Limited strawberry mochi flavour! This was from two months ago so this flavour is no longer available. I rlly wish I waited and tried the matcha strawberry mochi flavour but I'm still glad I tried this one. I enjoyed the mochi at the bottom and found the strawberry flavour really good. Overall I really like how they have rotational flavours every month and I think it's rlly fun. However, I think they are pretty pricey for soft serve.
I saw this place on Instagram so I had bookmarked it for our trip to Vancouver. We stopped in on a Monday at around 2 PM. It's very easy to miss because the sign is very subtle, and the storefront looks like it's closed. It's on the edge of Gastown, so it's still fine but if you walk a block or two further than this, it starts getting a bit shady. I originally wanted to try the honeycomb peak but read mixed opinions on whether or not you should eat honeycomb while pregnant. So instead, I opted for the Brown Sugar Pearls (brown sugar drizzle with tapioca pearls) and hubby had Gastown (homemade tiramisu toppings). Mine was good but nothing amazing, and nothing I couldn't find somewhere else. Hubby's was too sweet for my taste. The annoying thing was that there were little flies everywhere. One took the first bite of my ice cream before I even got the chance to. Maybe we didn't get the right flavors but I would say this spot isn't worth going out of your way for. Luckily, we were already in Gastown.
When I heard about the new seasonal offering, I made sure to drop by for the matchamisu. As a tiramisu lover, the creamy mascarpone cream was really nice and helped to balance out the bitterness of the matcha soft serve. The lady fingers were well soaked in uji matcha and adds the perfect texture to each bite.
Clean interior and easy to order. They have great pre planned combos but you can also dream up and include additional toppings. Love the unique offerings. They use organic milk which I love. The ice cream itself isn't very sweet so great for those that don't like things too sweet. It's very creamy. I would love to try again with different flavors as mine didn't have enough punch for me until the end (the brown sugar settled near the bottom). Did have the vibe of brown sugar boba in ice cream form. Service was very quick. There is seating inside available.
I went to Soft Peaks and got the egg tart parfait for the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival! The ice cream was so incredibly creamy and soft and paired nicely with the egg-tart. The ice cream by itself was a bit basic and the egg-tart was just okay as there was a lot more crust than filling. However, together with the custard sauce, it was better! I really liked the design of the store though. There was a flight of stairs leading to an upstairs seating area and a mirror on the wall where you can take a cute photo. I think I'd have to try another flavour to write a better review!
Needed a quick pick me up after exploring Canada Place and Gastown. Hubs and I shared the seasonal Ube Sago (ube soft sweet with Sago and ube jelly). The soft serve was creamy and full of ube flavor. We liked the Sago and ube jelly with the soft serve - Not too sweet. Quite a few combinations to choose from or customize your own.
Cute little gem in Gastown. It was quiet as it was a cold night. Tried the honeycomb one. The cornflakes is key in this one as the wax from the honeycomb detracts from the texture. Tried their seasonal matcha one which wasn't bad as I am a fan of red bean. Overall it was great and they even have seating upstairs.
Solid ice cream spot. It's very creamy and quite sweet. The portions are generous. I like how they give the cookie on the side so you can have some textural difference. Yummy treat if you're in the Gastown area. I quite like the tiramisu one because the cacao they add on top is thicker (?) so you can almost "chew" on it. It must be mixed with coffee as well! You can also pick your own flavours and toppings! Depending on what you like!
I don't think it's worth all the hype of lining up and waiting. The sunset of California is simply milk icecream with yuzu sauce (like those jars of yuzu tea sauce you get in supermarket) The breakfast style is just cereal with milk icecream. The Rocky Mountain is just chocolate sauce on milk icecream. Honestly there is nothing special to these fancy names. I would suggest just try a plain one with either honey or caramel sauce. The ice cream itself is not sweet at all, It's very interesting... More like biting cold cream that tastes like condensed whole milk. read more
Not worth the price. $7.09 for a regular "organic dairy" soft serve ice cream with matcha powder sprinkled on top and 2 teaspoons of red bean. Not sure what all the hype is about as it was a very simple treat without any special flavour. It's a cute place and the signs are nice. It's a great idea but the price is steep and the value just wasn't there for me. If they had flavoured organic soft serve (actual matcha ice cream) then it would be worth it. But these Sundaes are just for Instagram pics. Good service and it was quick. Seating is extremely limited. Will try again if they introduce flavoured ice cream or add some real fruit/ low sugar syrups to the menu. read more
Very cute ice cream parlor in Gastown serving up delicious soft serve with not-your-typical toppings. We ordered the honeycomb soft serve and the blackcomb soft serve. They were both absolutely delightful. There's something different with their soft serve vs. other places I've been too. It's much creamier and smoother. Would definitely come back for more! read more
So cute! So.... PRETTY! Soft Peaks is located in Gastown and is a super cool soft-serve ice cream store. Made with 100% organic milk and full of locally-made toppings, the ice cream is worth travelling for. The store has two floors and a cute instagram-photo frame for you to take a photo with. It's a little pricey for ice cream but it's deliciously smooth and creamy. You can purchase their signature flavour ice cream or milk shakes! Personally I enjoyed their Honeycomb Peak and my friend's Green Forest. If you're in the area, Soft Peaks is a must-try location! read more

