**Bagel review only** Holy smokes. They got a bagel pop-up going on select weekends, you need to order a day ahead. The bagels are so freaking good. They are Korean style - soft AF, sweeter schmear. The garlic stuffed bagel was the headliner for sure. The lox bagel was fine but definitely not in the wheelhouse. It was good just not stacked and the primo fixins you'd want. Hot tip check it!

Pre ordered via Instagram DM (I believe they changed the ordering system after this weekend) The Korean cheese bagel wasn't our favorite. The jalepeno cheddar bagel with the scallion cream cheese was amazing! Service was very friendly and we enjoyed them on the patio. Would come back for the scallion cream cheese!

I recently tried the Brick Roasted Chicken--deboned chicken with rosemary lemon butter; seasonal greens; and mashed potatoes ($29.00). The cooking method uses a weight, often a brick, to roast the chicken evenly and flatten it for more surface area, resulting in a browned, crispy skin. It was a well-balanced plate with a main and two sides. The chicken had robust flavor from both the seasoning and the browning.

Came here on a weekday evening with family. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. We actually entered through the back entrance and had to walk through the whole restaurant to get to the front to check in. Luckily we had a reservation and were seated right away, next to the kitchen. I ordered the seafood pan roast, which was a little misleading because it wasn't really a "roast" at all. It reminded me more of a lobster bisque, especially since it came with garlic bread on the side that was perfect for dipping into the soup. It did have a decent amount of seafood in it overall; very delicious and filling! One standout dish our family ordered was the branzino. The whole fish was served and stuffed beautifully, and it was incredibly buttery and flavorful -- definitely a must-order if you're dining here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of it...we just dug right in LOL It's definitely on the pricier side, so I'm not sure if I'd come back, but it would be a nice spot for a special occasion.

The Perfect Date Night Vibe & Great Food! If you're looking for a great place to have a lunch or dinner date, this is it. The vibe here is really cool, and the overall atmosphere is fantastic. I brought my wifey here for our Valentine's Dinner, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A huge shoutout to the staff, too--the customer service was excellent and really added to the great atmosphere of the evening. Now, let's talk about the food, which was pretty good across the board: Seafood Pan Roast (9/10): This was the star of the show for me. Packed with flavor, rich, and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend! Spicy Vodka Rigatoni (8/10): A really solid dish. It had a nice kick to it and the pasta was great. I was also taking a look at their menu and their happy hour special seems incredibly enticing. Between that and the great service we received, I would definitely come back. Highly recommend checking them out for your next date night!

Food: Sugo Social started us off with a complimentary appetizer, and honestly, it was a pleasant surprise, warm, tasty, and especially good with the accompanying sauce. For mains, the Seafood Pan Roast was the standout: savory, hearty, and comforting, with snow crab, shrimp, and prawns over jasmine rice. The Shrimp Miso Pasta came with thick, chewy noodles and a rich miso‑based sauce, plus prawns, bacon, and mushrooms, flavorful and satisfying without being overpowering. The Yuzu Highball was refreshing, citrusy, and light, exactly the kind of cocktail you want with richer dishes. It wasn't the best meal of my life, but everything was solid, well‑executed, and enjoyable. Price: Sugo Social leans toward the pricier side for the South Bay, with many signature dishes hovering around the high‑$20s. The Seafood Pan Roast at $28 and the Shrimp Miso Pasta at $28 reflect that higher-end positioning, but the portions and ingredients help justify it. Drinks and cocktails (including the Yuzu Highball) aren't listed with prices online, but expect typical upscale lounge pricing. Overall, it's not cheap, but fair for a date-night restaurant with elevated Korean‑Italian fusion flair. Ambiance: Nighttime is where Sugo Social shines. The decor leans upscale, warm lighting, stylish interior, and a modern, high‑class feel without being pretentious. It's the kind of place that works perfectly for date nights, celebrations, or a classy hangout with the girlies. The plaza around it has definitely become more lively compared to a few years ago, giving the whole area a pleasant evening buzz. Service: Service is friendly and efficient. Staff stay attentive without hovering, and dishes come out at a good pace even during busier hours. The general vibe is relaxed but polished, a balance that fits the fusion concept well. Parking: A huge plus for the South Bay: the plaza has its own dedicated parking structure, and it's free. No need to circle the block or pay for a cramped lot. Between the easy parking and the increasingly lively plaza, getting in and out is pretty painless.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend who had a really good experience recently. We made our reservation but it was still a long wait. The waitress seemed frustrated as well because it's the manager's decision to overbook. We knew we wanted ordered octopus pasta and chicken karage but unsure of another entree. The waitress recommended the brick roasted chicken that's been deboned and brined so it's really juicy. The dishes took a bit to get here because the kitchen was really busy. The complementary cheese bread was really good and eased our hunger haha. I really liked the octopus pasta. The octopus was cooked until very tender and the pasta soaked up all the seafood flavor. The karage was decent. However, we were a bit disappointed with the checked. It's ok but almost brined for too long so the meat is a bit mealy. It's a nice space and food is overall tasty. Hopefully they can work out the operational kinks so it will be a smoother experience for everyone.

