This is a terrific pan-Latin restaurant that is a whole lot better than it needs to be in the tourist corridor. In fact, it's probably the best Latin restaurant in town. (Just to clarify, it is NOT Latin fusion, which would combine the cuisines of different countries; instead, they offer different foods from many Latin countries.) Although it's a quick serve concept where you order at the counter and food is delivered to the table, the service is exceptional. The staff is clearly enthusiastic about their food, and is welcoming and anxious to explain the menu, and to promote their favorite items. My favorite items were the Pandebono, a round, cheesy, and slightly sweet Colombian bread, and the Cachapa, a Venezuelan sweet corn pancake filled with white cheese and (in my case) beef. Both were a complex combination of savory and sweet flavors, with both crisp and chewy textures. I've never had a better Chachapa. I also enjoyed the Venezuelan empanada, although it didn't have a lot of filling. I was less enthusiastic about the Mini Cheese Tequeños, which were cheese filled pastry rolls without a lot of flavor. There are a number of interesting beers on tap, South American soft drinks, and excellent Cuban coffee. If you're visiting and looking for something non-touristy and a bit different, this is a great choice. And if you're a local, it's worth the drive to Lake Buena Vista to get your Latin food fix. read more

WOW! The food was amazing! We ordered takeout tonight and had never heard of Sofrito Latin Cafe but it popped up on UberEats as being close and we wanted to try something new. (We are doing a mini staycation at the Holiday Inn Express). I ordered the roasted pork. It was so dang moist (I said it) and so flavorful. It was a giant mound of pulled pork. It also came with 3 sides and a side salad all for under $10. The portions were amazing! The food so flavorful!! I also ordered the Cuban chicken empanada and OMG SO GOOD! Let's talk about Sofrito! I loved the food! My friend and I ordered the patacón with shredded beef and it was really good. The services was good as well... I didn't give them 5 stars as we order some of the natural juice and neither my friend and I thought it was completely natural. It was good tho and we we drink it all. But not really wat we were hoping for. I also order coffee towards the end of our visit and that was also ok. I got the cafe con leche iced and it was mainly milk, which I don't really like. Even if my coffee is iced I like to taste the coffee a bit more. I'm really picky with my coffee so I encourage you to try it , you might have a different experience. Overall, this is a great place for lunch, brunch, or just to eat a yummy meal . I like how they have different types of foods from different Latin American countries. What a great gem to find! (Thanks, Yelp!) I ordered the pollo a la plancha, as well as a papa rellena, and my husband got the chacarero de pollo. Everything was really good! I had so much food that I had to get a to go box. I will definitely eat here again. The owner was very friendly and made sure that the service was flawless. She was really helpful and knowledgeable about the food they serve, as one would hope. One awesome thing she said she was doing was working on having all local beer and wine to help support local businesses. Props to her! The ambiance was modern and very open. Sofrito Latin Cafe is a casual dining spot. Clean and plenty of seating! You order from the counter and then a server brings your food to your table. My boyfriend and I got the Colombian burgers. The burgers are huge!! Honestly one burger is enough for two people. The coleslaw, potato sticks, and cilantro garlic sauce on the burger really make it unique. If you're in Orlando, this place is definitely a spot you need the visit. My group was craving Cuban food and thankfully Sofrito was close to our hotel. We were here for dinner on a Sunday night and a group of 12 got seated without any wait. Walking in, you can order right away and you'll get a number. I got a Peruvian lomo soltado and a peach moscato. The food arrived fairly quickly and the portions were HUGE! The food was tasty, and I definitely recommend getting the peach moscato on the side to go along with your food. The lomo saltado came with your traditional beef, rice, and vegetables. The beef was a little tough, but the dish had a good flavor overall. I also had a chance to try the pulled pork which was very tender. Surprisingly one of the best latin/hispanic restaurants in Orlando. That's definitely saying something because I usually don't trust the food around the Disney area but this one has been a family favorite. Over the years they've changed it from a real restaurant feel to more of a order at the kiosk stands and then grab a seat somewhere (which I love as someone who doesn't love socializing). We always get the patacon and it's fantastic! The cocktails are also great and have a fantastic price (though I'm not much of a drinker!). I love this place's guava juice but that's mostly just because I love guava. We're Argentinian so we refuse to try any empanada that's over $1 (we make them great at home) + we have cheaper options for most of the foods so unfortunately we'll never end up trying most of the starter items here but all the entrees are great and fairly priced. read more