Just being brutally honest, that's for the taste. But 4 stars for the ambience and location, they've got their marketing together. I'm happy to pay $6.25 for a tiny portion if the soft serve actually tasted good, like Earnest. had the mud slide, nothing to write home about. As mentioned, great labelling and menu presentation. but my serious beef is their sneaky way of twirling the ice cream into the cup with a hollow centre, so not getting a full cup, as per pic. not cool. no way would I ever be back unless for out of town guests. They'll snag a good chunk of Gastown's tourism dollars. I get it is supposed to be healthier but to me, too thick and not serve like it is supposed to be. read more
The world of gourmet soft serve has finally arrived in Vancouver. With the arrival of Soft Peaks, regular soft serve will never taste the same. Soft Peaks uses organic Avalon milk for its soft serve, and it's lower in calories and fat than ice-cream. The space is in the heart of Gastown, with simple decor. There's some upper level seating and 2 tables on the ground floor. The menu has some unique combinations, such as yuzu marmalade and Himalayan pink salt. The signature is the Honeycomb Peak. I had to try it. The verdict? I love it. The soft serve is creamy, and not too sweet at all. The chunk of local honeycomb was a perfect topping for it. It added the bit of sweetness, which was perfect. I'm looking forward to revisiting and trying their different topping combinations! read more
Made with Avalon milk, this soft serve is not as rich and calorie-ridden as regular ice cream but just as tasty! I had the Rocky Mountain, which is their signature twist with toasted coconut and caramel (you can also get honey or maple syrup). It was very tasty though I think I would have liked a stronger complement to the soft serve than the caramel. Maybe chocolate? I love how I didn't feel gross after eating it like I do if I eat ice cream. Definitely coming back! read more

I just want to start off by saying that I was really excited to try this place out. With that being said, my boyfriend and I decided to check the place out, even though it was lined up out the door. The house music playing in the back ground was a bit odd as well. The decor is great, and their menu board is super inciting with flavour options like honeycomb and Tim tams with chocolate sauce. We decided to try the honeycomb one, and about 5 minutes later we were walking out the door. I was really excited to eat it because it looked so good, but taking the first bite of just the ice cream was so disappointing. It's not even ice cream. Its basically just cold milk with no flavour at all. The honeycomb was so hard to break off, and I think the only thing that gave it some justice was the cereal at the bottom. I'm not sure if I will ever go back, but maybe it might be better with some chocolate syrup. I'd rather not waste my money though. read more
Not bad. Like other Yelpers say - it's not a lot of soft serve for $6. Ordered the honeycomb which had a big glob of honey and some cereal at the bottom. Although the honey added a nice flavour to the ice cream, the coldness pretty much froze the honey making it impossible to eat. Had to pretty much throw away most of the honey chunks. Overall worth trying. Wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip to gastown for it. read more

