Love this restaurant, it is on the pricey side but it does not disappoint. The service is outstanding and friendly. The view sitting outside looking out towards the ocean is unreal and watching the sun set is a beautiful sight. Food is delicious everything from the appetizers to dessert are over the top as far as taste and presentation. The wagyu stuffed ravioli special - so good and not heavy, Ibérico Pork Coppa was amazing and was more like a short rib to me than a pork chop but nonetheless so good. Grilled octopus appetizer was so tender and good but it did have a little kick of spice to it but that didn't change anything. Desserts - Chocolate Dulcey Pot De Crème was so good and wasn't overly sweet or rich, the cookies and sea salt help it out with balance and the pavlova is a bright and refreshing dessert good for a nice end to the meal and to enjoy after a hot day.

Beautiful outdoor ambiance with exceptional food and first-class service. It was a wonderful venue for a birthday dinner, timed such that sunset and the beautiful view onto Catalina island could be enjoyed. Delicious bread and butter, oysters, grilled octopus, burrata, diver scallops, sea bream, lamb loin, Chilean sea bass, and the pappardelle were all on point, tender, flavorful, and beautifully arranged. And the desserts were a nice finishing bouquet: raspberry and lemon, blueberry cheese cake, Old fashioned ... PS: the drive there from East (110 freeway) is dangerous due to ground shifting and bumps: go slow!

We had dinner while staying at the Terranea last week. The best I can say about this restaurant is the view. We made reservations through the resort because making one via Open Table would have required a credit card and we were planning to apply our dinner charges to our room. The views are spectacular if seated outside before sunset. We had reservations at their 5 pm opening. Compared to a year ago, we were a little disappointed with the food. There were some steak options for over $200, but not many seafood options that I can recall. Portions were small for the price point. I inquired about having the scallop appetizer made into an entree. Our server said it would double the price and I'd only get 4 scallops instead of 2. The lobster bisque was delicious as it had a small tail in it. Their bread was not worth $16. My husband had the beef filet for $85. I opted for 2 appetizers as I couldn't find anything else to order. Nice restaurant for special occasions if you're looking for an ocean view.

I had a beautiful meal with exceptional service! The ambience is calm and relatively quiet compared to most restaurants. The view is spectacular. This is formal dining at its best - purse hook offered, dark napkin to avoid lint, amuse bouche, cutlery replaced with each course, incredibly knowledgeable server, an extra surprise from the chef. I thoroughly enjoyed beef carpaccio, truffle pasta and sea bream. Absolutely a "full bar" with a lovely variety of old world wines available by the glass, as well as digestifs.

The best restaurant at Terrenea, hands down. The outdoor view is incredible. The staff was all extremely nice. While waiting for a table, the bartender went out of his way to come over and make sure we got drinks. All the food was incredible. The staff were moving quick to make sure no one was ever waiting. The friendliest people on the property.

Came to Mar'sel for my birthday dinner and had an exceptional experience. The dedication to classiness and attention to detail is unmatched. Steven, my server, and his assistant Martin gave me and my fiancée 5 star treatment that could never compare to a fancy steakhouse like Mastro's, Sterlings, Ruth Chris, and Flemings. They were very professional yet down to earth at the same time! From the moment we walked in the door we felt as if we were transported into a European vacation. The hostess kindly greeted us and brought us to our table. She pulled out both of our chairs, set the napkin on our laps, and placed the menus in our hands which made us feel welcomed and taken care of from the start! Even as we passed by other servers and assistants, they all smiled and greeted us. We also had amazing sunset pictures taken by both Steven and Martin! They both treated us with so much attention, kindness, and sophistication which is truly appreciated when celebrating a special occasion. Thank you to Istvan Kiss, the manager, for personally greeting us at our table and being so kind. The service that the Mar'sel team provided made my birthday such a special night and I don't think I could never look at any other restaurant the same after dining here... and that's the catch. (It's a pretty good catch though)

Food: 5/5 We got the lamb and the pappardelle pasta with duck ragu. The lamb was very tender and juicy and the pasta was very tasty. I think their menu rotates every once in a while. Ambience: 5/5 The ocean view is amazing. Definitely adds to the restaurants allure. Parking: 3/5 I'm not sure if there's any parking outside of valet... Service: 5/5 Servers are super nice and friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Price: 3/5 Price is a little expensive and I think you could get similar food for cheaper elsewhere but you're really coming here for the experience. The portions are also a little on the smaller side.

