I recently went to a party where all the food was from Truxtons! The food was delicious. I took photos. There were salmon skewers, Bistro Salad, various sandwiches, fruit, hummus and veggies pickled cucumbers, penne pasta, and skewers of tomato, cheese with basil .Everyone at the party raved about how good the food tasted. Of course the host displayed the food beautifully. Parking: free parking in the front a little hard to find the area because it is on a hill. Service: super friendly staff that may be too friendly to a fault we went at 9 AM on a Saturday morning so no wait staff does give you plenty of time to decide. Sometimes you do need to wave them down if you need things a little faster. Food: amazing American food - well seasoned. Sounds like you can customize anything - if they have it they will do it. Went to Truxton's and honestly, it was just a really good meal. Parking was easy (always appreciate that). Service was super friendly and attentive without being over the top. I got the Portland Burger medium rare -- thick, juicy, cooked just right. Definitely hit the spot. I chose the garlic Parmesan fries and I'm glad I did... they were so good. We also tried Donna's Fish & Chips. The cod tasted fresh, not overly fried at all. Nice crunch outside, moist inside. It came with chipotle mayo and tartar sauce, plus more of those garlic Parmesan fries. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake with caramel gelato and chocolate shavings. Decadent!!! Super rich but worth it. Overall, just a solid place with good food and good service. We'll be back. read more

I picked this location because customers rave about how good the turkey pot pie is and everything is made in house. However, to my surprise this is only a seasonal item during the holidays. Hannah, my server was thrilled to make some other suggestions and I am happy I took her advice. The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing. The pesto buttered bread was also incredible. This location has a full bar and an enclosed patio dining area that is extremely cozy. Super nice staff and eager to win your dining business. I will be back to try more things from the menu. Great food and service. Waitress was Katrina. What a nice, and friendly lady. She went above and beyond with everything! We ordered the Truxton's house salad. And a chicken baguette sandwich. And the French onion soup, and another chicken baguette sandwich. Delicious food! The salad had romaine lettuce, I believe feta cheese, and some other goodies. The French Onion was the best. I haven't been here in a while and me and my husband came to have brunch. We started with a bottle of Bellini's and I noticed the menu item I usually ordered wasn't on the menu anymore. I've been here a couple of times. This place is average an I think overpriced. The service is also pretty average. The last time we were here the server seemed like she didn't really want to be there and wasn't very enthusiastic about checking in on us to see if we needed anything. The tuna sandwich is lacking a flavor. Not sure if it needs sweet or acid, but it's missing something. The garlic fries are pretty good though. We had the most amazing experience at Truxton's last night. We love Truxton's in general but the service the night we were there was AMAZING! Addie is VERY PERSONABLE & FRIENDLY!!! This American Bistro is a beast with their portion size. Truxtons offers a big selection of delicious menu items with healthy portions. The chicken and waffles (w/ bacon!) were pretty solid, made me cluck. The servers were nice and very helpful, restaurant was clean and organized with accommodations for small and large groups. We were excited to finally try Truxstons after living nearby for years, but the experience was disappointing from the moment we were seated. Despite there being more spacious seating available, we were placed in a very tight booth that was uncomfortable and not adjustable. When we sat down, the table was soaking wet, and menus were placed directly on it--so wet that they stuck to the surface. What was especially upsetting was that shortly afterward, the same host stopped another family from sitting at a nearby table specifically because it was wet, saying he didn't want their arms to get wet or the menus to stick. This courtesy was not extended to us. The inconsistency made us feel overlooked and uncomfortable. We understand mistakes happen, but equal consideration for all guests should be a baseline. A hidden Gem close to home. Stumbled upon this place and gave it a try. As we arrived we waited a bit while they set up the table. The waitress was great and attentive if we needed anything. The food shocked me but was very flavorful and well served. We got the Wings as an