I was very happy with the selection the produce and the deli meats. They also had a large selection of packaged lunch meats and cheeses. The time it saved going to St. George's was worth paying a lot more than Costco or Superstores. If your in Springdale for a few day, we were here for 5, this is a must go to place! Great soups by the pint, we got breakfasts pastry quiches every morning for $3.99, muffins, yogurts, energy bites. Its like the whole foods from our area in NC. Best grocery store in town!!! read more

Stopped here on a tip from the owners of the B&B we were staying at. Wish I had stopped sooner. They have fresh meals you can take on the go, made to order breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with all the typical things you'd look for in a supermarket. Stop here! Well worth the $$$. read more

Wonderful market with everything you need and probably more than you need! Items can be pricey, but if that's a problem shop before you get to town. The market offers many local or artisan brands which is refreshing (but you will pay more). They also have tons of camping necessities or last-minute things you might need like water shoes for The Narrows or sandals for hanging out at camp or the pool. The most expensive grocery store I have ever been to, and I live in a tourist rural mountain town in Southern California, where the prices are not this outrageous. A 24 pack of water was $11.00 (for example, when the same pack is $2.99 where I live). I'm thankful a grocery store is available for any emergencies, but you pay for it. read more

Before you go a national park, hiking or walking or doing any type of outdoor activity, make sure you PACK and pack well. Pack well as in get your stuff (food and supplies) ready so when you need something you don't need to stop by a market only to get ripped off. Now I understand that the overhead cost to run this market is probably really high, but do the foods (particularly fruit) need to be that high that it clearly is price gouging? I understand the need to mark up beer 6x the normal price because you should always bring your own on a road trip if you plan on camping out or hanging out. But to mark up fresh fruit like apples and grapes and whatnot seems a bit like the banker in monopoly. Doesn't seem too nice. I know we're not in California and fresh fruit could be quite the commodity but I'm sure getting a truckload of things to run a market could be more cost efficient than what they're portraying. Which isn't nice! I'm not paying $6 for a pineapple. I did buy their banana bread for breakfast since we were going to be out and about and needed the sugar. That was really good, and not too pricey since it was made in-house. I also picked up a small pint of milk and some hot cocoa sachets because what better way to unwind from the cold day than some Land o Lakes raspberry hot chocolate. It was fabulous! read more

WOW, this is an expensive grocery market! Pros: -Close to all of the hotels in Springdale. -Good quality food. -Decent selection for being so small. -Lots of health foods, if you are into that. Cons: -Extremely expensive. -Lots of weird health food, sometimes hard to just find something "normal" in some of the sections. We visited this market during out last stay in town. We had a kitchenette in our condo and didn't have room in our overpacked car to bring our own groceries from home. Bummer. This was the only grocery market in the town, so this is where we went. We were just staying for a 3 days and only making our breakfasts and snacks during the day, yet we spent about what we spend for a whole week at home. No joke! Here's a few examples of sky high prices: one pound of turkey breast was $11, a loaf of regular bread was $6, a pack of cheese was $7!!! I get the fact that this is the only grocery in Springdale, but WOWZERS! The towns of Hurricane and even St. George aren't that far away to warrant such crazy prices! If we had know the prices before going in, we would have just drove 15 minutes to Hurricane to do our grocery shopping. read more

Sol Foods has a nice selection of goods in the small resort town of Springdale that also had high quality and organic products. A few items were reasonably priced (especially sale items), but most things had a 30% markup. I wouldn't want to shop here all the time, but for a trip to Zion they had what we needed (and what we wanted). They also have a decent selection of prepared foods and a nice outdoor seating area that is shaded, so it's a decent lunch alternative. Perhaps the best part was how friendly all of the cashiers were. read more

