Solana Flooring did an expert installation of Mamre Cascades oak throughout my home five years ago. To prepare, they made sure the surface was perfectly level, which meant grinding the 1968 cement slab in a few spots. Their thoroughness so impressed my general contractor, he told me he wished they worked for HIM! For some recent home repairs, painters had used blue 3M masking tape to tape Ram Board down throughout, to protect the wood floor. Weeks later, when the Ram Board was finally removed, I could see stripes of of sticky tape residue on my lovely wood floor. Aargh!! I tried several home methods, but it just would not come off. I didn't want to risk damaging the floor with steel wool. So I called Solana Flooring. The owner, Mik, came over that very day to take a look. The next day, two of his workers arrived, inspected the areas, and applied a specialized, professional oil product, rubbing the areas with a soft cloth. We replaced the carpet with a wood floor. We went to a few stores, and Solana Flooring was the best. First of all, when we went to the store, Jeanne listened to what we wanted. Then she went the extra mile to find the colors that matched the existing floor. During the installation, the crew found some structural issues in our house, but they knew what to do. I worked with Ryan and Dave. Overwhelmingly positive experience. ~900 sqft of demo, leveling, and new floors including a stair case. My final invoice came in a couple hundred less than what they bid, indicative of conservatism in bidding and honesty upon completion. Dave was knowledgable and direct, but still very polite. Upon visiting their store to look at their extensive collection of floor options, I received thorough, courteous, and expert advice on flooring types - they asked insightful questions of what I was seeking for flooring in look, style, maintenance, and other details to ensure they guided me to the most appropriate product. I wanted to install real hardwood flooring in my house, and they were so kind to bring half a dozen large board samples of different colors and plank sizes to my home so I could consider the options. Being able to see the flooring in the room settings and with the natural light was so helpful and it became so clear that some selections were not quite right and also very clear which wood was the "winner". Once I made my wood choice, they made the process very easy - I had an extensive house remodel project going, and Solana Flooring was so flexible on scheduling the installation, which revised a few times. But they made sure that everything was ready to go when I was ready, and the crew did a great job with leveling the slab before install to be sure everything was perfect for laying the floor. The install team powered through the work each day and finished ahead of schedule. The owner and project manager personally came to my home several times during the entire project to be sure that everything was looking good with the design layout (which way the planks should run), quality of the product and installation, and also to confer with the tile setter to be sure room transitions from wood to tile were perfectly aligned. Solana Flooring installed hardwood flooring in my townhouse 5 years ago now. The floors continue to look fantastic and are my favorite home upgrade. After calling Solana Flooring, I had Dave at my home giving me an estimate within a few hours. Their crew installed two bathrooms, a living, dining room and entry way. The tile work I wanted in the bathrooms were marble and mosaic glass - which was rather unique for them, but they completed the job without hesitation. Dave and Mik provided us with a customized and personalized upscale flooring experience. We wanted to work with a small local shop that offered a more unique range of flooring. We also wanted more eco friendly choices. Dave showed me a type of carpet padding that is eco friendly and green. He also educated me about different carpet options that would work for pets and children. I really liked that Dave spent time to go over everything with me and that he is not some random sales person at a large box type setting.
