BUYER BEWARE. If you're reading this and in the process of vetting this company as a solar supplier for your home. RUN AWAY. We have had a multitude of issues with getting our solar panels up and running. They often do not show up for commitments, their build quality is cheap (they use rubber conduit instead of outdoor metal conduit). They have put multiple leaks in our roof and we've had to work a lot on getting them repaired. They have gone through multiple employees since we started working with them. It's taken 8 MONTHS to get the panels turned on. There are wires strung all over our roof and brackets left on the roof where we had to have them move the panels due to excessive leaking in our sun room. (If you look at other companies that install solar, they don't have conduit cables all over their roof.) They often do not answer the phone and do not respond to messages or emails. Their crew members talk about how unorganized their home office is. It's just a MESS. The MTE inspector said they often hear horror stories like mine with this company. I'm surprised they're still in business to be honest. We have incredible buyers remorse and they have a clause in their contract that we would have to pay 30% ($15K) to have them removed. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM. I would give them a -5 if possible. I have a nice looking lawn ornament (my solar panels), since January, because they will not finish the job and fix what is wrong with the inspections. My husband and I always wanted solar. The rep came at the beginning of January and sold us a very large unit that was supposed to cover our whole house. The men came at the end of January and installed the panels in our front yard. Or should I say half installed the panels. They never came back to finish their part of the installation. Once the panels are in your yard or on your roof, Solar Titan gets its money from the bank and you start paying. This is where the fun starts. It is almost September. I have been paying for this system since April. I also pay my whole electric bill. I have had many crews come in to do work on the system after you remind the company that your system is not up and running. The crews only do half the work and leave. You spend another month or longer waiting for them to come and finish. I have had my water line cut by this company and the pipe coming from the panels to my house was the longest route possible because the crew gets paid per foot. So we lose power from the panels along the route. We were told this system would cover my whole house. When the crew put in our panel, they only cover the living room and kitchen. His supervisor told him to only hook up those 2 rooms. Both bedrooms and bathrooms will still be covered by LaFollette Utilities. I will always have an electric bill. Scam on that part of the sales presentation. We know exactly what part of the house is covered by the solar panels because the circuit box has overheated 5 times and took out power to that part of the house. One of these times was when we were on vacation and we lost the contents of our refrigerator. In the fridge was my husbands Insulin. Lost 3 months worth of the drug. We have called for service and all they do is not call back or send someone to reset the box. Not solve the problem of when it gets very hot outside the box overheats. Well, we had our first inspection and we did not pass. That was at the beginning of July. We finally had someone come this morning to fix the problem. Of Course, in the Solar Titan expertise, the man did not know exactly why he was here, no parts to fix the problem and did nothing to answer the problem of the overheating box. I am still waiting to pass one of 3 inspections before I get a partial solar house. Like I said lawn ornaments for now. I pray I get this finished before Christmas. Avoid this company unless you like nightmares. They promise you the moon and deliver nothing. Find another company that has integrity and proud of their workmanship. read more

ZERO STARS. We went under contract with Solar Titan in July 2021. A sales rep came to our home and let us know we could save drastically on our electric Bill by signing with them. It would help alleviate utilities inflation pressure on us and ultimately would save us about 75% of our home's electric costs. We financed with mosaic (a dollar financing company recommended by Solar Titan), not a small amount. We now pay a loan payment and have yet to see any dip in our utility electric bill. We have had MANY crews out to our house, we have had MANY conversations with Solar Titan about how to fix the issue. Ultimately, they let us know they didn't originally research what size system we would need. They didn't ask but for only one monthly electric bill. From our last conversation with Mr Roden at Solar Titan, the system they installed will never get us to the contracted and agreed upon savings. He says he asked the owners about cancellation, and they supposedly refused. The only solution they're providing is to come back and add additional equipment and monitor the system then for AN ENTIRE YEAR to see if it works. We are appalled. We do not trust this business or their products. We are looking into mediation and legal action, as we do not want to business with this company and believe we've been scammed. I do agree that the poor people working there try to help... but at the end of the day, they can't stand behind their product. read more

