Loved this spa! This was my first experience with a spa like this - sort of korean spa adjacent. So many rooms for different experiences and so many of them had 'treatment' offers like exfoliating scrubs, lotions, serums, etc. Be sure to bring your swimsuit for the water rooms (or else you'll have to purchase one there) and the pool. They'll give you a robe and plastic flipflops for the day, but since they all look the same, it's easy to lose track of yours. You might want to bring a clip or something to identify it! Overall, it was a very relaxing experience. Didn't love the massage I got, so I don't recommend spending that extra money, but the cocktails and desserts at the restaurant were lovely. DISASTER , the restaurant don't had anything on the menu did not have any salads, sandwiches, or wraps available. We had the Sunset ticket, which is for after 5:00 p.m., so we found it unusual that they did not have anything available, especially since they offer an experience after 5:00 p.m. and should therefore be prepared with the full menu. We were forced to order a ham-and-cheese pizza, but asked for the ham to be served separately because one of my friends does not eat ham. The food took half a hour. When we went to the cabana, we did not have time to eat. Because we booked a massage for 7pm, We covered the food with napkins in our cabana with our belongings so we could go to our massage and return afterward to have dinner. The massage lasted only 25 minutes, When we returned, the food was gone. We tried to speak with someone, but a server only told us that the bussers usually do that. I asked who I could speak with, and he told me to go directly to the restaurant. When we tried to order food for a second time, after not being able to eat anything, we were told that the kitchen was already closed. I asked for the manager so I could explain that our food had been thrown away, but I was told there was no manager available and that I could speak with someone at the front desk during checkout. First of all, it was our first visit, and we were never given any information about the restaurant's last call or the sauna closing time. When we decided to go to the saunas after this entire unpleasant experience, they were already being turned off, so we were unable to enjoy them. At checkout, I asked to speak with someone, but unfortunately, no one was available at the front desk. A young man named Emmanuel eventually came over, gave me an email address, and apologized, saying that no one in charge was available. We were not even able to leave a tip for the massage therapist, although we had been told that we could do so at checkout. This is completely unacceptable. I really wanted to love QC Spa, but unfortunately the customer service completely overshadowed what was supposed to be a special day for our group. Three of us booked 50-minute massages MONTHS in advance and traveled nearly two hours from Westchester specifically to spend the day at the spa together. We were scheduled to arrive at 11:30 AM, and at 11:25 AM--literally five minutes before our arrival--I received an email saying that one of our three massages had been canceled due to a staffing shortage. Obviously things happen, and we understood that. What was completely unacceptable was how the situation was handled once we arrived. At check-in, I asked if there was another treatment available so that one person in our group wouldn't be completely left out. Rather than trying to help us find a solution, the male employee at the front desk was shockingly rude and dismissive. At one point, he actually told me to "take my bad energy back." I was honestly stunned. We had traveled two hours, booked months in advance, and QC canceled our treatment FIVE MINUTES before we arrived--and somehow I was treated like I was the problem for asking them to help rectify it. There was no comparable treatment offered, no real attempt to accommodate us, and no meaningful effort to make the situation right. We were offered two complimentary drinks for their mishap. Ultimately, because they could not accommodate a third treatment, we actually had to split one of our remaining 50-minute massages between two people just so everyone in our group could receive some sort of treatment. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated interaction. Throughout the day, it felt like one mishap after another and one disappointing customer service interaction after another. For a spa that markets itself as a luxury experience--and charges accordingly--the level of hospitality and customer service was nowhere near what it should be. The one exception was my massage therapist, Dante, who was wonderful. He was professional, kind, and provided exactly the level of service you would expect from a high-end spa. He deserves recognition and was easily the bright spot of the experience. The property itself is beautiful and has so much potential, but customer service matters, particularly when you're selling a premium experience. Canceling a treatment five minutes before a guest arrives after they booked months in advance is bad enough. Speaking disrespectfully to that guest when she asks you to help find a solution is completely unacceptable. I really enjoyed QC Spa and all the different whirlpool and