The latter half of 2013, countless restaurants and dessert shops churned out milky goodness and added soft serve ice cream to their menu. Opened by brothers, Dan and Ken Kim recently opened Soft Peaks in 25 Alexander Street Gastown. Soft Peaks ice cream is the newest dessert shop to open Jan 16, 2015. Soft opening hours are Thrusday to Sunday 1 to 9 pm or when they run out of stock. What makes Soft Peaks different than a McDonald's ice cream sundae or a DairyQueen DQ sundae with chocolate fudge? Soft Peaks features Avalon Dairy BC Certified Organic milk churned into a all natural creamy goodness. It is free from chemical stabilizers. Their signature sell is beautiful golden honeycomb from the Okanagan, crushed Tim Tams, and yuzu marmalade. But wait, this all looks too familiar to MilkCow in Philippines. MilkCow also boasts to be the best soft serve ice cream made from organic milk and topped with a piece of gooey natural honeycomb! Cotton candy and macaron toppings are other sinful options! Flavors include Snow Drop (cotton candy, sea salt and jelly beans), Milky Pop (caramel corn with caramel syrup) and Milky Crisp (rice crispies with macarons). Coincidence? HONEYCOMB PEAK Sm $6.00 | Rg $6.75: We enjoyed the rich creamy ice cream. Being a fan of Avalon's milk, I particularly loved that it is organic. Topped with a piece of local honeycomb. Honeycombs are not extremely sweet as you might think. But is subtle and compliments the soft serve ice cream well. Cornflakes was a nice touch of Momofuku Milk Bar. SALTY HIMALYAN Sm $5.25 | $6.00 | This was somewhat disappointing that we could not see or taste much of the Himalayan pink salt. Instead of the choice of caramel, chocolate or organic maple syrup; liquid honey was suggested. No major difference compared to the Honeycomb Peak ice cream. I would probably suggest trying the Rocky Mountain with toasted coconut or the Mudslide topped with TimTam flakes and chocolate syrup instead. Interior design by MāK Interiors. There was quite a buzz on my Instagram feed when Soft Peaks started popping up on my feed. I decided to make a stop during their soft opening and here's my late review: Dropped by on an afternoon and there was already people eating inside during the soft opening- a really good turn out. The lady at the cash desk was really friendly and welcoming. During the soft opening week, they were charging us a small cup for a large, which was a pretty awesome deal. I got their signature Honeycomb flavor and only waited about 10min as there was a line of people waiting to get their order and only Den and Ken (owners) making the orders. The honeycomb flavor was basically all ice cream, small bits of cornflakes all the way at the bottom, and a good chunk of the honeycomb at the top. The ice cream took a whole portion of the cup and because the ice cream itself wasn't sweet, you have to scoop a tiny bit of the honeycomb to combine the two flavors together to create a party in your tastes buds. The pricing is pretty steep and wouldn't be an ideal frequent spot for me, perhaps a once in awhile treat at best. read more
Gastown is abuzz with a new dessert treat invading our stomachs. The brothers Kim (Dan and Ken) have not so quietly opened up and launched their soft serve dispensary inspired by Hong Kong/Korean style ice creameries. Made with Avalon Dairy organic milk and all natural ingredients, their signature soft serve ice cream twists come in a variety of combinations with interesting toppings from Himalayan pink salt to maple syrup, sour Yuzu marmalade, and cornflakes. I braved the long line up and ordered the mudslide (topped with Tim Tam flakes and chocolate syrup) and very much enjoyed the rich, thick, and flavourful ice cream. It's