We stopped in this store to get a few things while we were staying at a hotel for the Zion Half Marathon. As people mentioned some of the prices were high but I think that's pretty much to be expected for a grocery store in a resort type area. I was just happy to have some snack food that i didn't have to buy out of the hotel vending machine. My husband walked around drooling over all the bikes they had displayed. Stopped in to acquire a quick lunch before crossing through Zion National Park with my vegetarian daughter. It's a very well stocked store; if I were staying in the area, I'd want to know about it! Yes, the prices are very high for some items. ($6 a bag for Milano's?!?!). BUT lots of things are actually reasonably priced, like fresh fruit. And, they will make you a sandwich at 8am to take on a hike and it's only about $7. Super convenient! read more

I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say this place is 5x the price of a normal market. I've found their prices to be completely reasonable, especially considering their location. They aren't *cheap*.. but they're a quality market too so that's to be expected. I'd put their prices about the same as Raley's or maybe Von's/Safeway. That said I got a very large head of broccoli and 2 nice vine ripe tomatoes for $1.55 the other day, which I consider to be a great price. Today we got half an herb roasted chicken (delicious, btw!) and a day old sandwich for $5-something. I guess if you go in with specific items in mind then it could be pricey, but if you just go in and buy what's cheap - they do have great deals! Since we got off so cheap on the aforementioned stuff we got some good cheese too, they have a great selection. The fruits, veggies, meats and cheeses remind me of a trader joe's selection for reference. All in all, if you're visiting the park and want to get by cheap without eating garbage this is the place to do it! Excellent market filled with practical necessities, a top notch deli, drinks and picnic goods. The associated hardware store next door has well priced camping gear (not Walmart cheap but great locally), tools, and toys. We stopped at the market for picnic supplies we could take on hikes. Yeah, it's the only place where you can buy food/groceries that's literally a stone's throw from Zion Park, but you gotta expect that -- it's in such a remote place. For the store itself, it's clean, has lots of variety, essentially has everything you might need. read more

This wasn't a cheap grocery store, but we were able to get some really good peppered turkey and other good sandwich ingredients for hike the next day even though we walked in around 9pm. The guy at the deli counter was also super helpful with recommendations about where to eat and what beer they might have on tap. read more

Not bad. Not great, either, but it's walking distance from the front gate of Zion and there were thunderstorms all over the place, so we hit up the first place that served food. I ordered a Grilled chicken pita. It was all right. At first I thought the chicken was mysteriously bitter. Then I realized that it had been grilled. I found it hard to taste the chicken because it had been charred pretty good, and the bitter bits had found their way into the rest of my gyro. Fortunately, the tzatziki sauce--fairly ordinary--helped cover it up. The turkey and cheese sandwich my wife had was a little better. The bread (and pita) were decent. Throw in the "close-to-the-park" premium of about 25%, and you're probably better off walking further down Route 9 for a bite. Assuming the flash flooding and lightning lighten up. :-D read more

This grocery had a great selection and many organic or otherwise responsible products. The prices were certainly not cheap but nothing I would consider (at least by NYC standards) to be crazy. If I could give it 0 stars I would. This was the worst most overpriced grocery store I have ever been too. I understand that due to the location prices would be higher but $10.50 for some Oreos !!!!?? Never again. Came here on a late, cold night. They carry a ton of vegan/vegetarian-friendly foods but that are not totally helpful if you're staying in a place with a microwave and nothing else. We drove 30 min to WalMart because I needed a jacket... snacks just came in second. This market has mugs! So, buy tea. Not convinced more than one or like, .5 people work here. read more

This store has everything you could want, meat, produce dry goods even a salad bar and fresh made sandwiches. Prices are a little high but look at the location. The other good thing is it is far enough from the line into the park. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and talkative. One down side is in the state no wine at anything other then a state ran liquor store. read more

Absolutely incredible selection I wish I had a grocer like this near my house!!! It literally has everything you want it's like as if they took the selections I would choose from the three closest grocery stores to me and took out all the stuff I wouldn't want and just got to the point!! I do agree that since it is right next to Zion it will not be Walmart-cheap priced but... can we at least get decent quality stuff at least. Right in a middle of the bread shelf there was a bag of bread with a huge mold spot on it! Do they have anybody checking?! I pay pretty penny at Whole Foods but at least I'm getting quality stuff. We got some sliced meats from the deli counter to make sandwiches for our hike next morning. Roast beef was bad... They're the only game in town. They know it, you know it. That being said, most things aren't marked up horribly high. Having Sol Foods there is better than not at all. Considering that many restaurants will charge $15+ a person without a drink, it's easy to still save some money by buying from Sol Foods. Went there a couple of days while we were in Zion. Staff was always friendly and the store was clean. Parking was a bit of a pain to get to, as it's underground behind the store. read more

