This is a nice spa for adults who don't mind paying $80-$100. I am someone who has gone to Korean spas in the past multiple of times such as Spa Castle, King Spa and New York Spa & Sauna. If I compare it to the other spas, I do think this spa has the best pools which are located on the 6th floor. They have shade and powerful water jets with individual lanes. I also like how they have cell phone lockers too. First off, when you arrive here the line is long. It was very busy on a Monday around 12pm! I don't understand why it takes an hr for us to check-in when we bought our admission tickets online. They immediately took customers who had massage appointments first. The valet parking was also backed up. Now the NJ transit bus 158 brings you here every 30 mins. But beware that it is not the same getting out of here. Check the bus schedule on the NJ transit app. This spa is huge! Gotta go up and down the stairs constantly from the saunas, to the pools and to the cafeteria. They have 2 elevators, but it's always busy. For the most part, customer service is good. The workers are polite. The food options were disappointing because they lacked wholesome foods. They did have salads and poke, but more than that I expected Korean dishes such as soups/stews, boiled eggs, and sweet Korean rice beverage. Ramen and fried foods such as french fries, burgers and pizza are not considered as ideal comfort foods for spa. I thought the swimsuit drying machine was cool. Besides that bring your own water bottle and facial masks. They only provide small paper cups, robes and towels. No disposable toothbrushes. In the women's locker room, they provide a few hair dryers, tissues and lotions. Make sure you come prepared! I am glad I visited this spa, but I'll be going back to my usual spa for its location and pricing purposes. read more

If you are a sauna and bath enthusiast, this is the place for you. Personally, I didn't think it was worth the price. Paid $100 for daily admission and if you get a massage/scrub here, expect your bill to be a minimum of $160+ pp (most likely higher). Yes, there are rules here and depending on who is on shift that day, they will nitpick at you. I didn't have any issues, but noticed that rules were laxer at the infinity pool than the pools on the 4th fl that day. They should have more showers available near the communal pools to encourage everyone to shower before they enter. Only the infinity pool on the 7th fl has two outdoor showers nearby (with one of them not working that day). On the 4th fl where the rest of the pools are, the staff told me I'd have to go back into the locker rooms to shower. The pools themselves need more maintenance and cleaning. The windows of the Hydrotherapy Pool had a transulcent build-up to it. My favorites were the Silk Bath and Ganbanyoku Sauna. We arrived over an hour late from our original time because our Uber got very lost, but they didn't give us any issues and let us in. I'd still recommend you to arrive at least 15 minutes early just because there are lines. The fitness center is an additional $5. If you want to use it, make sure to tell the staff so they will let you carry your shoes in. It is usually empty and clean. I wish the yoga studio had mirrors. A heaven for some. I could stay here the whole day or forever. I enjoyed the outdoor pool with Manhattan skyline view the most. Too bad that the rooftop was closed during the stay because of the thunderstorm forecast . The cabana lounge is a retreat. I felt I am in my own world when I was there. Lesser crowd during the stay. It is a 8 floor building spa services. There is a valet parking and free self-parking a block away. There is an elevator access for each floor but I would say staircase is a better way to explore. Free robe and towel while inside the premises. No shoes allowed, either put your socks on or be bare footed inside. Clean shower room, safe locker room and beautiful powder room. Bath essentials and lotions are included in the fee. Plenty of different sauna types to explore. Different temperature bath pool to enjoy. Various jet streams available in the indoor and outdoor pools which each pool has a beautiful backdrop, view or ambiance. A highly recommended place to go. I planned a day trip to Sojo for my mom's bday along with my sister. We planned too late to get a service so we had the day pass. We went on a Sunday and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful weather day, 65 and sunny in November! We paid $15 extra for valet. It was worth it to us as I didn't feel like doing the extra walk to park down the road. The service was wonderful from start to Finish. The place is impeccably clean and it's pretty organized for the amount of traffic they get. We pretty much spent the day in the hot tubs, sauna and steam room. We even tried the cold plunge which was refreshing . The outside are was really pretty too! Beautiful views of Manhattan however there's a dry weird patch of land in the foreground which is hard to Avoid when trying to take picture. We had lunch at Sojo, everything was tasty but pricey. I would visit again but only for a special occasion and I would book a service because you can spend only so much time from pool to pool. We didn't visit the hot stone beds on the 5th floor which I wish I would have. The pool outside with the city view was beautiful and perfect. It was crowded but not overly. I sent a email to the manager stating that their