DORAL roll

OMG! IMPECCABLE!!! Doral roll was to die for, & we combined that with the beef noodles which had an amazing asian fusion taste to them.

Spicy edamame

Randomly came across this spot while craving sushi and was hoping for a good sushi experience in Florida, but unfortunately, I ended up with food poisoning. I ordered takeout for myself and my cousin. We started with the fried gyoza and sweet & spicy edamame. The edamame was flavorful and definitely on the spicy side, while my cousin thought the veggie noodles were just okay. However, the sushi rolls were a major disappointment. I ordered the Wagu and Sea Roll and the Rockstar Roll, but something tasted and looked off with both. The seafood and meat didn't appear fresh, and the colors seemed questionable. I couldn't even finish them. It's frustrating to spend almost $100 on food, only to leave most of it uneaten and then get sick that night and into the next day. Sadly, based on this experience, I wouldn't return or recommend this place.

I visited the new downtown location and was not impressed. I'm not sure if it's because the servers weren't fully done with training, but the service was very poor. My water was never filled up and I had to ask multiple times for condiments. I will say, the sushi menu is very extensive, and everything is plated nicely. They have some unique options as well such as sushi tacos and tuna pizza. I ordered the sashimi platter which took around 30 minutes to come out. The restaurant was slow so I'm not sure what took so long. The sashimi was fresh, but definitely would not come back for it.

We came here before the Adrienne Arsht Centre show - we scanned the menu and they also gave us a paper menu. My friend decided to get a mojito and we ordered spicy edamame for us to share. Unfortunately, they brought the regular edamame and when we told the waiter we had ordered the spicy version, he tried to say there was a miscommunication (but that was not true - both of us looked at each other quizzically). They did bring us the spicy version and it was very good. It is in several locations and we went to the downtown location. I ordered a roll with salmon and tuna and my friend ordered ceviche. The place has a mix of Peruvian and Asian. We had to keep asking them to fill up our waters and finally they bought a large bottle of water to else at the table. I had signed up to reserve a table through Open table and they didn't quite understand how to check me in. Eventually, they did figure it out, but it wasn't easy for them - to sure why.

Sashimi dinner

Complimentary roasted corn nuts were delish. Hubby ordered the sashimi dinner, it was probably the prettiest presentation we've ever seen. Very fresh tasting. The star for us was the classic ceviche - SO GOOD. No pic of that because we hoovered it up. Perfectly flavored and very fresh. I ordered a noodle dish which was over seasoned for my taste but the other dishes made up for it. Would go back if we were in town again.

Visited Sokai Sushi bar on Wednesday for happy hour and I was pleasantly surprised! They have $4 Sake bombs, $5 wine and $8 cocktails mon to Friday 12-6 which is super long for a Miami restaurant. They even have a kids menu. For sushi I am a crab fan so I ordered the Flagler and Tokio roll (10/10). The Thai donuts are my FAVORITE dessert. I'd come back just to eat those! The Marianne is very quiet and intimate, I'd recommend If in the area or just went to pop in for a quick bite. Oh and Lelianny was our server! She was super kind and welcoming

One thing I love about Magie is they are always going to uplift folks in the community - be it with space for local businesses who don't have brick and mortars to pop-up and sell food, or by creating a space for locals to hang and get work done and not be bored in their houses. I can definitely see myself at Cafe Magie on Fridays this summer. Service is always so friendly here, and the space is so cozy it's perfect to get work done, and then once the clock strikes wine-o-clock you can enjoy wine while you work, too!

I ordered a charcuterie tray for the three of us; it's not premade. You pick the ingredients and then they are charged à la carte. For the one we enjoyed with Brie, prosciutto and jam. It came up to about $40. We enjoyed a bottle of chardonnay - nicely cool and crisp - while chatting and enjoying the game. I think they just have bottles, not wine by the glass. I'd certainly recommend Magie for a casual date night, or nightcap after dinner elsewhere. The patio with string lights and all does seem cute for a quiet evening.

We came in and immediately someone came over and was eager to walk us through the process and made a handful of recommendations especially when it came to the wine. The gentleman whose name I didn't get unfortunately, was extremely kind and helpful, the service here was amazing and we ended up loving the wine he recommended us. The food was also great we ordered the Caesar Fries, the Magie Plate which came with the bread, strawberry spread and some olives and pickles for the meats, we also got the Hot Dog and everything we had was really good. The ambiance is very nice it's a cozy little hole in the wall that you would definitely miss driving by it. Outside patio area had a lot of seating and as well as couches. Everything was great and I am now hooked on a wine thanks to the recommendation by the team here!

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

From the second you pull up the driveway, you are greeted by rolling rows of vines and an atmosphere that instantly makes you drop your shoulders and relax. It completely lives up to its name--the vibe is effortlessly mellow, sophisticated, and incredibly welcoming. Here is why this place has officially become my absolute favorite spot: 1. The Wine & Food Pairings are Masterful The culinary team here clearly works hand-in-hand with the winemakers, because the pairings are flawless. We started with a crisp, beautifully balanced white blend paired with an artisanal charcuterie board featuring locally sourced cheeses and a phenomenal house-made fig jam. For the main course, the slow-braised short rib literally melted off the bone, and when paired with their estate estate Syrah, it was pure magic. Every bite was an absolute home run. 2. Breathtaking Atmosphere & Ambiance The design of the restaurant strikes the perfect balance between rustic vineyard charm and modern elegance. We sat out on the covered patio, which offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the vineyard. As the sun began to set, they lit the fire pits and turned on string lights, creating an incredibly romantic, warm glow across the entire space. It's the kind of environment where you just want to linger for hours over dessert and another bottle. 3. World-Class Hospitality What truly elevates Mellow Grapes is the service. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable without an ounce of pretentiousness. They walked us through the tasting notes of each wine, shared the history of the vineyard, and gave us brilliant recommendations based on our personal palates. The pace of the meal was perfect--we never felt rushed, yet we were perfectly looked after the entire evening. The Verdict Mellow Grapes is an absolute gem. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a perfect date night, or just want to treat yourself to an exquisite meal and fantastic wine, this place delivers on every front. The passion behind the food, the wine, and the hospitality is evident in every single detail. I'm already counting down the days until my next visit. Cheers to the team for creating such a spectacular experience!

I saw a table polishing glasses and glasses of wines and then came the surprise - their selections! Their selections were smaller than expected but thoughtfully chosen. We asked Phillip for his recommendations, along the lines of red & bold. He gladly pointed us to a wine that was not on the menu. It seems they offer a menu selection and off-menu/rotating selection from unique wine regions. We had a red blend from China (yes that's correct, it surprised me equally).