The Challenge: Get into Zion at 7 pm, late for a bachelorette party for a park ranger girlfriend getting married in a two days. Don't want to show up empty handed. Mission Accomplished: Sol Foods, open and on the way into the park where the party was. Secured beer, snacks, and necessary toiletries over 3 oz that we couldn't bring on the f*cking plane b/c of stupid-ass security regs. Arrived at party armed with our humble but adequate supplies and proceeded to see how female park rangers get down (they're crazy, I assure you--too much fresh air?). Bonus Features: The cute boy at the register, whom was such a tender age that I could have borne him from my own loins, could tell that we were from out of town and asked if the bachelorette we were going to celebrate was as hot as us! "I am so going here every day," I'm thinking! Next day I go back and he keeps not charging me for the Zion shot glass and other gifts that I'd chosen for folks at home, which he called, "The pretty girl discount." Now I'm almost blushing (almost, at my age I can't buy a blush, please). What I really wanted to do was up the ante and maybe go buy some tampons or yeast cream and see if I get the pretty girl discount then. But I didn't. read more

The effect of supply and demand at its works. I really wanted to give this place a one star, but I thought about everything and I think it deserves 2 stars at most. The store is conveniently located right outside of the West entrance to Zion. They have their own parking structure, which is nice. Now to the food, they've got plenty of frozen, canned, and packaged items, however, the prices were insane! I understand overhead costs for shipping items to a location like this must be expensive so I expect to pay more, but the prices were about 4x the amount you would pay at a Raley's or Safeway. The bananas were not brown or completely green, so I give them credit for that, but most of the apples were very soft. It took me and my boyfriend about 4 minutes to find two apples that were firm and of good color. What really upset me was the burrito my boyfriend picked out. It was the only burrito left in the refrigerator and was on sale because it was made 2 days ago. All I can say is, if a grocery store offers discounted items because they are old, they should at least be edible. The burrito emitted potent odors as soon as we unwrapped it and had an awful sour smell. I didn't take my chances at all. read more

Terrible customer service. Let me preface that I've never returned any food to a grocery store in my life. I purchased avocado dip and some chips. The dip was certifiably disgusting. Didn't even taste like avocado. After looking at the ingredients, avocado was the 4 ingredient. There was more oil and water in the dip (individually) than avocado. So I returned to the the store to ask for an exchange (I found real avocado dip in another part of the store for $0.20 more). A pretty reasonable request if you ask me. The customer service lady and store manager said she couldn't return the item...refused to listen. The dip even says "guaranteed delicious". After going back and forth with her all she could say was "I'm sorry, our policy is we can't return any items". I guess I'm sorry too. Sorry I spent at least $50 at your store in the past 2 days. Sorry I won't ever go there again. Sorry I can't ever recommend it to anyone I know. But I'm not sorry that I will be purchasing my groceries before I get to Springdale. What a waste. Similar to a Whole Foods in the gourmet selection and price point. There's only one more little market down the road and it's nearest the Zion NPS entrance so if you see this one first, godspeed. Prices are high, it's a small town and filled with tourists so they know you're gonna pay. But some of the selections are high quality, while others are not. I think a pack of generic paper plates was almost $4 when you can get the same kind at the Dollar Tree. I suggest bringing in your own groceries and coming here for the items that maybe need refrigerating or for the really good quality cheeses and meats they offer because that's solid! We bought some really great stuffed sausages that were no Farmer John status if you know what I mean. They do offer the necessities and a range of items but at a bit of a high markup. But if you need it, they will have it. They either don't offer bags or they charge for them BUT they do give away the boxes that their goods are shipped in so you can take your items that way if you didn't bring shopping bags with you. I thought this was a great idea! The service was friendly and courteous, as was everyone in this little town. read more

