Sugo Social is a stellar Asian fusion restaurant in the PV mall. There is a good amount of parking here and it is about a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. Inside, they have a really nice setup with a lot of seating. Wifey and I stopped by for brunch with the homies and got a spread consisting of the Corn Chowder Soup, Bulgogi Loaded Fries, Bolognese, Vodka Rigatoni, and the Korean Fried Chicken. Went here for the first time and it was very surprising! I wasn't sure what to expect from this Asian fusion restaurant since they're usually hit or miss, but this one was definitely a hit! To start off, the portion sizes are HUGE. We got the branzino which was literally enough for all 4 of us and we even had some leftover. The bibimbap was also huge and came in a sizzling pan so the rice got nice and crispy! Lastly, even the kids pizza was huge and honestly so good-it tasted like it came from a wood fired oven rather than just an industrial oven. We actually entered through the back entrance and had to walk through the whole restaurant to get to the front to check in. Luckily we had a reservation and were seated right away, next to the kitchen. I ordered the seafood pan roast, which was a little misleading because it wasn't really a "roast" at all. It reminded me more of a lobster bisque, especially since it came with garlic bread on the side that was perfect for dipping into the soup. It did have a decent amount of seafood in it overall; very delicious and filling! One standout dish our family ordered was the branzino. The whole fish was served and stuffed beautifully, and it was incredibly buttery and flavorful -- definitely a must-order if you're dining here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of it...we just dug right in LOL It's definitely on the pricier side, so I'm not sure if I'd come back, but it would be a nice spot for a special occasion. read more

We had a reservation for 2 at Sugo Social and they were kind enough to still honor happy hour pricing even though we walked in literally a minute past the cut-off (we really appreciated that flexibility!). ​ We started with complimentary cheese bread and shared the Chicken Empanadas, the Chicken Karaage, the Szechuan Chicken Sliders, and the Caesar salad; everything was hot, crisp, flavorful, and much better than bar snacks have any right to be. The portions are a bit smaller and the offerings are slightly different from what is listed online, but at $10 a dish it still feels like a deal. The chicken karaage and sliders in particular had great texture and just enough heat. We even liked everything enough to order an Italian Chopped Salad to go (sadly for us, this was regular pricing). We waited about 5 minutes which is totally fine! Our main complaint is the food... we ordered the bulgogi fries to share and it was cold.. it looked delicious but it was cold! For our main entre we got the Pichanha and the Seafood Pan Roast. We understand mistakes can happen but somehow my partner got handed the Sirloin and we told a waitress about this and it was sent back but the Pichanha looked NOTHING like the way it was presented on their website. The Pan Roast tasted great at first but I noticed the foccocia was not baked fresh. I could immediately tell it had been sitting in their kitchen and warmed up, same goes for the two pieces of shrimp in the Pan Roast-- I could tell it wasn't fresh and it was frozen. I would've never expected this type of restaurant in the PV Promenade. When you step inside, you feel like you're transported somewhere else, somewhere super trendy and chic. The menu is extensive and I was surprised to see it under the same ownership as the folks who own Looma Space - hence why the Looma Nuggets are also on the kids menu here. Pao de queijo: 10/10 addictive baked 3 cheese Brazilian popovers served with lime aioli sauce (which it didn't need, because it got us hooked the way Cheeze its gets us - once you start, you can't stop!) 2. Fried Calamari: 7.5/10, also served with lime aioli sauce and house made marinara sauce. Good but not spectacular and not something I would repeatedly pay $18 for. The only dish we would not get again. 3. Modena Salad: 9/10, what a delicious salad with butter lettuce, candied walnuts, crumbled goat cheese, shallots, Italian parsley, and balsamic vinaigrette. Wanted to dine at this fairly new restaurant for while, and glad I finally got to try it out. I tried it out for the first time during the week for lunch. There are two entrances on opposite sides of the restaurant. There's a door from the inside of the mall and a flight of stairs from the underground parking garage. I walked up the flight of stairs and to the bar as directed by the sign. It's an absolutely beautifully designed restaurant. Clean, spacious, and modern. There's even dining out on the patio. Because it wasn't busy, I was allowed to take a seat where I wanted. Booths line the center of the restaurant. There is a full bar beside the other entrance. I chose a nice booth at the end. Because I had to go back to work afterwards, I ordered a non alcoholic drink. A watermelon crush ($9). The average cocktail costs $18. For lunch, I ordered the seafood pan roast ($30). It comes with a large scoop of Jasmine rice, and two of the largest shrimp I've ever eaten. It was delicious. It's in a heavy cream concoction with tiny pieces of crab meat that is delicious. Service was fine. Not certain where the wait staff go when