    Tomato bisque with homemade croutons
    Linda C.

Stopped in Friday for a light bite and WOW, was it great! They had tomato bisque as a special with delicious croutons. So smooth, creamy and flavorful. Followed by their fantastic shrimp cocktail.. more light a prawn cocktail. The shrimps were very large, delicious and accompanied by their atomic horseradish cocktail sauce. Service was impeccable. The restaurant very nice, inviting and welcoming. Will definitely be returned soon. Great addition to Redondo Beach.

Four of us had dinner here to celebrate a birthday. The food was generally good, with some hits and misses. The shrimp cocktail amd Brussels sprouts salad were good, but the crispy lumpia were just ok with not much flavor. The steaks were well prepared and properly seasoned. But the mac n cheese was mostly mac and not much cheese. The asparagus was creative and it was nice that they brought us a birthday dessert. Our server was also a bit inconsistent - disappearing for long stretches of time. We waited over 15 minutes at the end of our meal to get our check and finally had to flag down a different server. Overall, the dinner was fine. But we won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Food was excellent. Ambiance was on point!!! Server was excellent, she knew the menu!!

My daughter and I came here for our annual pre Valentine's Day dinner -- a tradition that means so much to me because she's my first love, my first true love, and my forever Valentine. We had such a wonderful experience! I ordered the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly, and she had the shake beef with sticky rice -- it was absolutely delicious. We each ordered a dessert (because why not?!) and both were amazing. Oh, and I must add -- their lumpia egg rolls are our favorite. Definitely a must-try! We order them every time. The drinks were also so good. They didn't have exactly what I was craving on the menu, but our waiter was incredibly accommodating. I told him I wanted something similar to a lemon drop, and he went to the bartender and had a custom berry cocktail made for me -- and let me tell you, it hit the spot! I would honestly go back just for that drink. It wasn't overly crowded for a Friday night, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The vibe was lively without being overwhelming, and one of my favorite things about this place is the music. They play such a great mix of R&B, hip-hop, and a little bit of 80s -- it's the perfect blend and always sets the mood. Our waiter was so kind and attentive. I wish I could remember his name (I usually do!), but he truly took great care of us. Kevin, the owner, also stopped by our table to check in and make sure everything was perfect. Every time we dine here, he makes it a point to say hello and ensure we're enjoying ourselves. That personal touch means so much and is one of the reasons we keep coming back. This is definitely one of our favorite spots for special occasions. Thank you for always helping us create such beautiful memories together!

Fries are to die for! Such a funky shape. You can ask for them without the beef tallow, ask for the veggie fries. Service is friendly and they check in often. Meat was a bit too rough for my taste (ordered medium rare). Ambiance is great! Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Non alcoholic cocktail was yummy and tasted like it was alcoholic, so a win for me. Great place for work dinners, which is what I came for. Parking available next door.

TL;DR - gigantic whiskey/whisky options! Amazing cuts of meat. Tomahawk steak (for 2) was tender and perfectly cooked. Great service and ambiance. I'm so happy to know an awesome steak restaurant with a HUGE whiskey library exists in the south bay! Seriously, look at the two pictures of their Whiskey menu that I included in this review...That's literally front and back lol. The owner is a big collector of them. So if you wanted to go to a nice steak restaurant and expand your whiskey palate, then this is a solid place to go. They have a variety of cuts and we went with the tomahawk. It was so delicious. Beautifully cooked, tender, and flavorful. It is meant for two people. It comes with two salad options, sides, and dessert. Overall we had a fantastic time and would come back again. The ambiance was nice. Not loud, not too quiet. Perfect for having a conversation with a group or a date. Service was amazing. They checked up on us very frequently. I'll be coming back for sure!

Sommelier Peggy with our awesome vino

Truly Exceptional in Every Way! From the moment we walked in, the experience at Pacific Standard Prime in Redondo Beach was absolutely top-notch. A warm, friendly greeting from the host set the tone for the evening, and the service only got better from there. Sommelier Peggy provided outstanding wine recommendations, from the elegant pre-meal Champagne to a beautifully balanced Nebbiolo that paired perfectly with dinner. Mark delivered impeccable service throughout the evening, and it was a pleasure to meet Kevin, the owner, whose passion for hospitality shines through in every detail. The Wagyu ribeye was one of the best I've had -- cooked to perfection, rich, and full of flavor. The sides were equally impressive, and while I didn't need dessert, I'm so glad we shared one... it was incredible! Capped off the night with a nightcap at the bar with Sharon, which was the perfect way to end an already memorable evening. A+ experience from start to finish! Pacific Standard Prime sets the standard for fine dining in the South Bay. Highly recommended!

What a gem! I came here for my boyfriend's birthday.. it was random. We ate everything! The ambience was great, service top tier! Good music & tv on bar side.

I should have known better... Mother's Day and Valentine's Day are probably the two days you just don't go out to eat. But I thought brunch would be different, and honestly, I thought if anyone could pull it off, Pacific Standard could. Wrong. We made a reservation for 7 people at 1:00 PM to celebrate both my mom and mother-in-law. We waited to eat all day and were really looking forward to it. First disappointment was being told the trio option that's on the website wasn't available. Not a huge issue, just a letdown. But then things really went downhill. We didn't even order until around 1:30. Long wait, but we tried to be understanding because it was a holiday. The food finally came out after 3:00 PM and was honestly terrible. My child's pancake had to be sent back THREE times: * First one was freezing cold * Second one came out burnt to a crisp * Third one still wasn't edible My chopped salad was basically a bowl of cabbage. Nothing "chopped" about it besides cabbage overload. The steak and eggs my husband ordered tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. At the end, the response was essentially: "Sorry about that." They said we took off your drinks... two sparkling waters, and apple juice, and comped the brie appetizer. To top it off, they said they also automatically added gratuity because we were a large party. I completely understand holidays are busy, but waiting over two hours for food that was inedible made for a really disappointing Mother's Day experience.

This review is for a cooking class I took recently at the restaurant. The best part is the honor bar, so if you're into drinking generous amounts of wine this is your place! They had a Chardonnay and a cab that day. The cost of the class included the food, honor bar and gratuity so a great value for heavy wine drinkers all for $100. In terms of the food it was also good, with the best dish being the Jidori chicken mushroom and scallion crepes. The only thing I wished was that we got two instead of one crepe since it was sooooo good. Recommend the cooking class to those who love wine.

Manager offered a 20% comp due to bad wait times (left). When we actually paid, they switched to 1% comp (right).

Update: Kevin Leach reached out to us immediately after the review and corrected the charges. Rating updated to 4, which now reflects our opinion of the food and service outside of the charge issue.

Be careful, don't drink too much of them or a nasty hangover you will have. They have regular cocktails as well and some nice sodas. You will love the way the Hula Hula Room is decorated. It is just an escape from LA life. It is only open until midnight so keep that in mind. It can get crowded and I don't think they take reservations. Call them and ask. It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.

I had seen the Bazille sign above the Nordstrom entrance so many times, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually get there. For some reason, I also assumed from the name "Bazille" that it was probably some kind of salad or healthy/vegan place , so I never really bothered to figure it out. Well, I finally did about two weeks ago, and OMG -- what a pleasant surprise. You actually enter through Nordstrom and take the stairs or elevator up to the second floor. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and intimate without feeling overly fancy. But the FOOD! Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good. And another pleasant surprise was the price. I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. And clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything that came out was amazing. I can't believe I've walked past this place so many times without trying it.