hydrotherapy pools. I went on a hot summer day and at 12 o'clock. The place was fairly packed, but there was still a lot of room on the smaller pool so I spent most of my day there. I love the hydrotherapy seats and the hydrotherapy pools where you could lay down those really helped with my back and neck. I also love the hydrotherapy jets for my neck. The water temperature was really really nice in the small pool, but in the bigger pool there are two portions where it is colder. There isn't much to talk about in terms of saunas. They're just regular saunas. there is some rainfall rooms and a foot pool and those were cool as well. My biggest annoyance is that it's so far you have to take a ferry to get there. I wish it were a little bit closer on the mainland of Manhattan or Brooklyn, and I wish that there was a cold plunge. There's a lot of saunas, but there are no cold rooms. QC Spa is also really expensive for food. I spent about $175 in food and that's on top of the entrance fee. The only free food and drinks you got were apples and fruit water. Overall - I had an amazing day here with my friend and it was a great way to beat the heat during a July NYC heatwave. However, there are a few things they could change to greatly improve the experience. WHAT WENT WELL: Beautiful views (obviously) and cool to be in such an old historic building. We both commented that we really felt like we were on a vacation and not in the city. I had never been to a spa before, and with nothing to compare it to I generally enjoyed the amenities, specifically the cold / water rooms. WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED: My main takeaway was that there needs to be a system to reserve or mark pool chairs. It was almost impossible to find a seat without someone's towel on it, but most were empty. They need to have a system to mark whose chairs are actively being used. My friend and I ended up having to stay in the water the entire time when we really looked forward to sunbathing. The staff was also rude as a whole. It takes a lot for me to complain about staff, but no one seemed happy to be there and it took away from the experience. The dining options - they have a reservation only restaurant; and the only other option is "table service" first come first serve, which was confusing, expensive, and we were told it would take 30-40 minutes. This is fine, but for a place that doesn't allow outside food and doesn't offer any other snacks, it feels pretty unreasonable when people are planning to spend the whole day there. Also the women's locker room (third floor) only had 3-4 shower stalls and the line was LONG to use them throughout peak moments of the day. We were also always confused where we were - the elevator was a vibe killer and the different room options seemed weirdly placed. It was like a labyrinth and not in a good "get lost" way. Long story short, I would come back for sure . When I do, Here's what I'd make sure to do .... FOR SURE...get here by the 9am open. Catch the 8:30 ferry and you'll be first in line at the door. It's worth it! If it's helpful I spent 6 hours here leisurely. It's my first time and I was slowly exploring . When I come back I might try the sunset entrance and see how I make out in the 4 hrs . If it feels rushed or not Be sure to plan accordingly . Look at the ferry schedule and time yourself. Ensure you have a reservation for a place to eat in the city. My meal was $90 and ehh that could go a lot further in Manhattan with a tastier meal. Be sure to bring your own refillable bottle. The drink stations here are elite, and who wants to walk around with cardboard cups. Walk out of the locker room with the bag they give you!! Since you can't wear shoes in any of the saunas, be sure to drop your shoes in the bag. I know it sounds gross (it is) but There's no way to tell which shoes are yours. There are no cubby's and unfortunately the robes don't have pockets so the bag is your only option. Trust me , I walked out only to find my shoes missing (taken accidentally) about three different times. There are sand timers in each of the saunas...use them...it's a great way to gauge how close you are to maximizing each rooms experience. Move slowly. Leave your phone. Unplug. Enjoy yourself. It's beautiful PRO TIP! When you're done and heading back to the locker room to change , stop by the reception area and ask for fresh towels. QC is very gimmicky with cute decor rooms. But I would have preferred more properly maintained, functional rooms. The food wasn't great and was very overpriced, and the servers were rude. The restaurant was empty; we had a reservation, and the snark came from being 5 minutes early. Don't tell you they don't offer containers for leftovers unless you ask, and they wouldn't let me take my leftover salad outside unless I ordered bread to put it on, with it carefully balanced on a small open-face slice of bread in the palm of my hand. No menus, only QR codes, which had to ask about menus several times til they showed us the tiny QR on a mini coffee urn on the table. Only 3 people in my entire party were in the restaurant, and they made us sit at a single table, maybe 2 ft round. The heated pools are barely heated, and the indoor water features are too. No hot tubs or cold plunge. A sad ice room. You