While it is pretty dark and narrow in there, the drink selection was pretty solid and the servers/tenders were laid back.

Soggy's is basically THE place to be downtown. It's a very positive and welcoming place. Every time I've went I've been impressed. The staff is great and the crowd is usually college age, but also older folks in their 40s. You'll meet anyone from a Catholic priest to a woman in her 90's! read more

So amid covid they posted they were going to reopen. I think awesome hopefully this local establishment survives. I've been here like the food. Drinks are okay. Maybe I'll even order some food to help. On the post it started you had to wear a mask. You have to do that everywhere. But I was curious how this would work. Such as how to eat or drink with a mask. The response from them was to wear the mask in until you get to your table. I thought okay but the place is small and you can't walk the aisles without being within 6 ft. But I left it alone. Another person gave a response likening it to going to the toilet and keeping your pants on until you get to the toilet. I thought okay but normally I don't walk by people with their junk hanging out. But then whomever was in control of the bars account replied with hand clapping emojis. So I'm essence I will never do back if this is how they treat people with genuine concerns during the pandemic. read more

As a bar owner myself when there is a huge event on my street that would probably make me the majority of money for the year, I would staff up. This is some of the best food I've had out of Flint. They used some of the freshest ingredients in the black bean nachos and the burgers were some of the best, most quality beef I've had in town. Definitely one of the best places to go in the Flint area. Soggy Bottom was one of the main places I frequented while attending UM-Flint, and I try to go whenever I'm in the area. They have great food and drinks (I highly recommend the black bean nachos), and it is such a fun place to hang out. I LOVE this bar. This is our after work hang out. I love the juke box, the dim decor, and the bartenders are pretty great as well. Soft Parade? Yes please! It's super cozy inside and I would actually hang out here by myself (not that I would, but if I did, I would totally come here) (ok, I probably would). Oh my, hands down the best burger in genesee county followed very closely by Krystal Jo's. My husband surprised me with a date here on a Friday evening with live Jazz. We ordered a burger, loaded fries, chicken fingers and Jalapeño Popper Egg Rolls. Oh my, the egg rolls were phenomenal!!!! The burger was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The chicken however isn't something i would order again. It was not seasoned and I was overall not fond of it. The rest of the food though was great! We can't wait to visit again soon to try more of the menu items and listen to some great, live music. read more

Great and inexpensive burgers at lunch time. The fries are really good too. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. So glad that they are part of the growing downtown restaurant scene. Just Go! This place has a great vibe, excellent drinks, great beer selection, and best of all the food. My wife and I started out with a couple Dark and Stormy drinks with the pulled pork nachos. The drinks were perfect, they didn't cheat on the rum, and the nachos with the house made chips were the best we have ever had. I mean, I don't normally get that excited about nachos, but these bad boys are amazing. Everything, from the fresh sliced jalapeño, the tasty pork, and the crunchy chips are top notch. We finished off our meal with two of their wonderful burgers. I had the blue cheese burger and my wife had the olive one. The meat is fresh and the buns perfect. We ordered one more round of drinks and these two seemed to be lighter on the rum . Maybe our first round had a bit extra?? The acoustics aren't the best and if you get a loud hackling laugher in the crowd, it can be a bit obnoxious (we did). But while you are eating your food, things seem to fade in the background, so our first visit to Soggy Bottom Bar was a winner! read more
