Before going, I had heard and read good reviews on SoJo Spa, but I was still skeptical and worried it would just be multiple regular saunas and pools. However, it turned out incredibly worth it! The first and main thing you'll notice is the incredible amount of outdoor space there is, with stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. Within that open space, there is an extensive selection of pools. There's the infinity pool, hydrotherapy pool, hinoki bath, silk bath, carbon-rich bath, foot massage path, and a cold plunge waterfall! Aside from the waterfall, all the other pools are heated. As for the indoor saunas, there's a Himalayan salt sauna, charcoal sauna, red clay sauna, white clay sauna, ganbanyoku sauna, and an ice room. My favorite was the hydrotherapy pool, located on the 4th floor, where they shoot water jets/streams to target and massage different parts of your body. There's sections on one side of the pool that massage the bottom of your feet; another your legs, back, and even one where you lay down and get hydro massaged throughout your whole body. Prices here range based on the day, from $100 to $140. The cheapest admission tickets are Tues to Thurs, while the most expensive are on weekends. Honestly, despite how expensive SoJo was, it was a delightful and relaxing 'treat yo' self' experience that was well-worth it even without any of the extra treatments and services. read more

FOOD 4/5 Not as good as we had last time but still pretty good! * Margherita Pizza was very melty towards the center and made it really hard to eat. Flavors were great. * Salmon in the salmon teriyaki bowl was fresh. * Mahi Mahi sandwich was not as good as I had it last time... Amazing and a great treat for yourself or anyone you bring here! Highly recommend coming here on a weekday morning as there are so much less people and it definitely gets quite crowded. I got the classic massage as a splurge and it was a great experience, though the masseuse did try to push me to buy the hair mask at the end. I didn't get daily admission but the treatment comes with 2 hours after that you can hang around which was plenty for me as it got so crowded after. The pools were all crowded with large groups of people yelling, people using their phones at full volume including in saunas and no one on staff was doing anything to manage this behavior. My first experience at SoJo Spa and it didn't disappoint. Edwin checked us in and his enthusiasm is contagious. SoJo is clean with plenty of staff and ammenitites. Filled with floors and pools and saunas there's something for everyone. After admiring the Manhattan skyline we stopped at the dining area and the worst part was choosing one selection from so many good choices. I had the tune poke bowl. It was filled with healthy goodness! Cucumbers, edamame, avocado, lettuce with plenty of raw tuna. Before leaving we had to return and sample the tangerine vanilla twist - a refreshing delicious treat. There are so many spa services from which to choose. My friends and I all opted for the 1 hour Korean Scrub. It came with a shampoo and body massage. Ellie K had strong hands and left my skin baby smooth! When not in a sauna, hot tub or pool or cool plunge there are several comfy cozy places to relax. We visited on a Tuesday and arrived when they open which is the way to go. They have the most stressful entree process I've ever experienced. We were irritated before we even made it to the elevator. You're not allowed to wear shoes while walking around the spa and they don't offer anything to wear on your feet for sanitary purposes. They have several different saunas with multiple themes but they were still crowded and pretty unimpressive. The food is reasonably priced, good portion sizes and honestly really good. The single best part of the spa is the Korean body scrub and if you're going to schedule one, splurge on the deluxe scrub which is an additional $150 + $30 auto gratuity. It was amazing! Valet parking. My first time here. They give you a robe and locker to put your belongings. Theres pool, saunas , massages (cost extra), etc. I love the sauna rooms. The infinity pool has a great view. When i saw the big recliner chairs i thought they were massage chairs but sadly they weren't. But the chairs are very comfy to take naps in . The whole experience is very relaxing. You can literally spend the whole day here. Food was surprisingly very good, reasonable price and the portions are huge. Okay no parking lot weird ... then we get to the front and it's busy in the lobby I started to get worried because it wasn't looking to lux , especially for the 160$ day pass. So we go to the next line , and it's like TSA lollll they're opening every zipper and crevice. Ok cool do ur jobs queen I don't mind, but the vibes were ruined after that point for me and I was trying to bounce back the positive vibe but it was hard, the person searching was kind but the way it felt like I was going to get in trouble for some reason. Anyway next line, no shoe facility, okay makes sense , where are the slippers though? No slippers or slides or anything nope. Okay yes let's all get toe fungus walking around on the cheapest carpet option they could've ever found. Dressing room PACKED. over whelming af, and guess what.... This killed me, 5 stalls of bathrooms and hundreds of lockers. Dead serious, where's the logic? Who designed this place?? It's disgusting, smelled awful in the bathrooms, and obviously had to wait in a line. Anyway, I get changed and we go out to the different rooms. Okay 8 floors seems promising... nope. Every sauna full. Could barely get space to go into any , the like 7 available options for hundreds to share????? Bro I was aghast, even if you could find space in the sauna people are opening and closing the door coming in and out, opening it to look for space , letting cold air rush in so I literally wasn't able to break a sweat. I swear y'all that "charcoal sauna room" not a single piece of. Charcoal in there. That was wood painted black I stg I was touching it and looking at it like wth is this? The Cold room was just a walk in fridge. Yep. Sad. After not being able to find room in the saunas we went to the infinity pool with the most stunning view of construction!!!!! I really wanted to like this spa... but it wasn't all that people had made it out to be. The spa is a barefoot facility, which is understandable. There were people cleaning constantly, so although it was uncomfortable to be barefoot everywhere - from the changing rooms to the cafeteria, to elevators, I was slightly comforted that the floor at least was not too gross and/or carpeted. You're able to wear flip flops or sandals ONLY in the pool area. You don't get any complimentary slippers, which for the price I thought I'd receive. You do get robes and a medium towel. There is a decent amount of available pools, inside and outside. Infinity pool on the top floor was nice. But the view was OK. There was a lot of construction, so my time at the infinity pool on the rooftop was loud and busy. I have been to other spas in my life time, and this was not even close to top 5. Not worth the price, especially if you pay weekend prices, since it's also super crowded. read more

