Great value happy hour 4-530 daily. Tasty & only $10 - empanadas, Korean bulgogi beef tacos, fried calamari, chicken sliders! Complimentary Brazilian cheese bread. Yum. The happy hour margarita was weak. Service was ok. But given the tasty food, great price and pleasant ambiance, I'd still recommend this place & rate it 5 stars Side note - I returned the next morning bc on weekends, they have an incredible Korean bagel pop up. Omgosh. Delish. So light and soft inside with a perfectly and delicately outer crisp. Addicted.

**Bagel review only** Holy smokes. They got a bagel pop-up going on select weekends, you need to order a day ahead. The bagels are so freaking good. They are Korean style - soft AF, sweeter schmear. The garlic stuffed bagel was the headliner for sure. The lox bagel was fine but definitely not in the wheelhouse. It was good just not stacked and the primo fixins you'd want. Hot tip check it!

Pre ordered via Instagram DM (I believe they changed the ordering system after this weekend) The Korean cheese bagel wasn't our favorite. The jalepeno cheddar bagel with the scallion cream cheese was amazing! Service was very friendly and we enjoyed them on the patio. Would come back for the scallion cream cheese!

I recently tried the Brick Roasted Chicken--deboned chicken with rosemary lemon butter; seasonal greens; and mashed potatoes ($29.00). The cooking method uses a weight, often a brick, to roast the chicken evenly and flatten it for more surface area, resulting in a browned, crispy skin. It was a well-balanced plate with a main and two sides. The chicken had robust flavor from both the seasoning and the browning.

Came here on a weekday evening with family. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. We actually entered through the back entrance and had to walk through the whole restaurant to get to the front to check in. Luckily we had a reservation and were seated right away, next to the kitchen. I ordered the seafood pan roast, which was a little misleading because it wasn't really a "roast" at all. It reminded me more of a lobster bisque, especially since it came with garlic bread on the side that was perfect for dipping into the soup. It did have a decent amount of seafood in it overall; very delicious and filling! One standout dish our family ordered was the branzino. The whole fish was served and stuffed beautifully, and it was incredibly buttery and flavorful -- definitely a must-order if you're dining here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of it...we just dug right in LOL It's definitely on the pricier side, so I'm not sure if I'd come back, but it would be a nice spot for a special occasion.

The Perfect Date Night Vibe & Great Food! If you're looking for a great place to have a lunch or dinner date, this is it. The vibe here is really cool, and the overall atmosphere is fantastic. I brought my wifey here for our Valentine's Dinner, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A huge shoutout to the staff, too--the customer service was excellent and really added to the great atmosphere of the evening. Now, let's talk about the food, which was pretty good across the board: Seafood Pan Roast (9/10): This was the star of the show for me. Packed with flavor, rich, and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend! Spicy Vodka Rigatoni (8/10): A really solid dish. It had a nice kick to it and the pasta was great. I was also taking a look at their menu and their happy hour special seems incredibly enticing. Between that and the great service we received, I would definitely come back. Highly recommend checking them out for your next date night!

Food: Sugo Social started us off with a complimentary appetizer, and honestly, it was a pleasant surprise, warm, tasty, and especially good with the accompanying sauce. For mains, the Seafood Pan Roast was the standout: savory, hearty, and comforting, with snow crab, shrimp, and prawns over jasmine rice. The Shrimp Miso Pasta came with thick, chewy noodles and a rich miso‑based sauce, plus prawns, bacon, and mushrooms, flavorful and satisfying without being overpowering. The Yuzu Highball was refreshing, citrusy, and light, exactly the kind of cocktail you want with richer dishes. It wasn't the best meal of my life, but everything was solid, well‑executed, and enjoyable. Price: Sugo Social leans toward the pricier side for the South Bay, with many signature dishes hovering around the high‑$20s. The Seafood Pan Roast at $28 and the Shrimp Miso Pasta at $28 reflect that higher-end positioning, but the portions and ingredients help justify it. Drinks and cocktails (including the Yuzu Highball) aren't listed with prices online, but expect typical upscale lounge pricing. Overall, it's not cheap, but fair for a date-night restaurant with elevated Korean‑Italian fusion flair. Ambiance: Nighttime is where Sugo Social shines. The decor leans upscale, warm lighting, stylish interior, and a modern, high‑class feel without being pretentious. It's the kind of place that works perfectly for date nights, celebrations, or a classy hangout with the girlies. The plaza around it has definitely become more lively compared to a few years ago, giving the whole area a pleasant evening buzz. Service: Service is friendly and efficient. Staff stay attentive without hovering, and dishes come out at a good pace even during busier hours. The general vibe is relaxed but polished, a balance that fits the fusion concept well. Parking: A huge plus for the South Bay: the plaza has its own dedicated parking structure, and it's free. No need to circle the block or pay for a cramped lot. Between the easy parking and the increasingly lively plaza, getting in and out is pretty painless.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend who had a really good experience recently. We made our reservation but it was still a long wait. The waitress seemed frustrated as well because it's the manager's decision to overbook. We knew we wanted ordered octopus pasta and chicken karage but unsure of another entree. The waitress recommended the brick roasted chicken that's been deboned and brined so it's really juicy. The dishes took a bit to get here because the kitchen was really busy. The complementary cheese bread was really good and eased our hunger haha. I really liked the octopus pasta. The octopus was cooked until very tender and the pasta soaked up all the seafood flavor. The karage was decent. However, we were a bit disappointed with the checked. It's ok but almost brined for too long so the meat is a bit mealy. It's a nice space and food is overall tasty. Hopefully they can work out the operational kinks so it will be a smoother experience for everyone.