scoop ice, and instructions say to sit on the ice chips or put your feet on. The salt room is pretty, but without a halogen generator, it's ineffective. The steam room: the peppermint was so strong it stung my eyes and throat. In almost every room, at least one water feature was broken. Water pressure in some rooms is so strong it stings. When I pressed a button for a water feature got a shot of stinging water to the bikini area and another right to my face. Shallow hooks by all the treatment areas. The sauna's metal hinges burn when you sit or lie down. No pockets in robes, with one loop in the very back. Had to go down to the front desk for a robe because no attendants were available. Check-in was an unnecessary multi-step process compared to similar spas. Not safe for people with mobility or physical impairment. Locker rooms: Only 3 showers in the locker room; no attendant. Not enough benches. No hooks anywhere. No linen deposit inside. No shelf, hook, or bench in the shower. Water is hard. The locations and orientation between the 2 buildings are a maze, even with maps. The hour and half hour rituals include putting on eye masks, foot and hand masks, and rubbing yourself. Everything is slippery, and bring your own sandals; they provide sandals that are uncomfortable and slippery. They don't keep up with keeping clean. And the amount of water damaged ceilings, tiles damaged or missing. There wasn't enough water for the water features, for instance, the Vichy showers. I went on a day that wasn't very busy, surprisingly, on a Sunday. I can't imagine it would be better with more people. read more

I absolutely love this spa! It's definitely my favorite spa in NYC. The view of the City from Governor's island makes this spa feel relaxing but, also regal. Staff is always friendly and accommodating, and they recently introduced an hourly sound bath meditation group you can join in on at your convienience. You have the option of booking a 3-hour, 5-hour, or all day pass for different prices but, I personally find the 5-hour package to be enough. There are appetizers available, like sandwiches and a small charcuterie board ranging from $18- $26 dollars and buffet, for the evening session. A bar is also available for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages also within the same price range. There is a restaurant on the property, but I did not get a chance to eat there so I can't give an opinion but, the food did smell amazing while walking past. My only complaint is that the spa is going through renovations and it can be hard to find the different ameneties on the property. The entire spa is divided into 2 buildings and it can be hard to navigate with the work that is going on but, all in all, I would recommend QC to anyone looking for a wonderful spa in NYC. read more

I've visited this spa before and had great experiences, but my most recent visit, which was supposed to be a special birthday treat, was incredibly underwhelming. For a day that cost over $700 in value, I expected far more attention to detail. The issues started immediately with the robes. My friend's robe had holes, and mine had an orange stain. While the staff did replace them, having to point out stained, damaged robes upon arrival set a poor tone. Later, we had a couples massage treatment valued at over $400. The room didn't feel thoroughly cleaned; we actually found two old beverage cups left in the window sill from the previous guests (I have video proof). The decor and feel of the room looked more like a $50 city massage spot than a high-end resort. What happened to the wristbands where our card is automatically on there? Carrying my phone and wallet everywhere is not convenient or safe, especially when having to leave the bags to go into the pool and or sauna. The worst part, however, was the rush at the end of the day. We were told to be ready for the ferry, but the staff began aggressively rushing us out. While I was still dressing, a staff member grabbed the towel I was using and actually locked my locker while I was still getting my things. When my friend politely asked for space, she was ignored until she had to be stern. I left feeling like I could have just stayed in the city and gone to a regular bathhouse. This used to feel luxurious, but it now feels like a chaotic assembly line. I hope management addresses the cleaning and customer service standards. Absolutely love coming here! I come here at least twice a year for birthday occasions. They have a promo which you can purchase a ticket for yourself and the birthday person gets in for free. Ive never had an issue with this promo & you are allowed to use it within your birthday month. I've been coming here for the past three years and it's great to see the improvements they make each time we come. You have to make sure to make your reservations ahead of time because this place gets booked! I'd say the food items are pricey. When you're here all day, you are bound to buy at least one item. I was bummed they had several items on the menu that was sold out already and it was only 2pm. I do appreciate the complimentary coffee/tea they have available and the apples too! The locker rooms are always too tier! Always clean and well kept. Actually the overall space I feel is kept in pretty