Solviva, the sunshine is alive!! Even under cloudy skies. We spent the day exploring Terranea Resort grounds, especially the look outs, gardens, the beach, the cave and a lot of beautiful spots in Rancho Palos Verdes... But this hidden and I mean hidden gem inside the Terranea Spa right by the poolside was one we were glad we tried. At first when walking over you'll see a sign for Solviva that leads to the pool, but this is not the entrance... You actually have to enter the Spa and go past reception toward the outside. The restaurant is on the right just outside the doors with tables and chairs throughout for dinning. They have fresh water dispensers and great table service. We had a wonderful server and our food came out pretty promptly. You can view the menu online easily, but I believe they can also have physical copies available upon request. It's a streamline menu of healthy eats and reasonable portions (not too big). Open for breakfast, lunch and cocktails including Zero Proof mocktails, wine and beer. For starters/apps it's classic chips and salsa, chips and guacamole, a hummus plate or seasonal fruits & berries. Breakfast - you can do overnight oats, rich avocado sweet potato + egg plate, raw chia seeds morning bowl yogurt granola, lox bagel or a combination of their sides like the breakfast potatoes, toasts, etc. Lunch has entrees in the form of salads, toast, flatbread, sandwiches/burgers or a wrap. The Vegan Flatbread was plentiful and loaded with zest. Savory rich goodness with each bite. My lunch date/super boyfriend has the Spa Cafe Signature Grilled Chicken Sandwich which has caramelized onions, dijon, in-house strawberry jam and other loaded sandwich favs. A bit messy of a lunch item with so many toppings, but he loved every bite and drop of jam. Some fun seasonal desserts on the menu such as the Vegan Apple Crisp and Macerated Seasonal Berries (fruit compote, plant-based vanilla gelato served with a warm chocolate chip cookie)... I was honestly full, but those desserts will have to happen next time for sure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With the near the pool vibe, soft breeze, plant life all around and beautiful layout I'm definitely a fan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did self-parking up near the main entrance for the resort, but valet is available. Reasonable for the area and the resort, even as tourists for the day. I know if you're a guest you can acquire some discounts and perks for restaurants. Open from 9am to 5pm daily. Q Tip: Additionally Solviva offers a weekend Sips and Sunsets every Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 7pm that includes tasting, live music and charcuterie that is a pretty good deal per person. Solviva is such a cozy little spot for your post-spa palette! Sitting pool AND oceanside, you can wine and dine in a robe or bikini, eating food that is absolutely guilt free! YEP! The menu is so so healthy and refreshing and is a completely different culinary experience! My favorites of the night were the mushroom flatbread, lamb loin and green bean salad. They have sauces for everything and I cannot describe how amazing they are. They all complement the dishes so well and I highly recommend you try this while at Terranea! If you're just eating here, it is a little walk from the lobby. You'll want to follow signs leading to the spa, but expect to go up and down a few flights of stairs. Not to worry though, the view is breathtaking so you'll already be out of breath before the stairs hahah. I highly recommend! read more

I don't know why this place does not have good review. I absolutely adore this place. My hubby and I came here for breakfast and we had such an amazing meal. I got their House Crafted Turkey Sausages with Sweet Potato Rosti, fried egg, creme fraiche and chives. I am not a sweet potato person but their sweet potato rosti was absolutely amazing. It reminds me of hash brown. It was flavorful and crunchy. Turkey sausage was also packed with flavors. I got a side of vegetable and trust me, their side grilled vegetable was so delicious. It was cooked at right level. Vegetable was not too soft nor hard especially their cauliflower, I am still dreaming about it. My hubby got their Grass Fed Flat Iron Steak served with Pinto beans, salsa verde and sunny side up egg. He also enjoyed his dish a lot and meat was cooked to perfection. I also love that they listed the nutrition content in the menu especially I am following specific diet, this is very helpful. I will def recommend this place to everyone! read more

