Rita's cantina gets a 5 star because they were so accommodating from start to finish! On a busy Friday night they took our group of 6. The outside patio was perfect with live music- thankfully not too loud and loved the lights outside and heat lamps. Halfway through our dinner we had two extra guests and they were very kind about it. Our server Jon was also really helpful and appreciated that with such a large group he was able to do separate checks- that was a huge deal for us and we really appreciated he did that and was happy to do it! The chicken enchiladas are DELICIOUS and a great portion! I would come back for sure!!

I have been staying at a property close to the JW Camelback. I hit up the Cantina, sitting at the bar. I usually start with a Bloody Mary, which is always outstanding. I then move on to the Carne Asada Tacos, which are some of the best tacos I've ever tasted. The Bartenders I see their most often are Tim and Brendan, and they provide excellent service. If you are ever in the area, check them out!!

We ate at Rita's twice during our stay at the Camelback Inn. We had dinner in the bar and brunch at the buffet. Both of the meals were delicious. We could not get enough of the tuna Crudo! Their salsa that they use under it was so flavorful. We will definitely be going back specifically for that dish. Their breakfast buffet was also really impressive. They had a cook, making omelettes, eggs to order, pancakes to order and massive crispy French toast to order. One of the best breakfast buffets I've seen in a hotel in a long time. The service at dinner surprise me... We had been receiving amazing service from every single person at this hotel during our stay, but our waitress at dinner was not like the others. She walked up to us and directly asked: Are you ready? No greeting. No introductions. We sat with empty drinks, the majority of our dinner and we were never asked if we wanted to refill. She was mostly on her phone behind the host stand and seemed annoyed that we were dining there. Everyone else was fantastic. Kind of surprised that she is a part of the team.

My husband and I went to the Sunday Champagne brunch to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The brunch setup was beautiful and everything tasted great. There was an excellent guitarist which helped set the mood nicely. We asked to be placed in the shade. All in all a great, not perfect experience. We would go again sometime.

We stayed at the Camelback Inn for a staycation and dined at Rita's Cantina & Bar for both breakfast and dinner during our visit. Breakfast: We had the breakfast buffet twice. It offers a good variety, including made-to-order omelets and French toast. The omelets were generous in portion size, filling, and had a wide range of ingredients to choose from. There were also the usual breakfast staples like bacon, sausage, potatoes, and other assorted items. Overall, I'd rate the taste and variety of the breakfast at 7/10. Unfortunately, the service during breakfast was lacking. On both days, we didn't receive any beverage refills, not even water. On the second day, I had to go find our server just to get a refill. For service, I'd give it a 4/10. Dinner: Our dinner experience was okay. The salmon was delicious and well-prepared, but the burger was pretty average and didn't stand out. I'd rate the dinner food at 7/10. Service was slightly better than at breakfast but still not great, again, no drink refills and very minimal interaction. Service for dinner would be around a 6/10. Overall: The food was decent, and the breakfast buffet has nice variety, but the service needs improvement, especially with attentiveness and basic things like drink refills. Given the beautiful resort setting, I expected a bit more attention to detail in the dining experience.

Rita's Did you know Scottsdale has an all-you-can-eat seafood brunch? It's called Rita's Cantina, and it's serving up unlimited shellfish and vibes like it's no big deal. Start at the cold bar, where crab claws and shrimp are chilling. Then hit the hot bar outside--because nothing says "classy chaos" like carving prime rib next to a DIY nacho station. Balance, people. And just when you think you've peaked, boom: pancake and French toast station Now, I'm usually team "French toast is just soggy bread with an ego," but Rita's version? Crispy on the outside, cloud-level fluffy on the inside--it's practically having an identity crisis and I'm here for it. Still standing? Waddle your way over to the dessert station where they make bananas foster on the spot. Live, flaming sugar theatrics--because brunch without a show is just breakfast with commitment issues. 3rd bday dinner celebration for myself here. Everything from the charred octopus, to the shrimp enchiladas (my choice) & wagyu burger (date's choice). The wagyu burger is probably one of the best burgers I've had here in the valley. Service was rocky at first as server thought I'd been helped by another. No harm, remedied quickly. Ambiance due to a live guitarist/singer was really nice. Table was front and center on the patio so wonderful view. Dog friendly and families were also in attendance with their kids. Great place to have a romantic date. Makes you feel like you're on vacation. This place is a treasure for many sweet memories to be made.