This is a very delayed update but one worth noting since the management was exceptional in responding to my review and extending another invitation to their restaurant. Mr. Kiss was incredibly accommodating and attended to every single request along with his staff. I will gladly return with my family since this place is special.

My fiancé and I came here for our engagement dinner and it was an amazing experience to say the least. Our server Felix went above and beyond to make sure that we had a night to remember. He started off by seating us outside next to a glass fire heater with the most amazing view of the moonlight over the water and Cliff side lights. He then recommended we start off with some Barada cheese, Spanish artichokes and the most amazing bread service you can ever imagine. For dinner, she had the lobster risotto which is just superior to anything we've had before and I chose the coastal lamb that was simply just the tastiest I've ever had. By that time we were filled to the point where we couldn't think of dessert, but he still insisted on bringing us out some cheesecake that I still think about in my dreams. I can't stress enough that Felix had made that night amazing and treated us like family from the very beginning. It doesn't get any better when it comes to the customer service. He is simply the best!!!! 100/10 Experience!!!! If you're looking for the best service for your special night be sure to ask for Felix!!!!!!

Those three little cookies were gold. I still can't stop thinking about them.

Food was amazing. We sat outside with an amazing view of the ocean, and the weather was perfect. Our server Ben was so pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable. He helped us make some good food choices. The scallops were my favorite thing on the menu. I also really love the cookies that came with the dessert at the end. I can't stop thinking about them. They were like chocolate chip sea salt, shortbread cookies. I would eat a whole sleeve of those if I could buy them. Can't wait to go back again.

Carrot, turnip with pea and avocado purée and pieces of pomegranate.

First, I'd like to start off by saying the host, waiters & staff were great! Especially Jesus, he was very kind and knowledgeable and really helped you choose the perfect dish to enjoy. Second, the food was delicious! I started off with some buttery mouth watering Caviar (1st time trying Caviar ) followed by a medium to well done filet mignon steak that was perfect! Lastly, the Ambiance was just so elegant and relaxed. A lot of people laughing and having a good time. So if anybody out in the world wants to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing night that includes excellent food, I definitely would recommend Mar'sel!!! ,5 stars

Is there a kids menu? If so, what's on the menu?

Yes there was. Steak, pasta and other options

Is there a bar where you can go in for a cocktail?

Absolutely! A very nice bar with great cocktails.

Can guys get away with wearing a hat?

This is an upscale restaurant. You may feel odd wearing a hat due to the lack of etiquette.

Are service dogs allowed on patio?

    Yes

Can we order and have it delivered to our room?

No. The Resort has a complete in room dining service with its own kitchen. Most items are not available to go as the sauces and delicate garnishes do not transport well.

And after a number of years patroning the Four Season's Beverly Hills brunch on Doheny I wanted to try something new. There's not many decadent, birthday worthy brunch options in our post Covid world. So when I found this one, read the menu and saw the price point I was ALL in. And my goodness it blew last year at the four seasons away by a lot!!! (They dipped significantly after Covid - not the same value). The Trump had EVERYTHING you could want in a brunch. Sushi, free flowing champagne, prime rib, crepes, crab, waffles, eggs Benedict, pancakes, chocolate dipped fruit, breads, bagels, cheeses, salad, Korean short ribs, shrimp, shrimp scampi, pasta, omelettes, oysters, fruit & figs, and sausage & bacob. I know for a fact I am missing offerings. It was world class, A+ with live music and wonderful service. The views of the pacific were gorgeous on our blustery day. My goodness it was so pretty. We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.

No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!