appetizer and they were tangy but so delicious and messy. The Shanghai Bowl was my absolute favorite and can't wait to have it again the chicken was crunchy and had great flavor and love the mix of everything and the crunch of the veggies. The All American burger was juicy and the fries were great. The Sambal Avocado bowl was finger licking good. The Ambiance was pretty chill, there was bar area and the inside is not that big but there is an outdoor covered area that you can sit at as well and there is plenty of seats and booths there. Our server was very intuitive, very knowledgeable of his craft, offered recommendations, very friendly and warm. Turkey melts in your mouth, seasoning has a distinct delicious flavor 10/10, chef's kiss! Side of sweet potato fries which was cooked well, no ounce of soggy-ness. 2. Rotisserie Chicken (with a choice of either 1/4 or 1/2: this one's on their Favorites Menu and I get why it is. Because the chicken is so soft and tender, seasoned so perfectly, cooked so well, falls off the bone so so yummy!!! Another 10/10! My book club loves meeting here because the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I like going here because they have a diverse menu so people with food restrictions can find something. Great place to go for dinner! We started with the pretzel which had cheese and mustard for dipping. The pretzel was good, but nothing exceptional. The candied jalapeño chicken burger was good! We frequented truxton's in Westchester as they were getting their start. The food then was excellent, but they had to refine their menu to make it scalable. Food is still good, reliable just not the five star locals joint. It started out to be. The food is probably a three 3 and 1/2 star- some items are better than others so I'm downgrading from four stars to three and a half for consistency. Truckston's Torrance is at the base of the PV Hills, nice little location, easy parking until they're crowded and then you might have to park off site and walk a bit. Comfortable interior, nothing to write home about- varied menu, so something for everyone. In my party the latest visit I was able to try the following. The catsu chicken is delicious, salmon bowl really tasty, Chinese chicken salad pretty boring and lacked crunch and some of the ingredients, And some sort of candied jalapeno ground chicken burger was not something I would recommend. It was fair to Midland and not my thing. I had a spicy mezcal pineapple cocktail recommended by the wait person, it was eh. Sounded far more creative and yummy than it actually was. Though we frequent the Westchester location to visit relatives nearby, I think they overall food consistency is pretty similar. They've done a good job of duplicating the location, consistency, but at the expense of their original food quality. It's still a good hangout spot, reliable and for chain- they do a good job. read more

There is definitely something for everyone, including healthy menu options. Today, I opted for the ahi poke bowl. It was to die for. The tuna was incredibly fresh. The ingredients were heavenly. Ha ha. Admittedly, the bowl had a lot of rice/quinoa, but plenty of the goodies that filled the bowl, too. I completely over ate because I just absolutely loved this dish. As a side note, they used a Sriracha mayo. It did not taste spicy to me and they didn't overdo it on the sauce. It was just the right amount to add flavor to the dish without drowning it/turning it into mush. My Mom and aunts have been raving about this place to me for a while now. That my wife and I had to go. We finally did today on Friday around 5:15. We were sat immediately. Our server came to our table very soon after being seated to take our drink order and food order soon after. Service was great. Very attentive. We started with the monkey bread as a starter. Very good. The bread comes with three sauces to dip, ranch, garlic butter, and marinara. My favorite is marinara. I ordered the crispy fish tacos and my wife ordered the curry. We both liked our entrees. Very good. I would order the same thing again. I ordered the banana pudding and my wife had the apple tart. I love banana cream pie so I knew I'd like the pudding. Tasted so good. My wife's tart was also good and tasted like a apple pie. Not a single disappointing thing about this place from the restaurant, service and the food. There was a long line for brunch and I can totally see why. This is bistro or gastropub type food at its finest. Very well seasoned, creative and with a large variety. My favorite dish was the Portland Burger - it sounds simple but the combination of sautéed wild mushrooms, fontina cheese, blend of caramelized & crispy onions and roasted garlic on toasted brioche buns really hits the spot.
