Great amenities, but atrocious customer service and billing management. I booked an 80-minute couples CBD aromatherapy massage with hot stones for my sister and me over Memorial Day weekend. This place came highly recommended, but when we showed up, their systems were completely down. No one called us beforehand because they had no access to their system. To their credit, the front desk team was kind and allowed us free access to the spa facilities for two hours to check out the saunas, steam room, and snow room. We made the best of it and had a good time bopping around. However, their customer service recovery is nonexistent. It has been over a week since that visit and they are still holding onto my $700. Every time I call, I am routed to a call center agent who doesn't understand the situation and has no power to help me. Two emails to their billing center have gone completely unanswered. Keeping a customer's money for services you couldn't render due to your own tech failure is unacceptable. Since nobody there seems to know how to run the business or process a refund manually, I am moving forward with a bank dispute to reclaim my money. If you go here, pray their system doesn't crash, because you will never see your money again. UPDATE: Unbelievable. After blasting them on here, a manager named Claudia called me. But instead of taking responsibility, she tried to gaslit me by claiming I was being "combative" because I am frustrated. Let's get the facts straight: your business took my $700, failed to provide the services, ghosted me for a week, and now I'm the combative one for wanting my money back? She literally called me to play reindeer games, asking me to explain "what happened when I arrived." Girl, get out of here with that. You work there, you know your own systems were down. It is completely crazy to interrogate a customer about a tech failure your own business suffered. When I refused to let her talk over me or railroad the call, she tried to act like she was the one refusing to have a "combative conversation." It's pathetic corporate deflection. She finally said she would process the refund today because I wouldn't back down, but dealing with this level of unprofessionalism just to get a refund for services never rendered is ridiculous. Came here for a friend's bday this January and we had a really good time. My favorite was the Himalayas salt room and the hot sauna show. If it's your first time coming, remember to bring your ID. They will create an account for you and take your picture prior to admission. The hours are measured by the time you enter the spa entrance using your bracelet and the time you exit and return the bracelet. I have to take away 2 stars because the floor and water in the pools are dirty. It's a mix of those who walked barefoot on the floor and those who walk with their outdoor slippers, and all those dirts are also brought into the pools that you can visually see. I wanted to love it more, but my experience was pretty average. MAKE SURE TO BRING A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE!! I was shocked that they didn't have water coolers around, only water fountains with paper cone cups. You can easily become dehydrated if you aren't careful. They only have wet and dry saunas, a cold pool and an indoor area. The one "relaxation salt room" was small and was always packed. I wish there were more seats to relax outside of the saunas. There were some in the pool but people threw their towels down and never actually sat there. My group attended the complimentary class at 1pm which was in the event sauna and was an aromatherapy session. The 10 minute session was intense and not for beginners. I liked the lavender scent the best. The pools were clean, although many of the jets in the hot tubs didn't work. They do have lifeguards on duty. They give you a wristband at the entrance that links your credit card. The restaurant was pricey but needed within our 4 hour session since you can't bring outdoor food. I didn't like that they don't serve tap water, essentially forcing you to buy a $7 bottle of sparkling/still water. When I checked out at the end, it was unclear how my meal was $8 more than it should have been since I didn't get a receipt or any explanation on the self checkout screen (I'm assuming tip was included). Overall, I think there are better spas in the city and I won't be returning! read more

World Spa is one of my favs spas in NYC, it is definitely worth the trip into Mapleton, BK. I've visited World Spa about 5 times throughout the years and the saunas, pools and locker rooms are always spotless. The staff is courteous and helpful, Carol at reception made my latest visit extra special. I love the variety of sauna rooms, the aromatherapy and hammam saunas are my favs. I've tried a few cocktails and entrees from their restaurant and all have been delicious. $120 for an admission pass seems a bit excessive, especially since they have limited facilities (namely pools). It's not bad if you go when it isn't crowded, which was the case for me as I booked for a Tuesday afternoon. They only have 1 pool (hydrotherapy) and it's not very big, although the website lists 4 pools. The others are even smaller and is a jacuzzi, a cold plunge pool, and "vitality pool". They have about 6 saunas which were pretty good. I loved the Moroccan and Turkish steam rooms the best. They also have 2 other specialty rooms. I booked the "Couple Pure Relaxation Massage 50 min" which cost $175 per person but it included admission, so that was a good deal! (They had a special running where if you booked a massage, your admission was free, otherwise, the price wouldn't have been worth it). The massage was pretty good although I didn't fall asleep as I usually do during a good massage. Food/drinks: the food was just okay and the portions were very small, especially the calamari. The drinks were much better. The lychee martini and lychee spritz were my favorite. Compared to sojo?? This only tops because Sojo doesn't serve alcohol and is all the way in jersey. read more

