Nice fresh chips. Bean dip and salsa. Overly salted dish so much so I couldn't eat it. Maybe the chef had a bad night. First time here and had high expectations. Stopped in try try a local Mexican restaurant for lunch. Overall the service was good but at times a bit slow. Your standard fare was available. We tried the following: Been burrito plate - was alright in it's taste, a decent sized burrito with beans and rice as the side Chile rellenos - they were pretty good with standard sides and a good amount of cheese on top. Chicken taco salad - was good amount of chicken and toppings and a fresh shell. Chorizo queso - a good combination/balance of chorizo and cheese Overall a decent local place with balance of cost to portion size. read more

We saw this restaurant searching on Google Maps, and decided to try it. It is off the main roads. Saturday Afternoon at 4:30. We got seated right away, but the tables filled up right after we got seated. What bright folk artistry everywhere. They served thick corn chips right away, with salsa and refried pinto bean dips. I love pintos. Wife got the strawberry margarita and I ordered the house margarita. Very flavorful. Wife ordered sizzling parrillada and I ordered steak enchiladas. What huge plates. But so good I nearly ate all my order, but the wife ate less than half. The marinated steak in the enchilada was so pleasingly tasty. My wife loved all the separate servings on her plate. The fried onions were intriguing and delicious. I highly recommend this place. But space is limited. read more

Decent atmosphere, mostly clean, huge portions and pretty good service. The atmosphere is typical American Mexican decore...could be updated but who cares. Lunch can get a little hectic so may not be spotless, but again who cares. It's not pretentious...so it is what it is! Service has always seen outstanding...even a little playful. I truly appreciate the smiles. Now food portions are large...so think twice before ordering an appetizer or eating any of the chips. Found that out the hard way. The entry area was kind of a cluster when we entered. The ambiance was about what youd expect from a mexican restaurant right before friday night rush. Margaritas were strong, but good! We visit 2 to 3 times per month. Great menu selection, with our favs of Carnitas de res, Enchiladas de Mexico, Camaronas castenios . The appetizer plate - Jalisco Sampler - easily feeds two. We have had excellent service with a rare exception (when the Friday night crush occurred). Definitely a family-style experience. When birthday parties celebrate there, owners typically provide a serenade and shot of tequila (if of proper age of course!). Went there for Father's Day to take my dad out for a well deserved meal. The service SUCKED! We had to ask servers 5 times for a high chair/booster seat. We waited 20 minutes for waters. The food SUCKED! We ordered two bowls of posole. It didn't have much broth. It's not made fresh either. Everyone's food didn't come out at the same time. So we waited 15 minutes for a kids enchilada meal, while every one else at the table was eating. The posole wasn't served with any of the normal condiments, no lime, lettuce, oregano, cilantro, and radish. We had to ask 5 times. When we got the posole we asked for more broth cause it was dry, they said no they had to defrost it. Everything about this place SUCKED. And I'm so sorry that my father had to spend his holiday at this crap establishment. There was 7 of us. We only bought two pitchers of beer along with our food and our bill was $250 for the worst crap service I've ever had! read more

Meet up here with 4 other ladies for Tacos Tuesday. It was my first time here, oh my this place is bustling, huge menu with selections that is to Die for. Our server was so patients with us as we are too busy talking, Our table ordered margaritas ( pstttt they have 7 different ones) . I was the Boring one with iced tea lol. I normally don't leave reviews until it's a pattern. Sol De used to my favorite Mexican stop but the last 3 visits have been very sub par. The margaritas don't taste like they have alcohol and the food flavor has also dropped. The chicken and steak burritos have been dry and unflavored. Won't be coming back for a while now. read more