It's beautiful inside. The design and decor are exceptional. The food is good, I would just say customer service was lacking. Not the friendliest and I literally had to approach someone for help. Also, when I went, there were very few people inside. It wasn't like it was super busy or even busy at all, but maybe it was an off day for them?

Located in the Palos Verdes Mall. Under the movie theatre. Ordered the calamari, pork bao bun, and hot honey Sopressata pizza The calamari was crisp and tender with a seasoning that had just the right amount of kick. The pork bao buns were soft and flavorful with savory pork balanced by the pickled toppings and sauce. The hot honey Sopressata pizza was the standout. It wasn't that spicy and had that good amount of sweetness. With a pillowy crust that held up well under the toppings Service was friendly and attentive and the space had a casual yet modern vibe. The interior was nicely decorated. The colorings of the restaurant was spot on. Highly recommend.

Great happy hour deals and a fun vibe to catch up with friends. Cheese bread: complementary. Very very good. Calamari: good but nothing memorable and small portions. Shrimp taquitos: delicious with a refreshing salsa. Get this Chicken sliders: a solid option but I would pick the others over this. Great price during happy hour. Truffle pizza: delicious pizza with pieces of garlic. Must get Yuzu chili mocktail: delicious with the perfect kick. I typically don't like spicy drinks and loved this. Service/ambience: very friendly and quick service. The decoration and ambience look very nice but chill. Parking: plenty in a lot

the strawberries and grapes were already overripe and mushy.

Today is Mother's Day, and as a mom, I left this restaurant feeling extremely disappointed. I understand inflation and price increases -- that's not the issue. What I don't understand is why the quality is still so poor after raising prices. For a $12 kids' meal, the strawberries and grapes were already overripe and mushy. I don't even want to get into the adult meals -- darkened avocados that looked like they had been sitting out for far too long. A restaurant can have a beautiful atmosphere, but if it can't maintain basic food quality, it won't last long. PV needs genuine local restaurants that care about food and service, not places that rely only on aesthetics. I still left a 10% tip because this is not the fault of the service staff. Poor quality is ultimately a management and kitchen issue.

It's a big restaurant with lots of windows. Nice decor and very comfortable chairs! My girl friend and I have been wanted to try this restaurant for only one reason - Very interesting menu which turned out to be not so interesting. We didn't love it, but didn't hate it either. Nothing unfortunately stood out.

3.5 to be fair. The cheese bread was good though it was only complimentary for one plate. Service was alright but a bit on the slower side. The seafood stew came with just two large prawns and was quite heavy. The Bolognese was okay, nothing particularly outstanding. Overall, a decent experience but not very memorable.

If you don't feel like a tiki drink they also have a few beers on tap or canned. PAINKILLER: Pussers navy rum, Pussers gunpowder rum, Goslings 151, coconut, pineapple, orange, bitters. This thing is strong! You can definitely taste the rums and 151, but at the same time the bartender was able to make it well-balanced and taste like a very good, but strong cocktail. ROYAL RATIONS (seasonal cocktail): Kuleana hui hui & agricole rums, hawaiian sun passion-orange, pineapple, lime, passionfruit 18. It sounded like something that I would enjoy, but I would skip this in the future and order the other drinks on their island classics or hula classics menu. Overall, I'm glad I checked out Hula Hula Room. Already planning my next visit to enjoy more of the drinks on the menu.

It's the kind of place where you settle into a chair, sip something strong, and suddenly two hours disappear. What makes it special is the live music. Local musicians play most nights from about 7-11pm, creating the perfect soundtrack for the evening. This past Saturday we stopped in after dinner at Nelson's on the property, an excellent combination. We caught Olivia Pucci, who lit up the Terranea lobby in a striking red dress, delivering smooth, soulful vocals that set the tone immediately. Her mix of pop, jazz, and mellow classics is perfect for cocktails and oceanfront vibes, backed by a tight trio on piano/keyboard and guitar. Honestly, this is Palos Verdes at its best: great drinks, live music, ocean air drifting in, and a relaxed crowd enjoying the moment. The interior is neat and clean. There are various types of seating (bar; table; booth; high-tops; communal), and plenty of screens to watch sports. On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

The food was great! No complaints there. The service however, was absurd! Actually, non-existent…read more The table next to us literally had to go to the bar and retrieve their own drinks. No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!

Let's not get political (please) - it's Yelp after all…read more I chose here this year for my husband's annual birthday brunch! He loves a decadent brunch. Who doesn't? And after a number of years patroning the Four Season's Beverly Hills brunch on Doheny I wanted to try something new. There's not many decadent, birthday worthy brunch options in our post Covid world. So when I found this one, read the menu and saw the price point I was ALL in. And my goodness it blew last year at the four seasons away by a lot!!! (They dipped significantly after Covid - not the same value). The Trump had EVERYTHING you could want in a brunch. Sushi, free flowing champagne, prime rib, crepes, crab, waffles, eggs Benedict, pancakes, chocolate dipped fruit, breads, bagels, cheeses, salad, Korean short ribs, shrimp, shrimp scampi, pasta, omelettes, oysters, fruit & figs, and sausage & bacob. I know for a fact I am missing offerings. It was world class, A+ with live music and wonderful service. The views of the pacific were gorgeous on our blustery day. My goodness it was so pretty. We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.