I've been wanting to go here forever. I finally got here and got to use my year old GC. World Spa is beautiful, everything from the wood finishes to the stone detailing feels high-quality and luxurious. The layout is modern and clean, and the saunas are truly the standout. The Turkish and Moroccan rooms were my favorites: gorgeous, love the humidity, and incredibly relaxing. Realllyyy loved those 2. It's impossible to go here and not compare it to Sojo spa. They are the same price for entry and are about equidistant from my apartment in Queens. Unfortunately for World Spa, Sojo Spa tops them almost everywhere. I think I like World Spas saunas better than Sojo though. The space overall is smaller than I expected for the price point, especially compared to other spas on the same tier. The layout is a little funky with the restaurant being the main focal point of the floor that has all amenities. No pools or sauna off the locker room. The pool and hot tub selection is pretty limited compared to any similar spa and the food was a miss for me. My avocado smoothie was small and absolutely tasteless and my poke bowl had good tuna, but everything else was weird. Especially the fake guac when I was expecting sliced avocado. One thing that I've taken for granted at other spas is SOMEWHERE quiet, somewhere you can read a book, write, etc. There was no space here and that's part of unwinding for me. The space is just too small for what it wants to be. They also charge $15 for parking when it's free at Sojo, making a weekday entrance here more expensive if you drive. I could see coming back here if I lived closer, or if entry was significantly cheaper, but as it is..I'll just go to Sojo or try the basic spa near me in flushing that costs $40. read more

A lot of money was invested into a modern, sleek, beautiful design of this brand new facility. It is pleasant to walk the floors and feel like you are in an upscale European facility. The owner is Eastern European, so he did his best and went all out with ordering materials, Décor, and all the facilities from Europe. you don't feel bad about spending over 100 bucks on a spa experience in a brand new space. Upon entrance, you pay the admission fee of $100 for a full day admission, no time limit, if you're visiting on a weekday. Weekends are more expensive. Then you also get a digital wristband that acts as a wallet. You can order additional spa services and food and drinks: all of the chargers will be on your bracelet. When you're leaving the facility, a staff member scans your bracelet and checks you out. Bring your own slippers. Bathing suits and slippers are available for rent as well. The spa gets crowded on the weekend so I would highly recommend going on a weekday. Several different saunas are available on premises, as well as Jacuzzis, cold plunge, and a large swimming pool. Good variety of options. You can easily spend the whole day here. Be aware that it gets more crowded towards the evening. Every hour, trained staff do free entertainment demonstrations in saunas to showcase, traditional Russian banya techniques. You can book those additional treatments and services afterwards as well. The one thing that was very inconvenient and for which I take off stars is that there are only three showers available in the women's locker room. A big line forms for anyone who wants to shower before leaving the facility. I was in a rush, so after waiting for a while, I just couldn't bear it anymore, so I left. That was a crummy end to my experience. When you're paying that much money for SPA Admission, you need to get free access to basic facilities like shower, without waiting for an hour. read more

The facilities were very clean and well maintained. I really liked the Moroccan and Turkish hammams (steam rooms) since they were ornate and had an intense steam. The dry saunas and snow room were great as well. The cons - I appreciated the robe but people kept grabbing the wrong robe so I wouldn't put anything valuable in them in case someone takes your robe. Disappointed is an understatement. I haven't even stepped foot into the spa yet, and this experience has already been extremely frustrating. I had a massage scheduled, but I woke up feeling very sick and called to reschedule. I was told that because it was within their 48-hour policy window, I would either have to pay a rescheduling fee or still come in for the appointment. I explained multiple times that I was sick and trying to avoid exposing others, but there seemed to be no consideration or flexibility for that situation. I was advised to send an email, but since my appointment was the same day, I asked to speak with a manager and was told they would have to call me back but that didn't make a difference. It's disappointing that there doesn't appear to be a reasonable policy in place for clients who are genuinely ill and trying to be considerate of staff and other guests. Went on a Friday. We enjoyed the massage and the facility. The staff does a great job