staff refused to give three RNs the $10 credit that is stated on their site. And that the staff asked my friend for a picture of her in her scrubs, proving she was a doctor in the end they gave us a goodwill credit for $10 instead of 40. The gentleman when I left told me to shush multiple times because I asked him if I could get my wallet where you place the shoes I got reprimanded and shushed again. Sojo, can be improved in every way!! This is my 2nd time coming to this spa. The 1st time I thought it was extreme with all the rules as if Im entering Forte Knox (to may damn rules for the working class)!! My 2nd time coming and just so happen that I had a drink and came in the establishment with it. The drink was orange and could have been orange juice. When I was asked (invasion of my privacy) what I was drinking, I said I had a shot of tequila, still not knowing what was in my cup, again it was orange. I was honest about what I consumed. I was then informed that I had to wait 2hrs (assuming) to purchase any alcohol or whatever, my response was "I won't be purchasing anything" The lady that went thrgh my bavk at around 11:40 was precise. Come to find out I couldn't enter for 2hrs after speaking to Aliyah. After having a dialog woth Aliyah and explaining to her that I only had a shot and I dosmt have to inform what was in cup, she proceeded to say the cup that I had discarded was taken out of the garbage and she knew what I had?oh really). Thereafter, was told I wa bale to enter the establishment within an 1hr. Now I checked in at 11:30am, a convo was had with Aliyah at 11:45. Me assuming I was able to enter at the hour mark I entered which was 11:30am and enter at 12:30pm. I was done near chased down and was told I couldn't enter until 12:45(extreme). Now what pissed me off even more there was another patron that was caught with edibles and all she had to do was put in her car b4 she entered. Not one time did they ask of she consumed any. One thing for certain we dont know who consumes what ans Im quite sure folks patronize Sojo sober and under the influence! Experienced this on March 26, 2026. Not my type of relaxing spa experience. More of a crowded public camp feel, take a number, stay in line, follow the many rules that go against a positive flow, such as, no outside water, no shoes (socks ok and highly suggested), check in at front desk, in locker room, each person check out with wristband. On a Thurs pm it was so crowded tough to find a space for 2 in the pools, hot tubs, saunas, etc., felt like I'd catch a virus. The foot massage was cookie cutter, no discussion, sit in a row of seats and brutal. Three times I had to ask the person to stop being so rough and she acted surprised each time. Tip is included in price, which you can adjust at check out. The staff were pleasant and nice, constantly asking people to follow the many rules. One person walked around with a quiet sign. SoJo Spa is a solid 4, but there are some requirements needed to get that level of experience. First, go on a weekday. Considering how crowded it eventually got on a random Wednesday, I shudder to think of how insane it must get on holidays and weekends. And secondly, get there early. Like, get there when it first opens at 9AM since there is a distinct uptick in the number of guests after 12PM. I got there right when it opened, and it was absolutely magical. The pools were empty, it was quiet, and it was so relaxing. Seriously, go early. Although this is a Korean spa, it is very much catered to a wider clientele that is not used to going to a jjimjilbang. Like, no one was nude in the indoor baths which was a first for me. So if having to get naked to bathe isn't your thing and has kept you away from other Korean bathhouses, SoJo is a good option. Also, if you are like me and getting to SoJo by public transportation from NYC, let me give you a rundown that I wished someone had given me. Download the NJ Transit app, and buy an "Interstate 3 zone" bus ticket (route 158), and it should be $4.50. Now that you have that on your phone, grab the subway to the Port Authority Bus Terminal by Times Square, and aim to be there no later than 8:15AM. Head over to gate 202 (double check the gate signs), and stand on line. The bus leaves every 30 minutes, and it was pretty crowded for the 8:30AM departure, but most everyone gets off at the first stop. GPS will tell you to get off at "River Rd at Vreeland Terrace," but crossing the street is extremely treacherous. Cars are speeding down the road in both directions, and there is no crosswalk. Get off at "River Rd at Archer St" in front of Mitsuwa instead. Cross the street there, and then walk over to SoJo. For the return, I took the NY Waterway Ferry from the Edgewater Ferry Landing (1 mile from SoJo so walk, bus or Uber) to 39th St, and with the free shuttle buses once you get back to NYC, it made getting home really easy. All in all, will definitely go again, and would like to go during different seasons too :) read more