Once located though, I was disappointed on several fronts. First, there is no view of the ocean cause this restaurant's outdoor area is next the pool area so not only do you not get a view but you have to listen to kids at the pool. Next is the service. There seems to be plenty of waiters around yet for some reason the service is slow. Lastly, when we showed up on a Sunday for brunch, they told me that only the buffet was available, no ala carte. Interesting. Ok so I went to the omelet station and the cook behind the counter was friendly enough but was working 2-3 skillets/customers at once. As you can imagine, my omelet tasted overcooked. On a positive note, it's a very beautiful restaurant and is very clean. I dunno, overall I'd say this place is fine if you're staying at the resort but if you travel here, like I did, it may not be worth the time traveled plus the expensive price (approximately $100 per person)

Breathtaking sunset views, but a special occasion completely ruined by hostile service…read more I came here to celebrate a very special day, and while Nelson's boasts one of the most stunning oceanfront views in LA, our experience was heavily tarnished by a completely unacceptable level of service from our specific server. First, the positives: The location is unmatched. Having dinner while watching the gorgeous sunset over the Pacific was unforgettable. The tall male host at the entrance was also wonderfully kind, professional, and set a great tone for the evening. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag but mostly good. The burgers and tacos were flavorful and delicious. However, I would skip the Fried Calamari--it was almost entirely heavy batter, and it felt like there was barely any actual squid inside. Unfortunately, our dining experience took a sharp turn for the worst due to our female server. We were served our main courses before our salads or appetizers ever made it to the table, and we weren't even given any utensils to eat with. After waiting and searching for our server to no avail, I flagged down another staff member to ask for utensils and let them know about the missing appetizers. Shortly after, our server marched over to our table with an incredibly defensive and intimidating attitude, asking us if we had "complained" about her to another staff member. The hostile tone was shocking. To top it off, she forgot our drinks, and when we had to ask for them again, she gave us an exasperated, annoyed look. It is so disappointing when a beautiful, special occasion is ruined by someone's terrible attitude. While the scenery and most of the food were fantastic, management really needs to address the service standards here.

But he insisted. As soon as we got to a covered place right by the door he told me to keep the umbrella and use it for the rest of the night. I wish I had his name. He was absolutely amazing and he went above and beyond I will say, the staff here are all amazing. Even the comment about the waiter, Carson being a little slow, he was great, he was just taking care of sooooo many different people This was still such a fun time! I loved having some small food bites and drinks with my girl. The tree inside and outside was still lit up To be honest I love the lobby bar. It was raining, but it still had nice views. I love the different seating. They have a large community table, separate tables, they have nice leather chairs but I really wanted the couch area to not be taken up. If I'm comfortable, Have a bff with me And I'm drinking? I could have stayed all night. I would of lived there Bathroom is also very close to the lobby bar Parking is good for me. The handicap parking is up close and I don't have to pay a fee because the handicap sticker. (If you don't have a handicap sticker unfortunately the parking can be far or expensive) If you go to places like the Spa or restaurants closer to the water. They have people on golf carts take you all around the grounds to where you are going So I highly suggest not just coming to the lobby bar and to check out more of the resort. I could spend hours here I can't wait for the gingerbread lounge for Christmas 2026.

We came here on a weeknight looking for a late dinner in South Redondo. They were busy but we…read morefortunately got a table for two without reservations. My daughter and I shared the Caesar Salad and Chicken Paillard. The salad was good. I added the smoked fish which had a slightly sweet taste so it was not my daughter's favorite. The Chicken Paillard was amazing! The jidori chicken is very juicy but the sauce takes it to another level. I would order that dish again. Their staff is very nice and helpful. The server who kept refilling our drinks recommended we order french fries to dip into the chicken paillard sauce since we raved about it. That was a good suggestion since we were sharing the dish. Overall, this restaurant was just our style. It is cozy but elevated, the staff is attentive, and the food and wine are delicious.

I ordered from the prix fixe menu and had the clam chowder, steak and prawns, and cheesecake. The chowder was fantastic, would definitely order again. There were clams and a mussel in there still with their opened shells and lots of tasty broth. Quite filling for an appetizer. The steak was good and the prawns were just okay - maybe a little overcooked. The cheesecake brûlée stole the show!! Would definitely eat again in a heartbeat.
