We happened upon this family-friendly and slightly kitschy roadside attraction upon leaving Zion National Park. The main space is a gift shop with all sorts of souvenirs to buy. There is also an ice cream shop offering additional food options, petting zoo, and old west building structures outside (for a cost). What I found most interesting was the opportunity to crack a geode (various sizes/prices) with the most popular size being only $13. We had a lot of fun at this stop so it's worth it just for a browse. read more

Just off the highway, you'll see some brightly colored buildings that just beg to visited...and that's just what I did! You'll find your share of souvenirs and trinkets-many of them boasting native or indigenous heritage. I'm not sure how authentic they are, or if they are properly representing the local tribes, so I didn't buy anything. I would love to support a local tribe, but when I see all white people running the store, I'm skeptical. Aside from that, there's a petting zoo and ice cream-this place just screams "kid friendly" and is likely a parent's reprieve from the "are we there yet" question. read more

This is a super random roadside attraction out near Zion National Park. My friend and I drove by it, looked at each other, and she announced, "I'm turning around, aren't I?" It was $2 entrance to the petting zoo/mini "town" and you could pay extra to feed the animals carrots. The animals were cute and appeared to be well-cared for, though I hope they had extra room/pastures beyond what was visible. This place is souvenir shop, restaurant, and they also have a petting zoo. Their petting zoo is the reason why we would normally stop here when we visit Zion National Park. It's $2 to enter their petting zoo, and a $1 for two carrots to feed the animals. You won't miss them. You'll see their little ghost town when you are driving on the highway. read more

This was a fun little stop on our Zion trip. The souvenir store is full of quirky curios, jewelry, rocks, toys, etc. As with most souvenir stores, it is a bit pricey, but still fun to browse. They also had a sale section where I picked up a porcelain mini piggy bank for $1! The petting zoo area is fun. There are cute little buildings for the kids to run around in, and there are four or so pens of animals, including llamas, ponies, and two types of goats. It was $2 to get in the petting zoo and $1 for two carrots to feed the animals. read more

My husband and I were on an RV trip traveling through Utah and Zion. After leaving the National Park, we came across Fort Zion. We actually passed it and were not going stop but then decided to make a U-turn and go back to see what we could see. So glad we! The staff was amazing and the native jewelry was gorgeous. Couldn't decide on a necklace at the time, so I skipped it. When I got home, I was sorry I did. Called the store and spoke to Alicia. She was amazing! I was able to purchase the necklace with her and she shipped it to my home within a few days. Amazing store with amazing staff. Don't be like us. Stop in the first time you drive by and leave yourself enough time to take in the whole store and chat with staff. We plan to take a trip out every couple of months to see what new jewelry the store has in stock! FYI... ample parking for RV's. read more

I would have said 5 stars but I was concerned about the animals in the petting zoo. it looked like they needed better care.

Call ahead, closing time varies. We showed up around 5:30, looked around the store a bit and got in line to pay to see the animals. We waited for about ten minutes to wait for the person in front of us to check out. When we got to the front the person working let us know she wouldn't charge us for entrance, just for the carrots because they closed in three minutes. Online hours should be updated. Seems like it could've been a fun experience for kids. read more

A hidden gem many may not think of pulling over for but a must stop! Well, the outside barn is quite appealing actually for curious travelers driving by for some pictures. As we pulled to the gravel parking lot, the cute outdoor area has a small barn with llamas and wooden structures of a bank, saloon etc for pictures. Super cute for kids and families. It does cost a small fee of $2/pp and if you want to feed the animals carrots it's another $1. It's not a lot to help support small mom&pop stores. The gift store sells a lot of special rocks, Indian handmade items, jewelry and knives/swords. Further in towards the left is a cute antique store that sells homemade ice cream!! They have 2 sections: one side selling original flavors (such as cookies and cream or vanilla) the other side sells their specialty flavors (such as cactus or huckleberry). Their single scoop is $3.99 but the lady gives me like 2 scoops. When i told her i wanted one scoop she chuckled and said our single scoop are monster scoops haha. Their ice cream was so creamy!! This is our second time stopping by during a trip. Will continue to be our tradition every time we ever pass by!! read more

4/3/2021 On the way home from visiting Zion National Park and stopped for home made ice cream. We ordered a few scoops of ice cream and at $2.70 for a small scoop after tax it's worth it after a hiking day! Ice cream is really creamy! They have unique flavors and make everything in house. They source fruit from Hawaii, Florida and dairy from local farms to make it. Worth a try! I had crazy coconut and Pineapple perfection! Just missing the alcohol - ha. They have prickly pear flavor that is unique and pretty good. Kiddos got hooked on that one. Service is really nice, mom/pop shop. Until next time. read more