This is my third time at SOJO and in my previous two visits I had a wonderful time. While my visit yesterday was also great, there is one outside factor that made my experience less pleasant. For some reason, the city has decided to turn this huge Superfund lot across the street from SOJO into a rock crushing site which has turned the area into a noisy and dusty place. As a result, enjoying the city view from the infinity pool is no longer possible due to the annoying/loud noise from the rock crusher. Plus, I don't think that the dust that is coming from all the activities in that lot is healthy. What a shame destroying such a nice place and turning it into a hazardous construction area. Well I have never been in so many types of saunas in my life and wow what a treat ! I throughly enjoyed my experience. From different pools infused with carbon dioxide bubbles to hot tubs cold pools private gender saunas cool plunges then you can opt for massages or scrubs. Then head to their indoor outdoor eating space for sustenance after your day of luxury. I haven't gone to this type of spa in years and the last one I've been to was in Queens. I didn't quite know what to expect, but it blew my expectations away. It is best to reserve in advance. You can book spa and scrub appointments when you arrive. However, I don't know if you will get first dibs. Anyways, what I liked is that no one is showing their birthday suit in their respective locker rooms unless you want to show it. I definitely didn't feel pressure to do that. Everyone is given robes to put over their attire like bathing suit or whatever. You can get fresh towels whenever you want. First when you enter there is an area to put your shoes into a locker room. You walk barefoot everywhere and go to the next locker room where you change. Ppl wear socks and slippers, but I don't suggest it. The staff clean everywhere and pick up everything so there's no dust or hair on the floor. I really liked some of the sauna areas and the outdoor pool areas like the infinity pools (2 of these). There's also a place to eat food. Mainly korean food, just so you're aware. Everything is a bit over priced like the entrance fee is $100 on the weekends and $80 for weekdays. All in all I would probably return one more time, but when it gets warmer perhaps to fully enjoy the outdoor pool area. read more

Overall, I had a fabulous time at SoJo Spa Club. Since there is a lot to talk about, I will break down this review as a list of pros and cons. Pros: + The facility is very well-maintained. During our visit (4-5 hrs), we constantly saw staff members cleaning, mopping, and restocking items. With the exception of going through the first "checkpoint", the facility is pretty much shoe-free. + There is a huge variety of relaxing amenities - multiple thermal baths, wet and dry saunas, relaxation rooms, massage packages, etc. + Speaking of massages, Mayti (sp?) and Sophie were great masseuses. + Beautiful views of the NYC and NJ skylines. +Very convenient if you are traveling from NYC. You pretty much can take the 158 bus from Port Authority, and the bus will drop you off in front of the spa. I believe the commute was about 20 - 30 minutes. After reading reviews about the valet service, I'm glad that we went with the bus option. Cons: - I think this was a con because it was our first visit, but there seems to be a lot of rules and regulations - which is not necessarily a bad thing. At some points, I felt like I was going through a TSA line before boarding a flight. I would recommend reading the rules and regulations before making your reservation and arriving to Sojo. -The spa has a lot to offer, but the layout is a bit confusing. While the spa does have an app that contains a map, you cannot use your phone (understandably) in many parts of the spa. I think it would be extremely helpful to have more diagrams/maps on the walls throughout the facility. - For some of the outdoor amenities, I wish there was a bit more crowd control. This is my second time coming to Sojo Spa, but first time coming on a weekend. I came with two other friends and we all got massage services. The rating is an average of spa and their valet service. The spas, pools, and massage were great. They don't allow you to wear sandals/flip flops indoors, BUT the staff does an amazing job with keeping the floors dry and clean. The place was very full with other patrons but there's so many things to do that it doesn't feel too crowded. I loved how outside the hot saunas there are a bunch of small lockers to keep your phones. Our only issue was with valet parking. Not sure what the hold up was, but we ended up waiting OVER 45 min for our car. It was to the point we noticed people who came AFTER us started getting their cars first. We asked the valet what was taking so long, and they said verbatim, "we don't go in order of who gave their cards first, we start with the car closest to exit" - so if you come in early and your car was parked furthest away good luck getting your car. If possible, avoid coming on weekends to avoid the valet mess. read more

Unique and pleasant experience. Very clean, very organized and very well maintained. Definitely a great place to come alone or with friends. Price is worth it, since you get so much for what you pay. Then hrs later when I'm already back home after paying tolls going both ways for no reason, tells me to come back because they saw their mistake and want to honor it but guess what, there was only an hr left before they closed. Came back again to redeem the Valentine's Day package Sojo had earlier this year and was pleased to see how they pivoted to accommodate for cooler weather. They had insulated tunnels leading to the outdoor amenities so you don't have to deal with the cold for too long. We did run into some strange policies however. My partner and I were in a corner of the Silk Bath taking photos of each other and an attendant came over from inside to tell us that we were only allowed to take three photos at a time. This was confusing because there wasn't anyone close to us and we weren't being loud by any means. I also saw other groups openly taking photos of each other (one being a particularly loud bachelorette party), so this didn't seem like a policy that was consistently enforced or outlined anywhere. read more