Food was so yummy! Went for a girl date with my friend & we both enjoyed what we ordered. Service was attentive & we even got complimentary Brazilian cheese bread, it was delicious & so warm. We had asked if we could get another one & our sweet server gave us another one for free!!! :,) Super cute aesthetic inside too, perfect for photo ops. Can't wait to go back! steak was $36, salmon was $32. The chimmichurri that came with the steak was amazing as well

It's beautiful inside. The design and decor are exceptional. The food is good, I would just say customer service was lacking. Not the friendliest and I literally had to approach someone for help. Also, when I went, there were very few people inside. It wasn't like it was super busy or even busy at all, but maybe it was an off day for them?

Located in the Palos Verdes Mall. Under the movie theatre. Ordered the calamari, pork bao bun, and hot honey Sopressata pizza The calamari was crisp and tender with a seasoning that had just the right amount of kick. The pork bao buns were soft and flavorful with savory pork balanced by the pickled toppings and sauce. The hot honey Sopressata pizza was the standout. It wasn't that spicy and had that good amount of sweetness. With a pillowy crust that held up well under the toppings Service was friendly and attentive and the space had a casual yet modern vibe. The interior was nicely decorated. The colorings of the restaurant was spot on. Highly recommend.

Great happy hour deals and a fun vibe to catch up with friends. Cheese bread: complementary. Very very good. Calamari: good but nothing memorable and small portions. Shrimp taquitos: delicious with a refreshing salsa. Get this Chicken sliders: a solid option but I would pick the others over this. Great price during happy hour. Truffle pizza: delicious pizza with pieces of garlic. Must get Yuzu chili mocktail: delicious with the perfect kick. I typically don't like spicy drinks and loved this. Service/ambience: very friendly and quick service. The decoration and ambience look very nice but chill. Parking: plenty in a lot

    Liv B.

3.5 to be fair. The cheese bread was good though it was only complimentary for one plate. Service was alright but a bit on the slower side. The seafood stew came with just two large prawns and was quite heavy. The Bolognese was okay, nothing particularly outstanding. Overall, a decent experience but not very memorable.

One of my favorite spots on the Peninsula to slow down, grab a drink, and let the night unfold. The room has great energy, ocean views, glowing fireplaces, and a crowd that's clearly happy to be there. It's the kind of place where you settle into a chair, sip something strong, and suddenly two hours disappear. What makes it special is the live music. Local musicians play most nights from about 7-11pm, creating the perfect soundtrack for the evening. This past Saturday we stopped in after dinner at Nelson's on the property, an excellent combination. We caught Olivia Pucci, who lit up the Terranea lobby in a striking red dress, delivering smooth, soulful vocals that set the tone immediately. Her mix of pop, jazz, and mellow classics is perfect for cocktails and oceanfront vibes, backed by a tight trio on piano/keyboard and guitar. Honestly, this is Palos Verdes at its best: great drinks, live music, ocean air drifting in, and a relaxed crowd enjoying the moment. The best nights are the ones where you stop watching the clock and just soak it all in, this is exactly that kind of place.