The spa itself is very well organized and has a ton of options when it comes to pools and saunas. My big issue is that my wife and I booked a couples massage for our anniversary. For the first 20 minutes, there was a very loud beeping in the room making it impossible to relax. After that there was construction noises entire time. This is no fault of the massage therapists and i'm sure its not SoJo's preference to have major construction across the street, but the sound is so deafening i really thought the beeping was coming from inside the room. We spoke to management about the issue after and all they could muster after waiting 20 minutes and missing time in the rest of the spa was 25% off for next spa session that expires in 3 months. So there resolution was to come back and spend more money. If you are thinking of getting a massage I would book somewhere else until the construction is complete which looks to be a far ways away. I really wish we would have been compensated more for the uncomfortable experience. Waiting after escalation of 3 layers of management to only get 25% forcing us to revisit and spend more just was not a satisfying resolution. read more

This was a really unique and fun experience! There's so much to do, my friends and I went from like 10-6. We went during the winter time and a weekday. There were still a lot of people but not so much I felt overwhelmed rather than relaxed. It's also entirely shoe free place so get a pedi! Lol There is just so much to try out and we actually got a real massage there and it was so delightful. My favorite pools were the outside warm pools. And even though it was freezing out, this system still works even primarily outside. Also their food was so good! A little pricey but oh well it was yummy. Annual trip to Sojo included a complimentary pair of socks. They sell the socks for $4.50 inside of the locker room. These socks are worth it to walk around in as they dont provide slippers. I got a hot chocolate and its powdered mix, topped with a ton of whipped cream and the toasted marshmallows. Just the toppings alone is a decadent, sweet experience. Leaving the hot chocolate to be very bland in comparison. This place can benefit patrons by adding more hot stone beds. They're so busy and always taken especially on the weekend read more