Always had positive experiences the two times I've been here! The staff does a great job of keeping everything clean and they're very friendly. However, I do wish that they'd be just as strict about phones in the changing rooms & baths as they are about being quiet in the saunas/regulating how busy it can be. We dealt with a ton of rude people in the saunas who were very loud and kept talking obnoxiously. Then there were people who would overcrowded and be close in the changing rooms which makes it very uncomfortable for everyone else. I would still love to come back and enjoy another day here. If you're looking for luxury, this is not it! This felt like I was checking in at JFK airport with nonstop security checkpoints. From the beginning a bouncer/security checked our bags (are we going into a dance club) to then being watched while putting our shoes away. The locker rooms don't have added supplies like deodorant, cotton swabs etc so bring your own. Nothing felt luxurious at all. The pools felt like I was at a BBQ/Pool Party. Isn't this establishment Korean? I did not see a single Korean person working there. If you want to experience true luxury- go to the Mandarin Oriental or The Peninsula Hotel. Cool, but overrated. I say this because I wasn't wowed. If I go to a spa, I prefer more of an intimate setting and not overcrowded. It definitely has a "club-like" atmosphere. There are cool spa amenities and rooms which I liked a lot( pools, salt room, sauna, some sort of heat room & cold room -yikes!). So many people (at peak times), different areas/floors, no shoes required which can be unsanitary. I think they should require socks at minimum and water shoes in pool areas. Otherwise, it's barefoot or socks. I actually purchased a package including a massage. It was okay. The "views" are what people like or the design of pool overlooking a view, but there wasn't much to see?? It's in a "development" location so there were construction trucks. The Food Hall has many delicious options. I got the Sweet Chili Shrimp Bowl and it was so good! The chocolate chip cookie was also baked perfectly if you're in the mood for something sweet, I'd recommend it! The only thing I'd really say I feel like the robes have lost quality and the towels have gotten a lot smaller and thinner. SoJo is one of those places you just have to visit. They have so many amenities so it's hard not to find something that will suit everyone. The place is incredibly clean and the views from the infinity pool are amazing. My friends and I went on a Saturday in January and it was packed. Both of their lots were filled up by 11 am, so I definitely recommend getting there early. They do a good job at keeping the "outdoor" walkways warm, but I can't even imagine how busy it could get during the normal season. Be sure to check their website for deals: my friends and I were able to get free admission on the day we went and that's also where we learned a lot of the etiquette they ask for. We went to try all the saunas and pools. There were so many benefits and you get to read up on it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility is quite clean and people are always cleaning and restocking towels and robes. I felt so relaxed here especially in the heated pools!!! Sojo spa is just not worth the trip from nyc. Especially if you don't drive. It was way smaller then I expected and not as luxurious as they make it seem online. They definitely need way more water stations especially in the locker room. Nearly passed out. But the water stations is in a different floor. I love the concept of this spa. It incorporates a more boujee style korean bath house where of course everyone goes here to become an instagram influencer. I suggest going on a regular weekday because the weekend is not worth it. Weekdays are cheaper and the weekends are of course more lit, so be prepared to have some patience everywhere you go because you will bump into someone's auntie who is moving at a very slow pace around this place. First off, don't do valet and go a block down and park there -- it's worth it. Valet is very slow when it comes to getting your car back. Dudes will be standing around just chilling and dead look at you in your eyes but will not help you. Second, please make sure to get a reservation. It's much better this was because it guarantees you a spot. Come earlier if you want but just don't come late. Next, the infinity pool is smaller than expected. we stayed here for half an hour and got instantly bored. Unless you wanna catch rays, the only other thing to do is capture a view in the pool for the gram. But I do suggest going to the other jacuzzi areas like the silk pool or the carbonated pool-- very relaxing. We had found ourselves in love with the hydrotherapy pool. But it was so crowded where we had danced with luck and had gotten a spot to relax but I think it was worth it. The baths are amazinggg. I love the hot bath with the little bubbles. What makes it even better is there are the wet and dry