So imagine my relief to find Dr. Gent, who talks to me like I matter and actually listens to my responses. I was totally impressed by how thorough and conscientious he was when putting together my treatment plan and am actually looking forward to getting the work done. The young dentist tried to get me to do a crown a few years ago because he said I had a crack in one of my teeth. When I doubted his analysis he said "Well don't blame me if it falls apart and causes you pain". I was disgusted with his childish statement and attitude. So I went to TWO other dentists who confirmed that there was not a crack so I never went back. That was about 5 years ago and there is no crack. Now despite my insistence that he stop sending me multiple reminders to visit, their office still hounds me. Very unprofessional. I would never go back so he can pay for his expensive equipment. SoLa Dental is an excellent Dental office. The staff is friendly, understanding, and truly caring. Ashley who scheduled my appointment was amazing. She took the time to talk to my insurance company, and also helped me understand my insurance. The office is clean and the equipment is up to date. Like most of you I've hated going to the dentist my whole life. Dr. Gent and his team have changed that for me :). They respect your time and get you in and out. There is a TV and music in every room. If you want to just listen to music they provide you with headphones. They are very Eco Friendly and the technology is out of this world. The dental hygenist here was so friendly and amazing. This is silly but I was expecting to have netflix on the TV's based on the pictures but they do not. Definitely something I have recommended to them to really make them stand out as a spa. The staff is great, patient and very friendly. For the last three years I have suffered from headaches, migraines, along with clicking and popping linked with TMD. My problems seemed to get worse and worse over time. I'm in outside sales and have to talk to people on a constant basis. My headaches/migraines and jaw pain got to a point where I couldn't and didn't want to talk to people. Everyday around 3 o'clock my pain set in and made my job very difficult to do! Not to mention I came home to a two-year old who demanded my attention constantly! There were times when I had to pull over and just close my eyes until it passed or go to bed early and leave my daughter for my husband to watch. These headaches were taking over my life! At that point my only option was to take headache medication that made my stomach hurt on a daily basis. One day I walked into Sola Dental on a sales call just as my headache set in. As I sat in the waiting room Molly at the front desk noticed something was wrong and I explained to her my daily headache was coming on. She asked me more about what I was experiencing and then proceeded to tell me they could help me with a treatment called Trudenta. I scheduled a consultation and learned that the TMJ clicking and popping I was experiencing could be linked to my headaches. Dr. Gent explained to me that treatment could relieve my headaches and solve the jaw pain associated with TMD. You mean no more headaches? No more daily pain medication? No more jaw pain and I would have my life back? Sign me up! It's been three months now since I completed therapy. I can honestly say I haven't had a headache since I started treatment and my jaw feels soo much better, the clicking and popping has subsided!!! This has truly changed my life and I'm so happy that there was an option out there that didn't require medication or surgery! I previously went to Castle dental for 3 years because I didn't want to go through the hassle of switching dentists. All the others I've called in the past make you have two first appointments, this is very time consuming so I stayed with Castle and its awfulness of a dental hospital. Sola got me in within a few days, one appointment and great service. They were nice and speedy. Handed me a blanket and the remote to the TV when I sat in the chain and told me to relax. First of all, Gent stands for "gentle." Dr. Gent is a gentle man of the highest order, respectful of his patients, and he's also personable and interesting to talk to. But more important, he's an excellent dentist. He replaced some of my old crowns and because he has the technology to do computer-aided restoration, he was able to do so in one visit. And later, he cheerfully tweaked one that needed tweaking. I loved my previous dentist (whom I left only because of insurance), but I have to say that Dr. Gent's technological capabilities far surpass "old school" dentists. I rarely review on Yelp, but Dr. Gent deserves a shout out. I honestly think he is The Best. read more

I can't say enough fantastic things about this practice. The location is extremely convenient, the office is comfortable and open and most importantly the staff is amazing. I went to Sola Dental after having a less than stellar experience at another office (that is another review in itself) and I am so glad I did. Dr. Gent was patient, thorough and understanding. After placing crowns, and seeing me through multiple visits to make sure I was adjusting to work, Dr. Gent emailed me to make sure I was doing ok and to see if I had any concerns. I have never received that level of care from any medical professional. Molly, the office manager, was sympathetic and extremely flexible. Every time I have called she has known who I was immediately, and was professional, friendly and always helpful. The dental techs at SoLa dental exhibit the same level of professionalism, courtesy and ability. Everyone I had interaction with at the office alleviated the anxiety I had about additional dental work. (Once again, the other office I went to was quite traumatic.) The best part is they set the appointment and see you at THAT time. I got a few fillings from Dr. Gent last spring. It was the first time in a few years I had had dental insurance, I had a temporary job at the Capitol and therefore a brief period of awesome insurance. I was pretty excited. As it turned out, the session where I had the fillings done took about three hours because he was using some type of new product for the procedure (I don't know what that means, I took him at his word). He sent me a gift card to Austin Land and Cattle, a pretty classy move on his part. Fast forward to last month and one of the teeth he put a filling in has started to hurt pretty badly. I got insurance again and went to (my family) dentist. The dental hygienist who was cleaning my teeth pulled out that filling while cleaning it. "I've never seen this happen," was her astonished comment. I trust this person, she cleaned my teeth before. I hate to potentially take away from someone's business, but this is unacceptable. I'm sure it's something he's figured out by now. read more