This was my first visit to the spa club. Going in is pretty confusing as not enough detail was given to me on where to go and what to do. After paying $15 for valet inside, you go to bag check. Then, you're given a Bracelet for a shoe locker as you must be barefoot in the facility. I did see a few people with water shoes and flip flops on throughout the spa. You then go up the elevator and to the locker room to change into a bathing suit and robe. The amenities were really nice and was enough variety to choose from. The food in the cafe was surprisingly very delicious and HUGE servings. Worth the buck. Overall experience was pretty good. Was taken to SoJo Spa Club for my birthday and overall had a pretty good experience! We got there early with day passes and were some of the first through the door. The line was wrapped around the ramp like it was a Drake concert lol. Crowd was super mixed: Lambos, Louis Vuitton, and regular folks like us just wanting some luxury. The amenities made the day pass feel worth it. I loved the hydrotherapy pools (especially early before the crowds) and the sunroom with the warm stone beds was heavenly. The infrared sauna and ice room were fun to try, and we ended up staying almost four hours. The food court was really cute and the smoothies were bangin' a nice little recharge between sauna hopping and soaking. Didn't want to eat that day but the food looked great too. Now for the minus-one star: some of the guests were... a lot. One girl literally ran out of the elevator in front of us made things feel weirdly snobby and kind of off, especially since my friend is Jamaican and I'm from Hawai'i. There were a few other moments that made the vibe feel less welcoming than it should have been. Also, the foot massage path? Pain. Literal pain. We agreed it was more like a punishment than relaxation And the silk bath? Nice in theory, but it lowkey smelled like cheese going bad lol. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I had the Korean scrub and all day access. Just about $300 including tax, parking and gratuity. The biggest down fall is the valet parking when arriving and leaving and the bag checking process. It took about 20minutes standing in the cold waiting for our car at the end of the day. The checking process only had a man rummaging through our bags. Also it was only one person checking bags which really held up the line. I will the the spa was really clean and there were people constantly around ensuring that it stayed that way. I loved that there were locker around where you could temporarily place when going into different rooms that were not good for your jewelry and phones. Finally made it here after years of hearing mixed things. I loved our visit. Came with girlfriends for a much needed self care day and that we did. Pros: - Stunning and large space. - The staff are really professional, kind and go above with service. - I got there around 10 am on NYC marathon Sunday so I think it was less busy than normal and loved the hour or so of an uncrowded space. Spent a ton of time in the women's bathhouse and it's perfect to experience essentially all facets of the ritual minus the steam room without having to switch to multiple rooms or levels (sauna, cold plunge, heated bath). - The rooftop infinity pool has a stunning view of the NYC skyline and even more so during sunset. - The cafeteria food is actually delicious and reasonably priced. Loved the vegan bimbap bowl. There's also a cafe bar on the rooftop but Sad, no matcha! Or decaf coffee. The monkey bread is tasty though. Cons: I wasn't incredibly impressed with the different saunas on the other level (clay, Himalayan salt, etc.) and didn't love that they're carpeted. It felt less sanitary seeing the visible sweat spot of the person that was laying there prior. I also found it annoying that although No Phone signs are posted some patrons chose to pass the time scrolling on their phone in the sauna, even taking videos and selfies. - SoJo practices barefoot or socks. They don't give out silicone slippers like other bathhouses I've visited. After a few plunges and baths, barefoot feels gross walking through an entire building. - Didn't love my Korean body scrub. It felt factory like. They also don't give you the exfoliating sponge they use on you and I just prefer to either see it or know that it's discarded afterwards and single use. All in all, it's definitely worth a visit and we'll likely be back. The outdoor pools are heated and it was pretty chilly the day we went and I didn't feel much of a temperature shock when visiting the outdoor spaces. So definitely doable in the winter. read more

Cons - I went on a Saturday and it was extremely crowded, which defeats some of the relaxing components of a spa. - It is a bit pricey even for a day pass. Online you can only make reservations for a group of five. For what you can get here, the price is reasonable for the entrance fee. Without getting a massage or extras, it still is a great experience. I love the ambience and how clean it is. Plus they have sort of strict policies but they should as people are here to relax in peace (away from their phones/pictures). It also felt safe with lockboxes and lockers throughout the area. We visited SoJo Spa Club as a group of 11 women to celebrate a 60th birthday and spent the full day (10am-6pm). Many of us booked two spa treatments and planned the day as a special celebration. We chose a weekday specifically to avoid crowds. Unfortunately, the experience did not reflect what we expected. From mid-morning onward, the spa felt consistently overcrowded. We moved between hot tubs, saunas, and pools throughout the day and repeatedly found them completely full with no available space. This wasn't a matter of short waits--it was an ongoing inability to access many of the core amenities that define the spa experience. The result was a day spent searching for usable space rather than relaxing. Service quality was also inconsistent. Several of us had foot massages that were below expectations for a spa of this level. One member of our group experienced a very rough massage and was advised to complete an incident report due to discomfort afterward. There was also a loud altercation on the rooftop involving guests, which escalated into a very uncomfortable situation involving accusations of racist behavior. This contributed to an already stressful and chaotic environment. What made this experience especially disappointing is that we raised concerns at multiple points in real time. In total, I spoke with or communicated with six different people--three staff members during our visit and three representatives afterward via phone and email. The consistent response throughout was that the facility was "at capacity," with no meaningful effort to address the situation or improve the guest experience while we were there. After the visit, I escalated the issue through customer service, first with Gloria, then with Customer Experience Management, and finally with General Management. I was ultimately contacted by the General Manager, who stated that the situation might have been handled differently had I not posted a negative review. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter and the number of issues experienced, no compensation or resolution was offered. As returning guests who have had positive experiences in the past, this visit represented a significant decline. While the facility itself is visually impressive, the overall experience felt more like a crowded resort than a spa, with limited access to amenities, inconsistent service, and a lack of effective guest support during problems. Given the cost, the size of our group, and the nature of the visit, this was extremely disappointing. I would encourage others to carefully consider whether the experience will match expectations, especially during peak periods. read more