not too sweet and the mix of toppings suit the dessert well. There's already a steady stream of visitors, packing the quaint little shop, eagerly awaiting a cup of soft serve. So far, they've run through their supply each day (closing early to reload) with their machine trying to keep up with demand (expect a friendly 10-15 minute wait) before they officially open full bore. Other flavour options include the honeycomb peak (with a piece of honeycomb) and Rocky Mountain (topped with toasted coconut and caramel sauce). I foresee many visits to Soft Peaks to quench my sweet tooth while strolling around Gastown. read more
We wanted to try this place as it offers ice cream made from local organic milk and were pleasantly surprised by what the whole experience was. Absolutely LOVED the ice cream! Basically it's like cream with the natural sweetness of milk (they don't add any sugars to the ice cream which makes it authentic...) The sweetness comes from the syrup/sauce you chose and the toppings. I found it to be the perfect amount of sweetness, where you get to really taste and enjoy the ingredients. We got the small size ice cream and really enjoyed it. Portion sizes are European which is the perfect amount (as opposed to the heavy American sized portion you'd typically find filled with added refined sugars) Staff is super friendly and very accommodating! I'll definitely go there again. read more
A year ago, I tried their seasonal flavour with blueberries and loved it. This time I came and tried their blackcomb which is pretty much like an affogato. I found the softserve to be more rich and heavy compared to last year. I much preferred the lighter consistency. Also tried a bit of my partner's green tea flavoured softserve. The green tea flavour didn't cut through for me. They now serve milk pops for $4 and for an additional $0.75 you can add 1 topping and 1 type of syrup. read more
Came here yesterday for dessert. Was in the Chinatown/Gastown area and actually wanted froyo but soft serve will have to do as this is the only option nearby. Ordered the "snow berry" which had fresh organic strawberries, agave syrup, and cereal flakes with the soft serve. First thing I noticed was the size. I thought they accidentally gave me the small, when I wanted the regular. But nope, I actually got the regular. The soft serve itself was not bad. The toppings were a decent touch to go with the soft serve. But is it worth $6.50 with some toppings? Absolutely not in my books. I don't think the price of cereal has gone up that considerably. It probably would have been much more friendlier to my wallet if I wanted soft serve I should have gone to Danny's Market in Richmond for a Screamer. If I wanted more toppings and pay a comparable rate, I probably would have opted for Menchies and their froyo. And then there are always McFlurries. While this concoction was decent, it was definitely not a foodgasm in my mouth. Coupled with the exorbitant prices for what you get, I feel 3 stars is fairly generous. Unfortunately, I would likely not be back. read more
There's an ice cream shop similar to Soft Peaks called Honeymee in Los Angeles. When I heard there was an ice cream like this in Vancouver, I had to try it out! The portions are a bit bigger and the milk in the ice cream is much smoother at Soft Peaks. It's something out of this world... you can tell the ingredients are fresh. I ended up getting one with honey and maple syrup (only in Canada). After finishing my share, I almost went back for another... this is definitely a place to go if you are in Gastown. It's a bit near the end of the major shopping, but it is worth the small walk. Next time I go, I want to try the matcha green tea! read more