This place is a little hard to find and tucked away near the spa and the ocean side, you need to take the stairs below the main lounge near the bungalows and go around Nelson's. We were staying at the resort and decided to check out this place for lunch before heading to our spa appointment. We were celebrating our Babymoon and our server Maureen totally made our day. Since my wife is pregnant, Maureen made sure to book a great spot for us at the pool after our spa with a Oceanside view. My wife is vegeterian and I am trying to switch to a vegan diet and there were only a few options on the menu but our server Maureen was so great in explaining the menu and even descried the specials very well. We started off with a Matcha Mojito and a Kombucha with a Wild Mushroom special appetizer that was on the menu that day. For the entree we went for vegeterian/vegan options - Farro Bowl and Purple Potato Flautas. Both entrees were very unique and very nicely done with ingredients fresh from Terranea farms. Terranea just revamped their spa cafe and opened it earlier this week as Solviva. It's in a lovely setting by the pool in the spa area. It has some kinks to be worked out, as our waitress seemed a bit green and unpolished, although she was polite and eager to please. It was more how she phrased things that could be put more eloquently, like when she described why the portions are so small (the restaurant is supposed to be wellness-centric). The main reason for the 3-star review is the food itself. It's passable but not particularly fulfilling. My husband's steak was cooked pretty well but lacked seasoning. My turkey sausage didn't have a well-balanced flavor profile but it was all right. As promised, the portions were quite small. I didn't necessarily mind this, and it was nice to go into my massage without a heavy stomach, but I think that small healthy meals can still be satisfying from a flavor standpoint. I know that Terranea is constantly evaluating how they can improve the resort so I'm sure things will continue to evolve, but for now, the food isn't going to bring me back. read more

After a 30 mile bike ride, we rewarded ourselves with a delicious lunch at Solviva, a dining spot we stumbled upon during our visit to La Terranea. We were actually headed to Nelson's and right before getting there saw the sign for Solviva in front of a stunning pool and canopy. Delighted to discover this private space, healthy, fresh food with very particular selections. Service was impeccable, Aleks took care of us, with a deep understanding of the menu, from ingredients to preparation methods. I regularly have bone broth and this was definitely homemade, the 7 day process is true. So rich. We started with a mushroom mezze and my husband had the turkey sausage sandwich, both outstanding. Fyi - We ordered food from the spa/pool side and did not dine in. To start off, I was a little upset that they opened a restaurant overlooking the spa where ANYONE can come dine , make noise (a spa pool is meant to be serene ) and watch you as you lay by the pool. To be fair, they have planted hedges to "shield" spa guest from "watching eyes". However the hedges are small and will do nothing to prevent "peeping Toms". There were a few "restaurant guests" who had snuck into the spa pool making the pool even more packed. A few were asked to leave by staff but others hid under the radar. I was super excited to hear they had changed the spa menu because the menu use to be very limited. I am so sad to say but it was near impossible to get someone to take my order, there were very few "snack/ appetizer" options (which are a must when laying by a pool) , the food took forever to get and the food was mediocre at best. The waitress who finally served us was super nice and attentive but obviously didn't have enough help and the kitchen must have been overwhelmed with the amount of time it took to get food. We ordered the burger and some sort of turkey sandwich. Both tasted very similar to each other and the "burger patty" was very similar to a "Jennie-o" preseasoned patty you can buy at the local grocery store. I also ordered the "fresh squeezed lemonade " which was definitely not fresh squeezed. I'm so sad! I was so excited to hear about the changes but it was such a let down in so many ways!!! read more