clean condition all day. In fact, I'm shocked anyone waits on a line, there's plenty of relaxation rooms as they call them and various saunas to dip into... a lot of it is silly to me because once I hit a sauna and steam room, I'm just bopping between those and the outdoor pools. (There should be hot tubs, but aren't. * Bring your own snacks, they provide you with a locker, so just set aside something you think you'll want because the food situation is bleak; you're either paying $50/p for a buffet (I don't know who wants to stuff themselves full of food when trying to relax at a spa) or you're getting a chicken salad wrap or little cups of cherry tomatoes and salami. * Don't count on the flops they provide, they suck and they pile up, you might lose yours to someone else, bring your own. (And always make sure you know exactly where you leave your robe hanging, we went on a day where robes were stacked three deep on the available hooks. Way too many people) My last little upset was that the entire last hour of my session, the steam room wasn't hot or steaming, there was another steam room around the corner but there wasn't any room for another human... Oh, and a 25 minute couples massage is an insane joke at $230.... 25 Minutes!! Hahaha GFY. Now that I was so negative, I almost don't have the energy to be positive, but I'll say it was worth it! This might possibly be my favorite spa in NYC now. I love exploring all the different rooms since they have 2 connecting buildings, I went twice and realized there were spaces I didn't go to the first time! They do a healthcare worker discount 30% off and a birthday BOGO promotion as well. When you book a reservation online, they also include the ferry ticket to Govenor's Island as well, and you can pick your times to get there. The boat ride only takes 5 minutes from the city! Love the saunas, outdoor pools (heated in the winter!), and the many many rooms (and secret rooms)! I really love finding little nooks where there's free coffee, tea, apples, apple cider, etc! The buffet lunch was full of variety, and for $44, it's a better value to me than their $28 sandwich... Just do the buffet! Every hour on the hour they have a foot mask ritual in the lavender room so you're handed a mask for your feet to soak in, and they give you a towel at the end to wipe it off. There's also a room of comfy huge baby carriages where they do a seaweed eye mask ritual every hour too, and they hand you a piece of dried seaweed to snack on. Fun way to spend a day but a very lukewarm spa experience. Amazing view of the NYC skyline Buffet Very small selection, foods are at weird temperatures, and batches taste inconsistent. The salmon was ice cold, chicken was dry and room temperature, pasta cold-- only thing warm was the soup which tasted great my first time but when I went for seconds it lacked taste, like they forgot to add salt. Weirdly, they have a charcuterie station with a bunch of meats but no hard cheese. Food does not taste as good as it looks Saunas None of the rooms really felt hot enough where I felt like I was in a sauna. Water experiences like the waterfall and Vichy shower had tepid water pressure. Location, location, location! The idea of having a spa on Governors Island is pure genius. This was our first time visiting QC Spa on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and we came for the sunset birthday package. There were four of us, and two people in our group were celebrating birthdays. The initial check-in experience was warm, welcoming, and helpful, which we really appreciated. The spa itself is beautiful, and the view is absolutely the highlight. Watching the sunset poolside was perfect, and the location truly makes the experience feel special. Unfortunately, the restaurant experience did not start off well. Some of the staff came across as rude and not very accommodating before we were seated. We also overheard staff talking about us in the kitchen before deciding who would take our table, which was disappointing and uncomfortable. Once we were finally seated, the service improved, but the kitchen was out of several items, including salads, wraps, gelato, and salmon. The food we did receive was not the best, especially for what we expected from the overall experience. That being said, we enjoyed the rest of the staff, the amenities, and the overall atmosphere of the spa. The views and sunset experience made the visit memorable. I recently came back for my second visit this year and still just absolutely adore the experience they curate here. I always leave feeling so relaxed and content, I'm convinced this place puts a magical spell on me each time! When booking you can select a limited time slot or spring for an all day pass, trust me, the daily pass is worth it! Then you'll get an email to book your complimentary ticket for the ferry. Upon arrival I was shown to a kiosk to check in, presented ID, linked my payment for purchasing food & bev, and received my wristband that had my locker number. The locker room I was assigned this time was more spacious and had more showers & blowdryers than the other women's room. I also appreciate that there were face & body products available for use in case you forgot your own. When you open your locker you'll see a tote bag with