I highly recommend Jennifer's classes, they are the most challenging! The Upper East Side studio has a few nice amenities in the bathroom and is always a comfortable space. If I had to mention one minor downside, it's just that the waiting area is a bit small and there is no changing room. This is so minor, I wouldn't let that impact the rating. Overall, both locations are fantastic, and I highly recommend Core Burn to anyone looking for a great Pilates studio!

Precision, flow, musicality, and an expectation that you move with intention. That's exactly what I look for. Blair's classes are not beginner classes. They move quickly, and that pace is a feature, not a flaw. I love it. The class assumes body awareness, coordination, and a willingness to keep up. If you're used to being talked through every micro-movement, this may not be your style. For me, it's energizing and deeply effective. For anyone new to Pilates, this studio clearly offers Foundation-level classes designed for neophytes. That's where beginners should start. Blair's classes are for students who already have a base and want to work at a higher level. I leave his classes feeling strong, focused, and challenged in the best way. Not every class is for every body, and that's a good thing. If you appreciate dance-informed Pilates, fast transitions, and an instructor who expects you to show up ready to move, Blair delivers. One last thing, because it's honestly bizarre. Some reviewers have taken pot shots at Blair's dog, a calm, friendly, well-behaved Shih Tzu who quietly exists in the studio. That says far more about the reviewer than the class. If a small, non-disruptive dog is enough to derail your workout, Pilates probably isn't the issue. Focus matters. Perspective helps. Critique the class. Don't invent villains.

It was a good match for what my body needed today. Jenna's class was challenging but with modifications to help and I appreciated her giving hands on corrections when needed. Reformer classes held next door from the main studio. Grip socks are required, you can purchase in the studio.

I went on Wednesday night for a Pilates mat class. One thing to note is that all the Pilates classes are mat, they do not have machines at this studio. Wednesday night was one of the coldest nights in NYC so i think a lot of people ended up canceling the class, because it was only me and one other student. Trust me, if it wasn't for class passes strict cancellation policy i would have canceled too, bc I did not want to leave my home in that cold. But glad I went bc it was a good class, and all in all it is only a few blocks from my apartment. The instructor was nice, hands on. It was very relaxed since there were only two of us. She helped with form and also gave modifications if certain moves were too challenging which I appreciated. While it was only 2 of us in the class, I don't think many more could have fit since it was such a small studio. MAYBE 5 people max, but they would be very close together. One thing I did not like was that you had to pay to rent a yoga mat, which you need for the Pilates mat class. You can bring your own mat, or rent theirs for $3 either cash or venmo. I don't get why they do this, they have more than 5 mats, which is the max a class can hold, and all other studios provide you with mats. But whatever!! She knows how to push you without causing joint pain which is almost impossible to find in HIIT style workouts. Since the class size is smaller you get the 1:1 benefits of a personal trainer without losing the contagious energy of a group class. If you're an introvert like me, this is the best of both worlds. I've also been to a few yoga classes on the other side of the studio and they are excellent as well for low impact, stretch days.

My body has personally seen the biggest change since taking Sculpt/Pilates classes consistently. The instructors always brings a fun, positive, welcoming energy. I feel like I get the most out of the class, with how hard I am working, not wasting time, and using the end to fully rest-which rarely happens in the city. All in all, I've been here at least 3 times and the experience is very consistent with what feels like an old school hot yoga studio with some enthusiastic practitioners and theatrical teachers. They were some of the hardest classes I've ever taken and I left both inspired and a little defeated. I would only recommend a very hydrated and somewhat experienced person exercise here, it's not for the super newbies unless you take a teacher or class title that really helps beginners. That's my most honest advice because honestly, classes are intense here. The teachers and desk staff are friendly and the facilities were spotless. The instructor and the class participants were extremely rude, clicky and condescending. In the middle of the class I was having trouble with 1 move and instead of helping me the instructor paused the class to simply say "maybe the beginner class would be better for you". It was humiliating and just gross. I immediately got up and left. i would never recommend this place or ever go back.

Within a few months my posture had changed. Kathryn is meticulous about form and has a deep understanding of body mechanics. Plus, she's a wonderful person!