This place is wack! We ordered a sandwich, which they screwed up. Any modifications will render additional charges. Got the last bit of soup, which was a bit more than a small, but really wasn't a large took it up front and the clerk was insistent on charging us for a large. What!? Luckily someone else was there and told the clerk to ring the soup up as a small so they wouldn't have to toss it. All these people complaining about price, get a clue. In a resort town?? of course it's going to be premium pricing. As for me, got an amazing, tasty, focaccia bread with thick cuts of tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto, a small bowl of homemade (tasting) hearty chili, both from the from the deli counter with a 20oz Dr. Pepper for $13.57. Plus I grabbed some fresh basil off the plants growing in herb garden. If I got this same thing in one of the cafes down the street, would have probably cost more and the service at the deli counter was friendly. Salad bar was full of variety and looked fresh. This place reminds me of my favorite local market. Ate on their beautiful and charming patio in front. Do yourself a favor and do the same as me. read more

This is the most overpriced supermarket in the area. It's on the main strip of Springdale, so it's convenient, but it makes MUCH more sense to drive to Hurricane and shop there (try the Walmart if you want to find the best prices). You'll pay over double the MSRP for a lot of standard items. That said, Sol Foods has a great selection of organic, sustainable and vegetarian/vegan products, so if that's your priority, this is the place to go. As for me, I can't stand the thought of paying $6 for a loaf of Wonderbread or $8 for a 2L carton of generic, from-concentrate OJ. Sorry! read more

If 7-11, Whole Foods, and Walgreens had a baby, it would be Sol Foods. Most anything you need, you can find here. It is not a huge store. Their deli has many options. Their salad bar has several healthy choices and you pay by the pound. There are pre-made sandwiches and salad options as well, if you are in a hurry. There is parking underground and restrooms outside the store. A good stop while you are in Springdale. read more

The selection is very limited. If you eat organic, don't expect to find much here. Also, we had just spent $150.00 in here. Bought steaks and dinner to cook on the grill at our hotel. Got back to our hotel and the sour cream wasn't there. My husband went back after we ate (had to have potatoes without sour cream!) to get a refund or replacement and they wouldn't give it to him. They accused him of losing it since the guy who rang us up wasn't there anymore and they couldn't check. If this was whole foods or wegmans there would be a refund- no questions asked. Yes all the prices are a bit inflated (actually still fairly reasonable), but what do you expect when this market is located less than a mile away from Zion National Park? They carry all the essentials one might need for a full day (or night) out in the wild. J and I actually preferred getting all our meals (except breakfast, which was provided by our hotel, the Quality Inn) here rather than out at a resto. This may have to do with the fact that we visited Zion in Jan and practically ALL of the restaurants were closed for the season. Bonus points for being open until 10pm when everything else shut down by 7pm. read more

We got a beef tenderloin, for a relatively decent price. It was far cheaper than eating out for dinner. They had everything that you'd need to make a day in the park. Great selection of specialty items. I was even able to find a pack of vegan jerky. I bought: a 6 oz tiny coconut water, a single serving bag of chips, a single serving vegan jerky. My bill was $10 The price points here are insane!!! You could save money buying a cooler and packing it full of whatever you need. I asked for a place to get power bars but never would have guessed there's a full on market 5 minutes from the park, let alone one with boutique items. The place isn't huge so don't expect to find everything but they've got what you really need for a couple days of staying local plus energy for day trips into the park. The deli in the back makes a pretty killer sandwich, the baked goods they have upfront are worth getting seconds of and while they sell tons of healthy / natural food, you'll find your regular soda's and stuff too (so you don't have to go to two places). Now to be fair, they're positioned more as a niche "healthy" place than a run of the mill grocery store, so you will pay for it at checkout. But unless you want to drive 30 minutes back to walmart, what do you expect? Restrooms upfront, seating infront, loads of parking under the store. read more

We stopped in this store to get a few things while we were staying at a hotel for the Zion Half Marathon. As people mentioned some of the prices were high but I think that's pretty much to be expected for a grocery store in a resort type area. I was just happy to have some snack food that i didn't have to buy out of the hotel vending machine. My husband walked around drooling over all the bikes they had displayed. I think he'd go back just to hang out with them. read more