I've been there 4 times now, each time is better than the last. As a matter of fact, I'm having dinner there tonight! First off, the place is really big, it looks very unassuming from the front entrance. Once you walk in, it goes allllll the way back to a fancy, well lit bar. The decor is fantastic, and very fitting for the type of restaurant it is. It is unbelievably clean as well. As you can tell, cleanliness is a huge thing with me and restaurants.. Anyway, about the food! Food is fantastic, the portions are soooooo big! And it's very affordable, most entrees range from 12.99-20.00, now considering the outstanding quality of the food, and the large, large portions makes it "hands down" most bang for your buck, undisputed! We drive a little extra to visit Sol De Jalisco. They're on the east edge of Windsor - but very easy to find. They offer all of the standard Mexican cuisine options, but the flavor is just better. They will customize any dish to your liking. If you want beans instead of rice - if you want salad instead of beans - if you want some extra extra spicy.... OMG, be prepared, because your wish is about to come true! Irma has been our server on a few occasions, and it's a big time bonus for you if she's your waitress. A very sweet lady who helps you make great choices when you just aren't sure what to have. Tell her what things you like, and she'll help you find the right option! Try the Sol Marg. Irma recommended it, and she nailed it.... just like when she brought a small dish of habanero pepper sauce to the table when I told her how I really liked spice. Just ok. Service was equally ok. We were seated and it took awhile before we saw anyone. When we needed a bit more time to look at the menu, it took quite awhile for our server to return. Not sure if they were short staffed or what, as it was lunch time, but not overly busy. The service at the front of house seemed very impatient and short with customers, so really not sure what was going on here. The adults were brought food before the children in our party, which seemed a little backwards as it usually takes the kiddos a bit longer to eat. The food itself was nothing unique and lacked flavor that I've had elsewhere, though the chips and salsa were nice. In conclusion: I've tried it and was incredibly underwhelmed. When the female server came to the table we asked if we could have 3 separate checks & would order by family. She insisted it had to be on one check & we could figure it out. She took our drink order then another female server, who was great, came back to take our food order. This server was friendly & took our food order without writing a thing down. It was impressive since there were 12 of us. The first server started delivering plates & by delivering she was literally tossing the plates on the table without telling us what was what. We had to carry hot plates to our kids table because she just tossed everything on the adult table. She never brought silverware or napkins. I ended up getting those on my own at the front. At 8:30 we asked if we could order dessert for our kids and she looked at her watch before begrudgingly saying ok. Mind you, they close at 9! She never asked if the food was correct, which two meals weren't. From what I've heard, this waitress has a reputation for being flat out rude! There are a lot of Mexican restaurants to choose from where the service is far superior! This waitress is going to run this restaurant into the ground. Someone needs to remind her that she is in the hospitality industry! We won't be back. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Sol De Jalisco is conveniently located near the Poudre River Trail; Windsor to Greeley. We were greeted and seated upon entering the restaurant even thought they were busy. Fresh corn chips and tasty (medium) salsa was put on the table while we waited for our order to arrive. I had the Carnitas De Res. Strips of marinated meat fully cooked yet tender. It was accompanied with three tortillas, rice, beans, guacamole, cooked onions and peppers. Very satisfying. Frankly, I was a glutton; the food tasted that good. Shared a house cadillac margarita, which was smooth and reasonably priced. The decor is very vibrant and festive. Very much enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. To conclude. The dinning area was very clean and so were the bathrooms. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. All I have to say is WOW. I mean really, wow, this place is the best Mexican I have ever had. Which I feel like I can say considering the fact that I am married to one. We came in with a large group and not only did we have excellent service, but the owner stopped by just to make sure that everything was going well. I don't even know where to start when it comes to the food. The chips were warm and perfectly crispy, the guacamole was perfection, all of the meats were melt in your mouth delicious and their tortillas....I literally almost fell off my chair they were so good. Unfortunately I was super disappointed. We were there Friday evening for dinner. The server seemed super rushed and not interested in being there. He asked what we wanted to order like 2 minutes after we sat down. We didn't even have time to look at the menu. But the real clenched was he just look out the window and wouldn't even make eye contact. Super weird. I ordered the steak salad and my husband ordered a burrito. My salad was terrible. Little bits of shredded lettuce, a few tomato's and about a tsp of guacamole thrown on a plate with pieces of steak that were really rubbery with absolutely no flavor what so ever. My husband said his burrito was decent. I really should have just sent my salad back as I just picked at it. Then when we're we're almost finished our server sat at the table across from us with 2 other servers and just chatted with each other for quit some time and never noticing that our drinks were empty. When we want to have a huge, delicious plate of truly tasty Mexican food we come here. My husband had the Steak Tampiquena and I had the Carne Asada. Both were delicious. The plates are huge but the prices aren't. We also enjoyed the orange margaritas. I wish we were going there tonight. read more