customers are dining. The restaurant is in the mall, so there is plenty of free underground parking. Sugo is a very nice restaurant located in the Peninsula Shopping Center. The space of this restaurant is very large. It is very airy, and it is very well designed. There are number of very nice booths, some tables for smaller groups, as well as some long group tables that line one of the rooms of this restaurant. It's really an inviting place to eat. In terms of what they offer for food, they are a Korean cuisine influenced dining establishment. They present modern takes on a lot of Korean dishes. All of the foods they offer is very well prepared, with great ingredients. I will say one of the things to keep in mind about eating at this restaurant, however, is that you may have to wait a little while once you place your order. It takes time to make these dishes, and if there's some other customers in the restaurant, it may be a little while before you get your meal. This is not a bad thing, it's just something to keep in mind. So, expect to have some time to converse with your family or friends, and wait for your meal to be delivered because it may take a little time. Once you get this meal, however, you can expect an excellent culinary adventure. The staff here are all super nice. I will say, however, and again this is just something to keep in mind, but you may not see the staff members too often. I've noticed that they tend to fade off into the distance somewhere. Where they go, I don't know? But, between you sitting down, them taking your order, then bringing you your meal to you, then them coming back to check on you, and finally to see if you need anything else or your check, all of this may take some time. Again, not a bad thing. If you're enjoying the company you're with, this is a great thing. But, if you're in a hurry, you may not get the kind of expedited service that you want. As this restaurant is located in a shopping mall, there is a lot of parking attached to this area. There's a multilevel parking lot, so you should never have a problem finding a spot to park. I opted for the octopus pomodoro which was nice and creamy along with very hefty portions of octopus. We're talking more octupus than pasta. Can't complain there. Would recommend this. My mother got a Salmon salad which was pretty standard. The salmon was cooked nicely so no complaints there either. They have some nice diversity in their menu so definitely worthwhile going through it if you live in PV, otherwise can't imagine making a trip up here otherwise. My group and I were a party of 5 (with a baby) and arrived without a reservation. We were seated right away on a Saturday for lunch. We were given complimentary cheese bread and it was so soft and GOOD! I ordered a half sandwich with corn soup from their lunch menu. Prices overall are reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed the corn soup and the bulgogi sandwich was massive and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food and we were hoping to try their green tea tiramisu but they ran out. Today is Mother's Day, and as a mom, I left this restaurant feeling extremely disappointed. I understand inflation and price increases -- that's not the issue. What I don't understand is why the quality is still so poor after raising prices. For a $12 kids' meal, the strawberries and grapes were already overripe and mushy. I don't even want to get into the adult meals -- darkened avocados that looked like they had been sitting out for far too long. A restaurant can have a beautiful atmosphere, but if it can't maintain basic food quality, it won't last long. PV needs genuine local restaurants that care about food and service, not places that rely only on aesthetics. I still left a 10% tip because this is not the fault of the service staff. From my experience, Sugo Social got many of the big things right but also completely missed on many of the details. I do feel that most would enjoy the food and setting, but the miscue on the menu very negatively impacted what would have been a fine experience for me. I was seated outside the day after it had rained. The seat cushions were wet because they had been left uncovered, something that wasn't discovered until after the party had sat down. After changing to a damp rather than wet chair, I was dripped on from the pergola above and needed to shift my seat to avoid getting wet further. When the food arrived, the plating was beautiful and the flavors were very good as well. The Asian flavors mixed with the traditional flavors of the dishes all agreed with one another. We ordered the picanha pate feuiletee, truffle pizza, and teriyaki chicken bowl. The pizza and chicken bowl were perfect. The picanha had amazing flavors but I could barely eat it. I feel that it is very important to label things accurately on a menu. I cannot eat spicy foods, and the picanha pate feuiletee did not have a designation as spicy as some other menu items did. It was unbearably spicy, the entire top of the steak was covered with a generous amount of the Korean chimichurri, way too much heat for an item not designated as spicy. For someone who could have been seated inside and would have appreciated a meal with a lot of heat from peppers and spices, I'm confident they would have enjoyed their experience. Unfortunately, the wet seating and very spicy dish that wasn't designated as such resulted in a negative experience for me. read more
