EVERYONE was super nice and friendly. Don did my nails & when I was reading my book on my phone, Don pulled out a phone easel so I could view my phone easily. Wow! Pedi was quick-they put rose pedals in the water since the owner brings in fresh flowers/roses everyday. I got my eyebrows done and they were done perfectly. I've been going to Solar Nails for over 2 years since living in Hutto and have never had an issue--until this visit. This appointment was a complete disappointment. I was assigned a nail tech I had never seen before, and the experience was nothing like what I'm used to here. She took an unusually long time to do a simple French tip manicure and pedicure, and despite repeatedly asking for the tips to be thinner, she continued making them thick and uneven. My nails literally look like McDonald's arches--crooked, bulky, unevenly filed, and poorly shaped. I originally asked for a unicorn finish, but was told it required gel, which I didn't want this time. After agreeing, it became clear there was confusion about how to do it, so I declined. Despite that, I was still given a gel French tip, which again took forever and still turned out poorly. Thankfully, one of the regular nail techs stepped in and did a great job fixing my toes--but by then the experience was already frustrating. At checkout, I was told my total was $138 for a deluxe pedicure I did not receive. We had to discuss the charges, and I ended up paying $108--still far too much for nails I hate and now have to get repainted somewhere else. I've always trusted this salon, which makes this even more disappointing. Consistency matters, and this visit missed the mark completely. read more

I've never been disappointed with my experiences here. The ladies are all very friendly and skilled. Errie (sp?) is the tech who usually does my nails and is fantastic! She always remembers exactly what I like and pulls it off flawlessly. I finally talked my husband into going for a pedicure (his first-he was skeptical) with me for my birthday recently and he liked it, too. We'll DEFINITELY keep going regularly. read more

It had been my first time getting acrylic toes and I'd decided to go here the French tip on the toes was to thick and I went somewhere else to get them off eventually and when I was getting them removed they said the application was so thick and the lady who did my nails gave me contact dermatidis do not go here! read more

2 stars because everyone was really nice but I almost left in tears! I paid $65 for this. I wanted tapered square. This is not even squared period! They were chunky, uneven, not natural looking at all. The tip application was horrible. The tips weren't flushed with my natural nails. The acrylic was stuck to my skin. I went to Hutto to try a new place because my regular girl lives too far and it backfired because I had to go to her the next day anyway to fix my nails! The male tech who did my nails basically chatted while doing my nails that unless I wanted very long nails with many designs most techs wouldn't want to be bothered with me as if he were doing me a big favor to bother with my nails. Ultimately my nails looked horrible - he may have done it on purpose so I wouldn't come back for my basic nail fill and one color gel polish. I had to go somewhere else to have them totally redone. I guess if you want coffin nails 3 inches long with intricate designs he might be your guy. Would never go back. Very weird experience. read more

I appreciate her customer service and regret leaving such a poor review to begin with. I have been using this salon for a year now and have recommended it to everyone, my mother and grandmother now use this salon as well. I am temporarily here for work, and wanted to get a mani pedi. I was first appointment of the morning and no waiting on a Saturday morning. It's a nice relaxed place with soft music and a couple of TV screens, with one picturing local events, and the other one beautiful places in the world to make you want to travel! Hannah did the "heaven" pedicure for me. This may have been the best I have ever had, and the foot and leg massage were also "heaven". I have regular nails and get them buffed shiny, which makes them look good for at least two weeks. Rose did my manicure while the pedicure was going on. I am very picky about my nails since as natural nails any flaws show up in them. She did a good job on a classic manicure for natural nails. I will definitely come back here if I come back to work. The salon got full rather quickly but everyone worked quietly and it was very relaxing. read more

They were so great taking me and my Harlee bear in for a walk in just a simple polish but it was her first time in the salon and she had a really great time: everyone was super friendly and the prices are really reasonable. My mani- pedi had to be rescued by switching personnel to their senior technicians mid stream. My manicure was looking terrible after 2 coats of gel, lumpy and uneven application. The woman in charge tried to dismiss the obvious but then replaced the technicians and I chose a different gel color in case the problem was the consistency of the gel. The new techs essentially had to redo the whole thing and I was grateful for their effort because I ended up with a very nice looking mani-pedi. Additionally, the cuticle cutter was not sharp with the first manicurist and it kept pulling at my skin. Something that would be obvious to a pro. Overall a very stressful experience, will not be back. read more

I never used to have an issue with this nail salon however I went in today and asked for dip nails and acrylics. The technician helping me was extremely rude and the nails are not at a proper angle as seen in the photos they are raising up from my nail. The technician also cut me multiple times and failed to remove all of the red nail polish I had on previously before adding the acrylics. Won't be returning, sadly. read more

I came on a whim because the hair salon bext was closed and I wanted a simple solid color acrylic set just regular squares shape and I thought it couldn't be that hard to do, they initially told me a price when i walked in after explaining what i wanted but I ended up paying double, my nails were super uneven and the nail polish in itself was not applied on the edges it took 3 people to get my nails done, eventually i just decided to agree with everything just so i could go home. Eyebrow wax, was great. First time coming here with 2 friends, we did the most expensive pedicure and I can still feel rough skin under my feet from the buffer. Paint is already coming off my finger nails. One of my friends had to go home and take all the paint off her hands and redo it herself. I honestly want a refund with how bad this was. I normally get SNS but started back on gel manicures, I went to get one Saturday and my nails look like I need another manicure already, the same lady did my last pedicure and it was bad as well, she never does the color right or clean the nails underneath, not sure if I'll go back.