We had an amazing time at the resort this weekend! The highlight of our time was by far the amazing service we received from Maureen at Solviva. We were spending the weekend at the spa for my aunt's birthday and she made it absolutely wonderful for us. My friend wanted to take me somewhere special for my birthday, she never been there but always wanted to go. It was a very cold and windy afternoon and we parked far and started walking to not knowing where to, the man in a SUV asked us if we wanted a ride, not realizing he actual works here in Terranea resort, although his SUV was marked with the resorts logo.. we said no thank you before thinking that we should have taken the ride. The area is very beautiful and green. We walked into the beautiful resort hotel and went to the bar where a very nice lady helped us and answered questions and showed us where to go.. so we walked down many stairs looking at the big waves on the ocean, passing beautiful flowers benches and green lawns followed the path to the Spa, do we went in and ahhh the Eucalyptus scents were just amazing and rejuvenating! My friend even bought me a gift from the gift store and everyone was do helpful. Young beautiful and very friendly lady Annia greeted us and we followed her to our seat, she gave us a choice to sit where we want even though it was cold and windy we chose to sit outside by the heaters and protected from the wind. She answered all my questions since I'm on keto and she pointed out keto friendly foods and drinks! We met our server Spencer who was amazing and the good food they brought to us! I really loved our flatbread with mushrooms and blackened artichokes appetizer. There were very few guests, being in the mid week and cold, we were waited on hand and foot. We cheered as we drank to my birthday, Annia came back with a special suprise cup of berries and another dish with flourless chocolate cake!!! She said she didn't know which one I want so she gave me both!!! We thought this was such a personal gesture and felt very special here at Solviva! We enjoyed the beautiful sky blues and pink Sunset close by the pool. After we finished our meal Annia asked if we would like a ride to our car!? That was just what we needed because at that point it was dark cold and windy and I was thinking to my self how will I walk all those steps back up to our car it'll probably take us 30 min to get there! So our guy also named Spencer was God sent to us! So my friend is telling him where we are and he said I know exactly where you're parked! Turns out that was him that asked us in the beginning of our journey to take us. I thought were going on a golf cart but as we followed Spencer we saw it's the SUV and car was heated just a perfect end to a beautiful experience at this new Solviva restaurant and Terranea resort. We were so excited and happy with the whole experience and service!!! We would definitely want to come back on a warm and sunny day! I altered the menu that had charred Avocado and had them just give me a plain cut up avocado as well as instead of cauliflower, I had asked for some sautéed zucchini which they were more than happy to switch out with. Solviva is such a cute little restaurant nestled in Terranea's spa building. The service is impeccable, everyone is so friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. Everything is very healthy, and they have great vegetarian options. Not badly priced either. It's very casual, some people here are even dressed in their robes from the spa. We went here to celebrate my birthday with a spa day and wanted to have lunch after our treatments. This restaurant was very pricey for the extremely small portions of food. $19 for 2 small bites of tuna in the Niçoise salad and we had a very small flatbread. My husband and I were both very hungry after ordering 2 dishes. We wished that we had just walked over to Nelson's to get a good meal. The only good part about the restaurant were the drinks. My husband had the sunset mule and I had the rejuvenate which were really yummy. I'd skip eating here next time and go to Nelson's or i would recommend packing some snacks. read more

Went for breakfast this past Saturday. Food looked and tasted great, but with the price I paid I was expecting a little more. Went poolside for drinks afterwards, where my server Tatianna recommended the sunset mule and flatbread. Really happy with her recommendation and service. This food basically ruined our whole spa experience! We ordered the field green salad with goat cheese, purple flautas, and pesto flatbread. The salad could of been 100 times better if they added real strawberry's, I also paid more to add chicken that ended up being bone in and flavorless!! The flautas were a complete joke!!! Out of everything the flatbread was the tasty thing we ordered except it was so tiny the 2 of us each had 2 bites and it was gone. I spend 300.00 on 1 service then another 200.00 at this restaurant to save me from starving and it was incredibly disappointing!!! Guess it's my fault though for thinking I could actually stay in the spa area to take care of all my needs for 1 day. Don't do it!! Leave the spa, go get lunch at the Catalina kitchen or Nelson's or the lobby bar. There's enough restaurants on sights to make a person satisfied for a day. This will not do it. This has been the most disappointing food experience of all my years coming to Terrena. They couldn't even get the drinks right!! We were thinking at 1 point if we drank enough it would be ok but it never happened!!! We're locals that came here many times in the past absolutely loving the snack, drink bar they had before putting this restaurant in. We were really hoping this restaurant would put our experience over the top!! Nope, walk to the next spot, enjoy your food and scenery, then walk back to the spa. Not to mention after all that they then put us on lock down cuz there was a crazy guy running naked they said on the golf course!!! Nothing good on the menu. Big step down from the delicious food available before when having a spa day at Terranea. As other reviewers have said the portions are very small and expensive. I don't think the flavors work well together, the presentation is unappealing and the textures are weird together. For example their avocado toast doesn't come on toast but on a sweet potato with a poached egg. Just a bunch of mushy textures all together and it's very difficult to eat a super runny egg with no toast to soak it up. It was 16.00 with no sides and it was literally a small sweet potato with 1 egg on it and a few scoops of avocado. Also they got rid of their coffee bar at the pool / spa which used to have delicious iced lattes. When I pay close to 400.00 for a spa treatment there should be some good and tasty options for food which can include lighter options and also vegetarian options for those who want that. read more