The reps were on-time, professional, courteous, and most importantly honest and transparent. They did a great job of looking at my current energy bill and consumption from my commercial provider and then tailored a solar solution that meets my needs. YES Solar is EXPENSIVE, but there are no hidden fee's weird commissions, gimmicks, or surprises. After our electric bill went up 50% from December to January, my husband and I started researching alternatives, one of which was solar. We had an appointment with SolarTitan and the sales rep seemed to know what she was talking about. However, when she presented the quote, I told her we were not going to sign anything today, and had other companies to talk to. She said it was only good until she left. She then called back to the office, and put someone else on the phone who gave us a better "deal". We still did not sign because we do not spend that kind of money without doing our homework. Good thing, too, because some of what she said was just wrong...the batteries by TN law cannot be installed inside. They must go outside of the home. She told us they could go either inside or outside. And we found out that they do not charge below a certain temperature...different answers on this of either 32 F or 45 F, but we frequently get below either temperature. She also said that our electric utility had a buy-back program where they would buy back excess electricty for about half of what they sold it for - she was not sure of the amout. I called the electric utility and in fact they do NOT have a program like this. Finally, she could not explain how the financing worked. A little research showed that the finance company expected the customer to remit the 26% tax credit to them, and then they would reamortize the loan. This is crazy because a tax savings does not equate to money in the bank....it is just less that has to be paid to the IRS. I felt pressured to make a quick decision and did not trust the company. Moral of the story: Do your homework. Read the contract. Dont believe everything the sales rep says. read more

I found out about Solar Titan USA through some ads on social media. I had already done my own research about solar panels and how they work, plus got quotes from other companies. I also saw that Solar Titan USA was on the news, along with several other solar companies and reached out to them about that because i know there are two sides to every coin. They were very professional and answered all of my questions and concerns. I may have bugged them with questions because i wanted to be absolutely sure. They told me that the average time to install solar panels and get them turned on would be around 4 months. I had gotten a similar timeline estimate from other companies as well. The installation crew came and installed my panels very quickly! Also just like they said I did have some hiccups with getting my installation approved because my house is a little older. I called and they let me know what was going on and that they were working on it already. Communication could have been a little better, but they were already jumping 3 or 4 steps to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. I purchased in mid February and my solar panels are now on and functioning. I choose not to finance so that I would see the ROI faster on my system. I decided to not go with a backup battery because it didn't make sense to do it with a very small system. I will upgrade to a battery soon. So far it is producing what i was told and I am planning to add to my system in the next 6-8 months because it was a bit pricey. I use around 600 kwh per month in my home and live very comfortably. Before i got a quote i watched my utility bill to see how many kwh i was using. You cant get a large system to cover what your average kwh per month is and then start over using because you will not see a bill reduction. All in all i was skeptical because of the news and some social media comments but I work in customer service so i know how it is. Overall I would recommend solar titan usa. read more

THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY, TIME, and SANITY!! Here is what happened to me.... You don't want it to happen to you! 1) On 4/29/22 my wife and I signed a contract with Solar Titan for renewable energy through solar panels that would provide at least 75%-90% of our current home's energy usage. 2) The sales representative mentioned, during our meeting, that Solar Titan USA had a high ranking for their services, was a certified Generac installed, and was ranked high with the BBB. 3) Per the contract that was signed, our estimated in-service date was 5/29/22. 4) It is now 10/20/22 and we have yet to have an operating system. 5) We have been charged for 3 months with Mosaic (the loan company that Solar Titan USA used to get us the loan for the solar panels). We have been reimbursed for 2 of the 3 months by Solar Titan, but we are still $383.00 in the hole and have no anticipated date of completion. 6) Since the contract was signed, I have found that Solar Titan USA is not accredited by the BBB. An outright lie by the salesperson. In fact, they lost their accreditation prior to my meeting with the salesperson and the contract. 7) Many of the "Customer Complaints" on the BBB are similar to my experience. Big promises, no follow through, not hooking the system up, paying before receiving any hook-up, not hooking the system up correctly, etc. 8) On 9/13/22 I filed a complaint with Mosaic stating the issue. One day later, I received an email stating the following: a) My complaint was closed because they spoke with Solar Titan USA. b) They are waiting for the inspector to pass the system so they can commission the system. c) Someone from Solar Titan USA would contact me that day to address my concerns and provide me with further updates. 9) No one from Solar Titan USA has reached out to contact me about my complaints or provide me further updates to this point (over a month later). 10) An inspector came out to look at the system on 10/5/22. The inspector told me that the system did not pass and that he sent an email before leaving my property to let them know what the issues were. I have yet to hear any follow-ups with Solar Titan USA about this why the failed inspection or how long it will take to resolve. 11) I spoke with a manager today who said I am on my own with the monthly payment of $383.76 and they do not have any deadline for when my system will be operational. I have sent so many emails with no response from their company. Many times I have tried to call and cannot get ahold of the person who is supposed to be able to help resolve issues, they will never give a date as to when the system will be actually up and running. Signed a contract waited for financing to go thru. 10 days later after numerous calls to see what was taking so long Solar Titan said they didn't know but it needs to go through each layer of command and just wait they would be in touch. Well 2 hours later I received a call from corporate saying someone cancelled our financing! We did not cancel. Solar Titan said did you call the finance company which is Mosaic and I told them I don't have their number so how could I cancel the contract. Well, I did finally get Mosaic's number and you can only speak to a person in Columbia! I was promised 100% coverage of my electric bill, I told them I could not afford them and electric bill too! I have literally broke down crying and don't know what I'm going to do for my kids come Christmas! The salesmen was awesome and explained the entire system to us and was able to break down monthly savings. We just had our system turned on and with the generac app you can watch everything. Zero-Zero Stars. I am full of regrets in signing with Solar Titan. From the high pressure sales job (they offered me a military discount that they said was only good for one hour). To a panel installation that caused my household PLUMBING to stop working, to the very worst in customer service that I have ever experienced by any company in my life. The system installed was prone to failures, so they replaced the inverter, but didn't set it up right. Call after call would go unanswered, and if I'd get through, they'd promise me a crew to come out in a month, inevitably that would be postponed as well. I still have problems with my system, so I managed to get the promise of a crew to come out before Christmas, only they cancelled the serve the afternoon before they were to come out. Now ( a month later than the appointment was supposed to be) when I call I get them to reschedule, I get the following message from their one-and-only phone number, "We're sorry the number you have called has dialing restrictions that have prevented the completion of your call." BLOCKED!!! If you enjoy being ignored and frustrated after you shell out tens of thousands of dollars, then Solar Titan is the company for you. Our experience with Solar Titan USA from the beginning has been wonderful. The people are friendly, helpful and awesome to work with. Answered all our questions concerning the contract. Included us with every step we had to take and every step they had to take. Really, there wasn't much we had to do, they took care of all the paperwork with the contractors to include the utility company, electrical engineers, installers and the inspectors. Steer clear. They came to the house and did the hard sell; had me invest a bunch of time and then made an offer that was 40-60% high, as far as I could tell. They didn't have a breakout of the charges. I can't understand why it's so hard to get an honest deal on solar in East Tennessee; still looking. Came back from Colorado where solar is everywhere and was quoted a price that was $10-15k over my Tesla estimate BUT, Tesla doesn't install in this area yet. The salesperson called his boss to do the "exit interview" which was simply a way to see if the 'boss' could save the sale, but it was simply cost prohibitive with a 22 yr payback period. In addition to that, the salesman didn't know his product and could answer simple technical questions. Salesperson walked off with the estimate and left only his card and a 'brag sheet' for their company. That's 1-1/2 hours that I wish I could get back in my life. I wanted solar plus battery backup for a 24-48 hour full house backup to cover power outages from freak storms or from the grid going down, plus go green. Guess I'll look at an underground propane tank and generator versus Solar to see what gives me the best deal. Such a shame that solar isn't more popular in the area so that there is decent competition. After reading the other reviews, I felt it necessary to speak up, too. They offered a one-time deal for $4,000, available today only. I told them I HATE that type of sales pressure; if they could do it for me that day, they could do it in a week. They didn't look at my breaker box to see the size of my service. They didn't survey the roof to see how many panels would fit. They didn't know the Generac battery system well to know how much kW I'd need for my heat pump. They just had some basic packages to sell and knew very little technical information and weren't taking notes so they could get me the information later. When you're dealing with an engineer, you really need to have your ducks in a row. Still looking for a solar company that can help me out here in East Tennessee, or gonna wait for a Tesla affiliate to start servicing this area. Sheesh, they didn't even offer an electric vehicle charging station option and didn't really know if they could hook one up for me. read more

Solar Titan USA is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. We signed our contract in the beginning of June and had our panels installed at the end of July and it is now 05 October and we are still not able to use our panels. The inspector did not come to our house for over 60 days! AND WE FAILED the inspection! Now we are awaiting a response from the team of when they will come and fix our panels so we can use them AND THEN have the inspector come for a second time. All the while our loan on the panels is costing us close to 5$ per day on interest alone! We are paying our full electric bill plus the solar panel bill. We were quoted a 5kw system at 33750$ which the sales man estimated would save us 20000$ in electric bills over the course of the 20 years we have the panels. He failed to mention that if we pay the minimum payments of 203.13$ quoted that over the course of 20 years we will actually pay 55,231.2 effectively saving NO MONEY WHATSOEVER. The 2500$ rebate that we were promised did not come until over 3 months after we signed the contract. I have continued to feel like this is the biggest scam I have ever fallen for because I have signed a contract to pay over 30000$ for solar panels that havent saved me a single penny so far. DO NOT purchase solar panels with this company!!!! I recommend you find your business somewhere else if you wish to go solar. read more