of keeping the place clean. Everyone is very pleasant. For lunch I ordered the mixed seafood appetizer and it consisted of 12 oysters, 12 jump shrimp cocktail and salmon sashimi in ponzu. my friend got a salad with salmon and some dumplings. She liked the salad but the dumplings were meh. We got yummy mocktails. I also got a bottle of water. Next time i would definitely bring my own water bottle! The locker room was clean. I had to wait a little bit for the shower, but it wasn't too bad. Over all it was a very relaxing, lovely day. I would probably come back in the winter. The good: they have valet parking for $15, it's co-ed pools and saunas (most Korean places are single sex hot tubs), this is a Eastern European spa so they offer yummy foods like Borscht! (Oh boy was it delicious, but small portion sizes) I was still hungry after eating that and a salad. Also appreciate the wide variety of saunas and hot tubs. Did a spa massage treatment and it was divine. Although my friend did the same treatment and she wasn't a fan of her masseuse. My masseuse used a worm pillow around my neck and a warm eye cover when massaging, and hers did not so very inconsistent. I liked in the main sauna at the hour. They had a so-called show where one of the guys came in and was spraying water and made the room really hot and then was taking volunteers to smack them with oak leaves. It was nice that people were encouraging sauna goers to take the cold plunge, it's very healthy and their cold plunge is very cold. The bad: first I hate that they allow people to bring their shoes from outside, I think in a year or so this place will become really grimy because of that. Also not making people shower before getting into the hot tub, needless to say there is lots of chlorine in the hot tubs and pools. But they have lots of showers through the place. This place is very pricey, and we thought that we would be able to get entrance when we did a massage but they only give you one hour of entry into the hot tubs and sauna's with your massage and then you can pay for additional hours at $25 an hour or you can purchase the day pass. Typically at day spas. They also provide you with slippers, which this place doesn't they do provide you with a bathrobe and unlimited towels. I like the places that provide you with toothbrushes and toothpaste too. Overall, I had a great experience although it's pricey I would go back again, but I'm not sure in a year if he'll still be as new and clean as now also my friend said she went last Valentine's Day and it was packed so definitely go on an off weekend or during the week early in the morning when there's not a lot of people around. After you're checked in, you'll be given your own wristband and locker with a bathrobe inside. This place is very fancy and super clean and even has a restaurant that serves mostly Eastern European and Mediterranean food. They do not have a rooftop pool or any outdoor areas. This is the main drawback of this place. However, they have everything else, with a large variety of high temperature rooms. There are dry saunas, wet saunas, a banya, and my personal favorites - the Turkish and Moroccan hammams with beautiful tiled walls and floors. The pool area is huge with a Japanese onsen section and several pools, including some with jacuzzis. It is not just hot water though., They have cold plunge pools and even an ice room. While I prefer Sojo Spa and Spa Castle, if you are already know this place has no outdoor areas, this place is comparable in quality to those ones. read more

I came here to celebrate my cousin's 18th birthday! This was her very first spa experience and she absolutely loved it. As soon as you walk in it smells so good. The check in process took a bit but the staff was really helpful and moved the line along. There's a robe in each locker, which is rather spacious. There are various saunas, steam rooms, Himalayan salt room with relaxing lounge chairs, ice room, cold plunge, hot tubs and pools. Anything you need within a few steps away. I've made my way back to World Spa to give it another try. I came on a Saturday afternoon. I was able to be checked in right away with issue. The facilities were clean. They provided robe and towels but you need to bring your own slippers or buy a pair. 4 hour limit on the weekends and holidays. There is also the option to go barefoot but I would not recommend it since people are bringing their slippers from outside. No telling where those have been. The spa was a lot calmer. I did not have to wait to get into the rooms. The saunas and steam rooms were actually hot, really hot. However, it still was not peaceful. Lots of talking at full volume in the rooms. There was still a gong to alert everyone to a show in addition to later in the afternoon they started playing pop music through the speakers which was very confusing. I made a reservation last night at 6pm. I called today at 1:20pm to change my card. The receptionist asked why am I changing my card? I explained I'd prefer to use the alternate. She then said she'd cancel and rebook with my new card. I said fine. She then continued to hesitate. Julie put me on hold three times for a simple transaction. I asked to speak to a manager she refused. I then felt uncomfortable and said I no longer want the service. She changed her story to then say my card was already charged. Meanwhile their policy states customers have 48 hours to cancel. When I threatened to sue which I plan to do if my card is charged, suddenly the rule changed and Julie said she was cancelling my reservation immediately. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience trying to book at World Spa--and I didn't even make it through the reservation process. After three separate phone calls, I was still unable to book an appointment. The receptionist, Anna, seemed completely unknowledgeable and unable to handle a simple request: my daughter and I wanted massages in separate rooms. Instead of providing a clear answer, she put me on hold for over 30 minutes while supposedly trying to reach a supervisor. Eventually, she came back saying she couldn't get approval but would call me back shortly. That call never came. After waiting an hour, I called again, only to be left on hold for another 15 minutes before being sent to a voicemail message saying they were too busy to take my call--and then the line disconnected. For a service that costs around $1,000 for two people, I expect far better customer service. This was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. On top of that, the website is difficult to navigate and makes it unnecessarily hard to even find a phone number. It honestly feels like they don't want to take calls at all. I've since noticed other reviews describing similar issues, which makes this even more concerning. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend even attempting to book here. Unfortunately World Spa is a wanna be Sojo spa, and misses the mark in almost every way. I came here for my birthday to have a relaxing weekday spa experience, and instead was met with the opposite. I've seen this spa on Instagram through a handful of influencers, and that should have been my first red flag that this wouldn't be a relaxing experience. First the robe that was left for me to use smelled like BO. Then when I got to the sauna floor I realized that's where everything lives: dining, pool, massages, etc. The center is for dining and the stairwell, and the outside is a fishbowl of saunas with glass doors to see into them. The glass doors do a terrible job at blocking out the sound, so while I was listening to the music within the sauna I was also unfortunately listening to the main floor music. Although every sauna is marked with "quiet zone" and "no cell phone", almost every sauna I went into people were chatting and on their phones. All of these factors made it impossible to actually relax. Something they do a good job of is making sure everything is clean, bathrooms included. Also for the 20% of saunas that were not in high foot trafficked areas, they were very nice. For that I will give them 3 stars because those two things are important to me. Unless you live in the area, this spa is absolutely not worth the trek. read more

I was impressed by the unique rooms they had like the Ice Room, and a Moroccon inspired sauna. There was one room which was such a good lounge space for people to relax. They even had a complimentary show for 15 min in the Event Sauna Room where they splashed cold water on the rocks to heat up the room. How it started - I got a text from my friend randomly asking if I wanted to play hooky from work to come with her to World Spa to kick-off her birthday weekend, and I was like well well! That's a no brainer! She booked us for a 10AM entry with no additional services, since I wanted to experience everything fully for my very 1st visit. She had already come here on more than one occasion, and was okay with just enjoying the banyas, pools, saunas, and the dining onsite. Checking in wasn't an issue, and we were helped with right away. We were very lucky to have found street parking, so that alone saved us some money instead of using the valet. The check-in process took all of maybe 10 minutes, and we were given our lockers, wristbands, and explained each of the floors. The locker rooms for the women was very clean, and can understand that coming here on the weekend or during spring break could be questionable. The showers, toilets, and sinks were immaculately clean. The lockers had enough space for our stuff, and I did forget to bring a hairbrush for after I showered and washed my hair, so come prepared. My gal pal warned me about bringing slippers and a bathing suit. We did it all! The cold plunge, the hay and clay sauna, the sea salt room, the steam rooms, pools, and more! For $95 entry fee, we had spent from 10AM-4PM at the spa on a Wednesday. This was key to allowing ourselves to have space, fully relax, and take our time. We waited for nothing. Everyone we encountered was lovely, friendly, and chatty. Lots of laughter was shared and we ate amazing food at the restaurant onsite. Our matcha lattes and poke bowls were pricey, but delicious! It is a really cool concept but in the rooms everyone was SO loud. There were men that were being creepy. Girls and this man flirting and taking tik toks in the hot tub so I couldn't even go in. Someone got in a fight with the desk member and I had to wait behind it for 5-7 minutes that took away from my time. This in NO way was relaxing. Go to QC they really make sure it stays quiet. Went here for a birthday and it was alright. The value isn't there and like many others have commented, try to go on a weekday for almost a $100 savings on admission alone. The services are extra and be sure to be very specific about your preferences/expectations or else you might not enjoy the experience. Compared to some other spas this one stands out in aesthetic with really cool, elaborately decorated rooms and themes. Beautiful venue but the service could be improved.
