The best place to fix what hurts. I have tried chiropractic, physical therapy, has MRI's and my MRI revealed Spondylosis. The definition of this is:Spondylosis describes spinal degeneration accompanied by pain, and is often used as a synonym for spinal arthritis. I purchased a groupon for a deep tissue massage. It was a little difficult to make an appointment since most of the time slots were booked up-as they're going to be with any good therapist. And Keisha is very good. I am also a therapist of 16 years and have had a LOT of massages. I like really good, deep work that is going to have a lasting effect on the body and that is exactly what she does. She only did 2 strokes on me before I knew she was going to be good. I actually brought her to my town to have her work on some of the other therapists that i work with and they all loved her massage technique. It was a long wait to get in with her, but I definitely see why! The business is very cute, I loved the setup. When I walked in, Keisha had the client form out and ready for me to fill out. I told her what was bothering me and she told me she knew exactly what she was going to do. Once in the room, I loved that there was an envelope to put tip money into: super professional. Keisha is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what she is doing. She worked so many places that have been hurting as long as I can remember. I have seen Keisha multiple times now and I'm impressed every time with her skill and touch. I have had and continue to have many massages with multiple therapists, I found Rachel to be one of the better therapists I have experienced. Her strength and pressure were outstanding. I would return again to receive more massage, the reason for 4 stars vs 5 is simply the pressure I felt to purchase a multi pack pass in which I may very well do. I will just wait until I have chose to do so. Rachel uses some techniques I haven't had in my previous experiences, and I really liked the outcome. I had such a wonderful experience at Sol State Massage. The environment was comfortable and relaxing. The massage was AMAZING. I've been struggling with some shoulder issues for a while and during the massage I had a good dialog with the masseuse about what felt good, what didn't and what felt like it was targeting the right spots. After a bit of work, there was a sudden A-HA moment when the massaging and adjustment felt like they were perfectly targeting where I hurt the worst. I had to appointments with her and she canceled both at last minute. Thankfully I followed my gut feeling and actually called her confirming our appointments BOTH times. The 1st time she was "heading out of town" ... And she acted very no big deal about it, when I had arranged my whole day and schedule for an appointment ! Wish I could give a higher rating. If you're going, you're better off going without the Groupon. I got one for my birthday for Rachel, but the experience was kind of spoiled when she greeted me by telling me to stop using Groupon. She said she's losing money through it, and that it isn't worth the $15 she gets from my sale. I was really uncomfortable with her working on me while having that kind of mindset, so the entire 50 minutes wasn't a dream. Massage was fine, just wish things didn't start the way they did. I received a couple of massages from Keisha Curtis so far and she has really impressed me. I've been getting deep tissue massage from her and she really focuses well on my areas of concern: glutes, allover back, traps, and neck. She also does a killer foot massage during the session - I even fell asleep once :) She does these awesome stretches and maneuvers with your muscles (such as arms) that really relieve muscle tension, especially cuz I'm double jointed. She also gave me some tips on stretches and rubs I can do on my forearms while I'm at work typing all day in order to relieve muscle tension. i had a fantastic massage from Keisha. i was very strong, deep and thorough. she took a lot of care to work out all my bits of tension and gristle and seemed almost intuitive to where i needed attention. she is so thorough she moves and adjusts your body and limbs in order to get deeper and better angles at you muscles. it was also really reasonable at $80 for 90 minutes, especially considering the effort and energy she put into it. one of my biggest gripes when i get massages is if it is too weak, but no chance of that here. never a dull moment. read more