What looks like free parking in the self-parking area actually isn't. There's a sign that says you have to pay for parking with a QR code. Parking is only free for 30 minutes. I called the hotel to inquire about parking and they didn't answer. After walking to the front desk, we were told that valet is validated at the speakeasy. I'm not a fan of valet, but I'll take free valet service (minus the tip) over paying more for self parking. Now, let's get to the good stuff. As the self-appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back with another one. Ambiance: (4.5/5): I won't give all of the clues away, but walk to the third floor, look for a book shelf, and you're on the right track. Once you get inside, you'll find an intimate speakeasy. We're talking seating for 12 or so people or so, tops. I imagine getting a seat on a weekend is quite tough, so take that into account and make a reservation. When you do, you'll find out that there's a $25 cancellation fee per person if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation. I understand that no shows negatively impact restaurants/bars, but I absolutely hate when the cost of doing business is passed off on customers. I'm reliable, but if I'm going with someone else, and they cancel, now I'm in a tough spot. Anyways, I loved the ambiance at The Madam. Think dark wood, sophistication, and some cowboy vibes. The seating was comfortable, too. Service (4.5/5): Minus the parking snafu, our bartender did an absolute awesome job taking care of us. She was friendly and attentive throughout. They were perfecting a new drink menu and even offered us two drinks on the house. Which was much appreciated! We were lucky, for sure. Food (N/A): While they do have food, I was on a liquid diet on this visit. Drinks (4/5): When I go to a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity. You'll find that here for the most part, though I wish the list of craft cocktails was a little larger. There were only two or so cocktails that struck my fancy. I went with the one with green chartreuse, which is always a treat. But, when I'm at a speakeasy, I'm hoping that at least half of the selection intrigues me. Despite the limited selection, the cocktails are well made and have an interesting blend of flavors. The Madam is a true speakeasy (no signage and an ambiance which is true to the history of speakeasies), which makes them a winner in my book.

When we arrived, it was a bit confusing, as there wasn't really any signage or staff who were willing to assist in directing us to the the place - the hostess at the elements restaurant was snippy and was just rude for no reason! The setup at jade bar was fine; sitting by the windows is your best bet to get a nicer view; however, there was a wedding that was taking place outside, so we couldn't access to have the option to do an al fresco experience. There was no hostess, and the waitstaff seemed to be limited; we didn't know this was just a 'walk-in and grab a seat at any table' type of a setup - We ordered: +the Truffle Tots - did not expect what this dish was; the romesco sauce was just not good +a California maki roll - the imitation crab meat had an off taste to them, and it wasn't tightly rolled so everything fell apart +and, the Chicken Wings - this was covered in some type of a sticky/hoisin type of a sauce; the chicken was NOT cooked through, and we thought we were going to get sick We ordered the Blueberry Dreams (prepared with buffalo trace bourbon, lillet rouge, blueberry lemon, honey, and ginger) and the Spicy Margarita (prepared with deleon blanco tequila, cucumber, jalapeno, and lime) - both were made very strong and were aesthetically pleasing. The seating area and the chairs could have been wiped down and cleaned better; we noticed stains on the furniture. But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. Back then, the cocktails felt intentional and creative, not just rushed out for volume. The staff remembered regulars, conversations flowed naturally, and the whole place had this warm, eclectic energy that made you want to stay for hours. Even on busy nights, it somehow still felt personal. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, the vibe has changed quite a bit. The drinks just aren't as consistently good as they used to be, especially considering the prices now. Service feels far more transactional and impersonal, and the atmosphere that once made this place stand out has faded into something much more generic. What we didn't realize at the time was that we had stumbled upon one of those dishes that would stick with us! So when Liquor Pig closed, we were genuinely sad to see it go, but then delighted to learn that the same chef was spearheading Wayward and, most importantly, that the legendary bone marrow poutine made its way onto the new menu. And thankfully, it's still just as memorable! The bone marrow is incredibly luscious, rich, and decadent, and the whole dish is the perfect indulgent pairing for Wayward's creative cocktails. The portion is also a great size for two people to share, especially since it's definitely a rich dish. We also tried the Jaew Chicken which was tasty and definitely a little different from what I'd normally order. It was a nice addition to the meal, but honestly, the poutine is the reason we'll keep coming back to this place!
