    fish and 1/2 lobster mac
    Jamal O.

The fish and 1/2 lobster mac is pure comfort food done right. The fried fish was perfectly seasoned, golden, and crispy without being greasy--flaky on the inside and clearly fresh. That alone would've been a win. But the real star is the lobster mac. Creamy, rich, and packed with real lobster flavor--not just cheese pretending to do all the work. The pasta was cooked right, the sauce had depth, and the lobster didn't feel like an afterthought. Every bite actually delivered. Portion size was generous, and the flavors felt intentional. This is the kind of meal you remember and come back for. If you're into elevated comfort food, this combo is a must-order. 1/2

Very personable and inviting ambiance. Flat screens on the walls so you can catch a game while eating. They also had some smooth jazz but neither was over powering. You can eat in or do take out. Was craving lobster mac and cheese. Got my yummy for my tummy! Well seasoned, ample portion and enough for left overs. Fried fish was the ribbon on top with some slamming collard greens. Oh happy day

In Charlotte riding around, the city was looking for a quick bite and looked at my list of places to try, and Cuzzo's was in close proximity, so I chose to go there. When I walked inside, it was a lot bigger than the pictures I've seen lead on. There were plenty of seats and a huge bar there as well! Always a pleasant surprise when you can get some drank while you wait for your meal, in my humble opinion, lol.  The decor was cool, and the way it was set up looked like it could get really busy some days, I was there on a Sunday evening, and the weather was not good, so it was light. The restaurant wasn't empty, there was a steady flow of people but it definitely was not busy.  I had plenty of time to look at the menu, which was very simple, nothing too crazy, the cashier took my order, and my food came out at a decent time. Now for the food.......DELICIOUS. I think this was my favorite meal since I have been here in Charlotte, I had the Cuzzo's combo meal, which came with wings, lobster mac and cheese, collard greens, and a lemonade. One word.....flavor! Everything was really good, and I'll be honest I am not hard to please, and I was definitely hungry when I had it, but that does not take away from anything here.  The lobster mac was divine. By far my favorite thing I ate there, if there is one thing you must try there, I recommend the lobster mac.  Oh wow, I had this Pear Lemonade too so good. I am making it a point to go back before I leave, phenomenal!

I didn't order hair.... this was stuck to the container when I opened it. The portion of the lobster mac and cheese was extremely small. I also ordered mambo shrimp and most of the shrimp look like they don't have any mambo sauce on them.

6 wings, side of yams, side of greens, and lemonade.

Way overpriced. Paid $29 for this. It was a take out order and took 15-20mins. The wings were over cooked and dry. The OG Cuzzo's was wayyy better than this location, providing better service and portions for your money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

With their expansion to the University area, Cuzzo's, a New Orleans-inspired cuisine, teases your taste buds like a proper bowl of shrimp and grits on Fat Tuesday. For my weekday visit, I ordered the Fish and 1/2 Lobster mac-n-cheese platter for lunch. While not exactly a bargain at $13 (plus about a 15-minute wait for it to be prepared) it was, nevertheless, worth it. Really, worth it. The fish is lightly breaded, and with a nice array of spices, allows the flounder to shine without piling on the heat. I like that. The lobster mac-n-cheese is flavorful and creamy, with the pasta cooked a perfect el dente. Although one can never have enough lobster, it was plentiful and tasty, too. So tasty, in fact, that on my next visit I will pre-order a vat of it and make it a Spa Day. Just heat it up and I'll jump in. Yeah, that good. Mmmm. Cuzzo's has other things I'm interested in, too. Wings, chicken, shrimp and grits, and more lobster mac-n-cheese, please. Others have noted they are working out the kinks of a new location. Let's hope they do 'cause they got my "Give 'em a whirl" meter just a humming. Looking for something a little more southern than Charlotte? Go here.

I was so glad that this place came to university because it saved us the 25 minute drive to the other location! It is much bigger, has a bar area, and a lot of tables compared to the other one. The staff was really friendly and many servers checked up on us while we waited. The only issue I had was that the food took 30+ minutes to come out, and at the other location they are pretty fast. Everything here tastes amazing, great portions, and you really can't go wrong with anything you order. Also, you can't come to Cuzzo's and not get the lobster mac. It's definitely the most known and best thing on the menu. Make sure to get that as a side with whatever you get!

Ordered lobster Mac n cheese, there was only two pieces of very small lobster and the fried shrimp was overcooked.