a robe, 2 towels, and a pair of flip flops (though the sizing you receive is completely random so I bring my own which also makes them easier to identify when putting them back on after being in the sauna or pool). My one gripe is having to pay for additional towels when the entry fee is already quite high, I just think this stifles the experience and makes it not feel as high end. My strategy is to do all the dry stuff first (sauna, relaxation rooms, red light, etc.) and save the water activities (pool, aqua level, steam room) for the end of my experience that way I'm not sitting around all day in a soggy swimsuit and paying for multiple towels. Overall the spa is beautifully appointed, however this time I did see some worrying signs of wear - many saunas have shifting/loose floor boards and the ceiling beams on the aqua level had peeling coating and rust spots. Light refreshments are offered throughout the spa (flavored water, apple cider, coffee and tea, apples, and other small offerings from attendants) plus a buffet ($) and a bar area ($). I was happy to see they finally started offering some à la carte sandwiches as well, a buffet is just not enticing to me, I would love to see some lighter fare on the menu like a fruit plate or yogurt bowl. During my visit there were a few additional experiences like a group meditation with under eye patches and a guided foot massage which I much appreciated as they made the experience feel slightly more luxe. I love how many little nooks you can find all over the property for relaxation and unique experiences. I ended up spotting a swing from inside of a sauna and immediately went to find it! Beds, rocking chairs, and cushions, there are plenty of places to get comfy and read a book or meditate. The views are stunning and the overall experience feels luxurious, relaxing, and restorative. A friend booked this for our group of 10, and honestly, I had never even heard of Governors Island before this trip. We got to the Battery Maritime Building at Slip 7 just before 10 a.m., and the line for the ferry was already long. FYI: if you have a reservation at QC Spa, the ferry is free. Boats run every 30 minutes, and the ride itself is only about 7 minutes (great news for people like me who get seasick--it's literally just across the water). They don't require prepayment when you make the reservation, which was nice, you pay at the front desk upon arrival. We opted for the 5-hour pass ($124). Check-In & Lockers Check-in was a bit of a drag. Like other reviewers mentioned, the staff didn't really explain anything about the amenities. We were basically pointed to our lockers and left to figure things out. At first, we were told the 2nd floor was women's lockers, then directed to the 3rd floor "for men." Turns out the 3rd floor has both men's and women's lockers. Confusing! The lockers themselves are a little tricky. Pro tip: Type in your 5-digit code + press V to set it. To lock, hold the door closed while entering your code + press V again. Don't let go until you hear the click. Each guest receives a tote bag with a robe, two towels, jelly flip-flops (not comfy at all), and a wristband. What they don't tell you is that you need to add your credit card during check-in to use the wristband for purchases. Otherwise, you'll have to carry your card or phone around for food and drinks. Pools, Loungers & Wellness Rooms By the time we got outside, most of the daybeds were already claimed. Lounge chairs were available but not the most comfortable. Still, we scored front-row seats with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline. The outdoor heated pools with bubbling jets were the highlight of the day where we spent most of our time there. Inside, there are supposedly about 20 themed wellness rooms, but again, no one explained this at check-in and there's no map. We only found out because friends stumbled upon them. Some we tried: Dry sauna Ice room Water bed room Vichy shower Cold water bucket "challenge" Foot bath (never quite figured out how it worked--lots of guests looked equally frustrated, and honestly, I think ours wasn't working at all). Would've been so much better with clear instructions or staff guidance, instead of wasting time experimenting. Food & Drinks Cocktail game was strong. I stuck to Aperol and Limoncello spritzes, both solid. There are water stations everywhere, which is great. Food-wise, I had the tuna wrap with chips (just okay), and for dessert, the chocolate whiskey ice cream (yes, it has booze, but not overpowering, it was actually good!). We skipped the buffet since we weren't that hungry, and based on other reviews, sounds like we didn't miss much. Overall Experience Despite the hiccups with staff communication, locker confusion, and lack of guidance for the wellness rooms, it was still a fun experience with friends. The view from the pools alone makes it worth trying at least once. Next time, I'd probably try the sunset pass, since I've heard it's a vibe and would give me time to explore the island during the day. 5 stars for all the water related spa rooms and the lavender room, but mixed thoughts about the other features We used my birthday to go since you get 1 free admission that month - I think it was worth it at that price point but definitely don't