First time trying a cortadito (Cuban espresso) and it was delicious! Amazing flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and definitely enough caffeine to help you get your day started. The decor is also very nice and modern. We knew we had to come back the next day to try the food and we were not disappointed. We all got Cuban sandwiches. I think they were called media noches. The sandwiches were nice and big, full of flavor. My husband and I split sides of black beans and fried plantains which were great accompaniments to our sandwiches. I've never seen such a cool idea for Latin food--the menu has food from multiple different Latin American countries--empanadas from 4 different countries (Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina and Cuba); sopa de pollo (chicken soup) from Dominican Republic, Tripleta sandwiches from Puerto Rico, Chacarero sandwiches from Chile, Loma Saltada from Peru, and on and on! The tequenos were incredible--normally I find them with just cheese but these had cheese and guava...and as one knows that has had this combo, it's always a hit. They were so good here. I ordered the Patacon (Venezuelan sandwich) with chicken instead of beef/pork and this was delicious and unique. The grilled plantains that made up the "sandwich" were crispy and huge--didn't taste oily at all. The chicken was shredded and expertly marinated in this garlic-cilantro sauce which was just delicious. Service was very friendly and I loved the decor of this place--so modern and clean lines with a "community bookcase" that had everything from plants to books in Spanish to board games. Only 32 dollars for some the best South American food I've ever had outside of peru/Argentina. Food: We got the churrasco which was moist with some tartness from the chimichurri sauce. This was our favorite. Hubby also got the pulled pork, which was a huge portion. All entrees comes with three sides and all of it was on point. Some of the best plantains I've ever had with the perfect amount of char, but cooked through on the inside. Last and not least, the churros! Holy moly I've dreamed about these churros since I visited Argentina and first found churros covered in dulce de Leche. They are like disney quality churros with decadent caramel on top. Visiting waltdisneyworld around the Holidays is fabulous. The parks are decorated and the holiday cheer is in the air. Before the parks, we stopped at Sofritos and chowed down on a ginormous delicious breakfast. We split the Omelet de Jamon y Queso (ham&cheese omelet, bacon, fried yuca, and Cuban Toast. The omelet was very fluffy and meaty. The Cuban Toast was crisp and seasoned well. I've been wanting to come here for some time now, so I told my boyfriend today is the day! First impressions it's clean, the space is big enough where it doesn't feel too tight inside. My boyfriend ordered a Colombian empanada not pictured here because we went in the moment it was brought to our table. It was nice and crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. BUT once we hit the middle of the empanada it was cold and I mean refrigerator cold. I'm sure these are kept frozen and are cooked to order, but it was cold. The flavor was definitely there though. I ordered a tripleta sandwich, it was juicy and had enough meat in it and it was huge! I ordered it based on pictures I had seen online and I thought I was on the smaller size, I was wrong lol this thing can feed two people easily. My boyfriend ordered the churrasco with white rice, red beans, yuca and salad. His meal was good, packed with tons of flavor but it was cold not even warm cold like my ass has been sitting here waiting for 20-25 minutes cold. The winner here was the mojo sauce it was so damn good, best one I've tried so far. My boyfriend poured it over his entire meal, that's how good it was! You walk in and they hand you their menu and explain how everything works. Basically you look at the menu and order right there at the register. You can sit down while you decide, which I would suggest in case it gets busy. After you order they give you a number and you wait at your table, then they bring the food to you. We ordered a big selection to do a taste test and glad we did. We got the Argentina beef empanada, Columbia beef empanada, Cuba beef empanada, Venezuelan beef empanada, Cuban sandwich, Venezuelan beef & cheese Arepas, & plantations. Everything was amazing and very authentic from our travels. I can't wait to go back and have more. The Cuba and Venezuelan was our favorite but all was so good. CONSISTENTLY GOOD. This is probably the 5th time I've been here, and I don't live in Orlando. I live 3 hours away. If I am in this area, I know I can head to Sofrito's for some good freaking food. The skirt steak is always tender, well seasoned, and their sides are always delicious. I mean, it's hard to mess up maduros (sweet plantains) and boiled yucca, but...you COULD! And they never do.
