Stone crab
Roy B.

Arriving a few minutes before our ressie, we were seated immediately and brought water and drinks. Lucky for us, one of our party was really missing the traditional thanksgiving dinner and they had a special for the evening to solve that immediate hankering crisis. Whew... Also lucky for us, we were so pleased to have Nya as our server/ a true delight and an asset to this restaurant ( or any other, IMHO ). Friendly and cheerful, she was such a pleasure to have checking in on us making sure we had an excellent experience. Lobster salad was a hit and the flavors of every dish we tried were delicious. The portion size, however, was lacking. I ordered the stone crab claws and they were on the smaller size. The burger I had was good as well but barely bigger than a slider you might get somewhere else. To sum it up, bigger prices because you're in a resort but much smaller portions than you might expect. Mrs Me really loved the grouper ceviche she ordered and the plantain chips made it stand out. My daughter wanted steamed broccoli but had to resort to a sliced avocado instead. If it weren't for the excellent service and the really relaxing atmosphere of eating right along the beach, it would've been a lesser meal. As you see from the pictures, the restaurant is beautiful and the fact that you're on key largo makes up for a lot.

This was on the of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I was looking for a restaurant that served seafood and had scenic views of the sunset; then, I found this place that was conveniently located near where I was staying, as well. Everything here was incredible - the service, the food, the ambiance, the views. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a great place for outdoor dining and looking for very fresh seafood. I can't wait to come back to this place and try more of their food options.

Not many options for vegetarians BUT it's a cute vibe inside, very restaurant on the water vibe and decorated well. We were here on a mini honeymoon and the staff was super nice and brought out delicious strawberry crème brulee. The appetizer of mini biscuits with pineapple butter and guava jam were delicious

We had such a special anniversary dinner here. The views are unbeatable, which would be reason enough alone to come here, but the food is also really good. Take advantage of the ability to add a lobster tail to your entree--you won't regret it! The cocktails and especially their unique vessels are also a highlight. Definitely stop by if you're in key largo!

Can't quite give this place a full review. Came here for a late lunch and was surprised that they only had a happy hour menu, so did not get to fully try the food. However, the view and location of this place was great! Looking forward to trying it again, outside of this happy hour menu time.

A great spot by the water to grab a bite and watch the sun. The food was great and they let us hang a little late. Good service and views. Def worth it.

We enjoyed a lovely late lunch and it was nearly perfect! The staff was pleasant and welcoming, the food was very good (we enjoyed the ceviche, an appetizer of pita and a smoked mahi dip, hamburgers, and mahi tacos). Dishes are under $30 atmosphere is perfection! On the waterfront outdoors. Reservation is required with a credit card through OpenTable. Shout out to Guna and Lazar for their great service!

Amazing key lime pie.

3/2025. We ate here around 5:30 pm. Must have reservations. We were quickly seated. Our waitress was very good. For appetizer we had the fish dip. Some of the best fish dip we have had. For our meal we had peel and eat shrimp and Caesar salad and they were both good. My wife and I just wasn't hungry and after tasting the fish dip we was sad we wasn't hungry. If the fish dip was any indication of how good the food was, It would have been delicious, but we just were not hungry. We also ordered their made in house key lime pie and it was very delicious, actually amazing. Again our waitress was very very good. We ate next to the railing, the restaurant is on the water with an awesome view.

Christy was amazing made the whole experience perfect she was very professional and attentive the view was amazing and the food was delicious will definitely be visiting again

Excellent food and service. Beautiful setting. Go after sunset because it is very hot this time of year.

We enjoyed a lovely group dinner last week at Sol by the Sea. Compliments to chef Ricardo Burke for taking excellent care of our group, including those with a gluten-free allergy, Chef Burke came out to explain what options were safe to eat. The Caesar salad sans croutons and the mahi mahi were excellent. Chef Burke reappeared four times to check how we were doing - going above and beyond the call of duty. It's apparent the staff at Playa Largo Resort is well trained. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and had a positive attitude, making for a terrific college reunion.

A beautiful view and the drinks are delightful!

A great restaurant and a very helpful staff making an adjustment to a dish for our lunch. The service was excellent and the view was beautiful.

Food was giving chain restaurant vibes. It's a shame it's the only place at the hotel for dinner.

We were seated immediately, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking a beautiful channel with boats constantly coming and going. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries, served on a coconut bun, and it was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Everything came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly fast. You could tell the food was made to order. The staff was genuinely friendly and never made us feel rushed, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the view. The outdoor seating was fantastic and added so much to the experience. The restaurant is a little tucked away and can be easy to miss, but don't let that stop you--it is absolutely worth finding. We spent about $54 for two people, and considering the quality of the food, generous portions, service, and atmosphere, it was worth every penny. Casual. Comfy atmosphere. Friendly staff…read more We started with the Conch House sampler and swapped out the jalapeños for more shrimp and fritters. The sampler comes with two conch fritters, two coconut shrimp, two bacon wrapped items (which we replaced), cracked conch, and lobster and conch ceviche. I have to say this while it's fresh in my mind. The moment I had the lobster and shrimp ceviche, I got chills. Just an incredible burst of flavor. Tiny bit of heat at the end but nothing overwhelming. Just really, really good. The conch fritters are solid too. Chewy, not over breaded, and served with two sauces. One is sweet and one is more of a mayo style. There's also something that eats like a conch curry puff situation. I liked the cracked conch better personally, but both are worth trying. The coconut shrimp is also really good. The sampler also comes with tortilla chips on the side. The lobster bisque is delicious. Great flavor with little chunks of what I'm pretty sure is lobster throughout. Nothing more to add really. It's just good. The mahi and avocado dish has a nice seared taste to it. Not flame broiled exactly, but that kind of grilled sear that you want on fish. The pico de gallo is similar to what came with the ceviche, and it works really well here. All in at $75.

The restaurant is reasonably sized and tastefully, but simply, designed. The menu is concise, and you can always ask for something that isn't on it, and they will do their best to accommodate you. Lunch specials can fill you up without breaking the bank. Griot, or fried pig chunks, is their most well-known and traditional food. It's flavorful and a little oily, but you can add some pikliz, our Haitian chili sauce, and it will absorb it all, especially when served with rice, salad, and fried bananas or tostones. You can even switch up the sides.

Not sure if it's just a rough neighborhood, but we were clearly the first eat-in clients of the afternoon/evening. The hostess said they could accommodate our group of 7 and so we did end up staying, but our group had to do all the rearranging of tables, high chairs, and table wipe downs which was strange. Overall the service was just OK. One of our dishes didn't come out with the others which was unfortunate as everyone was done eating when it finally did come out. One nice thing was they prepared small plates of fries and ketchup for our youngest boys who weren't interested in the Caribbean fare offered. The food and presentation was nice, but seemed to be very overcooked and dry. Perhaps just an off-night for the staff. I was encouraged to see several takeout orders being picked up so seems like they're a local favorite.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a sunset cruise, and unfortunately it didn't live up to the experiences we've always had here. The conch fritters, which are usually a must-order for us, were mostly filler and lacked the flavor we've come to expect. The mahi tacos were equally disappointing, each taco had only a tiny piece of fish, the tortillas were stale and crumbly, and they were overloaded with salsa, causing them to fall apart. Our server was prompt and attentive, but the overall atmosphere felt rushed. We understand it's the middle of summer and the heat can make for long days, but one of the things we've always appreciated here was the warm, friendly hospitality.