think I would go full price. The bottom level of both buildings have the water related spa rooms (waterfall, jets, vechi baths/scrub, steam rooms and the outdoor pool). Those were definitely the highlights and where we spent most of our time. They also have a guided foot massage in the lavender room every hour which we enjoyed as well. Other than that the spa felt a bit gimmicky - lots of whimsical rooms to lie around but a lot of the same thing. The little lotions and scrubs all around were a nice touch but not sure if they were the best quality. I would recommend they add more attention to this - it's a simple thing that would significantly boost the overall experience. We've been coming here for the past few years, usually in hubby's birthday month since he's a summer baby. Our first experience was amazing and it's only gotten better, especially since they've expanded. We always book early and during the week when there's less of a chance of a lot of patrons. We always book the first reservation with the birthday special so we can scope out our perfect spot with a view by the pool. The check-in process is seamless now that they not only have in-person assistance at the counter, but also multiple kiosks to accommodate a large amount of people entering at once. The locker rooms are still spacious and clean. They've brought back the complimentary totes and still provide spa products. During my visit they were in the process of renovating part of the pool sitting area. It looked like landscaping. I'm unsure if they have completed that. As previously mentioned, they have opened their second building, which houses the new restaurant and a few levels of additional experiences, including mini events, relaxation rooms with water beds, and optical illusion interactive pieces. They now also offer a sit down restaurant with buffet option for $44. There's an option for Sunset Bites between 6-9p, when you get their aperitivo tray free with any drink purchase. This deal is only available if you pay full price, meaning you can not combine it with a discounted admission (i.e. Birthday Promo). I really wish I knew about the buffet ahead of our visit or at least during our check-in, because we would have taken advantage of that. Whenever we visit, we usually stay the whole day, leaving near closing. Having the buffet would mean we could stay longer and not have to worry about grabbing dinner afterwards, before heading home. The ferry is always cute. We drive down and park across the street. The price isn't too bad, especially for the entire day. It pays to have a small breakfast ahead of your booking time so that you're not dying of hunger before you get a chance to eat at the spa. QC will always be our annual relaxation destination every year. I always tell fiends so we can take advantage of the birthday special. You're able to stay the entire day with that special, so it's definitely worth it. The staff is amazing, pleasant, and helpful. read more

Trashy & Rude Customer Service -- First Impressions Matter! I called on August 24th at 1:24 PM to inquire about spa packages because I was considering planning a team-building experience for my staff and me. Unfortunately, the customer service I received completely changed my mind about spending my money at this establishment. The woman who answered the phone had an extremely unpleasant and dismissive attitude throughout the conversation. I was simply asking questions about the services and packages, yet her tone made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her by calling. After I thanked her for the information, she hung up the phone in my ear while I was still speaking. There was no "thank you," no "have a great day," and certainly no apology. I immediately called back because I wanted to get her name and address the situation. Instead, she refused to provide her name and responded with, "What do you want? If you have any more questions, ask." The irony is that she never gave me the opportunity to finish speaking before she abruptly ended the first call. That interaction was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. First impressions matter. I was calling as a potential customer looking to spend money with your business and potentially bring several people with me. Instead, the customer service I received ensured that I will be taking my business elsewhere. I sincerely hope this company records its calls for quality assurance because if that conversation was recorded, there was nothing "quality" about the service I received. Very disappointing. TDLR: Very cool experience that is unique compared to the typical spa day. 3 stars if you want actual relaxation, 4 stars if you want a fun experience with your friends. Phones are allowed and you don't have to stay quiet. You take the ferry there which is super fast, less than 10 minutes. Once you arrive they have everything for you - they provide flip flops, 2 towels, 1 bathrobe, a bag and plastic bags for your wet bathing suit. You get an assigned locker and can choose your code. Bring sunglasses and a water bottle. You need your ID at check in. I found the property confusing to navigate. There are two main pools that look onto the NYC skyline and some pool chairs in grass to hang out. The building is kind of a maze, but there are rooms where you can sit in fun spinning chairs, lay in a water bed, do a foot massage, sit in a cold room and rub ice on yourself, get an eye mask and eat seaweed snacks, sauna, steam room, etc. You can buy a drink but you can't have it in or around the pool. They accept a credit card or apple pay. As I mentioned before, this isn't the super relaxing spa experience that you might expect. Everyone is talking and has their phones out. People are taking photos in the pools. So, if you were planning on quiet relaxation, this is not the place. read more