Great little market! This place had more than what I was looking for and the prices were fair. I'd recommend people check in here if they need drinks for their hike or food to take on a picnic. There are lots of choices in the canyon but everything here smelt delicious and there were lots of drinks to choose from as well. There was interesting health food stuff and also just normal deli sandwiches so it kind of gets both crowds covered. I liked that I could buy some fresh spring rolls here and take them to go. That seemed a great option for a hiking snack that didn't take forever to obtain. Friendly service though and quick in and out. Very convenient and clean. read more

Great market to get your goodies but it can be expensive on certain items but extremely convenient. Stopped by twice in the evening and they have a lot of items to choose from. Staff is polite and accommodating in any way. Parking is plenty under the market and lit up for safety. First stop I picked up a sandwich and some chips plus fruit and drinks. We were staying outside the east side of Zion for 4 days at the Zion Mountain Ranch (see my review for them as well) and Sol Foods was our go-to for meals and groceries. There's not much out where we were, so whenever we were in Zion or Springdale, we made it a point to stock up here for dinner that night, snacks, and/or breakfast the next day if we knew we were going to be up early. We brought sandwiches with us our trek through the Narrows and they were awesome by the time we needed them. Although we got the usual groceries here (snacks, water, etc.) we often took advantage of the pre-made sandwiches, wraps, and dinner plates that are prepared daily on the premises. A few times as well we bought some things from the service deli (the empanadas and chicken quesadilla warmed up well in our room's microwave and were delicious). Everything is a little pricey, but that is to be expected. Along with Zion Adventure Co., when we're back in Zion in the future, Sol Foods will be a definite stop yet again. read more

The market is cute and quiant and we stopped by here to get coffee to go as a recommendation by a nearby restaurant who's espeesso machine wasn't working that day. It was cute and the front cashier was nice. I saw they had dehydrated camping food for $5ish dollars which I thought was better than other places. This place does have slightly pricer products but it's a market in a tourist area for convenience so what do you expect. Minus 2 stars because I went to the deli to get coffee and all I said was "hi excuse me" and I was greeted with a rude and passive aggressive worker. I asked about the menu and he looked me dead in the eye and then walked away mumbling. I was not rude and didn't ask crazy questions. People underestimate customer service. It was that rude reaction that made me not want to get coffee here anymore. Ironically enough he was only nice when we said we were leaving. So when at the park, as others have indicated this is the only grocery in town. Makes these reviews somewhat pointless right? Only hope is that the ownership pays attention. Here goes, your deli staff needs a makeover. The young man that helped us was rude and behaved as though he was bothered by our intrusion. Another older man behinds the counter was speaking rudely to another (female) employee. Cashier was friendly, but disorganized. Didn't have a till? Sol foods has great inventory for the Zion visitors. Much of the food is ready to eat and perfect if you are staying in the local hotels. If your interested in architecture this store has a natural outside appearance and matches the local area well. Inside it has modern lighting and all the mechanicals are visible near the ceiling installed in an eco friendly style. Look for the cookies at the checkout counter (very good) and bring your own bags. read more

I personally love grocery stores and markets. This place was so fun to walk through and they have pretty much anything and everything you could need for your stay at Zion. They had pre-made meal options, a deli area, bakery, supplies, medications. My only big complaint is the price, which makes sense given the location but definitely be prepared to pay significantly more for certain items here than you would at a regular grocery store. read more

Very nice and some what expensive market within walking distance from the park. After a short hike to the emerald pools my brother and I went to the market and bought some 3.2 beer and was very surprised on how clean and well stocked the little market was. In short nice little market!!! read more

Well, I agree that prices are 2 times or more expensive than Walmart or Costco. However if you are willing to just shop for what is on sale or clearance you can eat. It saves a long drive. Keep an eye on the register though; we bought Hunts Traditional Pasta Sauce, on clearance for $1.29, but it rung up $2.79, we had the same thing happen last week, and had the same poor checkout person! He held the line up and went back twice, even after I reminded him we had the se issue last week. He apologized. Again. The hardware store is much better in pricing, and is very well equipped. Overall I don't mind them making a few dollars extra on my purchase. I appreciate that it is here, and has some high quality items. read more

I mean, yeah... The prices were high. But you're in a small tourist town in the middle of no where. I didn't expect the prices to be cheap? The grocery store is well stocked with a variety of items. We just stopped in to refill on some snack items and buy more band-aids. The salad bar looked tasty and they had a decent amount of to-go food items. For what it was, I appreciated Sol Food. This is the only game in town for groceries, so you don't really have much choice. It is pretty well stocked, at least for any regular groceries that you would need. Service was fine. Be prepared to pay a premium. I was expecting it to be expensive, but was taken aback when the granola I usually buy for $3 was marked at $10! If you need a lot of groceries would recommend buying them before you get to town. Bring a bag if you can. Otherwise you will pay 5 cents for a bag or can get a free box. read more