I came in here on a weekday afternoon with 1 other person. There was a relatively short line up and it took about 10 minutes for the order to be completed. The seating is limited but there is more seating upstairs, which is much better for groups as well. The atmosphere is very fitting for a place in yaletown as it is very trendy and hipstery. I ordered 1 softpeak to share with my girlfriend. It was delicious! For a dessert or even a nice chat, I would recommend this place to others. The pricing is a little high though, but again I need to keep in mind that this is downtown. Parking is difficult to find as well (pay parking). read more

Come early to avoid lines!!! They open until 10pm which is great for post dinner desserts. I like how they have the twist option to get the best of both worlds. I was disappointed in the the "large" sizing compared to the small. To me it was much of a differences. Maybe my expectations for ice cream cone should be lowered. The original peak was satisfying! I added honey for .75$ but the toppings seem minimal. The cereal was all the way of the bottom so you have to dig deep to reach. read more
I'm glad I gave this place a second chance! On my first visit I had their honey comb soft serve which, while refreshing and not overly sweet, was still a bit underwhelming. There really wasn't much to it and the honey comb was a bit too hard and difficult to eat. Fast forward to my latest visit a few months later and I must say that the flavour combination I got this time was perfect. The mudslide is definitely a chocolate lover's paradise. Copious amounts of Tim Tam chunks with chocolate syrup - awesome. The sweet is balanced out my the smooth and creamy soft serve, making for a wonderful treat. My friend also got the matcha red bean and condensed milk and I loved how well the flavours mingled with that one as well! For the uninitiated, red bean is a dessert item, though not for everyone! The service if this place is very fast and super welcoming. As per my tip, this is no dairy queen. If you want intense, sickly sweet dessert, go elsewhere. read more
Yum! This place is an organic milk-based soft serve dessert place. Inside was super cute, but I imagine it could get crowded if more than five groups of people stopped by. It was our first time there and the person working was really helpful with our decision making. We ordered a vanilla based soft serve with Tim-Tams, an Australian chocolate wafer bar, and honey. We got a small to share and it was a nice amount for the both of us. The flavors were balanced and the toppings weren't too overwhelming. The soft serve itself is very milky. By itself it isn't too sweet but with other sweet toppings/syrups it really comes together. read more

Finally I could try this famous place and a have to say: the ice cream is delicious. It is very creamy and thick. I just noticed that we have to choose the right topping, otherwise it doesn't give enough taste to the ice cream. I had the mudslide (tim tam flakes and chocolate syrup) and I liked a lot. In the beginning it tastes more the ice cream itself but it gets better when the toppings mix with the ice cream. I just removed one star because of the 2 long lines I had to take (30min of wait in total) and I think it isn't worth the wait. The are other ice cream shops as good as this on in the area. read more

Not worth the wait When I first heard of this place, I got quite excited. It sounded very delicious and healthy, which is perfect for a city like vancouver. I finally made it there from the suburb, and I have to say I'm not blown away. The ice cream/frozen yogurt is okay. Nothing special about them. The honey comb part was too big and dense, which I guess that's how they naturally are. I appreciate the fact that they are all organic, but it was hard to scoop with a spoon. If you try to bite it, it is too sweet. I think the best thing is to order a tea and ask if they can put honey comb in there. Overall, I would still recommend people to give it a try, but I don't think I would miss it read more
My girlfriend and I tried their honeycomb peak. It's a vanilla soft serve with corn flakes at the bottom with a block of honeycomb on top. It was good.. but honestly I was expecting something better especially for the price I pad ($6 +tax for a small). To be honest I prefer my soft serves a little sweeter. Not the cheapest ice cream, but it's organic and healthier than regular ice cream. It's also pretty tasty! I got the rocky mountain - the signature twist with toasted coconut - with chocolate syrup. The twist was good and the organic milk taste wasn't overwhelming. The chocolate sauce also was a nice touch. The cashier was also very friendly and patient with all of our different questions which was appreciated. read more

Having tried the popular organic milk soft serve in Korea with the honeycomb topping on top, I knew the Korean founders were bringing it into Canada after Korea's popularity skyrocketed. The ice cream shop offers a variety of toppings to go with your organic milk ice cream. Hubby and I chose the original honeycomb topping to share, because we wanted to compare how it tasted with Korea's Softree. If I'm ever in town again, I would go back to try their Yuzu (candied citrus) flavour and green tea flavour out of curiosity. The ice cream shop has very hipster decor which I personally like. They also offer upstairs seating to enjoy your ice cream, but sadly I didn't have a chance to go upstairs to check it out. When we visited, there was a line already existing, which proved that the ice cream shop was booming with business. We ordered the larger size to share, and the wait wasn't too long, and moved faster than expected. There was cereal (frosted flakes?) at the very bottom of the cup which tasted well with the milk ice cream, and a generous size of honeycomb drizzling with honey. The honeycomb hardened as time went on, naturally, so eat it quickly if you don't want to end up with a hard piece of honey. The ice cream itself tasted just like milk, and nothing else. I wished that the taste was a bit stronger, but Ken liked it the way it is, and actually really loved the ice cream. For people who don't like too sweet things, this is for you! I nevertheless enjoyed it as well, with the honey and cereal. The honeycomb melted on my tongue easily and was left with no residue unlike Korea's Softree, where some bits of the honeycomb was harder to melt than other bits. This ice cream isn't your generic Ben and Jerry's because it is much less sweeter. It's suppose to taste like milk! With whichever toppings you choose, the ice cream can get sweeter or richer. The choice is up to you. Is it worth coming back? Not sure, there is a dilemma on this one. Because it is overpriced, some may not come back. I would personally come back because of the flavours they offer, but that is pretty much it. read more