Well , after a round of "what do want " I don't know..... what do you want ? We decided on visiting the Crafty crab. After all , you can't go wrong with seafood right ? Boy were we wrong . When we walked in we were serenaded by " Pop that coochie" from the 2 live crew . We were seated and ordered . I was then told what I ordered wasn't available and the menu didn't reflect that . Ok , no problem so I went with a Po boy fish sandwich and the wife got a boil to share with the daughter . The Po boy came out really fast , like too fast and so I was like ok let's see what this is all about . The bun was refrigerator cold and the "fish" was more breading than fish and had an awful oil tinge to it . A fish filet could have beat it. The wife didn't even finish eating as she said it was awful. Besides the "ambiance " Tran's the food , I'd say the soft drink was the best thing and the server was cool as well . No thank you crafty crab. When I got home I had a feeling of nausea and kept trying to wash it away with anything I could keep down .

Despite it being packed, we were seated immediately because we said we would take an outdoor table. As soon as the server came to our table to take our drink order, we made sure to order our food too. After this interaction, we never saw her again until the bill. Other employees ended up dropping off our drinks & food. I ordered 1/3 rack of the St. Louis Style ribs. It came with two sides. I chose French fries and chips & guacamole. Chips & guacamole was considered a premium side so they charged an extra $4. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our food after we ordered. This wasn't a bad wait considering how busy the restaurant was. Food was decent and the location was nice as it was on the water. The absolute best part of the whole dining experience was the music. Whoever was controlling the playlist that night deserves a raise. It was peak millennial, throwback to the Disney Channel days music. There was a ton of parking as the restaurant is located in a big shopping center. I would definitely go here again, but if there is a concert nearby that night, I would recommend getting there early.

The restaurant has a lakeside patio, but it was a little too hot to sit outside, so we chose seats at the bar. The bar is spacious and has a lively sports-bar atmosphere. We mostly went for drinks--I had a couple of Long Island iced teas, and my wife had champagne. The drinks were good, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, Boardwalk Billy's is a solid sports bar and exactly what you would expect from this type of place. It would be a good stop before a concert or a comfortable place to watch a game.

We walked the boardwalk after dinner, nice bonus. Spacious patio as well as plenty of indoor seating with half booths, low tables as well as high top tables. Full service bar. Food: yummy! They brought out two cornbread muffins while we waited for our orders. Nice and sweet. For an appetizer we got the everything green dip. Five stars! Comes with tortilla chips. I was almost full so for my meal I got a side of seafood Mac n cheese and a side of mixed vegetables. I still didn't eat all of my food. Nice portion sizes. The side of Mac was $9 the entree of Mac was $26. If I go back and get the entree I would definitely share it. Sooooo good, nice and creamy and cheesy, huge pieces of shrimp. My friend got the turkey wings. I watched the meat fall off the bone as she ate. She got garlic parmesan. She liked the dip so much she ordered the greens as a side. You get two with your entree. Ambiance: great music! R&B vibe. It was kind of challenging to carry a conversation so I would not pick this as a romantic date spot. Quite a few stairs outside as well as inside fyi. Service: the only reason I'm not giving 5 overall stars is the service. Some staff were clearly hustling and others not so much. We asked for our table to be wiped down and the busboy who was supposed to come never did and we eventually just switched tables. Our server was super sweet and accommodating, just a little forgetful. After two asks for some things we just let it go. It was a very busy Thursday evening though. She was working very hard and professional. Great suggestions from her from the menu. The busboy popped up as we were finishing our meal. We saw him again as we were leaving. He was out back hanging out with other workers. Which explains why our server couldn't find him and the table never got wiped down. Overall I would return. I really liked the vibe. Good energy. People were happy and having fun. Food is wonderful, very well seasoned with flavor and I want to try more things. Hopefully some staffing decisions will have been made by then to provide consistent service because eventually that will be a turn off for me.

However that's where the good experience ended. Took literally 20min for a waiter to even come over, in spite of seeing at least 3 different workers come out to help patrons who were seated already and eating. A couple that got seated right after me was waiting just as long. When a waitress finally came out to get my order, I wanted a drink but opted for just water because I didn't have time to be waiting even longer for refills that prob would never come on a paid drink. I went ahead and placed my order too because again, didn't need anymore time passing, especially since I had been sitting for 20min anyway had plenty time to figure what I wanted. She takes my order and immediately goes back inside, leaving the couple who came after me still waiting to even get a cup of water or any acknowledgement. It's like they can't multitask or something. I literally saw abt 4 different waiters on that small patio coming and going so couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hold ups were. Anyways only brunch was served at that time so I opted for the chicken and waffles. It was good but I think $16 for two small wings and a waffle a bit much, but everything is expensive these days. The food didn't take long to come out after I ordered. It was advertised as coming with warm maple syrup. But nope cold syrup in small lil cups. Again since I waited so long to even be served i didn't have the patience to wait for some warm syrup. Overall food was just ok, nothing to make me want to go running back for. And my waitress never even came back to check on me until it was time to bring the check. SMH. They have a lot of work to do on customer service.