When I mentioned wanting a refund and leaving to the front desk, I was basically told "go find something else to do" and they tried saying a refund wasn't an option. That's when the "Operations Manager" helped find a chair. Don't tell me to find something else to do if I paid to be there, and can't even sit in a chair outside. You also pay for a time window to be there. I stood in line twice for drinks, and there was 1 bartender. Both times, it literally took 30 minutes to move through the line and get a drink, so I spent 60 minutes of my limited time standing in a line. We have been to QC Spa at least 3 times before and had a lovely time. But this year, my partner, whose birthday is on Jan 26th tried to do the birthday buy one get one free promo and we were denied. Last year, in the fine print it said if you make a birthday promo reservation it has to be within 30 days of your birthday so I thought that same rule applied this year but it had changed and nobody let us know that until we were already there which isn't an easy place to get to. At first, the one woman helping people get checked in told us that you can use the promo seven days before and seven days after your birthday date but it has to be in the same month. This doesn't make sense if you have a birthday at the end of the month because then the 7 days bleeds into the next month which I told her and she was like a robot and just kept repeating that rule. Then we talked to a manager with blond hair who kept talking over us and acting like we were stupid. She rolled her eyes. She told us the 30 days was never the case and she's been there for three years. She wouldn't listen to what I had to say and didn't seem to believe that we had been there before. So we went outside because it was really warm and stuffy and I got upset like we were there to share a rare day off and was being treated badly. We look up the past trip and low and behold, I was right. His birthday is on Jan 26th, I made the reservation on Feb 4th 2025 and it was for a Feb 19th 2025. Last year, they let us in. No problem. So we came back in, and my partner showed them the proof. Another older woman with long brown hair also came up with a reason why we were allowed to come in last year. After tag team yelling at us with the blond lady, she suddenly "remembered" that last year there was a power outage and SHE gave us an exception because they had to close early and reschedule people. We were both like "no, that didn't happen."Nobody mentioned a power outage last year or that they were giving us an exception. Then she totally changed her answer and said last year the person who let us in (who suddenly wasn't her) doesn't work there anymore and giggled. I was like didn't you just say you let us in?? Like what? Usually, when someone gives multiple excuses it means they are lying. For this year, 2026, I booked it for Tuesday Feb 24th but the blizzard happened the day before. Where 19.7 inches of snow fell and a snow like this hasn't happened in 20 years. Places were already hard to get to because of the snow, add in the fact that the QC is on Governors Island which is a mostly abandoned island and doesn't have a lot of people or activity that you have to take a ferry to. Would the sidewalks even be cleared? I didn't know what the conditions would be like or if they would even be open. I mentioned that we had booked it for Tuesday Feb 24th but had to reschedule for Thursday Feb 26th and the brown haired woman smirked and was like "well we were open on Tuesday." And she said it in a way that implied that she would have given us an exception but if that were the case, it totally negates the 7 day rule so why even mention it? Overall, they were really nasty to us. Didn't care at all, kept talking over us, made up multiple excuses as to why they let us in before but not this time. They clearly don't give a damn about their customer. I used to recommend the QC to my friends and they would come. We loved it there with all the options for saunas and steam rooms and their outside pools with an amazing view. Despite how they allow phones in the bathing and sauna areas so anyone can film you. I also never liked the food (it's bland, mostly tiny and overpriced). And now after being treated so poorly while also being lied to and talked over I see no reason to return. After being treated this way, I wanted to go home and cry. But the day was young and my partner was like let's just go somewhere else. Luckily, we live in a big city where spa's are trending. While visiting Governor's Island in NYC, I decided to treat myself to an evening of wellness for $136. This price is for the evening and you have access to many of the amenities including the pools at the spa. Some