Solar Titan sent sales reps to my home after I inquired from an add on youtube. The reps were very outgoing and friendly and expert salesman. They were some of the finest scam artists i have ever encountered. They claimed all sorts of system performance that i later found out was not true. Downright lied and misrepresented the terms of the agreement. Claimed to give me bonus features and a military discount for added value. They priced me a 5kw system with 9kw battery for $40,000 USD. In comparison i can purchase a 21kw system with 40kw battery elsewhere for 30k. They claimed it would provide 40-60% cost savings on my power bill. They claimed the system and battery would power my whole house in an outage only to discover it will only power some light bulbs and a wifi router for a short time. They avoided my calls and questions until long after the cancellation period in the agreement and are telling me that even though they lied and i do not want this system i am still required to pay them $12,000 USD just for talking to them and signing the agreement. This is the most pitiful excuse for a dishonest scam company i have ever seen. I have a close friend going through the same thing with this company. They came and installed the panels without even notifying her ahead of time and she caught them in the act and stopped them. They are trying to make her pay over 9k for a service she does not want and has not received. Do not buy from them for any reason they are dishonest, poisonous, and will try to slick talk you into being stuck with a poorly performing system for ridiculously high cost. If you have already signed an agreement, DO NOT MOVE FORWARD! and retain an attorney. What they are doing is a scam and is no doubt illegal. read more

My experience with Solar Titan USA has been better than most of the other Yelp reviewers. My first electric bill after my solar panels were hooked up was only about 1/4 what it otherwise would have been, so I'm satisfied the panels are working as the company claimed they would. We got our panels in October, so the amount of sun was decreased due to the season. I expect the panels will produce all electricity we need and then some in April-June timeframe, and we'll get credits from the electric company for overproduction. It appears likely their promise that my panels would produce 70-90% of our electricity needs on an annual basis will work out (I'll review the company again in a year if that doesn't turn out to be the case). The panel installers showed up actually one day sooner than they promised, the electrician came and hooked up the panels on time, and the city inspection went fine. Our $2500 rebate check came as promised. Once we pay the rebate check and tax credit amounts toward the principal of the loan next spring, the loan should re-amortize and we'll be saving money (loan payments per year should be less than overall electric bill savings). My biggest complaint is that it was difficult getting them to call me back. I contacted the salesman, who contacted the company HQ with my questions, and HQ never responded. The salesman said COVID was affecting many employees at their HQ, and that was delaying my responses. There are still a few things I'd like to have in writing that I never got despite several requests, including a promise that if we get our next roof from their company that removal and replacement of the solar panels would be free. Plus, I'd like to have in writing what Solar Titan's price would be for removing and reinstalling the panels if we were to get a new roof with another company. Overall, I have been satisfied with Solar Titan USA except in their returning my phone calls. I recommend that anyone wanting solar panels get at least three estimates, and have the Solar Titan estimate last; the reason is that Solar Titan will give you a $2500 rebate, but only if the contract is signed the day of the presentation/estimate meeting. I don't like that kind of high pressure sales tactic, but that rebate made their price competitive with the other companies I talked to. read more

Buyer beware! My system has been down since December 25, 2021. I did not make the discovery until Jan 20,2022 When I received an electric bill. We live a busy life. I don't check my system on a daily basis. I took for granted it was being monitored. It took me starting Jan 20 until Feb 1,2022 to have someone come out to look at my system and install a new inverter. I had to contact SolarEdge to be told by them that there were several error codes sent to Solar Titan to check our system. When the inventor was being installed, I mentioned my production meter isn't working. Installer says he will let the office know after several days and I made several calls. The new meter was installed Feb 9,2022. I mentioned to the guy my battery seems to not be working. He tells me he is only here to install a meter. I again make calls to be told someone might call me back this week. Feb 14, I go to Solar Titan and have a meeting with Russ Leinback and Shawna Helton who both tell me this matter will be looked into and I will be taken care of. Today is Feb 17,2022 I've not heard from anyone, and I called Russ with no answer and left a message that my battery is setting idle and needs to be looked at. Without a response. So I've bought a system that I'm paying for and now I will have 3 months of electric bills, or more pending when they ever come out and get my system up and running properly.