And I were so excited to come to - The Gingerbread lounge. Which is located inside their main lobby bar. Especially during the holidays) so it's safe to say the atmosphere is great. The gingerbread lounge offers -Cocktails -Mocktails -snacks / desserts. mostly cookies. They have about 12 different sweets. And it runs from -November 29, to Friday, January 2; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.  Unfortunately, we got there and it was closed. There's a few different dates circulating around saying it closes on the 2, 3rd and one place Even said the 5th. A worker did say they closed before the end date though. (We should have called. Especially with a couple different dates circulating for the gingerbread lounge) So we were not able to enjoy the gingerbread lounge. However, they did have enough to make 2 different cocktails from their limited menu. Which I got the- CLAUSMOPOLITAN - Ketel One Oranje Vodka, Cranberry and Vanilla Bean Puree, Lime Juice and a Frosted Sugar Rim (I don't think they did the sugar rim. Which is fine. They were out of everything from the pop up bar) They were all out of the dessert options from the gingerbread bar So we ordered from the regular menu. We got a lobby seat. Which, the lobby is very nice. Has great seating, couches and etc. has a couple fire places. I went to the bar and asked them how it worked. I was able to have my drink made, and I took it to my table while he sent the waiter over to take our other orders. Carson was very very friendly. But since it was busy he really wasn't to be found I ordered the-MARGHERITA PIZZA fior di latte, tomato sauce, basil (This is a one size pizza, it's not huge, but it's great if you're sharing other things) this was delicious But I'll be honest. I came for the drinks. I asked the bartender at the main bar area if he could make me something special. I wanted the - pornstar (he laughed, and agreed to it) Carson, our server dropped it off at our table right at the same time as Michelle's drink came out. Michelle had the -EQUINOX * lyre's agave blanco, hibiscus, lemon (This was delicious AND beautiful. Loved the color of it) Michelle also ordered -CARAMEL CRÈME BRULEE CHEESECAKE caramel cheesecake, crème brulee, baci crust seasonal berries tossed in mango passion compote I then had the bartender pick a drink for me. He went with the very popular-UNDER THE PALMS. tito's handmade vodka, lillet rosé, lemongrass, pandan, lemon, coconut water Very refreshing! I could drink these at the pool or at a polo match and just relax. P.S- this place also offers flights! It was also a very very rainy day. And valet was amazing!!!!! He saw me walking in heels and carrying Michelle's gift bag and my purse. He stood next to me with the umbrella. I kept telling him he didn't have to and I actually love the rain lol. But he insisted. As soon as we got to a covered place right by the door he told me to keep the umbrella and use it for the rest of the night. I wish I had his name. He was absolutely amazing and he went above and beyond I will say, the staff here are all amazing. Even the comment about the waiter, Carson being a little slow, he was great, he was just taking care of sooooo many different people This was still such a fun time! I loved having some small food bites and drinks with my girl. The tree inside and outside was still lit up To be honest I love the lobby bar. It was raining, but it still had nice views. I love the different seating. They have a large community table, separate tables, they have nice leather chairs but I really wanted the couch area to not be taken up. If I'm comfortable, Have a bff with me And I'm drinking? I could have stayed all night. I would of lived there Bathroom is also very close to the lobby bar Parking is good for me. The handicap parking is up close and I don't have to pay a fee because the handicap sticker. (If you don't have a handicap sticker unfortunately the parking can be far or expensive) If you go to places like the Spa or restaurants closer to the water. They have people on golf carts take you all around the grounds to where you are going So I highly suggest not just coming to the lobby bar and to check out more of the resort. I could spend hours here I can't wait for the gingerbread lounge for Christmas 2026.

The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. I left feeling so uplifted and relaxed all at the same time. Despite it being on the noisier side, I was still able to hear my friend well and it was such a great place for us to catch up. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

We had a really good time here watching the Western Conference Finals! My husband had the lemon…read morepepper wings which he enjoyed, and 2 beers. I ordered the pastrami on rye (basically a Reuben) which was good. I wish it had more meat and it was half sliced, half chopped. Theirs seems to be all chopped up and crisped, which gives it a nice texture and almost bacon-y vibe. Messy but good. I had a side salad which was also good. Overall our meal was great and there were TVs visible from anywhere you sat, which is perfect for a sports bar. My big gripe is being charged $1 for pickles to go with a sandwich. Maybe you get more if they put them directly on the sandwich, but they forgot mine so the pickles came in a ramekin. 6 pickle slices for $1.

With new ownership comes an affiliated new crowd coinciding w/ old crowd. You could cut the tension in the air w/ someone's pocket knife because you just felt at least one person was packing. I never felt the need to look over my shoulder regularly thru the night til now. Territorial is an understatement. It could be your first visit, and you could tell two different groups were there. Service was disappointing. A customer is a customer, but I noticed new ownership neglected old crowd to tend to her crowd or anything else to keep her "busy." Meanwhile, original bartenders were bending over backwards for everybody. We, in the old crowd, are familiar enough w/ each other for some small talk at the bar while waiting for drinks. They were as confused and shocked as I was about the service. I don't even want to mention what I saw in owner/staff interactions, but I'ma just leave it at sad. It was just sad. I'm not a regular regular, but Southland was the spot for my friends and me when we wanted a night out together for past couple years. Now, we're back to bar-hopping for a new spot because The Alley Bar ain't it. I'd give her benefit-of-the-doubt because she just picked up the place, but benefit would imply I saw an effort in keeping old crowd loyal while inviting new life, too--yeah, no benefit here. R.I.P. Southland, thanks for all the fun.