of the features include Magnificent views of the city Fun treatment areas that I have not seen at other spas. Heated outdoor pools Igloos with beautiful views Saunas Fantastic ladies room filled with great feminine products The cafe is mediocre at best so I would skip the food but overall this was a great experience and I would go back. Do not go here. You will regret paying a lot of money for a totally crap experience, and the worst part is they don't even care. The views of Manhattan are great, but that is really where the positives ended. The place was massively overcrowded. It was difficult to find somewhere to sit, difficult to move around comfortably and difficult to actually relax. They should be managing the number of guests so that people can actually enjoy the facilities, but again, they don't care. We tried to order drinks, along with plenty of other guests, and were told that we needed to have a table inside first and could not take anything outside. The problem was that every table was occupied and stayed occupied for hours. One of the staff members even told us it "probably wasn't worth waiting" before walking off. Great, thanks pal. So despite paying a premium price, there was effectively no practical way for us to order food or drinks. We sat outside drinking water because that's all we could get. The outdoor areas are poorly maintained. There were loungers all squeezed together atop muddy grass and there were empty glasses, plates and half-eaten food left all over the place. Even the MANDATORY flip-flops they insist you wear were terrible. They are incredibly rigid and uncomfortable, and both my wife and I ended up with red rubbing marks on our toes. Couple that with having to queue to get into the showers and navigate used and discarded towels lying all over the place, and you leave pissed off rather than relaxed. I emailed QC after the visit with a detailed explanation of what had happened and gave them every opportunity to respond privately before I posted this review. They didn't. They have completely ghosted me. They're happy to take $160+ per person from customers, but when you explain why the experience was so poor, they can't even be bothered to respond. Save your money. Go on the free Staten Island Ferry for some views and then have a damn bubble bath at home. You'll end up happier and still have $300+ in your pocket. read more

I'm honestly surprised this place only has 3.3 stars! It's such a nice and clean spa with so so so much to do. I came with my mom and sister and we spent roughly 6-7 hours here. We loved the saunas, relaxation rooms, and pools. They even offered a "foot mask, relaxation" time which we joined and loved! I will say- the route to get here can be inconvenient for some, but I found it fun to get on the ferry. Also, the food was alright- but absolutely not worth the price. I've been wanting to go to this spa for a while and finally had the chance to go on my birthday last Friday. There's a wellness birthday promotion for $175 where you get free entrance with a paying companion during your birthday month. This includes access to all spa amenities with complimentary robe, towels, sandals, and toiletries. Ferry tickets are complimentary and included with your booking. Also arrive at the Ferry Terminal 15 minutes before your departure time for boarding. Ferry was about a 10 minute ride. Reception check-in was quick and easy, the staff were nice and friendly. The dressing rooms were clean. It was definitely a fun and relaxing spa day with my husband. Not crowded and perfect weather with the breathtaking manhattan skyline view. There's also a bistro for small bites, drinks, cocktails and a buffet. We shared the chicken wrap that comes with chips and chocolate for $28, we thought it was ok. For cocktails, I had the Aperol Spritz and my husband had the Cosmopolitan at $20 each. I would definitely come back and have another spa day with my husband or with my girlfriends. I would recommend to bring your own sandals, the sandals provided were uncomfortable and hard. I would also stay the whole day to enjoy the evening and try the buffet. The food buffet looked delicious for $44. My husband and I also should have explored more since there were other rooms I didn't get to check out. Heaven on earth. It's Italian beach club meets Sleep No More. How everyone is not rating this 5 stars I will never understand. I've been to almost every spa in the city, and not only is this my favorite spa experience, but it's now my favorite place in all 5 boroughs. Operationally, I love that they guide you through the experience, tell you to buy ferry tickets in advance, give you a wristband with your locker number on it, and give you everything you need inside your locker, including a tote bag to carry your things around the spa. It's so organized and clean. They provide moisturizers and other products throughout. I love that there is a bar and restaurant on the premises. You really could (and should) spend all day here exploring all 32 rooms. They are all incredible and there are so many surprises. And the place was not packed and overbooked. The photos and videos speak for themselves, so I won't give too much away. Love the fire twirlers on Friday nights. I will be back as often as possible. read more