I can see in the reviews why people would say that this place looks sad, because of the animals in the pen, but I'm sure that they take care of their animals because they seem like people who enjoy what they do an be would want to do that. I didn't get the name of the woman at the counter, but she was very nice and she let my daughter have 2 free carrots to gift to the animals since she was too scared to give the one is that we had bought and had just thrown them in. There is was a huge store and a little ice cream shop, I wish that we would have had lunch before going so that we could have tried the homemade ice cream. But for the price of $2 to see the petting zoo, and 2 for $1 carrots to feed them, we hope to come back! read more

had some cool stuff and a petting zoo but the animals have barely any water and no food. they let you buy carrots to feed to the animals and when i was feeding them they acted like they haven't ate in a while. there is barely any shade for them and it's extremely hot outside. those animals need help. read more

We went for dinner & found they stopped serving dinner during covid. They still had ice cream but we wanted dinner.

Nothing but happiness and smiles from this place, we came in with 19 people, we all bought tickets to play with the animals and the small buildings $2.00 each person and they sold carrots for the animals 2 for $1.00. My children picked doing geode and it was worth every penny, so fun cranking the metal pole and cracking the geode. It was by far interesting and fun, I would highly recommend this place. The ice cream is so creamy and not overly sweet The gentleman at the register was a doll-face, so sweet and kind, my kids loved him, he told us about the geode and what fun it was to choose one to crack open. The man doing the ice cream was also friendly and gave great size scoops of ice cream this was truly a gem to stop by for. read more

On par with most situations in my life, if there's a way for me to spend money I'm drawn to it without even knowing. We stopped at Fort Zion originally just to check out the cute little set up spotted from the road. Parked the car, walked in to see it's a trading post as well as a food service stop and the petting zoo play area (which is I'm guessing $1 not positive) as soon after stepping through the door, I started trying on a few hats. Then I spotted some Navajo sterling silver rings with the most striking stones and had to ask to try them on. So, of course what I thought would be a free stop to check out their cute western themed play yard turned into an over $135 later new sterling silver ring with a raspberry opal because how else would I live without knowing I'd made this road side purchase?!?! Megan was a doll she helped me out and explained a lot about my purchase. Fun stop if you have the kiddos in tow. Did not try the food but somehow managed to turn this into a shopping experience. This was an awesome little spot to visit, complete with a petting zoo! My boyfriend and I were driving to Zion after visiting my grandma in LaVerkin. I spotted what looked like an old fort and HAD to get a picture of my guy in front of it. We pulled in to a spacious parking lot and headed inside the store. The smell of yummy sweets was the first thing I noticed upon entering. There was so much to look at, I wanted EVERYTHING! The staff was extremely friendly, and knowledgeable. There is a LOT of turquoise jewelry handmade from area indigenous tribes. I asked about the petting zoo, and $1 later I was out playing like a kid. There was an eating area outside with misters. Stopped here on our way out of Hurricane and enjoyed the petting zoo! The alpacas are super cute but be careful for the ponies. If you hold your carrot the wrong they will snap at you. Cute attraction and photo op. We paid $2 per person plus $1 per pair of carrots to feed the animals. We fed Sundance, the cute donkey, some demanding ponies, a few llamas, some goats and some bighorn sheep. There are old photo structures to take pictures in as well. read more

We stopped here for some fun shopping. However, we saw the cactus icecream very special. So everyone in my group decide to get try the homemade icecream. Turned out the ice cream were delicious and the guy was very generous to give us big scoop (like two scoops). Very friendly serve! Great place to stope by!!! read more

I am appalled at the lack of compassion that these money greedy excuses for humans show for the poor animals who are under their disgusting care. Their "enclosures" are a joke. No shelter, no hay, no enrichment and not even space enough for the animals to run or stretch their legs. The animals' body condition is miserable. Their skin dry, no shearing, overgrown hooves, no obvious vet care. One of the alpacas has severe skin damage from being exposed to the brutal desert heat. There's never proper food or clean water. They profit on selling carrots to feed them and I am sure that this might be the only food they get. I called the authorities on them but, of course, the officer who answered my call knows the owners, so it was clear that he wasn't going to do anything about it. I am making my life's mission to liberate these poor souls from these horrible, pathetic, money hungry excuses for uncaring humans. Shame on you. read more

Cute shop and staff was nice, but the petting zoo left me feeling sad for the rams. It was so hot and they were grouped in their tiny square of shade panting heavily, wouldn't even come out for a carrot. The rest of the animals were very sweet but the rams need to be sheared. I hope the staff will consider helping them stay cooler in high summer temps. read more