This is my fifth time visiting and probably my last. Very upsetting, because it used to be my favorite spot. The spa itself is wonderful, pools are fun to swim or just to hang out in. Place looks pretty nice. However: In a large pool garbage was floating around (large clumps of hair and paper/plastic or something), when we said something they cleaned it, but I felt like someone should always be on a lookout. Ton of people, should be spaced out, we have time to come in, but there are walk-ins. On the website flip flops recommended, but not in the hallway, but everywhere else is ok. And believe it or not, there's a "shoe police", and they are nasty! Customer service goes out the window when they involve! It was pointed out that they clean the floor constantly, but they have nasty rugs everywhere that nobody touches . The food is not bad, but it used to be better couple of years ago. Jets in a large jacuzzi pool half are broken. Staff in women's locker room were very polite, friendly and helpful! But in the rest of the facility 50/50. I'm the type of person who goes to the spa for relaxation and longevity purposes. I love a place that's quiet, very clean and I can ingest healthy and clean fluids/food/products, after all, our skin is essentially another mouth. This place is like a cattle drive spa, it's built for the masses and it's far from a luxurious or relaxing experience. If you'd like to drink anything, you're going to have to buy it and it's going to have high fructose corn syrup in it or come in cheap plastic. They have a cafeteria that reminds me of a mall food court. The different soaking pools all have chlorine in them, which is very, very far from good for your body, there's also too many people in all of them. But, of course, if you're catering to the masses, you're going to need to keep everyone drenched in chlorine to stop the spread of unsavory bodily bacteria. This place is obviously making a killing doing what they do, I just want to be up front for the people who are like me and were hoping to have a more upscale, relaxing, health conscious experience. This is not that. I was actually so overwhelmed by the amount of humans that I briefly used a couple of the saunas and pools, I got my massage and bailed out real quick. A friend celebrated a birthday here and invited a bunch of us along for the experience. The reviews were right on the money, pun intended. We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon. Were I to return I'd pick a Tuesday late afternoon into sunset to avoid the crowds. The deep tissue massage was outstanding. As a massage student and a client for decades this LMT, Edward, really knew what he was doing. The massage chair itself had every possible option--built in and tilting face cradle, electronic elevation controls, and a heating element. The choice of oils or cream and some aromatherapy was a fun touch. Totally worth the entire experience for that massage! Staff super friendly and kind. However, who heard of no swimming in an Infinity pool? One star off for that. As a swimmer I was like WHAT? We didn't do many of the coed pools b/c they were just jammed full of people. However, the men's locker room-adjacent pools were near empty and the outdoor one was like a private tub so that was fantastic with perfect sunny weather and a nice view. The food in the cafe was ok, but they need to do more traditional Korean dishes esp. seafood & vegetarian. The veggie dumpling were fantastic, however. If you like your spas teaming with lots of bodies (it really felt like we were at Love Island most of the time), this is the place. If you prefer spas with fewer people go on a weekday am or early in the week late. read more

We had a gorgeous Friday afternoon at SoJo Spa Club, enjoying the lovely NYC skyline views. Arriving an hour before our hot stone massages, we explored some of the pools, jets, waterfall, saunas (including infrared), ice room, and healing rooms. It was an absolutely relaxing experience. Booking a spa service includes valet parking (otherwise, it's $15) and a few hours to use the facilities. You leave your shoes in a locker downstairs, then head up to the fourth floor to drop your belongings in another locker (same number), which you access with a fob wristband. Spa check-in is on the fifth floor. The infinity pool is on the 7th floor, and there's a little plant-filled space with chairs on the 8th (top) floor. In the future, I'd consider a hotel stay that includes a day pass for a girls' trip or couples' retreat. read more
