was greeted by a young lady who asked if it was my first visit and took the time to explain that I would need to order first using one of the menu boards and then find a seed of my choice and the food would be brought out. With the menu in hand, I struggled to pick just one entrée because of the large variety of options. I finally settled on a Cuban sandwich, Nutella empanada, yellow rice and red beans. While I knew I probably could not eat everything, I was determined to try to taste it all. I was blown away by every aspect of my meal with the exception of not receiving one of the side items and receiving the fried dessert along with the main entrée items despite being told that it would come later while ordering. That said, when I brought the missing side item to the attention of the server, it was brought out in 2 minutes and the empanada dessert, it was still warm and tasty after sitting for 10 -15 minutes. This is a solid option if in the area. Without question, I would return. read more

Yes this place is utterly AMAZING. Beginning to end wholeheartedly IMPRESSIVE. I know caps, chill right. Must give credit where it is deserved. Honestly at first I wasn't sure what to expect. Well I didn't get why they had the fast food like, cafeteria way of ordering food. You know, stand in line at the cash register and they will bring your food. Whatever, not a big deal. We ordered the shredded beef cachapa and the steak chimmichurri with fried bananas and tostones. OMG GREAT. Both of them were a home run with flavor. Can't even explain how good it was and the chimmichurri sauce too yes for sure! We ordered guava and passion fruit juice to wash it down. Guava juice was better in my opinion. We also took alfajores, pan de bono, and a Nutella empanadas to go. The alfajores and pan de bono were so good. We were starving after a long day but the food came out in around 20ish minutes which wasn't too bad. The serving sizes were quite huge. We didn't expect this much food for two portions. For $34 per plate, the dishes were large and came with a large helping of sides. The fried chicken was extremely crispy and juicy. They originally wanted to serve the food quickly/more fresh so they served a chicken thigh to me after on a second plate. They also forgot my substitution of Mac n cheese for mash potatoes so I got a free helping of mash which was sweet. The pickled cucumber was light and fresh which tasted great with the heavier chicken. The potatoes were a little heavy and I wish came with gravy, but still delicious. I really loved the Mac n cheese and finished that up. The chicken steak was also delicious with the grits but a little too salty. Wish they added the grits to the side for me to dip as it became a little too much at times. It was better to eat it with a side of potatoes to balance the flavor. The broccolini was sautéed perfectly and delicious, could eat a whole plate of those alone. The biscuits weren't bad but tasted better eaten with the potatoes. The food was a little heavy but so so good. We had to take half of the food to our hotel and ate it the next day for dinner as it was way too much food for one meal. Even after microwaving it, the food was just as delicious and flavorful. We spent about $80 but had so much food leftover. An expensive dinner, but everything tasted amazing. Would definitely come back if I had the chance.

Here it is: We was attracted by the name "Sofrito", especially because my two companions are actually Puerto Rican and they were craving for Puerto Rican food. First thing we asked was for the famous Mofongo, they said that they have it. We ordered a Shrimp mofongo and a Pork mofongo, myself I ordered Roast Pork. While we wait for it we got some empanadas that were delicious, and other appetizers really good. When we got the entrees there was the problem. The mofongo was cold and we doubt about it that it was made on premises. About my roast pork, I was not able to eat it. I try a couple of pieces and I left it in the plate almost untouched. I have never had such a hard rock pieces of pork with a microwave reheated test. Because I am honest i told the server right away. We ended up not eaten our entrees because my companions had similar issues. I was drinking beer and my companions coconut soda. Because the bad test of the food was in our mouth before we left, we ask for one coconut soda to wash it down. We paid our bill in full, even if we did not eat the food, and we left. Can you believe that they rushed out asking us to pay for the last can of soda? Obviously this people does not have any restaurant experience ! Any restaurant if you leave the food untouched will have some kind of compensation, some others will not even charge you for the food you did not eat !. We visited this place three years ago and had a fantastic experience, so we were excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. When we ordered lunch to go, we encountered several issues during pickup, but we assumed it was just a one-time problem. We decided to give it another try and came in for dinner today. Sadly, things only got worse. Winni took our order incorrectly, was noticeably rude, and overcharged us. When we asked her to correct the mistake, she responded with an attitude rather than an apology. When the food finally arrived, it was extremely bland and lacked any flavor. To top it off, we ordered dessert, but it was never brought out--we had to specifically ask for it. Overall, this visit was nothing like our first and left us very disappointed. The small piece I got was $15 for lunch. *Important - Do not take your significant other to this place! The worse service in Orlando a -10. Place was empty and we had to wait over 30 minutes for a coffee. Spoke to the Manager and still did not get service. Soup was spilled all over the plate, food was totally cold after they finally brought it. I have never, ever received such an unprofessional and insufficient service. Order at the counter and food is brought to the table. Portions are a bit small but food was good. Prices were fair. Restaurant was very clean and very busy. Staff moved quickly and it was difficult to get attention when there were issues. Sad that bread wasn't served with the meal. Ive been to a lot of Cuban restaurants given I live in Tampa and not getting bread is really unusual. Still, an authentic meal with some other Latin menu items. read more

There are many options for Latino food in Florida. Being a chef and one that cooks and eats this type of cuisine regularly, I can be critical at time. This was not bad at all. I enjoyed the outside cafe area, and the service was good. Prices were not bad for the area and the connivence of several hotels within walking distance. This is the 3rd time I order empanadas from here and it's been the same so it's no mistake , they're cheap with the meat . My daughter's chicken was exceptionally dry but she said it was ok. Her fingerling potatoes had good flavor but we're off-putting because they were drenched in sauce and mushy. The mushroom risotto with scallops and pancetta was thick and creamy. The flavor was good, the scallops small, and the pancetta in small cubes. They should not have put the bland mushrooms across the top. The bone in pork chop was a little tough, and the bleu cheese flavor hits you over the head. Avoid if you don't like bleu cheese. The fingerling potatoes were perfect with this dish. The four of us were exceedingly uncomfortable every second we were in the restaurant because I would venture to guess the air conditioning was set to 60°. Two of us had jackets on with our hoods up in August. Our server explained that they keep it this cold because when it's hot outside, the humidity makes it damp inside. I argue that they could easily still turn it up a few degrees and the humidity wouldn't shoot up too much for comfort. When your check arrives, figure out the tip on your own instead of using their suggestion since they include taxes in their suggested tip. Tip should always be figured from the subtotal. Surprisingly, they did not even wish us a happy anniversary, and I made a note on the reservation. I read that Mythos will be closing within a year. If they are updating and not changing it completely, I hope they fix these issues because it really did have a great vibe. As it stands, I would not return, but hope you have a positive experience. Remember a sweater! :)