saunas in the same room so that you can sweat and jump right into the cold bath. Felt amazing afterwards We had tried all the suanas and the quiet rooms. I had found myself to enjoy the one with the Himalayan salt room and then hopping into the ice room. Everything was surprising super clean and did not make me regret walking barefoot all over Honestly, Sojo won't be something i'll do often but when I want to treat myself I would considering going on a random day. It just stinks how there's just too many people in one spot that at times you can't really enjoy yourself. Beautiful space, but I have to be honest that this is not a relaxing space, it felt like a spa party. My best friend and I visited Sojo Spa Club during the memorial holiday weekend in celebration of her birthday. We'd been planning to come for awhile however, passes seem to be hard to come by. Fortunately, I was able to purchase a pass for myself and a massage reservation for my bestie, about 3 weeks prior with no issues. Upon arriving, we drove to the entrance where we asked the valet where parking was. He told us there was valet parking or drive shortly up the block to their complimentary self-parking lot. Never a mention that complimentary valet parking is available if you booked a service. I'll admit, it says it on our reservation however, it would've been nice if he had asked whether we had a reservation. Not a big deal. The self-parking is half a block away. We were greeted at the entrance and directed to check-in. There was some confusion with our check-in but it was easily cleared up. You begin your journey locking up your shoes in a locker room on the main floor. Upon locking the locker, you'll receive a key attached to a wristband that also works in the locker rooms on the upper floor. We made our way up to the 4th floor main locker room, where everyone seemed to be. There are separate rooms for men and women. The women's locker room has a place to purchase items like shower caps, swimsuits, etc. There is also a place to gather your robe and towels, as well as a place to fresh up with lotion, hair dryers, and mirrors. From the locker room, you can easily access their indoor/outdoor baths, sauna, showers, and scrub treatments. Pros: - The views are stunning, especially on a sunny day. - The facilities seemed, clean, modern, and beautiful - Lots of space to lounge around and take a nap. Also cabana's available for groups. - Staff are attentive - Great variety of saunas available. - I loved the indoor women's bath. It was probably the most serene space with the right temperature of water. - If you're a nudist, you are allowed to walk around in the indoor spaces freely. - Although we did not partake, there is a cafe that serves a light fare of food and snacks. - Easy check-out process and 18% tip was automatically included for the massage. Cons: - There are 3 changing "stations" and all of them were occupied for long periods of time. I eventually went into one of the bathroom stalls to change otherwise, you'll have to change in the open space around everyone. That's a bit uncomfortable to me but I digress. - This is not so much a big negative, but an annoyance. The facility is serious about protecting your privacy and making you feel comfortable to change or walk around naked within the indoor areas. At one point, I was in the indoor bath area close to the exit and looking at their map on my phone, obviously trying to figure out where I was. This was a map that the staff recommended I use while in the facility. A staff member came over to me and immediately told me to put my phone away. I said clearly, "I'm using the map. I'm lost and trying to figure out where to go". My phone also was lit with the map on the screen and I offered for her to see. She didn't listen and continued to say, "no phones". I replied, "well how am I supposed to know where I'm going?". She ignored my comment and again said, "no phones, they're not allowed in this area for privacy. You have to put it away". I understand her concern as it pertains to their policies and by no means was I trying to violate any one in there, but she could have addressed the situation better. Perhaps asking me where I'd like to go or offering suggestions. I ended up walking back into the locker room to look at my map with no issues and walked back out, right past her. - It is overcrowded in every bath or pool. So much so, that you will have to come back numerous times to find a space. Once you've found a space, it'll become crowded again. Due to the crowding, we never got a chance to try a few of the baths. Granted we came during a holiday weekend, but given similar reviews, it seems that this is a regular thing. Having to walk around trying to find a space almost everywhere, is not quite relaxing in my opinion. - The infinity pool felt like a hotel pool party. Very crowded. Folks were taking photos with their selfie sticks, taking turns posing at the edge of the pool, couples being overly affectionate, and others talking loudly. Only thing missing was a speaker and music. - The foot massage path is in no way comfortable. - Finally, you are required to walk throughout the establishment without shoes. It feels gross when you are in the wet areas. Disposable flip flops like those in the nail shops or even flip flops that can be sanitized would be greatly appreciated. Overall, a fair experience. I won't be returning but it's worth at least one visit. read more
