The perfect place for a book club meet-up, or catch up with friends at any time of day, the cafe is sweetly decorated and uber cozy. I was so glad to see they were open as the few times I had visited before they were closed. With that said, I recommend to call beforehand as my understanding is that the bakery has odd hours sometimes. The staff was friendly and helped me choose a selection of goods to take home with me. I ended up with their very last snickerdoodle cookie, two spinach quiches, and their peanut butter chocolate cheesecake with an Oreo crust. Yum, yum, and yum! All of it. The quiche was particularly good and heated up well the next day keeping the center moist and fluffy while still being loaded with spinach. Sorry to say my review won't come with photos of the treats I picked up as I ran out quickly to get home in the rain. But...I guess you'll just have to go see yourself! After residing in Ocala for 9 months, we finally made it here. To be honest, this business was not on my list of bookmarks, nor had I even checked it out. We finally explored the square due to one of the art walk events. Since it we visited twice here on Friday evenings, we decided to have espresso. During the events in the square, the businesses usually stay open later than usual. This also means they are busy. I have yet to visit during normal business hours so I am not sure how the traffic is usually. Our first visit was just to check it out and get whatever on a spontaneous decision. I did not know they serve beer and wine so I opted for wine our first time. I picked out some French white wine, which wound up being over $20 for a tiny bottle! The staff member warned me she was unsure of the price and we were both shocked when she scanned it lol. I then switched it for a sparkling wine, which was half the price. The espresso hubs and I split was as good as it gets. We love our espressos and coffee bold and strong so we were happy. The staff member also gave me a teacher's discount, which I appreciate so much because therapists don't usually get discounts! The next time we visited, we ordered another espresso, as well as a cinnamon bun and an Andes cake. OMFG how orgasmic!! I love mint chocolate anything so I was sooooo excited! We saved it for later and it was just amazing! Hubs loves cinnamon buns and he approved as well. Both times we sat for a while, sipped our coffee, and talked. I am definitely interested in checking Soleil out when it is less busy to soak it in. The place was clean and the staff were personable and friendly. They serve a lot of vegan products and honestly, they are so good, you probably could not tell the difference which is vegan or not. I absolutely LOVED this place!! When I think of my ideal coffee shop feel, this place is exactly what I imagine. The decor was gorgeous and eclectic and cozy. We sat for a while just drinking coffee and talking, because it was so comfortable in the space. The staff was really great about answering questions about baked goods and the drink options. I ordered a vanilla and lavender latte and an Ube blondie, which was very good! Theres so much seating and the place looks much smaller on the outside than it actually is. It's very spacious and there lots of room in there. It also looked like they sold items from local makers like candles and jewelry and art, which I loved as well. This was such a cute bakery in downtown Ocala and seems like a nice place to hang out, but the items we got were quite disappointing. We got the smore's cookie and the ube cupcake. The cookie was dry and difficult to eat. Honestly, it felt like it had been sitting there for a while and was not fresh. I knew we needed to be early because her bakery items are flying out of the doors!! I ordered a cappuccino (small, but incredible fresh taste) and a bacon and Gruyère cheese tart. I patiently waited for my friend to order and come to the table so I could dig in!! The pastry was absolutely perfect. The crust is buttery and well prepared. The filling was tasty and well seasoned. We ordered a decadent dessert with a chocolate cookie base, chocolate cream, whipped cream, cut up brownies and then more chocolate sauce on top of that. WOW - it was just magical. The whipped cream lightened the chocolate perfectly. We then had a vegan pistachio cranberry cookie. There isn't even a picture of it because it was eaten so fast. The mix of fruit and nut flavors complimented each other well. Just delicious! We then had a peanut butter cookie with chocolate ganache that was slightly dry but the chocolate ganache saved it. Visited back in April on a Saturday - met our niece from Seminole at Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille, and our niece noticed the bakery around the corner and had to go check it out. We didn't order dessert at Harry's for this reason. The bakery/social house is very pleasant to visit, clean and inviting. We ordered a chocolate chip ganache filled cookie, cookies and cream cheesecake bar, and my husband ordered the Basque cheesecake. Of the 3 desserts the Basque Cheesecake was by far the best . We had never had this style cheesecake before, and it was fantastic. Smooth, rich, creamy, just a wonderful dessert. We live in Jacksonville, FL and travel through Ocala back and forth between Bradenton and Jacksonville and will be stopping on our way through to check out what desserts they have created for the day. First time ordering from the bakery (gluten free). I ordered a small birthday cake which the girl that took my order had the cake decorated just as I anticipated. BUT, I ordered chocolate and vanilla cupcakes ( asking that they be festive for a Christmas Party) which cost $108.00 and they were nothing more than a cupcake, icing with sprinkles!!!! I called and spoke with the Manager about them being a bakery and thought they might put a little more time in to make them festive. Walking through the door into this bakery I feel comfortable right away. Lots of comfy areas to relax in. Approaching the display case your eyes are drawn to a lovely array of various baked goodies such as cakes, macarons, cheesecake, huge cookies, some small quiches, muffins, brownies, and a few keto & gluten-free choices. The variety changes daily. The staff is very friendly and helpful as are the hands-on owners. We had the bacon/gruyére quiches and blackberry muffins with some freshly made coffee. It was all very flavorful and yummy. We were there shortly after opening time on a Thursday and some of the delicacies were fresh out of the oven. I couldn't resist getting some delicious goodies to take home with me ( I wanted one of everything but "She Who Must Be Obeyed" said NO! ). This coffee house definitely is not your cookie cutter/copy cat/run of the mill coffee shop. The interior is not busy but rather relaxing without being boring. I tried a shot of expresso and a slice of cheesecake because these are 2 items which are difficult for anyone to mess up. The expresso was good. Dark and not too bitter. But the cheesecake was fantastic. It was not overly sweet or rich but still not bland. I've tried cheesecake at other big name and well known establishments in NYC, Brooklyn, Queens, NJ, CT, TN, &PA. But none of them were as good as this one. This is easily in the top 3 cheesecakes I have ever tasted (possibly the best). If your in the area and even if your not, make a point to stop here. Selling overly elaborate cookies for there baking skills that I would not feed this to my dog if I had one! The atmosphere is really nice but that is about it and wish there deserts where even a ten percent as good as the atmosphere. The cookies where raw/undercooked and tasted old. These cookies not worth about five dollars . I do not think I would even pay for these . Bakery shops usually have a large selection of like 100 items but this place has a small selection. The selection is limited, and they try to be a little overly creative, but it's just taste like trash! For some reason, I thought it would be more like a French bakery or maybe the other bakery it's just trying to be kind of like a trendy vegan thing. Also they do not wear a hair net when they bake.