Being an Ironman triathlete I was excited and In need of a good sports massage. I arrived and there was no intake, no questions asked about what I was looking for, what was wrong, my preferences or anything. I was only asked if I had any hardware????? Ok so then she began and by began she started torturing me. There was no proper warm up of the tissues or anything. Just started out scraping my muscles. I've had massages and Rolfing all over the US with. Therapists that work on Olympic athletes. With Eric Dalton himself. Keisha name dropped saying she has worked on all these famous people but I know that it's not true. The only people that name drop are the ones that are embellishing the truth. she also stated she's been nominated best of northern Nevada several times. I work for the paper and know that that means nothing lol. She spent the next 30 minutes diagnosing me with all these conditions that I know I don't have. After I was basically begging for the torture to stop, I had already started bruising. I ended up having to see my doctor two days later and have an injury to my IT band that is taking me out of my next three races. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS "therapist" your money if you are an athlete. I bought a groupon for an 80 minute massage from Keisha and my massage was less than 50 minutes! Therefore, I received less than 63% of what I paid for. I use groupon to find new great local businesses, and by cheating me that much of my product I would not return or recommend Keisha. Prob best to just not offer Groupons if you are not going to provide the service customers paid for as to prevent tarnishing your reputation. I had to laugh at the last reviewer, because I completely agree by writing this review it will make it harder for me to schedule an appointment--but Keisha deserves it! Keisha is a true healer. I have had chronic pain issues for years and have tried many different things in the past (physical therapy, massage therapy, exercises, stretching). Keisha is the only person I have gone to that has continued to make progress. Other people would make a little progress, but then quickly run out of "tricks" or simply keep trying the same thing over and over. Keisha is continuously changing what she tries based on what she feels and notices about your body--that has made all the difference. She also gives specific stretching exercises to do at home, again based on what she feels. If you are looking for a relaxing massage that makes you fall asleep, Keisha is probably not the girl for you...please let the rest of us go to her who need her expertise and healing! Do not worry about the negative review stating she could not get an appointment, Keisha has an online scheduling system that makes it very easy to schedule appointments. Yes you have to plan in advance and yes you need to check back as she "opens" new months, but certainly anyone able to write a review on Yelp should be able to schedule appointments. read more

Disappointed Groupon Customer I bought a groupon to try Sol State. Keisha came highly recommended from my partner who has been to her and had high praise. There are only two therapists at Sol State and only one sees patients in evening or on weekends. Many of us do not have jobs where we can take the morning or afternoon off to get a massage. I checked all this out BEFORE I bought the Groupon and read the reviews for Keisha which were quite positive. First, I couldn't even schedule the massage on a weekend until mid-summer - that's OK as I figured she was restricting Groupon people to certain days. I scheduled the appointment via the website - selected Groupon massage which she has as a scheduling option. She emailed me two days later and told me to schedule with her partner cause "I'm not doing groupons anymore." I told her the partner offered no evenings or weekends. She quickly replied and told me to ask for a refund because "I'm exhausted." She's happy to sign up for Groupon (I know from a friend this isn't her first Groupon experience) and take my money but then doesn't want to honor the deal. Does she know Groupon doesn't actually offer refunds - only "credit" to spend within 3 months on something else??? Maybe I'll start offering Groupons too - I don't even have a business - happily take people's money and then tell them to ask Groupon for a nonexistent refund. What a joke. Sadly I cannot recommend this therapist as I found this experience VERY unprofessional...... read more

I purchased a living social deal for an 80 minute massage from Sol State for my husband back in April. He had hurt his back so I waited a few months to make the appointment. When his back started to feel a little better in July, I went to the full slate website to make the appointment and the earliest availability was in October. So O.K. the lady is busy, good for her. So the appointment was made 3 months in advance. We had gotten a confirmation email and we thought all was good. We received an email from the therapist Keisha that Sol State had moved to a new location, approx 2 weeks ago. We wrote down the new address and thought all was still good. Today October 20th my husband arrived for his massage and was literally pushed out the door saying that he didn't have an appointment. He showed her his confirmation email, however Keisha was adamant that he was not on the schedule, all the while nudging him out the door. Extremely RUDE!!. Keisha called my phone later to apologize for cancelling his appointment when she moved. WHAT!! She cancelled his appointment, without contacting him and wanted to reschedule. I specifically asked her how we would have known that his appointment was cancelled, as he was not notified?? She replied that I did not tell you.... WHAT?? How irresponsible for a business is this? Is this done routinely?? Cancelling an appointment that was made 3 months in advance and have no consideration for your clients to let them know?? Keisha ended up telling me to get a refund from living social because I was the one being rude and hung up on me, REALLY! Just a warning, BUYER BEWARE! read more

I have only had 1 massage in the last 8 months because she NEVER has appointments. I asked for a refund of my other 2 massages and was told no refunds. Keisha is very unprofessional and unethical. Nor does she adequately communicate her intent going into a massage (providing only sports therapy type treatment) or that if you are the first client of the morning, the room will be ice cold as well as her hands, which never warmed up over the 90-minute period. read more

I was really excited to get a massage but was disappointed in what I received. My appointment was in the afternoon and since the room is in the back, I heard people coming in and out of the back door. It wasn't exactly relaxing having to hear conversations or the door open and close. Keisha spent about twenty minutes on my feet, which normally I'd be ecstatic about, but it was more of an excuse to be able to text. I saw her phone light up quite frequently and she'd only use one hand so I knew it was a way to get out of the massage. Then, she ended my appointment early which irked me even more.
