a bagel sandwich with cream and black sprinkles
Glen M.

I know Montreal is famous for bagels, but the bagel I had today was delicious. I guess it would be the equivalent to an 'everything' bagel, but so much more flavorful and fresh tasting. I had it toasted with a dill cream cheese spread. Sooo good. The service wasn't great and the gal behind the counter was not the friendliest. And although both my partner and I received food that wasn't quite what we ordered, we very much enjoyed our lunches. I'd eat here again just for the freshness of the bagels, even if the service wasn't the best.

Cream cheese veggie sandwich

Best cream cheese veggie sandwich of all the Solly's, and in the whole city! Freshest vegetables and stacked high

Every time I see "voted best in town" Im alway interested in trying. Solly claim is best bagel and best cinnamon buns. I wasn't planning on coming to Solly's but I was in the neighborhood. Overwhelmed with the board menu I asked the server for some recommendation. Very helpful I ended up with a cinnamon bun and onion bagel with smoked salmon shmear (cream cheese). Started with the bagel with smoked salmon shmear it was nice I think they over loaded it with the cream cheese but is was nice, smoked salmon worked well. The bagel was also good fresh and has a nice chew to it. The cinnamon bun was ok, I've had better. Overall it was good still not convinced its the best but good. Only several small tables, I think most people take their food to go. It was nice just to seat there and people watch.

vegetable bagelwich with homous

Yelp keeps nagging me to write about this Solly's location, so I will, even though I have written about the Main St Solly's location too. This Solly's is pretty much exactly as awesome as the other two locations in town. They are friendly to vegan, vegetarian, and omnivorous diets, with a vegan bagel sandwich right on the menu. Thanks to the rules of kosher food preparation, the bagels and knishes are vegan, which is just fantastic! I love the homous veg bagelwich at Solly's. It is satisfying and loaded with all my favourite produce. Plus, those chips are delish. One thing I don't like about this Solly's - it's tiny, and every table is inconvenient in some way. Life's tough.

Solly's Bagels is a haven for all things yummy...lemme tell you..the Jewish folks know how to make a mean cinnamon bun..who knew?? Solly's offers great bagels, cakes, buns, sandwiches pilled high with deli meat and of coarse..my favorite..Motza ball soup..*droll* They also have a cooler where you can get stuff to go..like pre-made latkes, motza ball soup and some good ole gefilte fish...words can not describe gefilte fish is simply some that needs to be experienced...and then forgotten about...and possible washed down with some manischewitz wine..They have some other kosher groceries as well like crackers, pickles, cookies etc...

Got a pumpkin/chocolate chip muffin and some bagels from here. The muffin was pretty dry but the bagel's were delicious.

Came in the afternoon. There was so line whatsoever, no one before or after me. Looked like they had some online orders. The lady who took my order was impatient when I was ordering and kept rolled her eyes when I asked if there was anything else I should try. So I only ended up ordering the one popular bagel I see everyone get. Pick up was awkward, they didn't call out a number or wave me over. They just left it on the counter till I asked. I stood near them the whole time so I would've miss my order. Overall, wouldn't come back bc of that experience but also the bagel was okay. Either way it's probably worth a try if you're in this market place anyways.

This is a Japanese bagel spot that has a variety of interesting bagels - they're more like pastries than anything. I got the matcha mochi bagel which has red bean inside, and every bite as delicious. It's fortunately served warm when you buy it, though I went at 9am so it was fairly early in their opening hours so I am not sure how it fares later on. I wished I got a savory one for comparison and to try more options but I had to save room for future meals.

Parking here totally sucks, so take the bus like a hippie. I must admit the bagel selection is pretty good here. There are both sweet and savoury varieties. The bagels seem reasonably fresh, and the flavours are pretty good. I had a shrimp salad on a jalapeno bun, and it was quite good. The bagel was pretty crunchy, and the filling was somewhat fresh. I also had their blueberry bagel with pineapple filling. This one was like eating a cake. Yum! Staff (2 Korean ladies) are very friendly. The only thing that gets me is the price. $4 for a bagel really isn't cheap. Thank goodness for those entertainment coupons.

Well, let me say first of all, that I would probably never come back, but certainly not without a coupon! Their sandwiches are ridiculously over-priced. They must slice their cheese with a razor blade, because you can practically see through it. I paid $7.11 for a ham & cheese bagel - and I found out they charge $.40 extra for a cheese bagel. They also do not let you use the coupon for salmon (lox) or the 'club' sandwiches. I asked for my bagel NOT toasted, but after eating my sandwich, I'm thinking I should've had it toasted because the bagel is not fresh. It's hard and way too chewy. I love bagels, and this is one of the worst I've had, especially considering that it's coming from a bagel shop. I can go to Subway for a FOOTLONG ham & cheese sandwich with all the fixings ($6.71) for less than what you pay for a little bagel sandwich. And Subway doesn't charge extra for their cheese bread.