This place is good!!!! I was only home in Vancouver for around 10 days but I literally came here 5 times. That's 5 out of 10 days!!! I tried the Himalayan Sea Salt with Caramel, got the Matcha three times, and tried the honeycomb. The Matcha was a standout for me because they use a great blend of matcha and red bean and it was the prettiest one to take pictures of 'cause of all the colors. Not sure what's up with all the lackluster ratings. Sure, it's a little pricey but it's Gastown for crying out loud and the soft serve is pretty quality. Go to McDonald's if you want regular, boring soft serve that's too sweet for your own good. read more

In short, pricey but worth it. Went into soft peak randomly while my friend and I were wondering around Gastown. The soft served ice cream itself is not too sweet, but very milky. Making it a very good base to add some toppings on it. I really wanted a shot of espresso on it (the Blackcomb) , but also wanted chocolate (the Mudslide). They ended up mixing the two (coffee + timtam and chocolate syrup) for us to share :D Very friendly customer service as well. Just seriously pricey as well :P I will be back when I feel like treating myself while I am traveling to Vancouver again :) read more

Pricey and not completely worth it. The currency exchange made a small honeycomb peak, small blue mountain peak, and the original milkshake around $13 instead of $18, but it's still expensive for what you're getting. The flavor of the original is definitely not like other soft serves (more milky), but tastes great once you acquire that flavor. They don't offer samples either which was disappointing because I'd like to know whether or not I like a flavor before I dish out $6 for it. Overall glad to have crossed this place off the list but not sure I'd come back! My boyfriend would like to add saying its like a McDonald's soft serve ice cream with cereal for 5x the price. read more

Neat little ice cream place in gas town which offers organic milk soft serve ice cream. They have 2 flavours - vanilla (they don't use vanilla flavor in these) and chocolate. Then you pick your syrup/flavour and toppings. Each flavor and topping costs approx. $0.75. They also have preset items for those less adventurous. You can also ask for shakes instead of ice cream if you prefer that. We tried the mudslide, honeycomb and rocky mountain side serve ice creams. Overall they were average. Good to try once but not something I would do on a regular basis. read more
Okay so the rating is only because of how the guys behind the counter dealt with a couple problems that happened to my order and the one before me (AND YELP NEEDS A 0.5 OPTION!!). A girl in front of me got the wrong kind of syrup but instead of taking it back they gave it to her for free and then made her the right one as well. For me, I got the wrong size and they told me they'd also make me the right size to go with the free small. I thought that was really nice service plus the way it was handled was cool, calm and collected even with a non stop line out the door. The soft serve itself is delicious BUT for $5 + for a tiny cup that really should be called and extra small instead of just a small is a massive rip off. An extra dollar for a regular size is also a pretty big joke...I mean these ice cream places really know how to bank off of how crazy Vancouverites are for this milky goodness. That being said, it's some quality soft serve that tastes a lot better when you ignore how much you just paid for it. If you're okay with the crazy high prices of this place then try it because the product really is nice to the taste buds but if you're looking for value then ignore it because there's no way the miniature sizes are worth what you're paying. The soft served here has a really rich milk taste and is very smooth. It's also very creamy and you can get it with whatever toppings. A nice place to hangout with friends while getting soft served ice cream. The place is very cute too. read more
