Popped in last week to inquire about having a few rings fixed and cleaned. One prong on a garnet and gold ring, and the band on an opal spinnel and silver ring. I described the issues and the salesperson said she would take them back and talk to the jeweler. When she came back, she said the jeweler said none of my pieces were "worth" fixing, and that I should just wear them into the ground. I am not claiming my jewelry to be the fanciest or most expensive pieces, but they are of nice quality materials and gemstones, and great sentimental value. The gold and garnet ring was left to me by my late aunt, and I was having it repaired so I could wear it to my sister's wedding and she could attend in spirit. The salesperson let me know that he (the jeweler) stated that the opal/spinnel ring could not be repaired because heat might harm the stone, which to me was a reasonable explanation. They also said the gold and garnet ring needed all if it's prongs replaced but it was "not worth the effort" because the stone is worn. They did offer to still clean my pieces, and while I feel I should have just taken them elsewhere for everything. The cleaning was complimentary which a kind gesture considering the previous insensitivity. Overall I got a very clear impression thought my jewelery was cheap and they plainly stated fixing it was not worth their time. Sentimental value is also important! read more

Been a loyal customer of theirs for 15+ years...lots of jewelry purchased over that time and a lot of referrals given so it pains me to write this. Bought a lose stone and went in to ask him if he would mount it for my wife's new ring (the new band and wedding ring would have been very expensive) and he refused to mount it because I didn't buy the loose stone there. He claimed it was liability but I said I would waive; then said it could be a fake but I went downtown and had it tested (at a place he recommended) and he still said no...so it wasn't liability or fear of a fake but his ego was bruised. Great service and location! Went in today with a pair of silver earrings that I bought from Mexico. Need a small repair. The jeweler tightened them for me, at no charge almost instantly. Had my diamond ring cleaned there once before and they did a good job! Sanitizers available and masks are worn for safety at the store. Highly recommend! read more

Recently I brought my engagement ring an wedding band to this location for sizing as they were purchased from Costco which sells rings as is in the store. I brought the engagement once before and they sized it for me no problem. The owner or manager wasn't there the first time. They did a great job. This time he was. He kept telling me my wedding band was "too new" and therefore couldn't size it. When I mentioned that they had previously sized my engagement ring and that I had purchased it at Costco he continued his "too new" argument. I asked him if it looked "less new" would they size it? He said no. He talked about the fact that the ring was platinum and he couldn't be sure of quality and that matters in sizing. I said that both rings were purchased from Costco and that the quality of the other platinum wasn't an issue with the engagement ring. I then asked if he could recommend someone and he said no and that no one would risk sizing my wedding band. He agreed to re-size the engagement ring. He asked why. Then he admits that the diamonds on the band were to close to where the cut would occur and he didn't want to risk damaging the stones whereas the stones were further away on the engagement ring. My issue is that he was rude and condescending and couldn't have saved me time by just admitting he didn't think they were capable of sizing the ring. Also, I went around the corner to High Society Jewelers and they said they could size the wedding band. They did and in damage. I'll be taking my business there from now on. read more

Overpriced for such cheap looking jewelry. To top it off, the owner has absolutely zero customer service skills. It's like he expects the customers to feel privileged to buy from his store. Not sure if I came in on a bad day but I saw him not even greet a family that asked a question but just began with raising his voice very loudly and yelling at them. Bad business. read more

This has got to be the least professional, poorly run, and overall worst jewelry store I've ever been to. After asking the owner for a simple appraisal he turned red in the face and told us to take it back to where we bought the jewelry from. He didn't even give me a chance to say I was willing to pay for it and assumed we wanted it to be done for free. Maybe this guy had a bad day so far but I've never seen an adult male so easily triggered by a mere question. It makes me wonder how this guy avoids going on a rampage let alone sell any jewelry. You're better off going to a pawn shop in the southeast side of Chicago. read more

Salespeople are very friendly and knowledgeable and take time with each customer to carefully describe each piece of jewelry regardless of the price point.
